Makes sense to me. 1diff is the benchmark. Might be nice to have on the "My Workers" page another column showing something like "Average diff over time period". Abbreviated in some way, of course. -- edit: What algorithm are you using to 'allocate' a diff level to a given worker / work request?

Inaba, I don't believe you are paying out transaction fees. True?
If so, do you have plans to add this?
Not much now, but twice as relevant in about three months.

You stirred up the hornet's nest with this unsupported assertion: ASIC vendors are advised to implement an alternative algorithm ... There's no reason this statement of fact should be controversial at all. <sigh> What fact? I see no fact in evidence. Merely a fanciful statement you have made and are apparently unable to support via any citation.

I'd appreciate if people would stop trolling and putting words in my mouth. midnightmagic raised some important points, and as an investor I think they should be fully taken into consideration. It's really that simple. His post was properly replied to in the subsequent post by DutchBrat: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.msg1153777#msg1153777I.e., read the IPO-OP! If midnightmagic doesn't want to invest under those terms, that's his decision. -- You stirred up the hornet's nest with this unsupported assertion: ASIC vendors are advised to implement an alternative algorithm ... You have ignored my multiple requests to show where such an advisory is given. The fallout of your unfounded statement has now moved to: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=105494.msg1155021#msg1155021

ASIC vendors are advised to implement an alternative algorithm ... In the other thread Luke-Jr twice ignored my request to show where such an advisory was given. I have yet to see that this entire fracas is anything other than his fevered imagining.

I am also invested in ASICMINER Why? Seeing how you disapprove of the approach so much. The plan has been stated since the first page of this thread. Well before you had any chance to invest.

"I have to remember to re-enable this" and then though "Yeah, no problem I will remember this time."
Oh, yeah, sure. I've *never* done that. Not even on my real job where there was *real money* in substantial amounts involved. BTW, ty. -- edit: And just to follow-up, my last auto-pay now shows on the chain.
I have an autopay waiting to show in the blockchain for 4.5 hours now...
And I've not seen mine yet either, after about an hour now. So, emails purporting payments are being sent but the actual payments are not being submitted? Not good, Inaba.

P2pool will solve a new p2pool block every 10 seconds
"a new p2pool block" A significant modifier. Just so long as we acknowledge that this is not a bitcoin block. Which pays 50+ BTC. And happens about every 10 minutes.
Well, it's not gonna find a block every 10 seconds. But, yes, the BFL singles do not work well on p2pool. Don't know about the mini-rigs as I'm too poor to contemplate having one of those.
...
But no response to my request for where this has been discussed among the bitcoin developers. Until I see such, I'm calling this FUD.
Well, just within the last fifteen minutes I hit an auto-payment amount.
And, as I was typing this, I got the payout notification email.
Starting Bitcoin-Qt now and I'll be back to let y'all know what I see. (It'll have to catch up for a day or two of block-chain updating.)
--
edit: block-chain is caught up and the transaction doesn't yet show. Which is not a surprise. I'll look again in 10 to 30 minutes and post an update.

ASIC vendors are advised to implement an alternative algorithm
Please provide a link to where this has been discussed.

"but since we speak about possible attacks against the bitcoin network in general you should consider such scenarios as well."
Indeed. As well as weighting the perceived integrity of friedcat, based on his dialog in this thread, versus the demonstrated quality/honesty of BFL's historical statements.

Luke-Jr, you really need to maintain some amount of consistency when posting in various locations lest charges of hypocrisy be levied.

eh? Last I looked shares were going for about 0.11btc each on the market. If you want to buy mine for 1 BTC per share, please send a PM.

Looks like something has gone amiss.
Web site no longer shows shares being accepted.

<ahh> (a sound of satisfaction) The Memory Hole is such a useful device.
No. But you have stated that you will keep the personas discrete.
If not, there is no longer a difference between BFL and EclipseMC in your statements.
