461  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Its boggling me that how noobs want to mine so badly on: September 28, 2014, 05:10:14 PM
Because they think it is stupid buying something that they can get for "free" by mining. I imagine that they learn fairly quickly though  Smiley

First and best answer !
462  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Its boggling me that how noobs want to mine so badly on: September 28, 2014, 03:33:32 PM
So tell me, why?

Even tho its a clear trend that only industrial mining has a chance to profit.....

463  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: September 28, 2014, 03:38:02 AM
Bitmain, do you have a decibel reading on the S4 yet? You warn:

* Stable but a little bit noisy

With those large fans and that server psu it appears this is geared more for a Data Center Environment could you please give a decibel reading for those who intend to run a S4 at home to decide if it is reasonable? Thanks.

considering that there is a free or $0.99 apple iphone app that does it-why not post an actual reading?

it will be 70db or more that is why

then it is not a home based miner, but too underpowered to be a datacenter horse.
Next gen datacenter miner will have to be ~30Th for $10K

Does it hurt? ........pulling that straight out of your ass?
464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ready to admit bitcoin is a failure? on: September 27, 2014, 01:15:44 PM
The OP's username looks familiar. So i checked and now i remember why i ignored him:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=142379.0

The fcker came to this forum posting like an idiot (hijacking threads to sell btc for paypal, etc...). Hes never interested in bitcoin, he just wants to "broker" trading to make some money.

I'm surprised this dumb fck didnt leave already. Now he pretends like he cares to "fix the broken/failed bitcoin".

465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is no hedge against inflation - i unadopted it. on: September 27, 2014, 12:53:23 PM
I hold bitcoins because it allows me to store and transfer value without the help of a middleman or the permission of an authority.
wrong. It doesn't allow you to store value

Did it have value in the past? Yes.

Does it still have value today? Yes.

Will it have value in the future. I'm obviously betting (if you want to call it that, I've done my homework) it will.

Just because a currency has a floating exchange rate does not mean that it can not store value.

Perhaps experimental currencies are not for you. Come back in twenty years when things have normalized a bit.

Currency doesn't have value it represents value, if bitcoin has value it is not a currency .
Saying that currency has value, is like saying an inch has length.

well dumb fck, define value then? because i'm sure as hell you think value is price in USD.
466  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-09-27] Mark Cuban does not see long-term future for bitcoin as a currrency on: September 27, 2014, 12:35:54 PM
Shortsighted cocky bitch. I always dislike how he pissed on other Sharks in Sharktank. (" the only billionaire in this room is me")

If its just a "transport mechanism" as he said, then what happens when everyone use it?

Thats right there will be less incentive to "translate it into fiat". The fact that BTC is freely exchanged to USD by market, it will become a currency by its own.

This "billionaire" needs to learn what currency means. Case in point: says hes fcking a Dutch hookers on his business trip, he pays in USD and the hooker is happy to accept that, only to "translate" it back into Euro.... Right Mark?
467  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 26, 2014, 07:15:17 PM
zvisha, have you guys underclocked SP10s? If so can you give us roughly power consumption for whatever settings you tested?

I think this will help SP10 owners to prolong their mining if they can get higher efficiency. Just like how Bitmain did to their chips
468  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-09-24] Video: Venture capitalist Draper predicts $10K per Bitcoin on: September 26, 2014, 07:12:08 PM
I really would love it if it got to $10,000 as I will be pretty rich, but I think this is mostly whishful thinking by Draper. Not impossible but just seems too improbable for me.

oh really? idiots like you said the same thing when btc was $2.

$100 ? are you fcking retards? no fcking chance .....

Move along sheeps.
469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ApplePay doesn't solve this. on: September 26, 2014, 07:08:55 PM
Alot of ppl didnt even realise the real inflation rate. They usually just take what ever the rate central banks said in public.

In 2000, a bag of milk (3L) cost $2.50, today the same bag cost $4.30

470  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: September 26, 2014, 07:05:37 PM
S4'B1 is limited in quantity, as it is the first mass production after the development stage.

B2 will be available when our sales team get solid confirmation from our production team, and the quantity will be much better. Thanks.

Translation: We will mine with S4 first and sell off later to suckers.

"solid confirmation"  yeah right...
471  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: September 26, 2014, 07:04:34 PM
Batch 1 sold out. So much for overpriced hardware, eh?

There's been enough whining about the price and ROI on this. We all get it, you wish the price was more attractive. But the market forces will dictate what happens, and right now it would appear that the market is buying. Let it be. You aren't going to convince Bitmain to do anything when they are able to sell out production batches in just a few days.

Oh no.... sold out..... fcking ten S4s

are you fcked up in the head or what?

"Limited quantity" hahahha That should cover any loss huh?

472  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DB1000 2TH/s - available in October on: September 26, 2014, 06:05:19 AM
Hey OP, post your address here so we can come and break your skull. I bet its full of shit inside.
473  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: September 26, 2014, 05:32:18 AM
I see that people are buying them... how crazy it is ? I mean if you are using 2.5 BTC to buy the 2 th that would make you .9 btc you just lost about 1.7 btc may as well just buy the bitcoin with cash... 2 more months at this rate and bitcoin mining will be dead and 51% attack would be possible... POW is the flaw of bitcoin i believe...

are you fcking stupid? Ever heard of equilibrium? Mining is not dead, only dumbasses like you wont sustain mining.

475  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 2TH/s, Batch 1 on Sale this week, shipping before Sept. Ends on: September 25, 2014, 04:39:29 AM
SP20, SP35 and S4 are all NOTHING BURGERS .... I don't think they will ROI. Seriously, do the math and save your money.
Most of you have a mistake in your equations. They are based on wrong precondition - you somewhy think that BTC's exchange ratio will be the same as now. Try to imagine it will be 600$ in one month, when the miner will pay for itself in this case?

Trust in BTC, otherwise everithing doesn't make sense...

Dumbass if you want to speculate on BTC price, do it right and BUY BTC.

The point here is that you WONT mine back BTCs that you spent on the S4
476  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 2TH/s, Batch 1 on Sale this week, shipping before Sept. Ends on: September 25, 2014, 04:37:20 AM
I am running 4 - S2's, 6 - S3's , and 3 Tubes and I had planned to sell the S2's on eBay and replace with S4's but screw that.

Canary is putting a GB for the new Prisma tube 1.4 th and I have been very pleased with my current tubes so that is what I going with. Bitmain not that you give a flying F but at this price you lost my business.

whats your reason to give btc away?

Not as I said won't be buying a S4 at this price.

Buying ANY mining gear right now (all the current offers) is giving btc away. Not just S4

478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks that deal with Bitcoin Brokers Canada on: September 24, 2014, 08:30:06 PM
Brokering BTC with personal accounts is a clear violation their terms. You bet your ass they've flagged and sent your info to tax agency now.

The problem isnt banks dont deal with bitcoin. They dont want to deal with YOU after finding your nonlicensed money business.

I'm guessing Bitmain literally means before September ends, like literally shipping on the 31st.

My uneducated guess is they're waiting for any BTC price pump up, so they can better profit on the S4 sales, and mitigate shipping costs.

No, they said on twitter and also on their website "THIS WEEK".

can you point me to the official twitter feed of bitmain?

thanks

Nothing on twitter about it anymore than on the forums here.

Thinking about it, does anyone have any idea on the ROI if the S4 comes out at $1500? Rumors have been circulating that
the ROI numbers would have you running well outside 6 months before a profit can be had and that's only if the difficulty rate
stays at an average of 20% a month which, I would now doubt, especially with Bitmain running up another 7PH/s in over 4300
S2 machines that came online. (I can't even imagine seeing 4300 machines in a room just sitting there let alone all hooked up
and hashing away!) China Power must have substations sitting on Bitmains roof!!! LOL Grin
