462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 13, 2023, 11:35:52 PM
Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

Since it's life-changing money, therefore, why should I stop gambling?

I will definitely continue more as I don't mind losses lol.

But it depends if, during that time, I opened up several businesses and establishments that will make my time busy and occupied that I don't have time now to do gambling. Win or lose, I just keep myself responsible at all times, and that is what matters.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?

On what amount can we consider as "high"? We have our own definition of what amount range it is.

Generally, I already managed to win several times a considered high amount, but yes, in most cases losing them back in gambling in the long run.

Just a normal day for me lol not unless we are talking about a really high amount figure that is something we can't imagine winning.
463  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin trading be my sole source of income? on: June 13, 2023, 11:06:12 PM
I'd prefer you keep your job and treat Bitcoin as your long-term investment by HODLing. It's way better than just sticking to one source of income with the unpredictability behavior.

Can't be applied to those who are not happy now with their jobs. The only choice for them is to, keep with their job no matter how toxic and stressful the work environment is or to focus on bitcoin as their source of income. It's really hard to make Bitcoin a source of income as it depends on what the "work involved" is.

It doesn't mean that a user will just limit themselves to HODLING and TRADING as there are other ways such as offering services and works for bitcoin payment and so on. It is still a usual work being paid with fiat but this time, the payment just changed to bitcoin. There are also crypto-related job opportunities in the freelance world and just put some effort to look for those.

I'd rather leave work that is now giving stress to me and instead choose crypto-related work as my source of income. Not that I will just stick to a single source of income but I will look for other opportunities too that will give me a stress-free environment.
464  Economy / Gambling / Re: Top 5 Advantages of Bitcoin Casinos vs. Traditional Casinos on: June 11, 2023, 11:33:33 PM
If you’re a sports bettor, you understand that knowing the odds is the first part of making smart bets. You won’t always make winning bets, but you will make smart bets, which is the only thing we can do when betting.

In the long run, the more smart bets we make, the more we profit.

What it has something to do with your topic "bitcoin casinos vs traditional casinos"?

In general, isn't obvious that always be a smart bettor whether you are playing with different currencies and platforms?

The real reason? Proof of work rewards Bitcoin miners to create blocks, which means the rewards of validating and securing transactions is more than the reward from stealing almost all BTC transactions.

The technical explanation you just mentioned is all useless if the gambling site runs away and turned into a scam.

What the most important thing here is, if it's about safety, always do research about the gambling site as a whole before putting money on it.

Bitcoin casinos often provide more games. Not only that, but the payouts are also often higher due to Bitcoin’s transparency and decentralized aspects.

High payout? It doesn't have to do about Bitcoin's transparency and decentralization. Where did you even get that information? lol.

Game payouts are set by the game providers. You see the variety of games but it was the game providers who provides it, not the Bitcoin casino you are referring to. Almost all online gambling sites, crypto or non-crypto sites, nowadays are using the service of game providers.

The payout structures vary for each game.
465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a Gambler and a Die-Hard Fan of a Club Would you Bet Against your Club on: June 11, 2023, 09:22:08 PM
With a gambler who are aiming for money, it's not important to bet whether it's their favorite team or not, as long as they see good opportunities and the odd is decent they will take that in hope that they will win the bet. But with those casual gambler who wanted to bet while watching, it can add excitement and enjoyment if the team that they love are performing and the bet have a better chance to win.

Sometimes it's really hard to bet against my favorite team but money matters. Depends on how juicy the odds are, I might bet against my favorite team as long as it's reasonable to do so. In case the odds are favoring my criteria and it happened to be with my favorite team, I will go that way.

I admit that even though there are times I understand the risks that my favorite team is on the verge of losing in their upcoming match, I risk some money on them thinking of the possibility that they might turn the game upside down and upset the considered favorite team in that match.

If that happened, a good profit is waiting but not always the case that I will repeatedly be doing it.
466  Economy / Economics / Re: To Hodl or Lend: What is your take? on: June 11, 2023, 09:00:42 PM
Yes, they use either a centralized or decentralized platform to lend their bitcoin which would be repaid with interest. What is your honest take on bitcoin lending? Too risky, won't try it? Too risky, will give it a try?

If the person clearly understands what they are doing, understands and knows very well the risk factors they will face, they can consider lending their Bitcoin holdings as one way to increase their holdings, if they are not into this buy and sell scenario, trading activity or basically, don't want to ride the market volatility.

Of course, there's a risk that's why before considering, make it up to the point that we do realize everything from top to bottom.

If I have to answer it personally, I don't want to consider doing that. I won't jump into other things that I'm not really familiar with. It's better for me to focus instead on trading or doing regular DCAs if my budget can keep up with that.
467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 11, 2023, 08:30:26 PM
Agreed. The only reason why Donaire is still continuing his career here in boxing industry is he thinks that he can still have a good fight and defeat the younger guys at 118 but if the opposite will happen especially if he will be defeated without a doubt or worse, a KO/TKO. I think that will be an enough reason for him to believe that his time is already finished because he's not the same Donaire anymore and most probably, cannot become a champion again before he hangs up his gloves.

Also because his last fight was against a truly stronger one in the 118 and that is Naoya Inoue so he thinks he can still match with other boxers in that division. If some boxers in 118 will now put Donaire to another loss, that's the time maybe that he will consider retiring.

If happened that he still dominated Santiago here, it will give him think that he can still face young boxers despite his age. Maybe after he wins here, he will still have 1-2 fights and that's enough to make him fight in a unification match at the age of 42-43.

If Donaire loses and Santiago wins, there is no sense of continuing his boxing journey now and it's good to hang his gloves now. He cemented already his legacy as one of the well-known PH boxers who established a great boxing career.
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Deciding to save money in Bitcoins for the future of the child on: June 11, 2023, 08:12:42 PM
I have created a savings account for my children's future and I have already deposited some amount in it but I am in doubt about my money because if my money is lost due to bank failure then I can financially support my children in future.

I'm sure you have chosen a bank that has a good credit quality standing. By failure, do you mean the bank you are referring to might go bankrupt in the future? All banks are insured and it's not that a specific bank won't go bankrupt overnight especially if your chosen bank does have a good reputation in their entire operation.

So I have planned to withdraw the amount of money deposited in the bank and convert it to bitcoin and store it through bitcoin. I hope that as a parent of the child, I have made a good decision for them by thinking about their future.

Your own money, your rules, your own decision.

I just hope that you know and understand very well the associated risk you will deal with. Remember that what you will do here, is to long-term holding. Just make sure that you will store your Bitcoin in a secured storage, non-custodial wallet, and knows very well the ways to keep it safe.

If you lose access to any of your private keys holding your stored bitcoin, that is done for good. There is no insured-related stuff there.
469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is There A Time That You Calculated All Your loses In One Year on: June 10, 2023, 09:31:31 PM
No way. Then in the end, will have the feeling of being regret?

Loses are bound to be forgotten. Don't compute for it but rather take those losing experience as a foundation to be a better gambler while progressing. Computing all our losses within the whole year is hassle and time consuming and after we finished doing that, it won't give us any benefits or advantage.

Even maybe just for fun, I will not consider doing that as I'm playing with several gambling sites.
470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Confident Are You In The Reliability of the KYC system on: June 10, 2023, 09:18:37 PM
Anyways, who or what bodies do have the authority to act as a 'judge' if there's a dispute between the site and and a user regarding KYC issues? Everything is on the hands of the casino and users have no choice but to follow. If something as being unfair is being shown then maybe users can consider spreading the casino name at various social platform as being unprofessional and worst service as long as references, proofs and evidences are clearly provided.

In my own personal judgement, I trust most online casinos though especially those operating for long that they won't do unprofessional approach regarding KYC. I'm just hoping that I won't experienced being in a situation like that in the future as that would be surely give me headache. It's hassle that even I provided clear documents, it still ended up fail.

471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The role of Bitcoin in eliminating unemployment in our country on: June 10, 2023, 08:54:48 PM
There is no permanent solution about minimizing unemployment rate. That was already part of the economic ecosystem even for rich countries. If thats the case at those first world countries, just imagine how huge the problem is at those countries on below tiers and third-world.

Although if we looked at the bright side, it's a big help that several crypto-related jobs are being in demand. For example, local crypto exchanges have been increasing its numbers therefore it needs a manpower and these companies are looking for some people to fulfill the available positions. Another example are those crypto-related works as freelance, full time or part time. Here in our local freelance website, I'm seeing lots of available works that is related to crypto.

The conclusion, bitcoin or crypto might not be able to eliminate unemployment but it opens opportunity for some people that were jobless beforeol or having difficulty looking for a stable job.
472  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gambling is different from trading on: June 10, 2023, 05:59:11 PM
While both gambling and trading do share the same risks of losing money, the approach is different.

We don't rely purely on luck when it comes to trading compare to usual gambling. To earn profits in trading, we do have factors to be considered as our key to make a good strategy unlike in the usual gambling that you bet your money then just depend on luck.

In general though, either gambling or trading, learn to know the risk factor of both field and don't just engage into something without equipping at least basic information beforehand. We are talking about our money here therefore always be cautious.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 10, 2023, 05:32:59 PM
The first thing in solving a self problem is to recognize what's the problem.

Fortunately, there are addicted gamblers who able to cure their gambling addiction because they forced themselves to do it. That's called self-disciplined and being responsible as much as possible. It's difficult to do but with seriouness, gamblers will soon cope up.

On the other hand, there are gamblers that gambling addiction is already out of their conrol. In that particular situation, don't expect these people to still be able to help themselves. They now need the help of their families and friend as a start.
474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which League Makes Sports Betting Easy to Win? on: June 09, 2023, 11:31:31 PM
A tipster on one of the social media platforms advised his hundreds of followers that making money from sports betting is easier if they stop betting on European Football, which has just concluded, and focus on the Singaporean leagues, South American Leagues, and the Scandinavian leagues. Although some of his followers agreed that they've won some bets in those leagues, they also cautioned that there is a huge likelihood of match fixing occurring there as well. So everyone should be careful. I have never bet on those leagues as I am too careful.

Does that tipster you are referring to share some of the pointers of why he ends up in a conclusion like that?

Seems to me that even though he knows every side of what currently happening in those several leagues, the bettors still don't have an idea of where they will put their bet since it's still unpredictable. Even a rigged match is not predictable for the bettors but only for those who are behind the scheme.

Even if we will conclude that the tipster's analysis on why he makes that conclusion does make sense if I don't know the league or am not familiar with it, I will never bet on those. I still prefer to just follow my own way and that is to bet on the league that I have really known for a long.
475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how to get over it on: June 09, 2023, 11:01:17 PM
How do I get over the countless failures? I’ve been chasing the $1,000,000 dream for years.

There is no other choice but to absorb the painful feeling and regrets of what you did.

No matter what advice or suggestions you will receive here, it's impossible that you can really follow it properly since it's on you how to deal with that. It will really be stuck in your mind for a brief period of time and you can't just forget it.

Give it time and you will soon get over with it, not fully 100% but at least you should already accept what happened.

You are a good bettor and a skilled one since it's not that easy turning that $1,000 into really big for a short period of time. It's just that you are chasing a big figure and you don't want to get there slowly but surely. Don't make a shortcut.
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto another form of gambling? on: June 09, 2023, 10:22:39 PM
Now, do you agree that crypto should be seen as a form of gambling? And if this eventually comes through, what should we expect as the constraints it might still bring to the crypto space?

Of course, no. Gambling in general relies purely on luck. On the other hand, risking money in crypto is manageable and it's not that we only have to rely on good luck here. If you consider crypto as an investment, therefore, treat it as any other investment where you have to do your best how to manage it properly.

In the usual gambling, there are luck-based games and strategy-based games. The terms itself should give us a clearer view already about gambling in general especially the luck-based games. Strategy-based games, on the other hand, require skill but still need a bit of luck to win.

In crypto, although the market is too volatile and unpredictable, making profits here depends on the right timing of our actions. We are basically not relying on luck here since regardless of the trend, whether bullish or bearish, there's a possible profit we can achieve. And honestly, with just a simple holding, the profit is always possible - a basic and simple thing to do but effective to most.
477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do meme coins have a future? on: June 09, 2023, 10:05:22 PM
I don't understand why meme coins such as Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and Pepe are so famous and why do people invest in them, wondering about the future of meme coins.

First of all, what's your understanding and definition of the word "future"?

Technically speaking, if a token doesn't have a reasonable use case or a working product that somehow can be considered a game-changer, what can we expect in its future? Why should we use that coin? Why should we buy it? Why should we support it?

Some popular meme coins today are backed up by famous and big individuals that's why it able to make names.

It's risky to trust your money with a coin that is a product of hype "unless you will able to learn how to ride on it".
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you guilty of promising not to gamble for specific days but back next day on: June 09, 2023, 09:49:47 PM
How many of us are guilty of this?

It's not being guilty but that was a normal thing for gamblers. Even casual gamblers do have a feeling like that.

I don't see something wrong with that as long as they stay responsible and not shitting with anyone, anything.

Taking a break from gambling in the meantime is really an advisable thing to do after a big loss. Somehow, the eagerness there to return right away therefore most gamblers can't find the temptation even just resting for several hours lol.

Again, if these gamblers stay their cool, keep their discipline, and overall, always be responsible despite losing big, they are still on the right track.
479  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 7 tips to know about crypto trading on: June 08, 2023, 11:59:23 PM
Of course, most newbies are not aware of those tips you have mentioned because, after all, they are newbies.

Did you already see some newbies turning into a professional in crypto-trading in just a matter of a short period of time?

How can these newbies learn fully if they won't experience mistakes while building their trading journey? It's just common that newbies will suffer mistakes and losses as that's their foundation for becoming a good trader in the future.

Didn't you know that even professionals are still losing today? No one can stand the volatility of the crypto-market. What matter here is, if these newbies are serious about learning crypto trading, they will have the ability to make their own strategy that can be effective in their trading activity.
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: June 08, 2023, 11:49:05 PM
If a person gamble and at the end of the game he starts to feel remorse is that a good thing or should the person be on alert?

That person is surely losing that's why they start to feel remorse.

If they are having good luck in the process, they won't feel any damn regrets about what they are doing as money is just continuously flowing. That is just a normal feeling that if we are losing, there's a part of our mind that makes us feel regrets.

Nothing to be alerted. It's part of the experience. The key here is, how to control our behavior if we are losing. Losing is part of the gambling and shit just happened if we tend to aggressively chase those losses without thinking about what's right or wrong.
