That would mean the ammount of people buying bitcoin is the same/smaller, and that it needs further promotion so more people come and the price increases.

I would try to buy some altcoins with it, and keep half of it just as an investment. Perhaps lend them on BTCJam?

There is nothing wrong with the conversion, so either you have only 0.2BTC or you your BTC value isnt showing in BTC, but in mBTC, satoshis,...

If i could work on Bitcoin (promoting, getting companies to accept it,...) i definetly would.

If you dont need it, invest it. You can invest in Bitcoin or altcoins. Altcoins can grow higher, but can also drop faster, so the choice remains on you.

Your points are valid, but there is another problem. What if bitcoin becomes replaced? I mean, when people know Bitcoin, they will also know how to handle any other (possibly better) altcoin, and switch to it.

Safe as an investment? Not really.
Safe as in cant be stolen? Depends on how secure your computer is, and what kind of storage you use for your Bitcoins.

Maidsafe is a really nice coin, especially when they release safecoin. It is being dumped at the moment, but it doesnt matter.
