461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong perspective towards Bitcoin investment on: January 19, 2024, 05:56:47 AM
The issue of getting rich quick isn't something that many adopters take seriously, as they've come to believe it is the only way to make a quick profit.
Because it is true if it works. I don't see anything wrong in this belief. but the thing is not everyone can become rich like that. except some lucky people. this method won't work for rest.

I recently stumbled upon a guy few days back who happens to be a anti-bitcoinist. He showed his frustration and condemned Bitcoin in a way that got my attention. I was eager to know why someone would have hatred for a life changing opportunity like Bitcoin, so I had to ask.

From his reply, he said he came across a Bitcoin mining website that was shared via a YouTube video. The mining site mines Bitcoin in small quantities, which he decided to buy some mining power to accumulate faster. He successfully purchased one of the mining power worth $80, but the site eventually shut down a week later without allowing any withdrawals.

His reply got me laughing because I quickly pointed out two things from what he said:
1. He was eager to get quick profit from an $80 investment but ended up getting scammed.
2. During my early days in crypto, I often came across these demo-like websites and have also fallen victim.

It was very clear to me that some ethusiast who promote Bitcoin don't talk about the risk part of it, while those who adopt Bitcoin on their own don't learn about the risk part of it.

I couldn't just leave him hanging with that mentality towards Bitcoin. I showed him some love by converting $10 worth of Bitcoin from my personal funds, sending it to him, and also sent him the BTT link so he can learn from a large Bitcoin community. I have done my part, and I repeat: there is no such thing as getting rich quick. I am glad he has joined the community, but wouldn't want to be mentioned.

Thanks for reading, and do well to share your opinion.
It is sad to know what happened with your friend. but he shouldn't blame Bitcoin for what he did. It was his stupidity to fall for an obvious scam like that. if he could've done little bit reserach about those cloud mining websites he would've find out immediately that it was a scam. but he was a newbie and naive so we give advantage of that.
I am glad that you helped him with little bit money and encouraged him to use bitcoin. I hope his trust will be restored and he'll start using bitcoin sensibly this time.
462  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: January 19, 2024, 05:36:42 AM
It's really a personal decision and others should not meddle into someone else's business.
This logic can apply to irrelevant people. outsiders. but what do you think about close family members. parents, spouses etc? do you think these people also should not meddle in someone's personal matters even if it is an addiction like gambling?
I think it is a natural thing that our close family members get concerned about bad habits of acitivities we have and whenever they find about them. they try to warn us sometime with love and sometime rudely because they reallly care about us.
And this is also a reason why people keep their gambling habits secrets to close relatives because they know these are the people who try to stop them. while others might not care about that.
463  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto exchanges 2023 annual report by TokenInsight on: January 19, 2024, 04:26:39 AM

ORCA lead the race for Dex with an unbelievable surge towards the end of the year due to the gains in Solana ecosystem.
first time hearing about ORCA. I didn't know an exchange like that existed. maybe because I am not into SOLANA tokens. I should really look into them. I think there are good earning opportunities in SOLANA Tokens.
I thought panecakeswap or uniswap would be in the top because these are the excahgnes most people use.

Although, Binance market share  dropped by 5 5% due to factors related to regulatory compliance and lawsuit against the CEO in November but overall, the exchange was able to maintain its lead unlike what happened in the DEX where GMT and dydx lost the position as top market share holders
I don't think binance will loose top position just because of CEO change or any problem with old CEO. but if new CEO don't do a good job and maintain the quality of services then it is possible that binance would drop this year. they've been listing tokens too fast now.
464  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why don't you use DEX? on: January 18, 2024, 06:09:09 PM
Because people find DEXes, when dealing with fiat at least to be less convenient, slower, and have a lack of liquidity so they don't mind giving up their identity if that means being able to buy and sell within a couple of minutes.
yeah. people really are willing to give up on their identity because of little convenience but I think it is a natural thing. humans are natually impatience specially when there are alternative and faster ways they don't see the bigger picture.
and the lack of convenient in DEX is also a problem. I wish they could've solved that. then it would've been a lot better for everyone to get rid of CEX and completely live on DEX exchanges. I mean no one like KYC. everyone do that because of that particular reason.
I myself use DEX whenever I can. they are good source for trading/swaping tokens. they just not good for P2p.
465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever regretted selling your bitcoins ? on: January 18, 2024, 05:54:44 PM
We've all been there, that moment of realization when you remember selling your precious Bitcoins years ago and wonder if you missed the boat.  Well, take a deep breath, because im here to remind you that in the world of crypto, time is always on our side!

It might sting a bit to think about what could have been if you held onto those BTC, but let's not forget the golden rule of crypto: it's a marathon, not a sprint. The market is dynamic, and opportunities are ever-present.
Well said bro. it really hurts to think that we missed the gold time when we could have earned and saved bitcoins that now worth thousands of dollars. but it is also true that Crypto is merathon and there will always be new opportunities for everyone getting into it.
I also regret some time that why I didn't stack up bitcoins when I had the chance and when it was very cheap. but we must understand and move on from that. and buckle up for new rides in crypto world.
All we can do now is earn as much as possible and HODL because there will be even bigger bull market than before previous one.
466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MetaMask's Secret Project Could Shake Up How Ethereum Works on: January 18, 2024, 05:11:33 PM
an early version of SMG's new routing tech is already being used to power "Smart Swaps," a feature in the MetaMask browser extension that helps users swap between tokens.

In the past, a MetaMask user looking to sell tokens would have needed to submit a transaction specifying exactly how, where, and for what price they wanted their tokens to be sold. With Smart Swaps, which is an "opt-in" feature based around intents, a user can simply request that MetaMask sell their tokens for the best price it can find.

Once MetaMask fully transitions Smart Swaps over to its new architecture, it will be powered by an underground ecosystem of third-party blockchain operators. These third parties will find the optimal route for a given swap, and they will then execute the requisite transactions on the user's behalf.
Compared to a simple exchange aggregator that finds the best price for an asset by comparing different exchanges, Smart Swaps, with its new routing tech, will have total freedom over the path that it takes to satisfy a user's request.

Consensys says it plans to expand its routing feature beyond Smart Swaps to other transaction types in the coming months, and it will also make it available to third parties that wish to use it themselves. On MetaMask, the technology will always be "optional," meaning users won't have to use it if they don't want to.

MetaMask's Secret Project Could Shake Up How Ethereum Works

If I am not wrong, the feature they are working to roll out is something like an instant exchange (correct me if I am wrong). And this feature is not really something new that can change the way that Ethereum network and Metamask have delusion like that can control the market if they add an exchange feature but it will never be as good as what we like to achieve with limit orders in exchanges.

That feature sounds fancy. it would make things a lot easier for users. most wallets already have Token Swap features in them including Metamask itself. but automtic everything is different.
It also make me thing about the security and safety of users. giving metmask the persmission to sell your tokens. is kinda sounds like we are loosing our authority and ownership here in some way. (maybe I didn't udnerstnad it properly). is that safe then?
maybe this is how metamask finally start making money out of the users.
if this feature gets mass adoption by web3 community. a lot of defi protocols will loose a big number of their users in it.
467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Coins: Over 50% of Cryptocurrencies Have Failed on: January 18, 2024, 04:38:43 PM
https://www.coingecko.com/research/publications/how-many-cryptocurrencies-failed
"How Many Crypto Coins Have Died?
Over 50% of all cryptocurrencies have died. Of the over 24,000 cryptocurrencies listed on CoinGecko since 2014, 14,039 have died.

Most dead cryptocurrencies came from projects launched during the 2020 - 2021 bull run. 7,530 cryptocurrencies from that period have died, accounting for 53.6% of all dead cryptocurrencies on CoinGecko. Over 11,000 cryptocurrencies were listed on CoinGecko during the previous bull run, with ~70% having shut down since."

___
Officially, only 50% are scam and unsuccessful projects
Wow. 24000 Cryptocurrencies. that is a huge amount of cryptocurrencies. and I think that is why 50% of them failed. too much of something is never a good thing. I am sure another 50% of active coins are also don't worth anything. and most of them will be dead too sooner or later.
CoinGecko literally listed every single shit token/coin out there. Coinmarketcap have 8700 coins listed. and I was thinking that is huge. CoinGecko made a lot of money from all those dead coins as a listing fee I think. lol
Except 200 to 300 Cryptocurrencies. rest of them all are worthless.
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying house rent with bitcoin is it appropriate? on: January 18, 2024, 03:07:40 PM
Glancing through the article https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-rent-agreement-argentina-landlord-tenant one would conclude adoption is striving in Argentina. Paying for a house with bitcoin sounds to me a mistake or lack of financial knowledge. Bitcoin is better than Fiat. Bitcoin increases in value and fiat faces inflation. Why then would one spend Bitcoin instead of fiat on a house rent which may expire in few years? Accommodating the Bitcoin can birth the person more money to pay his next house rent. But fiat wouldn't add any interest in the bank. Moreover the house owner will not hold the Bitcoin.

It is true that Bitcoin Can increase, but it can also decrease. so it is risky for landlord too to accept bitcoin. what if Bitcoin decreases and the landlord loses his money? the thing is I don't think people think about future of Bitcoin when doing live dealings.
they are paying house rent according to current bitcoin price at that time. now if bitcoin price increase or decrease it is totally depend on the market.
and I don't think landlord would keep the bitcoins after taking rent. he would probably sell them off and secure his money unless he's a Bitcoin Lover.  also think about those people who makiing a living earning bitcoin, like so many people in this forum. if they don't spend their bitcoin by thinking it will increase in future then how would they suppose to cover their expenses?
469  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto investment vs real estate investment : Which one more dependable? on: January 18, 2024, 02:37:19 PM
Personally, I find both of these areas trustworthy.
Yes but also both of these areas have multiple risk factors. we should not forgat that at all.  especially in cryptocurrency. because of market volatility in prices. and so many scam projects coming everyday. i think Cryptocurrency need more experience and skills than real estate in this manner.

The point is that you must clearly understand your type of investment and the time to start is also very important. Crypto is more flexible in terms of investment capital, while real estate is the opposite in terms of large capital resources, even requiring mortgage to borrow from banks. The economy is going into recession in 2023 and may last until 2024, so arranging issues to choose capital sources and types of investment is important. I prefer investing in cryptocurrencies for this reason.
You are right about that. Real Estate is better with large captial and resources. OP have a small capital so I think Cryptocurrency is best for OP . with only $2K+ capital he can do a lot in cryptocurrency trade in mulitple altcoins, buy some bitcoin in long term etc.
but with that much there is very little to do in real estate.
470  Economy / Economics / Re: How will the BRICS currency influence Bitcoin? on: January 18, 2024, 01:31:29 PM
The creation of BRICS currency as an alternative to Bitcoin is a kind of fantasy or unrealistic. If countries want to unite and introduce a single currency system the influence of the largest and most powerful economy must be accepted. Apart from the core BRICS countries other countries are also doing business in local currencies. But creating an alternative to Bitcoin would be an attempt to change the structure of global governance in general terms.
they are not creating an alternative of bitcoin. they are creating an alternative of Euro and USD. I don't think they claimed anything like that. but by the look of that. it is more like a join currency of BRICs Like Euro.
Creating an alternative of Bitcoin is not a new thing. we alreadh have thousands of them. they are Called "Altcoin" if you don't know  Grin Grin

The "fight" that you guys have about UK or USA or basically just lets say "west" to nations the in the east, such as Russia and China, is lovely to see by people who are not from any of those nations. I suggest you keep that up, we love it when West fights East, and vice versa, it benefits us the most.

I do hope that USA economy crashes, I also hope Chinese one too, and UK too and Russia too, when that happens, it always benefits us from smaller nations, at least nations that are not that big. We benefit from the crumbs when the cake is gone, and if it is like this, I am all for it. I believe that the reality is that crypto will be getting greater and greater, we are going to keep seeing people invest a lot more to it.
how will the falling economy of big countries benefit small nations? I am not understanding what you are trying to say. I don't think falll of those countries would benefit small countries. there are a lot of countries who are dependent on the loans and financial help of these countries. if they fall then these countries will suffer too. and other countries will Indirectly be affected as well.
471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in meme coins is worthy or not? on: January 18, 2024, 01:00:03 PM
I don't trust new projects with inexperienced teams. I've been burned by several solid projects with new teams that couldn't deliver on their promises. Recently, I came across an airdrop for an upcoming meme project called DingDang. The interesting part is that the team successfully launched Kikswap in 2022, which performed well. The presale participants gained a 10x return at launch, and they raised 506 BNB in the initial seed sale. With many trending meme coins in the market, I'm considering investing in DingDang during its early stages. What are your thoughts on whether it's worth it or not?

Website and Whitepaper link are below:
Web: https://dingdang.io/
Whitepaper: https://dingdang.io/whitepaper.pdf

I think it can give a good return on investment if it gets listed in famous CEX exchanges. BitMart, Bybit and Lbank are added as "Upcoming" in their website. so if they succeed to list their token in all these exchanges then there are good chances of earning a good profit out of this token.
Usually there is no other use of memcoins. just buy them low and sell them high. or buy them for fun or support their community if you are OK with losing your money.
But this particular one have big promises. their website says about various utilities and NFTs collections. I am not sure if they can deliver or not but if they can then earning potential might increase even more.
472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about filecoin? on: January 18, 2024, 12:40:28 PM
I want to know your opinion about filecoin, this coin was created in 2017 if I guess right, it got to $238 in 2021 which was the ATH. As of today, the price is back to $4.5. That was a huge price drop, but I like the saying that a drop in price of a coin is an opportunity to buy, this is true for bitcoin because bitcoin will attain ATH, but not all altcoins were about to attain ATH. With what I am seeing about filecoin, I am thinking it can get to that price again which would be a huge opportunity, but I do not know much about the coin. Anyone that knows more about this coin can post here to let me know if the coin is worth going for or not. Thanks in advance.
what makes you think that filecoin can get to that price again? I saw this coin trading in Binance. but never traded it myself. I don't see anything special in file coin. I don't know why it reached to $2380 in all time high. the total supply is so huge which make me thing that was probably early day hype of that coin.
Mate I think if you are looking for good projects/coin then there are many other options you can consider. even if you want to invest in filecoin you can do that. but I would not suggest you to expect it to reach to all time high again. i don't think this coin is good for hodling for long term purpose.

473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I buy BNB now? on: January 18, 2024, 06:28:11 AM
buying coins in the big market as long as it's not after halving, it's never too late. unless there are events outside the norm, for example the luna incident which destroyed the coin price. if there are no strange events and it's not after halving, buying coins in the top bigmarket is never too late.
but we can never know when such incidents happen. the disaster of Luna was very sudden for the crypto community, and no one got a chance to save themselves. lots of people lost thousands of dollars because of that. in this crypto world, we can't know when something like that happen again. so it is better to always keep the possibility in mind when making investment decisions.
BNB and Binance were also attacked many times. see what happened with CZ recently. and then so much fud was created against Binance and CZ by haters, but Luckily that BNB survived that. otherwise, it could've been a disaster like Luna and FTX too. but we never know if it would survive more incidents like that or not.

Good/Bad news Manta Token Airdrop

L33 nft jo 0.4 Ethereum ma tha ab wo direct down huwa 0.16 eth ko yani 2x se b down. Sab se ziada profit Tier 1 wale ko huwabjo 3$ ma bel rahe the aur token 5 se ziada mele yani direct 5x profit. Jo bare machli k shikar ma the wo loss kar gae.

Yaha par apne nft k token check kar skate ha. https://Newparadigm.manta.network
476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin hidden gems. on: January 15, 2024, 11:45:00 AM
TON is a hope for me and many project ecosystems that have just been born from this big project, may not yet show any significance at this time. I feel like the bull season will come quickly, the promotion of new projects from the TON ecosystem such as tontogether is currently in process where people who participate in staking tokens up can get a tontogether coin allocation later in February and other projects such as TIA, COSMOS, ETHEREUM, BRC20 are being hyped
Ton is a project I am very bullish on too. I think Ton has Good potential. and it is is finally getting the recognization it deserves. I can see new projects are slowly building on Ton Blockchain, and most of them are very successful.
First TonUp came with huge success and now Tontogether is launching their IDO in TonUp. I believe this will open a huge door of new projects and new earning opportunities for Ton community.
Tia and Cosmos are good too. BRC20 tokens on other end are in huge hype right now but I am very spetcial about their future, I feel like they'll be like other NFTS and their Creaze will reduce with time, they might be profitable for those who get in early. but I don't advice anyone to see them as long term. get in and get out.

477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How you can build trust in the crypto community? on: January 15, 2024, 11:34:08 AM
Hi everyone.

I'm the creator of Cogitex, and I'm reaching out to you with questions to better understand what matters to people.

How can you build trust in the crypto community, and what do you think Cogitex can do to earn your trust?

I'm ready to hear from each and every one of you. Share your experiences and ideas. Do you think the development of Cogitex and cryptocurrencies in general can be improved?
I don't see any link to your website in your post.  after searching the name, I found Cogitex.org I assume it is your website. if yes then My advice to gain community trust are:

1: Stop doing a Direct ICO, instead Run an IDO in a trusted exchange or launchpad.
2: If the partners listed their are real. then get verification posts from them in Twitter and Link them with their logos in the website (I don't think they are actual partners as @Adigvcdh said which make it misleading to the community. stop that . and get actual partners. it is not hard and will increase your trust a lot)
3: Add team details in your website, who is working behind this project.
4: Don't try to scam people.
478  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Step you have to take before venturing into the market on: January 15, 2024, 11:01:54 AM
I definitely agree.

You will also need some self-discipline in order to execute those things you have mentioned. It might be hard in the beginning but as the days goes by, you'll earn enough experience that will teach you how and when you need to apply each of those. Most of the newbies always think trading as a quick rich scheme, that's why they always in a hurry using a high leverage hoping to make a big profit in a very short period of time, resulting to a very huge loss.
you are damn right bro. Self-discipline and patience are two of the most important requirements for trade. Believe me man most of the money lost by newbies is lost because of a lack of these two things. they start trading thinking that they'll earn some money quickly. so they buy a spicific token. but as crypto is volatile so some time that token's price start dropping which is normal in market. Experienced and knowledgeable traders know that so they Don't bother much. but newbies and unexperienced trading don't know anything and start panicking, and when they panic they loose patience and end up selling the token with lose..
so Newbies should always learn every aspect of trading before starting. and if they don't have self-discipline they should avoid trading at first place unless they are willing to take risks.
479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: January 15, 2024, 10:50:28 AM
El Salvador President Nayib Bukele says "so, we got in way before BlackRock."

https://twitter.com/WatcherGuru/status/1745229174829203803?t=uJrbZf_q3F0UkrkXzM7weA&s=19
He Rosted Blackrock so well, hahaha. also I can tell he's very proud of that because of the obvious reasons. they adopted Bitcoin at the  govt level at a time when no other country or big company was ready for that. and now Big corporations and countries like blackrock are trying to get in Bitcoin after realizing they've been missing literally worlds one of the biggest technologies which also can be a money-making machine.
Because Blackrock and All those asset management companies obviously don't care about Bitcoin's core purpose. they are all only after money.

Salvadoran Bitcoin usage in 2023 is unusual

88% of Salvadorans did not use bitcoin in their transactions in 2023, even though it has been legal tender since 2021, a survey by the private Central American University (UCA) confirmed this.

When asked, "In 2023, have you ever used Bitcoin to buy or pay for something?", 85% said they had never used it, 3% had never used it, and 12% said they had used it.

https://ticotimes.net/2024/01/11/salvadoran-bitcoin-use-uncommon-in-2023
there could be two reasons for that. First not having proper awareness about Bitcoin, second Bitcoin's high transaction fee and time in confirming. for us it might not be a big problem. for for daily buy/sell stuffs in real life we need an instant method of payment. and bitcoin is not suitable for that. that is why I think people hesitate to use bitcoin in regular transactions.
