461  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Ark - New L2 protocol on: June 13, 2023, 10:17:55 PM
Yeah, I wish some of the OG (devs) would scoop these guys one or two BTC so they create a TED-talk quality presentation.
I also watched about 30 minutes or so. It could be structured a little better but what really made it hard for me to pay full attention was the varying audio quality. Guess I am just spoiled with high quality productions.
Will give this another go soon.
462  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO]-Crypto Stamps- Collectable Blockchain postage stamps on: June 13, 2023, 10:09:03 PM
As much as I liked the first crypto stamp... with the 2.0 things went downhill. Quality wasn't en par (paper only) and their obvious cash-grab tactics made them become less and less attractive to me and many (crypto) stamp collectors I know.
It's kind of sad to see, the initial idea was cool and with some real innovation and good designers this could have turned into an amazing yearly series.
When I look at this CS 5.0 all I see is an ugly design with probably way too high of a mintage.
463  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Reference] ☪ MoonBits ☪ on: June 13, 2023, 10:03:30 PM
I am happy to report I updated OP and all photos should be visible again.
Luckily all pics are still on the imgur server, so I could easily retrive them. Only Bitcointalk embeddings seems to be disabled.

Switched to talkimg, great service so far. For anyone interested: https://www.talkimg.com/
464  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Graded Crypto Magazines on: June 13, 2023, 09:36:48 PM
Some really cool magazines (and covers) here.
I was wondering how "bad" a 6.5 rating for a mag is.
Found this article: https://collectingoldmagazines.com/magazine-resources/grading/
Seems like 6.5 is still quite good condition.

Lot 1: 0.0014
Lot 5: 0.0014
Lot 6: 0.0016
465  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Coming Soon *NEW* "Crypto Currency" Copper Pennies! Intended to be loaded w/ BTC on: June 13, 2023, 06:38:12 PM
Interested. random number is good Cheesy
I second that. Looking forward, but also would like to see at least some drafts of the design or even better the minted coin itself.
You talked about error coins and near perfect ones in OP - do you have any pics to show?

44 - Kryptowerk

I got a feeling I am winning this thing, so please ship directly to MJ.  Cheesy Tongue

Since I haven't seen any other pictures other than the one from your OP of these 3D printed coins: Is there also a residue of the hologram on the back of the coin?
Were these ever funded; any thread you can direct me to?
Thanks!
468  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: A Non-Custodial wallet, Atomic Wallet, being compromised on: June 12, 2023, 05:31:36 PM
It couldn't have been a malicious update since many of the victims of the Atomic Wallet hack claim they were using an old version of a wallet when unauthorized asset draining occurred. It also doesn't look like hackers accessing dozen of computers with wallets installed, extracting secret information, and moving coins to the addresses they control: if it were the case, more users would have been affected. The most plausible explanation of what happened would be that Atomic Wallet is a semi-custodial wallet pretending to be fully non-custodial; it generates and keeps user information server-side for unknown purposes, probably for ensuring the proper functioning of some parts of the software like swaps or in-built exchanges. Users affected by this hack should have something in common: most likely they all were using the same in-built service that somehow leaked private keys when communicating with the server.

I am curious if there could be an alternative explanation for this hack. From what I gather, it seems that users were compromised even when they didn't have Atomic wallet actively running on their computers. Some individuals have reported not using the wallet for several months prior to the incident. In my opinion, this rules out the possibility of malicious code like trojan or spyware residing on their computers. Unless, of course, the attacker had been gathering private keys for an extended period of time leading up to the attack.

Is there any update on this sheding light on what actually happened to the stolen user funds and, more importantly, how the hack was conducted and which type of user were affected?
Is the team responisble for Atomic Wallet publicly know?
Highly unlikely any funds will be retrieved but holding folks accountable would be a first step.
469  Local / Presse / Re: Buch: Ijoma Mangold - Die Orange Pille on: June 12, 2023, 05:25:54 PM
Freundlicher bump.

That said... Gerade gesehen, es gibt auch eine audible Ausgabe, vielleicht hör ich dort demnächst rein.
470  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Ark - New L2 protocol on: June 12, 2023, 05:19:59 PM
There is this new video of Burak and a couple of friends in a journey explaining Ark protocol. I'm watching it right now! Seems to worth the 2h video.
Take a look at it!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EocWax43QgQ

Oh that's awesome. Giving it a try tonight.
Is it content that can be understood by not mega-tech-savy folks? Well, guess I'll find out by myself...

Are any of the ARK-folks actually active on the forum here?
In any case, exciting times. Just hope timeframes for implementation and adoption aren't as huge as they were/are for Lightning.
471  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] CI Doge 10k redeemed, 1x MB BTC chip 2018, 2x MB BTC chip 2019 on: June 12, 2023, 04:55:59 PM
Love the blue chip but 25x premium? Did you mean .0025?
Good question. Not sure how many of these exist, but these are the rarest Moonbits with the new hologram. It's also the only plastic chip with the Moonbits hologram. It was a pre-production to the metal chips, serials 2000 - 2200, but I believe less were produced actually.
So you are looking at one of the more historic Moonbits pieces here. Price reflects recent auction prices.

It's actually grey btw, lighting in the picture may have it appear slightly blue-ish.
472  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitbills set and 10 BTC silver Casascius coin on GreatCollections on: June 12, 2023, 04:52:13 PM
Amazing pieces, for me the 10 BTC cas is (and will stay, haha) a dream coin. Great looking coin in PS-69 - just wow.

Good luck with the sale, I think all pieces here would make a great foundation for a Bitcoin collectible museum.
473  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Unique handmade art "Running Bitcoin" 1/1 (6 days left) on: June 12, 2023, 04:45:11 PM
Just watched your timelapse of the "construction" - pretty cool. Just wondering, did you just eye which shading/woodpiece to use next? - I was expecting you would have a print where you put each fitting piece on top of it, but there is nothing like this visible in the video.
I think the result looks great.
No space at all left here on my walls and I don't want a piece that will just be stored away, but good luck with your auction!
474  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] CI Doge 10k redeemed, 1x MB BTC chip 2018, 2x MB BTC chip 2019 on: June 10, 2023, 12:50:14 PM
Bump.

475  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How do I secure my wallet on: June 10, 2023, 12:49:09 PM
First, all you need is a secured, self-custodial wallet. Avoid storing your crypto on a centralized exchange. It all depends on the amount of crypto you want to transact; if it's worth a little more, then purchasing a hardware wallet will be a better idea.

Check out the list of open-source hardware wallets.
Trezor should be avoided, though, since they are now gradually going centralized instead of fully decentralized and self-custodial. For security reasons, avoid them.
<-- Definitely check out the thread mentioned here.

Regarding Trezor: Still much more recommended than a Ledger wallet though.

May be a bit much for a newcomer, but you can always cross-check any wallet that may appeal to you here: https://walletscrutiny.com/
They give a good summary on overall wallet security.

Yo KW! We gotta get these pics back up my friend… one of my favorite threads 💦

Kryptowerk need to start and run the [Script] Imgur to TalkImg - automatically fix your broken images to make the images visible for us again Wink
Thanks. Will do so this weekend.

Yo KW! We gotta get these pics back up my friend… one of my favorite threads 💦

oddly enough when I click them, they open to a valid image.
Thanks Yoda, haha.
Quite strange behaviour of imgur. I did insert a link with every image for a full resolution view, but no idea why direct works (again) and included in thread doesn't. Probably they don't want to pay for that massive bandwidth anymore.

Like I said, will transfer pics and update OP soon, thanks guys.

Oh my god. Couldn't pay me enough to get a coin produced by this guy.
The kind of narcissism it takes to sign something in the name of Satoshi and being serious about it.
Good luck with the auction, make sure to lock this thing away and never find it again. :p

480  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: from closed source to open source wallet[what is the risk] on: June 06, 2023, 11:45:55 AM
With importing your seed phrase from the close source wallet to a trusted open source wallet, you don't really increase the security of your fund.
Create a new wallet, make a transaction and send all the fund to the new wallet.

Much more easier and simple to do than complex but less secured.

Instead of importing the private key, just sweep it. Some wallets already give that option. For example electrum wallet (open source) or Coinomi (closed source, not recommended).
What it does, is import your private key and immediatelly sends the funds to a new address within the wallet. So, even if the old key was compromised, after sweeping your funds are in your hands only again.

Ofc you can do so manually, too.
