462  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin is the only crypto you should BUY on: January 26, 2024, 01:54:00 AM
I know this is an old thread, but had to jump in to share my two satoshis.  I am by far a supporter of bitcoin over all other types of cryptocurrency, but there are a couple others out there that have legit utility as well as upside potential investment wise.  I think Monero is the second most legit crypto coin.  Truly private transactions is pretty bad ass, though I don't think that's how bitcoin should ever be (number or reasons).  Litecoin is nice for quick and cheap transactions.  I know Ethereum is centralize and a total shitcoin and what not, but I do still see a sizable bit of upside in that coin.
463  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy BTC NOW? on: January 26, 2024, 01:49:52 AM
I personally think it's a pretty good time to buy bitcoin being that it has fallen below the 40,000 mark. (which pisses me off but that another story).  I think once institutional clients at firms like Blackrock that have opened bitcoin ETFs find out how easy it is to buy now, they'll jump on board..but we need another spike.

I of course as always would recommend dollar cost averaging in..because who really knows.
464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: USA Super Bowl winner on: January 26, 2024, 01:46:30 AM
The Ravens and the Niners have the best change of meeting up in the Super Bowl.  As I mentioned in the other NFL thread, I could see the Chiefs being able to knock off the Ravens, but I can't see the Lions upsetting the Niners.  I guess some of it will come down to if Deebo Samuel plays and how healthy he is, or isn't.

They are both going to be very exciting games to watch. I can't wait.
465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: January 26, 2024, 01:44:00 AM
I'm looking forward to the Chicago Bulls versus LA Lakers tomorrow night.  Right now the spread is at -4.5 in favor of the Lakers.  The Bulls are the only team I really follow closely being that they are my favorite team, but of course I'm well aware of Lebron James.  We have hardly ever beaten him in the past..hope that will change lol.  Amazing how good he still is.
466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 26, 2024, 01:35:14 AM
I agree, I just can't see the Lions being able to beat the Niners.  The Niners have the best RB in the game and then you've got Aiyuk and Deebo whom are two of the best WRs and of course Kittle being one of the best TEs.  Not to metion they've got a very solid defense.  Purdy aint too bad himself.
I agree on this as well, the Lions are too young and inexperienced, give them a few years and their players will develop even more and become a serious menace, but right now most of their start players are rookies or second year players with no playoff experience at all, while the 49ers are full of veterans that have been to the SB before, the only way I could see the Lions upsetting the 49ers is if the same weather conditions presented themselves for the game, Purdy got some problems trying to pass effectively with the football completely wet, and this could make the result way more dependent on the line of scrimmage and the running game, besides the 49ers really need Deebo to make a recovery or the passing game may suffer, given that whenever he has not been on the field we know the 49ers have struggle to get the win.

I mean at the end of the day the Lion still have Goff who sure he's been very solid, but he's still Jarrod Goff, I just don't see him going to the big dance. Yeah the Niners need Deebo in a big way.  I hope he's able to play.

The Ravens Chiefs game is another story.  I could easily see that going either way, though I think the Ravens should win this one.  Going to be a fun weekend of games.

I wish the Chiefs Ravens game was on Fox so we could get it in "4k".

I'm going with the unpopular vote.  I'm betting on a cheofs and lions superbowl.  Think in the 49ers armor last week and lions are looking like they are on a mission.  Amon Ra with 130 yards amd 2 tds to shut up any doubters on his pro bowl sub.  Amd now that I said that here comes a Baltimore and 49ers superbowl 😂

I could see the Chiefs beating the Ravens, but I just can't see the Niners losing to the Lions. We will see how the game script goes lol.  Now way America want's the Lions in the SB.  I mean beside and underdog story and what not, they are clearly the least popular team of whos left.
467  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial education and why it should be a priority. on: January 24, 2024, 11:01:16 PM
As a long time financial advisor I can't stress enough how important it is to educate yourself on basic financial principles, as well as to try to dig in even further.  At the very least consulting a financial professional for help is highly recommended if needed.

I also couldn't agree more than schools should be teaching basic finance, which they don't, which is INSANE.  I mean teach basic finance, how to cook, how to do laudry etc.  Not how to write in cursive etc.
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the rush to gain profit in crypto? on: January 24, 2024, 10:57:41 PM
The most annoying thing to me about this forum or just forums /social media sites in general when it comes to cryptocurrency or more specifically bitcoin, is the whole "profit" thing.   "How to profit" blah blah blah.  Yeah sure it's great owning bitcoin and making money from it with increases in price, but for me it's truly about the technology and what it brings to the table in terms of the blockchain, decentralized etc.
469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling and religious restrictions on: January 24, 2024, 10:55:30 PM
I know I'm probably going to offend some people with this comment but religion is mans way of dealing with death.  There's thousands of religions and every single one of them claim that they are the "one true religion/one true god".  What a bunch of malarkey.

If they are so concerned about hiding something from their religion, than why are they Muslim to begin with?  This is where I just find religion to be ridiculous.  I spent the first 18 years of my like growing up catholic.  I don't need them telling me what to do.

But yes, cryptocurrency just makes it easier to gamble in general.  Was a game changer for me.
470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING DISORDER on: January 24, 2024, 10:48:55 PM
A lot of replies already, but I felt it important to chime in.  First off take a deep breath and understand that there is absolutely a light at the end of the tunnel.  Typically people have to hit rock bottom before they can "clean" themselves up.  If you're truly ready for change, then it's time to seek professional help.  There are a lot of free gambling addiction websites, as well as going to see a counselor could be a great way to get back on the right path.

I truly wish you the best of luck!

What do you think @DireWolfM14, since these are your boys

I'm scared.  Not because I think the Lions are that good, but when the Niners suck they really, really suck.  Plus, I'm trying to not jinx anything by being overly confident.  Not to mention, Shanahan-coached teams have a history of chocking in big games.

Having said that, I tend to agree with your logic.  Assuming Deebo is ready, the line will go up.  And if the Niners show up the way they are expected to, I don't see the Lions causing us much trouble.

The 49ers will win, however, -7 points might be too much trust on Brock Purdy. But I am not an expert hehe.

But if I am asked which of these underdogs might bring the fans the upset, it might be the Chiefs, I reckon. Patrick Mahomes during a very importsnt game against a better team is the type of challenge that brings the very best out of this type of player.

In any case, for the superbowl I want the 49ers and the Ravens to win.

472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETFs - Good or Bad? on: January 23, 2024, 07:21:56 PM
Bitcoin ETFs are a very good thing for bitcoin in my opinion  I am honestly surprised that it has fallen under 40k like it has, but I do believe it will bounce back relatively soon, and I think a big part of why it's going to come back and then some is the bitcoin ETFs.  These big institutions have tons of clients with tons of money and they will eventually flow in to bitcoin.
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If satoshi shows he has still controll of all of his coins what would happen ? on: January 23, 2024, 07:19:26 PM
I don't care what anyone says, I am certain in the belief that Satoshi knew form day one exactly what he was going to do and how he was going to do it in terms of creating/setting up that wallet and then never moving coins out of it.  So I don't think theres any chance that we ever see him come back again.  It would be great of course as bitcoin needs help IMO.
474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to manage gambling winnings on: January 23, 2024, 07:16:55 PM
I don't get why you don't use cryptocurrency sites to do your gambling/placing sports bets.  For me that was the huge game changer once Bovada started allowing bitcoin.  I personally am not a big fan of the regulated sites here in the US.  It just makes everything more complicated and difficult in my opinion.

That said I've been hearing they are improving, so maybe they'll eventually start accepting crypto.
475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your state on mind if your son stole your money to gamble? on: January 23, 2024, 07:12:49 PM
It doesn't matter what they stole, how they stole it, what they used it for and even if they stole money to gamble and made  millions, I would feel the same way regardless..very upset.  If they stole money and won a bunch, sure that's great but it would certainly be a teaching lesson and they would be grounded for a very long time if it were me.
476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 23, 2024, 07:10:51 PM
Some fun games this past weekend to say the least! I think I got most of my bets correct except for the Niners Packers game, I really thought they would beat them by more.  Man, it's scary as a Bears fan seeing how much better Love has been getting.

I Ravens Chiefs is going to be one hell of a game I think.  I think the Niners will wax the Lions but hey, any given sunday right.

Do you guys who live outside the US get the Fox games in "4k"?   Here Fox is the only station that has 4k, though it's actually not true 4k, it looks really nice though.  I wish both games were on Fox.

Probably belongs here most- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=261.0

But once in a blue moon some threads should be on multiple boards and this is one of those times. I think it’s kinda frowned upon unless it truly fits in both sections, which this does.

(Note: the slab is a bit scratched in a few places. I will try and clean it and post more photos soon)

Opening up to offers atm. I would prefer to fly and meet the buyer anywhere agreed upon in the US. I’ve got flier miles I’m wanting to burn and for a coin of this value I’d just prefer to not mail it if possible. Depending whether I know you or not, your trust score, how long you’ve been on the forum etc, some sort of escrow will likely be required for both our safety.

Some semi recent sales of similar coins :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5437215.0 (Series 2 ..so more rare/valuable)

Will look for more sales soon/check the auction houses.

Lastly - I will not discuss sale outside this forum.  If we converse via DMs, make sure it’s me /my account you’re conversing with. Thanks to scammers who are constantly reading all these threads we have to be careful.

Tho of freaking course Love looks to be a rising star. My god, GB has some sort of QB drafting cheat code.

It's not a cheat code they draft and have them sit behind the veteran for a year or 2 or 3 to learn the system before throwing them to the dogs.

You're not wrong at all.  That's how it used to be where rookies would come in, sit for 2-3 years and learn the nfl.  Now it's just fire them out there and cross your fingers it works out.  Most of these kids are shell-shocked out of the league before they shoukd have even been starting.

With that being said it's fooooootball time!! Love this time of year.  Enjoy the games fellas

There’s def something to that for sure. Tho Favre and Rodgers are two of the best ever, so they’d likely still have been great regardless but preparing before being thrown in certainly helps a lot. I understand throwing in say Cam Newton (imo best college player ever), andrew Luck, and others who were clearly NFL ready from the start. Not that sitting behind someone for a year wouldn’t still have been very helpful.

Praying Caleb Williams is truly a once in a decade prospect like he’s been touted and doesn’t get ruined by A going in too soon and B Da Bears.  Unless they keep Fields which ..no thanks.
