461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin-FINAL BETA LAUNCHED! *ENCRYPTION, MARKETPLACE, BTC INTEGRATION* on: April 30, 2016, 04:06:53 PM
This is an interesting read;

http://ir.net/news/stock-news/123744/should-amazon-com-inc-amzn-worry-about-upcoming-bitcoin-marketplace-openbazaar/

Since Syscoin is better than Openbazaar and Openbazaar is considered better than Amazon.com and the latter is currently valued at 286 billion dollars, it seems like the potential gains for Syscoin holders are very huge. So what is the attitude of Syscoin vis-a-vis platforms like Amazon and E-Bay? Are they competitors, are they going to cooperate with each other in the future? Have steps already been taken to hook up with the current market leaders?  Huh  Smiley

Interesting article, I don't remember seeing this back in February.  I think technologies like OpenBazaar and Syscoin can definitely give Amazon and Ebay competition.  I anxiously await real alternatives to both of those platforms.

464  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-29] Western Union Invests in Digital Currency Group on: April 29, 2016, 04:58:56 PM
Of course they are, they know they are toast.  Their fees are exorbitant and cruel to those sending money over seas.  They will be ancient history soon.

468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 291.2409 BTC for a 0.0001 BTC transaction . on: April 27, 2016, 04:14:48 AM
Someone probably made a mistake again. let's see if anyone pops up requesting miners to return the fee...

That's an insane mistake there. There's no chance that user would get the fee back, as pool users would never agree on such things.
Can't even imagine what i would do if it happened to me. This is one of faults of bitcoin imho..
Wallets should have many failsafes to keep this from happening.

Absolutely agree with this

Also agree.   There have been a couple times I have come close to sending what I did not want to.  I notice many places do not have a confirm window, popup, or whatever to make you look and click again before sending.   It should be like the feature on gmail where you have 10 seconds to unsend  Grin
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Scam, prettiest lie ever told.... on: April 27, 2016, 12:53:29 AM
I would not say that Ethereum is a scam due to Vitalik selling 25% or the forums shutting down.

- Him selling is simply taking some profits and how many did he have in the first place? What scale are we talking about?

- Shutting down the forums may just be a company maturing and not needing it anymore.  Isn't Ethereum talk more active here  than the Ethereum board?

I am not convinced this is a scam.  The technology is interesting.
470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could bitcoin be hacked? on: April 27, 2016, 12:46:22 AM
No bitcoin cannot be hacked but YOUR wallets can and exchanges can be hacked as well.  If you are asking in concern of your own bitcoin there are many measures you can take to protect your own bitcoins.  Always do 2FA and consider offline wallets when possible.
471  Economy / Services / Re: YoBit.Net - Signature Campaign - Realtime Payouts (daily) on: April 27, 2016, 12:42:30 AM
Happy to see some of the changes because spammers give yobit a bad name.  Many people do legitimate and quality posts with this signature. I would have been happy to wait until Member status to start earning.  Gives people a little time to know bitcoin and this forum better.
472  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaigns and bitcoin price on: April 27, 2016, 12:26:54 AM
There won't be anymore signature campaigns. The owners will be basking in the sun on a beach somewhere living off the bitcoin that they made from the campaigns in the first place  Roll Eyes.

Yes, it will probably be a quite different world for bitcoin holders financially if it was 10k.  The whole game will change and this will be a memory.
473  Economy / Economics / Re: Could Bitcoin be the New King of Currency? on: April 26, 2016, 05:59:02 PM
it is already the king of currencies, bitcoin is being used all over the world by every people with different nationalities equally that is already a lot more than any other currencies could achieve ever.
besides there is always a lot of good benefits of using bitcoin that you can not overlook.

I agree that it already is.  It is global and when it picks up users it will quickly become the true king.
474  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-26] bitcoin.com: "I expect ShapeShift be shut down by the government" on: April 26, 2016, 05:57:20 PM
Would this be the first time a government shut down something like this?  I know things have failed but not sure if I have heard something like this.
475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Steam + Bitcoin = Confirmed ! on: April 26, 2016, 04:19:35 PM
this is the news we were waiting, online games and gambling are the killer apps for bitcoin in my opionion, great step for us

Agree!  Integrating bitcoin with any kind of gaming is one of the keys to mainstream adoption.  I feel like gamers are more likely to use btc than general pop.

You are the second person in the last couple weeks that has had btc/crypto hacked out of a desktop wallet.  How can this happen to an encrypted wallet?

480  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-25]Report: Using Bitcoin is Legal in India on: April 26, 2016, 02:45:27 AM
Report: Using Bitcoin is Legal in India

There is a lot of concern across various countries in the world whether or not Bitcoin is legal in that particular region. A new research paper by Nishith Desai Associations shows how Bitcoin is legal in India, although there are still some regulatory concerns regarding cryptocurrency in the country...

At least they are not declaring it illegal but this does not necessarily make it legal.  Looks like there are many regulatory issues but this movement forward.
