461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are bitcoin cash machines becoming more popular? on: August 21, 2017, 06:54:14 AM
The global bitcoin Atms has doubled compared to last yesr but still there are countries without bitcoin Atms. The machine helps to buy and sell bitcoin in the community. As the users increases Atm  will also be increased. America and North American countries has more number of Atms.

well seems like its getting popular on some countries but unfortunately not on mine. i heard a long time ago that there are already a few number of bitcoin atms here but sadly i

haven't heard any news about it because thats the last. if its getting better i'm sure i would have heard any news right? but i didn't heard/read a single one means its not well

received here. there are probably two reasons why. first is atms are known for charging too much fees of course that also applies on bitcoin. second, i'm sure they would have

some verifications
well of course they charge fees; atm's, wether they belong to an individual or bank, bitcoin or not, are not a free service. they exist as a convenient way to access funds for people and ultimately benefit the owner (if it were a fiat bank, running an atm is cheaper than having personnel handle withdrawals and deposits 24 / 7; bitcoin atm's will function as a exchange and sell bitcoin for cash at a higher price than they will buy it for).
462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction. on: August 21, 2017, 05:54:52 AM
Become addicted to gambling because it expects to achieve alot of money in short time. I believe gambling for fun, if we achieve big winning. But if lost, of course there is a little emotion.
why would you expect to make money? that's a fool's mentality, like saying 'I'm expecting this coin flip to be heads 20 times out of 20.' it always boils down to being a game of chance; you wanting to win or thinking you're going to win has no effect on the matter.

Because gambling is easy to earn money especially if you win. Most people get addicted because this is the most popular activities it gives fun and profit to the people and gamblers. Even if sometimes we lose but it exciting when we gamble. It become addicted maybe of its price and the jackpot waiting for all. People become addicted due to their personal problems and stress so that they want escape that's why they go gamble.
'especially when you win.' really? winning is the only time you make money when you're gambling (assuming you're the one playing). also, stress and escapism aren't necessarily the only reasons;I think plenty of people get hooked just because it's fun, they don't have to hang ongoing problems to pick up a bad habit.
463  Local / 한국어 (Korean) / Re: Speak Korean and English? on: August 21, 2017, 03:09:56 AM
u need to use google translator if u want to understand😄😄
google translator is terrible for phrases longer than a single sentence, and even then the ordering of subject, verb, predicates, and objects in the sentence structure makes it confusing, not to mention google only does literal translations which may cause the resulting translation to not make any sense.

Google translation is a great tool to understand simple sentence s but it is not good to translate complex articles. I know some foreigners are using it and I dont understand sometimes.
exactly.
464  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: anyone "Legend Rank" in genesis-mining? on: August 20, 2017, 12:56:46 PM
What do u mean?
im guessing its a 'preferred customer' sort of thing on the site where you get better deals (% off future purchases as long as you retain the rank) because you've already put so much into the site. probably gets unlocked with a higher amount spent either over a period of time or total $ spent. it always benefits the business though; whatever discount you get, the business gives it to you because they're still turning a profit one way or another.
465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: August 20, 2017, 09:14:27 AM
gambling is wrong way to get profit, gambling just wasting your money, you will never get any profit in long term, better buying some vga and earning from mining
You are right but there are some mebers here are relying on gambling for their daily expenses im also one of them but im playing once a week on sports betting and put all my funds in one game only.
if you've read many threads in the gambling discussion so you must have read there's someone who earn income from gambling with a smarts way they can make a profit. it's true gambling is not intended for long term if you are not professional in gambling.

Hmm I also have confidence in someone who is earning that always stay in the gambling. Where they can get it because the intelligence they play gambling they do flow, but indeed it takes quite a long time in order to get results that match your expectations. One of the things that it does have to have is self control and analysis, if that's what you get 100% you will get many advantages.

There are strategies that could be studied and be benefited with the right application and the right emotion when gambling. For sure, there are ways that you could really profit from gambling all the time but it's probably a secret and would keep it to yourself because you won't know what could happen if there are a lot of people using your strategy.
your emotions have nothing to do with a game of chance. maybe it''ll cause you to gravitate towards poor decisions, but your emotions will have zero effect on the game itself. and unless the game is set in an environment where +EV is possible, you cannot reliably make profit. there is no secret to it. the few exceptions include poker, where a +EV is possible because of how the game is: you play vs the other players, not the house. the house stands to gain from a rake of the pot.

Those games that are based only on luck can not bring constant profit, but sports bets that can be analyzed with the right approach can make a profit. But I do not consider this a good option for earning.

They are really not the best way to make money and of course in many countries they are banned as well and illegal. I think sports betting is better than simply betting on dice and other casino games. All EV- games need luck and no skills are involved there - either you are lucky or not. But in Poker and sports betting there are ways to outsmart the opponent and you can use your skills to win the games.
sports betting is definitely one of the ways you can reliably make profit, but it requires a lot of research and time to reliably predict outcomes.
466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cash is better than Bitcoin. on: August 20, 2017, 06:01:37 AM
What are the reasons, why people use Cash or Credit Cards / ATM / Banks?

* Work offline 100%
* No fees.
* Accepted for Food Shopping & Micropayments
* 0 confermations time
* 0 exchange risks
* anyone is able to understanding of the value of payment
People are using fiat because it is legal to most of the countries unlike in Bitcoin wherein there are only few countries where Bitcoin is legal such as in Japan and North Korea. Also, Fiat has a physical value , and Bitcoin doesn't. Regular currency has more stable market value compared to the market value of Bitcoin that changes from time to time.
what do you mean by 'has physical value?' printed paper doesnt have value by itself, otherwise i'd be rich. fist currency only has value because 1) the government has declared that currency the legal tender of that nation / state, and 2) the people have faith in the currency and its general worth and trading power. fist currency is intrinsically valueless. if you want something with intrinsic worth, youd be looking at commodities like gold or silver. and regular currency is not by all means stable as you claim; when the brexit vote was finished and the results announced, the british pound tanked. the zimbabwe dollar is a historical testament to currency devauluation and hyperinflation; at its peak of inflation, the zimbabwe dollar was estimated to be inflated over 79 billion percent.
467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: should government involvement be there ? on: August 20, 2017, 12:18:09 AM
Governments do tax Bitcoin, maybe indirectly unless you mean something more aggressive. Bitcoin can successfully evade this things. It is not  Centralized, there is no way Government will win... no longer business as usual.  Governments will try to get what they want but   will only end up helping people create alternatives that will be harder or iimpossible to control.
bitcoin, maybe not, but a cryptocurrency created and backed by a government, i could definitely see it happening. however, this is only the case if cryptocurrency turns out to be the 'currency of the future,' and bitcoin lost out somewhere along the way. not totally impossible though. the new government crypto could be designed such that every transation has a separate fee that's sent to a tax address, sort of like how multibit HD implemented its small fee a few years back.

The very idea of Bitcoin would cease to exist if governments were to be involved in this. The price would definitely come crashing down as people would just lose interest in operating with btc. After all, it is so much about anonymity
i dont think its as much about anonymity as much as it is about decentralization. addresses and wallets are fairly trackable to some extent, and all transactions are viewable to the public.
468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction. on: August 19, 2017, 01:38:53 PM
Why is someone get addicted to gambling once he gamble ?
I think the reason behind why people addicted in gambling is the prize and they know that by playing in gambling will help them to get more income easily and instantly. In addition to that, some people are too greedy in playing gambling and they lose a huge amount of money and bitcoin. They get addicted in gambling because they know that they can make easy money. However, playing in gambling doesn’t make you rich.

people is curious with the prize and they still playing although they know that they can lose all the money. for the first time, people is not thinking that playing gambling can get them into addicting but later if they have playing gambling in many times, then i am sure they will become an addicting gamblers.

Addiction is a much difficult to understand. Its not only about gambling. There is an addiction to a lot of different things such as cigaretes, Alcohol, etc.
Addiction is coming from the brain. There are people that are tend to addict more than others.
its not that difficult to understand, its all biology. it has to do with the chemical dopamine released when you do something pleasurable (eating, drugs, sex, gambling, etc the list goes on); the excerpt from an article i pulled probably tells it better.
Quote
The brain registers all pleasures in the same way, whether they originate with a psychoactive drug, a monetary reward, a sexual encounter, or a satisfying meal. In the brain, pleasure has a distinct signature: the release of the neurotransmitter dopamine in the nucleus accumbens, a cluster of nerve cells lying underneath the cerebral cortex (see illustration). Dopamine release in the nucleus accumbens is so consistently tied with pleasure that neuroscientists refer to the region as the brain’s pleasure center.

All drugs of abuse, from nicotine to heroin, cause a particularly powerful surge of dopamine in the nucleus accumbens. The likelihood that the use of a drug or participation in a rewarding activity will lead to addiction is directly linked to the speed with which it promotes dopamine release, the intensity of that release, and the reliability of that release.

Even taking the same drug through different methods of administration can influence how likely it is to lead to addiction. Smoking a drug or injecting it intravenously, as opposed to swallowing it as a pill, for example, generally produces a faster, stronger dopamine signal and is more likely to lead to drug misuse.
over time, the brain adapts that makes the activity, which, in this case, would be gambling for many of the people on this board, less pleasurable and results in them seeking out more to achieve the same effect as before. the quote is taken straight from an article, im sure if you really wanted to understand it more you could just google search and learn how people's varying biological details causes a tendency for addiction and whatnot.

There is no solution to this your family , friends or any medicine can't help you with this. Gambling is a addiction which is from the mind and unless and until the gambler doesn't control his mind and emotions he won't be able to control is addiction at all. The only solution is to come from us and not any doctor

This is the reason why gamblers are not making any good updates about their "changing life". Gamblers always say that they will stop gambling and they will not be needing any help but the fact you said it, you are the opposite because you really needed help. Addiction is not that easy to cure, without the support of your friends and family, you will never be able to conquer it.
varies from person to person. some people need a family & friends intervention, some people need programs like alcoholics anonymous, and some can manage it on their own.
469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin supersedes Cash in the near future? on: August 19, 2017, 12:29:41 PM
Cash as in, notes? coins?

I think it will be hard to completely replace notes and coins. Governments will still need to take into consideration for older generations on their ability to pick up / use modern technology.
i dont think it has anything to do with the older generation, age gap, whatever. i personally think there will always be a need for a currency backed and accepted by a central organization, in this case the government of whatever country you belong to. bitcoin in itself is too volatile and personally, i don't think there's enough to go around for everyone and establish a global economy off of.

I think not exactly dominate our current currency but somehow became the major crypto currency in the market...It's really obvious that bitcoin is getting more popular and many people are now looking into bitcoin but it cannot supersedes cash because bitcoin somehow has limitations unlike cash.
thats not true. fiat currency has all the limitations; it's prone to inflation and only holds value because of the faith people place in that currency. fiat is easily influenced and can be devalued (in comparison to other similar fiat currecies), just look at what happened to the british pound after the brexit vote.
470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin be useful for governments and banks? on: August 19, 2017, 05:56:14 AM
bitcoin itself? maybe to an extent, I'm not sure on exactly how though. what has much more potential is blockchain technology; it can serve as a semi public record / ledger that could reduce costs in multiple areas of operation. however, I'm not sure they would want a completely decentralized and publicly accessible ledger.

Crypto-Currency could be useful for them, but in secret. As you said, if they want to fund someone or an organizarion on the another side of the world for an example without being tracked. Money for governments and banks isn't a problem, so I don't think they need to hold BTCs to make profit, they have already money, I believe the governments and banks intentions would be more about control than becoming rich.
as far as 'backdoor' trades and deals go, i think there'd still be a traceable money trail from buying the bitcoin, all things considered (im assuming theyre dealing with large sums of money, and therefore would be noticed). id definitely agree about their involvement in bitcoin being about control though; if they can control enough coin to affect the market, they could easily control the market and profit in massive amounts.

i received a pm with login details for a VPS server from OP.
I can confirm i was given login details to a 64 bit 8 physical core server with 16 gb of ram. the benchmark for the cpu on the server matches the hashrate given in the op's screenshot.
however, i cannot vouch for the server's reliability and stability.

475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to quit Gambling for good? on: August 18, 2017, 12:12:24 PM
To quit gambling forever you need to have a huge willpower and find yourself another occupation that will take up the time that stood out for gambling. You may need to control another person.
not really, you just need to stop. that's it. just. stop. you just need to accept that it's a harmful influence on your life (if that's the case; I'm assuming it is if someone's desperately trying to quit) and own it. you're the only person that ultimately controls what you do. and what's this about controlling another person? what?

Find something else that are brightly helpful to you, Because if you become an addict or already addicted unto it, it will be hard for you to quit and surrender it. The addiction was one of the reason why majority of the gambler can't leave the gambling sites. So, Why not change your game in PSP, or mobile android games, DOTA in desktop.
It is really hard to quit in gambling if we are already attached into it most especially if we can't control our ego, but if we can find something else that can make us entertained and not bored then that is also good. Online games can also help but maybe it is not that good, it is helpful if that addicted person can do zumba or jogging, or maybe go to gym for his/her fitness.
delete Facebook, hit the gym, lawyer up (great if you got the meme)
476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Worst mistake in gambling on: August 18, 2017, 12:00:28 PM
I think that the worst mistake to do when you gamble is trying to make big profits in short period of time. Wining in gamble comes with smart moves and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Being greedy will only lead to one result; an empty bankroll.

To be greedy is always bad, no matter in gambling or in other field, but with gambling you see the effect immediately. I consider gambling a good teacher in that regard, you can learn great lessons from your mistakes in gambling.

Yeah, gambling always give the gamblers lesson and also in gambling we did a lot of worst mistakes and sometime we learn and many time we don't learn. But it is other matter. Sure in gambling we lose because of greediness, in gambling we all have high greedy and hard to control it, even we try it but sure our worst mistake is coming when we cross our limit and get lose in gambling.

Setting a limit is very importan, I agree. This limit shouldn't be over the amounht that you can afford to lose in one day and after you lose it, you shouldn't deposit on a gambling site again in the same day. Thus you'll be safe and you can gamble to your pleasure.

Set a limit and stop after lost it all or hit the target profit will be so hard to follow at first. But we have to force it in the hope soon or later we will be familiar with such method and can enjoy the game without the need to worry about the bad result that may occur at the end.
setting the limit is easy, it's actually following through that most people have a problem with. they fall into the mindset that because they lost, just rolling again with more cash will even their losses out (gamblers fallacy). it doesn't always work out, but the one time it does keeps them coming back because they either rolled away money they needed or can't handle the loss mentally. it's just a bad slippery slope to even set foot on.

477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many Bitcoins needed for martingale on: August 18, 2017, 04:35:20 AM
With a more than 10 BTC bankroll you can survive for 29 consecutive losses, on the 30º you need to win otherwise you lose all the Bitcoins... It's not a good deal to risk such amount for 1 satoshi profit. Better to mix your gameplay with another strategies.

that's not correct. all you've shown is the bets that would result as the number of losses increases given a 1 satoshi bet on a 50 / 50 roll doubling on loss. first off, you didnt take into account that the bankroll decreases as you lose consecutive bets, and thus your last 'roll' would be a lot lower than you think to present it here.

I don't understand so much love for Martingale strategy.

The only reason for its popularity is that under certain conditions(lots of money and time) it gives a predictable outcome in terms of profits. It’s not a sure bet, but it’s about as close as you can get.

There is no fix amount you would need even if casino doesn't limit it. This strategy would rob you off your time and money. Martingale strategy bring with it a huge chance of getting you broke. So as always said bring the amount you can afford to lose in gambling and if you are lucky enough you can earn in that too.
two things come to mind: gambler's fallacy and that its probably the first strategy that newcomers think of that both automate betting and seems to provide a relatively safe method of stable betting. I think its something that just about everyone that people just getting into the gambling scene try out at least a few times.

Not true, R4's were specifically designed to be used in residential living spaces, quiet and pull less than 1kW each.  If you can find/get one that doesn't go on the fritz after a time you'll love it!  Too bad they're so flaky...
i did some looking around on it; this is definitely something i would definitely consider buying in a month or two. really appreciate the input. i gotta ask though, what do you mean when you say they're 'flaky?' I'm assuming you mean they break / burn out easily, but just want to make sure.
too bad theyre all sold out and second hand prices are about ~2500 usd, if anyone knows where i can actually get one of these at a reasonable price, please do tell, and also if you own one of these and can tell me more about how its operation / heat output / reliability.
479  Economy / Gambling / Re: Investing in btc casinos on: August 17, 2017, 04:51:56 AM
Investing in Bitcoin casinos is not bad . But I don't prefer to do such a thing. I have rarely seen people who make huge profits by investing in such things. Like if you see the ratio of people who have won and who have lost then you would see most of the people have faced losses compared to profit. It's an addiction , which would lead you to lose all your money. Even i used to bet a lot and I used to win , then I became more greedy which lead to me loosing all my money . Then I decided to quit every such thing and just earn the Normal way in which there is no risk and buying things directly from that money.
its not meant to make you a huge profit, but its moreso a way to expect a profit in the long run above all else. investing in a casino, which profits off of players playing in a -EV environment, can expect a positive EV for themselves and the investors. a year or so ago i put about 0.2 into a casino and ended up profiting around 0.025 in a month's period, all for doing nothing. could i have made much more by simply playing even 1 game? sure, but i would have run the risk of loss.

if you get 0.025 from a 0.2 investment in a month I would call it a fantastic investment!
show me a place where you can get 12.5% monthly and I will be happy to invest
usually it is not THAT profitable, but so much depends on variance and luck of the players
in the long run you are guaranteed to profit,so it can serve as a source of income
and keep you from selling bitcoins too early,HODL by investing  Grin

it was on bitvest right when it opened, and i went back and looked just now, it was over a period of about 2 months rather than 1, but still, that much over a 2 month period beats any investment you can get on wall street (as far as percentage profit vs time goes). it was very soon after the site opened though, so the initial rush of people mightve had a lot to do with it. i started a new investment there the other day, so ill be finding out soon how big an impact that surge of users had. but yes, id definitely agree theres way too much variance for a reliable rate of income to be determined off an investment on a gambling site, all you can really determine is that you're expected to profit in the long run.
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Worst mistake in gambling on: August 16, 2017, 08:00:38 AM
What are some the more idiotic and stupid mistakes that you know you shouldn't have made but did anyway. Yes this includes other none gambling stuff like sending btc to the wrong address. I'm interested to find out the stupid things other people do.  Roll Eyes

My biggest mistake was trying the Martingale strategy on a dice game. I started with a very small bet like 0.0001 Bitcoins. If you win you keep betting 0.0001 which means the winnings are very small if you lose, you double the bet.

I got on a long losing streak. At 10 losses in a row the bet got to 0.1024 Bitcoins which is starting to get to serious money. I had to stop before I lost my whole bankroll. I ended up losing a lot but not everything.

You are not alone in this experience.  Many of us experience this kind of losing streak.  The secret on this is that we must know how much bankroll we need to accomodate long series of losing streak.  If our bankroll is just a small one then, this kind of method would incur trauma to the player  Grin.
theoretically, no amount of bankroll is enough, there's always that possibility that you'll just keep losing, no matter how much you might think you'll win (gamblers fallacy). this is the same mistake a lot of gambling newbies make thinking martingale is an unbeatable strategy, only to lose after a dozen consecutive losses.

personally though, I hit a 99x roll off the faucet the other day while waiting for an investment deposit to come in, imagine if I put my deposit on that roll instead  Roll Eyes
