461  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to know when to sell? on: November 14, 2017, 11:18:56 AM
Know the latest news about the coin you want to trade.
Most pumps and dumps are caused by events that are either positive or negative for the coin.
Examples of events that cause changes in price: Exchange shutting down, countries banning ICO, meeting announcements.
Then you need to predict what effect it will have on the price.

I guess I'll have try out this information based prediction to sell if it will work.
Thanks for your time sir.
You're welcome.
I have been using it for years and noticed all big fictionalizations are based on events impacting the coin.
Good luck with trading!

IOTA is known for it's very low fees, also a stable coin with a 1B+ marketcap for the last 4 months.
But I prefer Litecoin and Monero , both have decent transaction fees.
Litecoin because it's around for ages, does technological upgrades first and is basically Bitcoin but not overpopulated.
Monero got my interest with their anonymous transactions using the Cryptonight algorithm that they implemented first.

463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite altcoin project(s) and why? on: November 13, 2017, 05:12:37 PM
Komdo is interesting because of the delay proof of work.
It uses 60 verified nodes to gather data from the Bitcoin blockchain to use in their own blocks.
This adds extra protection for attacks on the Komodo blockchain as the only way of attacking would be reversing the Bitcoin blockchain.

465  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who else predicted what we are seeing today? BTC + BCH on: November 13, 2017, 04:53:46 PM
I really didn't expect this to happen, I remember posting here that I thought it was too late to sell BCH as it would never pass the $500 mark again. But I think it's the consequence of a series of unexpected events, like the cancellation of the Segwit2x hardfork and the change in hash power which caused transation delays and made BCH mining more profitable. It's a good example of how unpredictable the crypto market really is. I still believe in the authentic Bitcoin core that I will hold till I feel the need of selling it.
466  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Where can i buy an Antminer S9 ? on: November 13, 2017, 04:37:06 PM
Just wait till Bitmain has a new batch available, then you're sure you pay the real price and you will receive it.
Re-sellers are selling these miners for double the price and sometimes even more.
There is also no guarantee that you will actually receive your miner and that it works, really unsafe if you ask me.
But it you really want to do it, go on ebay and buy from a reputable seller.
Hi Aura,

Thank you for advices.

According to all the members from here, i'll wait for their tweet announcing the sell...

By the way, i've seen this morning that they are selling L3+ , is that a good opportunity ?

Thanks
That's a good thing to do, mining is a risk in the first place so you shouldn't risk more by ordering online from resellers.
I think the L3+ is a good miner, maybe one of the best that Bitmain has to offer because it doesn't seem to be much overproduced like the D3 is.
Litecoin is also a stable and reliable coin that has lots of potential for growing even more.
467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCH or BTC? on: November 13, 2017, 04:23:10 PM
I see the current situation as a temporary accident, Bitcoin will stay the number one cryptocurrency.
BCH got luck with the cancellation of segwit2x, which somehow pumped the price.
Because of the price spike, BCH is more profitable for miners so a lot of the hash power goes to the BCH network.
Which causes massive delay in transactions and makes the coin unattractive.
But like I said it's temporary, Bitcoin and BCH's difficulties will get adjusted to the total hashrate every 2016 blocks.
This will make BCH less profitable, the miners will go back to Bitcoin.
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The primary idea of bitcoin on: November 07, 2017, 05:55:08 PM
Sathosi Nakamoto wanted to separate government from money.
The goal was creating a decentralized, peer-to-peer currency.
I don't think he intended to create new millionaires, that is just a side-effect.
But to be honest I think that the early investors deserve to get rewarded, because they made this project huge.

469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to claim BCH if I use Breadwallet on: November 07, 2017, 05:25:43 PM
Convert the 12 word passphrase to a private key with a tool like this https://github.com/iancoleman/bip39.
The developer got an online version but for security reasons, please download the offline standalone version.
Then import the private key to a BCH wallet, preferably a desktop wallet.
470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: regret by not believing in BITCOIN? on: November 07, 2017, 12:16:52 PM
Only thing I regret is the fact that I didn't buy more at the time I could.
Also selling a lot of it on $200 was quite dumb, but I needed the money at that time.
However I never stopped believing in the technology of Bitcoin.
471  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: downgrade from 3.0.0 to 2.9.3 on: November 07, 2017, 11:45:16 AM
Write your private keys on a piece of paper, make sure you double check if you didn't make any mistakes.
Then delete your current Electrum application from your PC and install the older version 2.9.3.
Import your private keys to Electrum and you should be fine.

473  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: November 07, 2017, 10:55:49 AM
You got the people that are interested for it's technology and people who are mainly here for the fluctuations in price, investors.
I think the group of people that are using it for the technology is smaller than the group of investors.
Also tech people that have blockchain technology as work wouldn't be able to do it full time if it wasn't as popular as it is now.
So I think you can say that a lot of Bitcoins attention is due to it's extreme price fluctuation, it wouldn't be so popular if it didn't had that.
474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where do you find your news? on: November 07, 2017, 10:48:39 AM
Mainly this forum and sometimes Reddit when I look at Bitcoin's subreddit.
But I think this forum is one of the best platforms for understanding and keeping up-to-date of the latest crypto news.
475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Quantum Mining?? on: November 07, 2017, 10:40:38 AM
Luckily Quantum resistant ledger has a solution for quantum computational attacks.
I'm not sure if it's proven to be working but it is theoretically possible.
When these computers are able to be programmed, I hope Bitcoin and other will implement the hash based one-time signatures too.
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT WAS YOUR INVESTMENT IN BITCOIN on: November 06, 2017, 09:36:28 PM
I did some investments around a price of $100.
The average was about $125 I guess, so I multiplied my initial investment about 57 times.
Not bad if you ask me.
477  Economy / Economics / Re: If the powerful governments wanted to, do you think they could stop Bitcoin? on: November 06, 2017, 08:48:42 PM
They can stop a lot of the trading, by shutting down exchanges.
But really stopping it is impossible, else they have to shut down the internet.
Also if they would find out how to securely filter Bitcoin transactions and ISP would implement it, it will be a cat and mice game that Bitcoin will win.
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Myetherwallet who use this? How much ETH holding? on: November 06, 2017, 07:57:35 PM
You shouldn't use myetherwallet for such an amount of Ethereum.
Please do yourself a favor and start using a wallet that is not third party hosted.
479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Already More Valuable Than Many National Currencies on: November 06, 2017, 02:27:36 PM
It's crazy to think that a project started by one person is more valuable than the total money supply of the United Kingdom.
I didn't know that was possible in such a small time,  9 years to reach a value like this is insane.
Congratulations to Sathosi, it must feel great for him to see the outcome of his project.
480  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB Cigarettes , shipped from EU!! on: November 05, 2017, 01:36:33 PM
www.dutyfree.io accepts Bitcoin for cartons of cigarettes.
Also with discount, depending on where you life.
I have never tried it out as I don't smoke but a friend of mine did a while ago.
He told me that everything went fine, except for the shipping that took quite some time but as mentioned on the website.
