4601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The thing that will destroy Bitcoin. on: February 13, 2016, 10:10:16 AM
I see so much impatience about Bitcoin development and those who are most worried are the ones who want to be rich soon to get their BTC profit in fiat and leave this world. Most of us should consider themselves sort of privileged to be part of the greatest thing after the Internet.
So the thing that will destroy BTC is basically us.
4602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spanish League Prediction Thread (La Liga) on: February 13, 2016, 10:06:34 AM
Real is playing amazingly at home since Zidane became the new coach. I will believe in them winning once more.

Real Madrid-Athletic Bilbao RM + over 2,5
Villarreal-Malaga under 3,5 goals
Valencia-Espanyol Home or draw

4607  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 0.12 release on: February 13, 2016, 09:48:22 AM
This could be the greatest plus thing we need and then I would be more than happy in contributing again.
When you talk about future, how far is this future? thanks  Wink
I think it would be done now, if not for all the drama in the last year.

In 0.12 you can run a pruned node and you'll at least relay blocks on the tip.

I hope to see more sophistication maybe towards then end of the year; I'm hesitant to give any concrete numbers in the current climate.

In any case something like theymos said sound awesome to me, maybe because I first heard the word Bitcoin linked to Bittorrent (I don't even remember how and when).
Don't worry about giving some dates, no rush. Let the talking continue. Thanks
4608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is archaic on: February 11, 2016, 09:01:34 PM
You consider it done and I don't.  There is still much that can be said here.
We don't need big players to disrupt the market: let them create their own virtuacoin and we will see which one as the future on its said.
BTC is not just virtual gold.
4609  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 0.12 release on: February 11, 2016, 08:58:08 PM
If everyone ran in pruned mode then would that be a problem?  How would a new node catch up from the beginning?  I'm sure it's just that I am missing the obvious point.  Sorry to be such a dummy.

Maybe the idea is at least a few nodes will always keep the full history?  I am willing to if that helps.

In the future Core will let you choose to "donate x GB to the network", and then you'll store a random range of historical blocks. Then nodes doing an initial sync will have to search out nodes that have the blocks they want from among these nodes storing chunks of the historical chain. It's a bit like how BitTorrent works.

This could be the greatest plus thing we need and then I would be more than happy in contributing again.
When you talk about future, how far is this future? thanks  Wink
4610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you have to accept one, what will it be? on: February 11, 2016, 08:49:19 PM
i am not gonna be a presoner again. i am here because i just liked the concept of it.and if anyhow its gonna became restructed then i will like to switch to other crypto coins or gonna make my own coin or something where nobody can control my coins except me

And then you'll end up using your coins only with yourself! You need at least someone else to share your wealth with otherwise your coins are useless.
4611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is archaic on: February 11, 2016, 08:47:33 PM
These kind of threads bring further confusion into the BTC ecosystem and nonetheless they are what scare newbies who try to inform themselves for the first time.
I see BTC in the early stages still: there's room for improvement and there will be.
4612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spanish League Prediction Thread (La Liga) on: February 11, 2016, 08:44:36 PM
After reading so many predictions , i take some risk and bet over 0.5 goals in first half in celta vigo vs sevilla game odd is 2.4 , if they both to score than i think their should be one goal in first half.

Glad that you won 0.5 goals in first half, it finished 1-0 for Celta. I am watching the match and is beautiful, plus I think second half will be with more emotions to follow.

Aspas scored the second goal for Celta Vigo and Sevilla suddenly score its first goal with Banega. From 1-0 to 2-1 in less than two minutes!
There might be some more goals hopefully: I have over 3,5 goals
4613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 11, 2016, 08:42:38 PM
Following the game live: Lazio is winning by one goal and its ball possession is around 66%
They scored on goal three times and I think we will see many goals in the second half.
4614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spanish League Prediction Thread (La Liga) on: February 10, 2016, 06:25:49 PM
With a 7 - 0 huge victory in the first leg, I don't expect Barcelona to be aggressive today. My bet is on Valencia vs Barcelona under 2.5 @ 1.994.

Barcelona could ask us to play today. If Valencia could chose they would not play this game: I don't think this is a game that can be played. No bet can be good.
4615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 10, 2016, 06:24:00 PM
After scoring three goals against Inter maybe Verona could do another trick to Lazio and actually I think they could if not win at least go for a draw.
4616  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: WTH BTC Jumped 20.06%. Is this a fricking Trend? on: February 08, 2016, 09:11:54 PM

I am in Venezuela where power is almost free and these diff jumps sure have me very worried, we have a small mine with about 200 TH my forecast even with free power are not good....

what tools do you guys use to calculate ROI? i'm currently using https://coinplorer.com/Hardware/Simulate/ which seems very good, but doesn't seem to take into account halving....

i sure hope this is NOT a trend

man your return on investment depends on the btc price. you can't rely on those simulation simply because the price variable is the most important
one day you have 100, the next day you have 70
4617  Economy / Economics / Re: The rapid pace of China's currency reserve depletion is 'simply unsustainable' on: February 08, 2016, 09:06:39 PM
The reserves are being depleted by rich corrupt Chinese moving their funds offshore to escape from the coming Yuan/USD exchange rate collapse. And also to seek a safe haven from the witch hunt underway against corruption in China.

I was in China for two months last year and that is exactly what I understood from Chinese people.
Personally I see the Chinese economic bubble as a ticking time bomb. We saw something last month and maybe we could see the rest soon.
4618  Economy / Speculation / Re: Competition of BTC on: February 08, 2016, 08:45:55 PM
very interesting thread, first of all.

I still like Peercoin and I still think PoS coins can be good if well developed.
I used to like NXT but now it seems not so healthy: NXT markets were a plus.

I agree with who says that ETH is too sophisticated: maybe we still don't realize its true potential. Anyway, I think BTC rules the game and will continue to do so.
4619  Economy / Economics / Re: The Halving - Good or Bad for Bitcoin? on: February 08, 2016, 08:39:01 PM
I have been investing in bitcoin for more than 2 years now. I am worried about the halving effecting bitcoin price badly. I hope it all will be well. Although i have a question for more experienced bitcoin users. Is there a possibilty that this halving may cause crises in bitcoin market?

Last Bitcoin halving can't be used as a reference simply because the market, at that time, was completely different. We can't do a clear prediction and therefore we can't foresee what is going to be then. One thing is certain: BTC halving will not be easy for who does not have strong nerves.
 Cool
4620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When gambling makes you cry. on: February 08, 2016, 08:36:18 PM
I think I'm crying too much lately: after two very good bets I lost almost all I earned and that's very annoying. Also because I lost many bets because of single game only.
