4601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ether price? on: May 12, 2016, 07:24:51 AM
do you think that dao will increase the price of etheruem? maybe it's a good time to buy some before it will be released? after mining end the price should increase in theory, what do you think?
The DAO projects use Ethereum to run. Not only that but by the DAO locking in x% of total ETH limits the market supply of Ethereum for others to buy. If demand increases because of the first sentence then you can see what will happen to the price.
4602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Soon Back To Sub 1 Dollar on: May 11, 2016, 10:12:54 PM
Ethereum could go any direction atm...

The potential to go higher is more than to go lower. There is demand for the Etheruem in many practical usage.
Yup here's just 1 http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/deloitte-build-ethereum-based-digital-bank-new-york-citys-consensys-1557864

That is excellent news. It proves that the Ethereum can be very useful for the financial industry and beyond.
I actually heard them discuss Ether doing this on the national NPR, pretty big deal to hear an ALTCOIN being discussed alongside bitcoin on NPR.
What's NPR?
4603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So what's the deal with smart contracts? on: May 11, 2016, 10:10:42 PM
Strength and independence!!!! Your "programs" (contracts) are very unlikely to stop running for any reason other than programmatically intended. Independent in the sense that it is very difficult for ANY group or individual to tamper with the running program. This is like... rise of the machines.

Yes, that is the part everyone knows, but in what real way will this power be utilized?
No one knows the full power of Dapp's and Dao's as yet. Just like when the Internet first arrived. No one could predict how it would evolve. It took developers to build on the HTML protocol. Just as today developers need to build on the Ethereum blockchain.
4604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So what's the deal with smart contracts? on: May 11, 2016, 10:06:16 PM
Everyone talks about what can be done with Ethereum et al and the power of decentralized application technology. What I insist not understanding is what makes those applications superior to their centralized counterparts.

I don't claim that Dapps are not important. I just want to learn what's deal with them.
Cutting out the middleman. Each contract autonomous. Saving money.
4605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: May 11, 2016, 03:52:40 PM
so do you use DAO for pure speculation or will you act as a shareholder participating in voting etc?

why should the price rise at the end of the creation phase? those who know about it buy now and the rest will probably not care?!
I'm in it to act as shareholder/voter. It's a long term investment.

What like Vitalik was with ETH ?
Are you Vitalik ? I honestly would not be surprised if you were.
And it would make sense.. you need something else to spend those dumped ETH tokens on.
(Note: See the topic where he ADMITS to dumping shitloads of them)

I am not worried that he sold 25% of his Ethereum holding. If that is 75%, I will be worried and dump as well.

You should be and besides what the fuck do you know about this NOOB ?

Why in the bloody hell do you NOOB's think you can show up here and spout off ?

YES experience in the altcoin scene amounts to a hell of a lot and i have far more than 90% of ETH shills.
In what other scene / community would you show up and run your god damn mouth like that ?
And when i say you i mean the flood of new OBVIOUSLY older users here using dummy accounts.

I know what a real noob is like and i have seen very few of them with ETH.
What i have been seeing is deceitful little cowards using disposable dummy accounts to Shill ETH.
Which explains why you NOOBS have so much to say about it.

The picture overall is obvious and a fraud.
Far too many of you all are obviously playing games.
Anyone with half a brain can see it a mile away.

Hell i bet even real noobs coming here can see it..

You Shill's just blow me away with your idiocy.
No matter how bad it looks and no matter how stupid a stunt is pulled.
You rail on whining it's "all good man" ..buy moar cheap coins !!! nom nom nom
Whatever concerns or worries him is none of your damn business. Your fudding is laughably pathetic.
4606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We missed the ETH train. on: May 11, 2016, 03:50:34 PM
ETH train started again

The price is rising again. We do not know when it will stop. Maybe it is good time to buy some just in case we miss the train again.
The price is good now to buy more to double your holdings comparing to what price it will be in x months time. This is the last call before departure.
4607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ethereum a bubble? on: May 11, 2016, 03:47:40 PM
I thought ETH would of burst by now starting to scare me

well it bursted but it did not returned to 360k satoshi if that what you mean, but it still was dumped hard from its peak

It will go to 0.036 bitcoin in the next few months if there are more DAO ICO. That will reduce the supply of Eth.
Correct with the success of the DAO and now reduced supply of ETH we can expect some meaty price gains in ETH.
4608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Daohub to become one of the largest crowdfunds ever. on: May 11, 2016, 03:45:16 PM
Most of the hype comes from 'new' money from the eth bubble.

The Ethereum price is quite stable at the moment. There is no big increase. Does it mean the DAO prevents its drop?
Quite possibly; it could drop significantly when the DAO funding stage ends.

etheruem only have about 8,000btc of all the $800million market cap.
if dao decided to dump their eth and get real cash to fund their coding, marketing and hiring then this scam vaporware etheureum could drop from $800million market cap to $8million in an instant.
The DAO can't decide anything of the like without putting the vote to holders. Most of which are long in ETH so wouldn't vote for such an action. Seriously you naysayers need to get a grip on your disgusting lies and FUD.
4609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ether price? on: May 11, 2016, 03:42:08 PM
Hmmm, what is DOA Token? Smiley can you explain it for me?
Go to daohub.org. You have less than 3 days till the first price rise.

4611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We missed the ETH train. on: May 11, 2016, 07:52:46 AM
The rise will continue.  Look for ETH liquidity to dry up as the DAO/slock.it ICO contract sucks up a bunch of ETH.

If you're a train rider, this is your chance.  Close to two weeks from now the 1eth/100DAO tokens breaks and starts to increase.  May 27th will be a frenzy as it's the end of the ICO.  0.04?  0.05?
Markets say BTC being coverted into ETH to buy DAO.

DAO needs ETH to function. No surprises what this will do long term to ETH price.

Does it mean the Ethereum will circulate in the DAO system and will not be released to the market later?

Thoese Ethereum will be used in the Ethereum network by the DAO. It will not be sold to the market again.

Good point, as a result it will boost the value of Ethereum in return.
Yes because a good healthy chunk is locked away from the market so supply will be restricted and with each successful DAO then demand will rises. It's win win for ETH holders.

4613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exceptionally Large Ethereum Blockchain Size on: May 10, 2016, 11:10:17 PM
Wow, that's already messed up in itself. But it's even crazier when you consider Ethereum's launch wasn't even 10 months ago. Dash was released over 2 years ago and its blockchain is only 1.8 GB as of this writing. Just sayin'.

Guess distributing a glorified calculator all over the world is taking its toll. Nonetheless ETH is gonna have a future on one datacenter or the other...
thats because no one uses Daesh.
4614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Daohub to become one of the largest crowdfunds ever. on: May 10, 2016, 08:52:35 PM
so it's 10ct per share atm.

Looking at DigixDAO (which does not seem to me very special) and its 13$, TheDAO could be a good investment ^^
isnt the price tied to ETH? So if you want out you can swap directly back into ETH.

yes, 1 ETH = 100 shares = rougly 10 dollars => 10ct per share
I mean when you want to convert back out of DAO is it not again a straight swap 100 dao = 1 eth.

Xnova can you explain in rough terms what this means for Bitcoin and Ethereum? In what manner are they linked or not?

Thank you.

4618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth bubble has popped - Will you be left a bagholder? on: May 10, 2016, 02:09:07 PM
i think eth still got some life in it. but in the long run its going down but it will take some time.
While microsoft still funding their development, it's very unlikely that ETH will die.

The devs are still active , so dying is still hard for ETH.

The devs are active, the DAO is being brought to life, the financial corporations are building on the Ethereum, and the community is strong. Fertile grounds for investment.

I don't see how eth has popped up. The price is still holding strong.

yes but it just need another little dump from vitality to derstroy the last hope in this coin, what if he dump again 25%? would be a disaster and he don't care i think

And we can't forget that the DAO is pumping the price to not collapse, but if it fail will be even worst.

The Slock DAO is the first DAO. There will be more and DAO which use Etheruem as the Etheruem is useful to the community.
The first of many. It's clear that as each day passes and more and more devs jump on the Ethereum blockchain ETH will have more and more utility than BTC. The DAO is just one example.
