4601  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Wirex- Bitcoin Debit Card | Buy Bitcoin | Mobile Banking | Send Money on: September 28, 2017, 06:40:00 AM
I'm going to try use my card for the first time today. Do I need to transfer the money from my Wirex bitcoin account to my plastic card or will it automatically come out of that when I try withdraw from the ATM? Thanks.
4602  Other / Meta / Re: Why are forum account allowed sold here? on: September 27, 2017, 04:56:06 PM
moderators are corrupt

What proof You can give for such accusation?

There is no proof. Some idiots just like to invent conspiracy theories because the logical reason is just too boring and obvious.

Do you want to know the real reason why it takes so long for accounts to get restored? Because there's only two admins who can deal with the issue and only one of them is active in restoring accounts and he's swamped with dozens of requests a day not to mention all the other shit that needs looking into and cleaning up.
4603  Other / Meta / Re: This section is a mess. on: September 27, 2017, 04:42:06 PM
The 'rank up' threads should just be trashed on sight especially since most are just too lazy to read because they're so eager to spam their way through the ranks to start shitposting on a campaign, but moving them to somewhere else isn't going to do anything but just create more work for Staff (most of them are already posted in the wrong sections and are moved to Meta). I wish when you deleted a post or thread it would give a link to the rules/FAQ in the PM notification with a suggestion that they read them to see why their post was deleted. An even better solution to stop these sorts of threads is to remove signatures from activity/rank altogether because then nobody will give a shit about it.
4604  Other / Meta / Re: end of all signature campaigns on: September 27, 2017, 04:34:16 PM
what will happen if all signature campaigns end

What will happen? Shitposters like you will disappear and the forum will stop looking like this:

Things are interrelated to each other
Why owners of website stop campaign when they are generating good money from it.
And why people leave forum when they are getting paid to use it.

The forum loses money by allowing signature campaigns here. Most businesses/projects don't bother buying ads when they can have their signatures plastered all over the forum for free as opposed to buying one tiny, barely noticeable ad slot.

Quite a gap in them from March 2015 to when you posted your last one which is pretty suspicious.

Welcom Unyil, 6 round later but thats doesnt metter, i also late for first 3 round, and got from this round 150 points, hope so that i will continue in that direction. Good luck and welcome once again

Seems he got the correct score on his first pick. I also got last nights game correct (the only one of last week). Current table:

Only 60 points for me this weekend (before Arsenal vs WBA). I'm disappointed with my performance Cheesy
I've moved down to 3rd in the table.

Same, but looks like we both got the Arsenal game right. Still pretty close at the top.
4608  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: September 26, 2017, 06:35:53 AM
Is it true that the devs are working on a new Bitcointalk forum? How will the rankings work there? Will our current ranks be transferred to the new forum as well?

Yes, everything will be transferred over, but I'm hoping there's a revamping of the ranking system in that signatures are removed from activity/rank on the new forum to stop the level of account farming and account hackings that are going on.

So, if I'm posting on the forum since e.g. december 2016 - but before i readed more that wrote, i have more "14 days periods" let's say "in storage" - i'm understanding correctly?

What you're saying makes little sense, but when you signed up is irrelevant and you won't get any potential activity if you don't make any posts at all in any given activity period.
4609  Other / Meta / Re: Why are forum account allowed sold here? on: September 26, 2017, 06:20:51 AM
Doesn't that just promote scamming, deception and spam on the site?

In short, yes. The reasoning behind account sales being allowed is that it cannot really be stopped and people will just sell them elsewhere but I'm starting to think we should prohibit their sale here and trash their threads because the majority of people selling them are selling hacked accounts and the rest are likely farming them by shitposting. An even better solution to stop account sales and farming almost 99% would be to remove signatures from ranks/activity. Everyone who joins the forum can only have a basic signature and if you want a bigger Senior or Hero sized one you have to donate to the forum to get one. This will instantly stop account farming and people having dozens to hundreds of accounts and is pretty much the only way I can see to stop the abuse going on here.
4610  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin Discussion - Low Quality Topics on: September 26, 2017, 06:11:56 AM
Nothing will change until changes are made to how signature campaigns are allowed to operate here but theymos doesn't seem interested in that so it's just going to get worse with every day. The majority of the content and posts on the forum is embarrassing and as long as there are crapcoin campaigns that pop up by the dozens every month who will pay for any content regardless of quality this will only get exploited. The majority of people who sign up here these days only do so because they've heard you can earn money here so you just get dozens of illiterate kids from developing nations signing up who can barely speak or comprehend English hence why you have such crappy threads asking the most basic of stuff. Just look at all the threads asking how activity works that pop up daily and they only want to know so they can earn more.

The level of account farming that is going on to exploit crapcoin campaigns is also ridiculous. There are certain individuals who have or are farming literally hundreds of accounts by shitposting or copying and pasting others responses (some with bots and some manually) and nothing is ever done about it. My solution is to ban the campaigns and accounts of anyone who is clearly doing nothing to control spam and also remove signatures from ranks/activity. Everyone who joins the forum can only have a basic signature and if you want a bigger Senior or Hero sized one you have to donate to the forum to get one. This will instantly stop account farming and people having dozens to hundreds of accounts and is pretty much the only way to stop the abuse here. I used to say it's not going to be long before the only people posting here are third world kids trying to earn money but that's pretty much what this forum is now. There are solutions to it but it theymos doesn't care about it nothing can be done and it'll only get worse day after day.
4611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk English Premier League pool betting Discussion Thread on: September 25, 2017, 02:26:09 PM
Probably publicly posting different scores here to the ones he actually submits to the BBC site, but I doubt he's doing that. People could just copy the scores of the best players to try get an advantage. It happens in some fantasy leagues because if you always copy the best players you can catch up points pretty easily or maintain your lead without them catching you.

We also have another player joined.
4612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk English Premier League pool betting Discussion Thread on: September 23, 2017, 04:29:45 PM
So guys how are you today, most of games are finished, it was some nice results, i just wanna to thanks Everton for this awesome comeback, and i hit that 2:1 correct score for them Smiley

I had Man City at 4-0 and Swansea at 1-1 and they both had a late goal to screw me over. Had another couple of other close ones but can't remember what they were off the top of my head and the predictions haven't updated yet. Not sure I ended up with any correct scores after the late goals Sad.
4613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk English Premier League pool betting Discussion Thread on: September 23, 2017, 06:15:09 AM
Is the BBC site working ok for everyone now? I never had a problem accessing it but only one person has posted their predictions in the Games and Rounds thread so I'm hoping it's ok for everyone.
4614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forum moderation policy on: September 23, 2017, 06:12:19 AM
Is there any feasible way to un-ban a profile?

Depends what it was banned for. Is it locked as a security measure or banned for some other reason? It usually states so unless it's a permaban, but I'd suggest making a thread in Meta about it.
4615  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: September 22, 2017, 07:25:49 AM
Will the donator BTC requirements be updated? It's unreasonable to donate 10 or 50 BTC at current prices.

No. This has been discussed and answered numerous times. It wouldn't be fair to the original donators to lower the amount but new ranks pegged to fiat values have been suggested.
4616  Other / Meta / Re: We have to think about it, Newbies are Spamming alot... on: September 22, 2017, 07:19:02 AM
The problem is signature campaigns and the third world shitposters that come here in droves just to earn and until changes are made to how signature campaigns operate here nothing is going to change. Newbies aren't going to bother reading stickies and many of them just don't understand how activity works nor can they even comprehend English very well half of the time. I have one sure-fire solution to stop all these threads though: remove signatures from activity/ranks and people will no longer care about activity at all. If you want a signature you will have to donate to the forum to get one. This will also stop people literally farming dozens and in some cases hundreds of accounts to abuse campaigns which is currently far too easy to do. Anyone can create a hundred accounts either manually or by bots and in a month or two they'll be ready to abuse a crapcoin campaign which they can easily do when dozens of them pop up every month and most have no quality control at all.
4617  Other / Meta / Re: Original account hacked, being used for Signature campaigns. on: September 22, 2017, 07:06:55 AM
It seems this problem isn't going to go away any time soon and is only going to get worse as higher ranked accounts become more in demand. Removing signatures from ranks will stop this behaviour instantly and is the only way to stop farming and account sales. Scammers must be making a fortune hacking accounts just to instantly sell them to sig spammers. There's always going to be a market for accounts as long as signature campaigns are here so instead of giving their money to scammers it should go to the forum. It win win and the only people that lose out here are shitposting account farmers and hackers.
4618  Other / Meta / Re: Threats being locked down by moderators on: September 22, 2017, 06:54:58 AM
Mprep himself posted  in that very thread explaining why so if you want to avoid having your "threats" locked learn to follow the rules and don't do giveaways.

Also, threads in Meta cannot be self-moderated which is where this one belongs.
4619  Other / Meta / Re: [Real Answers ] Sell bitcointalk accounts ? on: September 19, 2017, 07:10:53 AM
It's not against the forum rules to scam technically (or staff don't usually intervene) but the community will certainly tag you if they think you're up to shady behaviour and a lot of people here think selling accounts is shady hence the feedback.
4620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is "Variety Jones"? on: September 17, 2017, 07:15:15 PM
It seems like Bitcointalk has been mentioned as well (24:10) and here is the post they were talking about: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=47811.msg568744#msg568744 Where else could I find the documentary btw? I can't really watch something that long in 360p.
