4601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scam Victim in need of help! on: July 07, 2020, 01:41:45 PM
Got a call from someone claiming they're from the government telling me there's fraud, drug trafficking, and money laundering investigations under my name using my SIN. Told me there's a warrant for my arrest.

They claimed you were issued a Warrant of Arrest without notifying you of what happened beforehand, you should be thought of that as suspicious. If there's an investigation, they should meet you personally to talk about these things and not just thru the exchange of email or calls. And besides, they can't issue that right away. There's a due process for that. In here, something very fishy.

There is no person who can help you here. Talk to the authorities and state your problem with the scam attempt. That's the obvious thing to think first for let's says you receive a Warrant of Arrest since you want to clean your name. They can give you advice on what to do so that they can cooperate with the Bitcoin ATM operator too.

Should be served as a lesson now.
4602  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Exclusive Investment Group on: July 06, 2020, 09:25:20 PM

May we know the name of your "exclusive investment group"?

Somehow, that can act as a reference if someone shows interest to work with you based on the group's past performance.

Since this involves partnership or sort of finding individuals, I suggest moving the thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=12.0
4603  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Three basic Market Analysis to Becoming a Successful trader for Newbies on: July 06, 2020, 07:09:23 PM

Those pointers can't just learn overnight. We are talking about "newbie trader" here.

Let them deal with the challenge of doing trades with only basic knowledge as a foundation. Mistakes will make them a better trader in the future if they are serious about pushing their trading career.

They won't understand those 3 pointers even how serious they are as they lack experience. When they learn those pointers above, they are not a newbie trader anymore.
4604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luckyfish accepting kids on: July 06, 2020, 06:48:33 PM
It is to you to set parental control in your kid's computer !

So just setting some DNS can do the job

However, I can advise you to better secure your network at home. There are tools and services such as https://www.opendns.com/home-internet-security/ with which you can easily secure your own WLAN so that your son will not be able to access such sites in the future:

I just have to suggest it on my response above but honestly, it won't help much in the long-run.

Even restricting sites won't help, neither on desktop or network, as surely that kid is not just the one who uses it. I mean yes, there are other technical ways to avoid that site but no need to honestly go technical with that problem. Just imagine, that 14-year old is able to understand that he is dealing in a crypto-gambling site so surely there will be a time that he will also learn ways to bypass those site restrictions (if parents set it up) as it's just one google search away to find the answer.

A serious discussion between parents and son is enough. Restricting those sites will just make the kid more curious. He is already 14 years old. Just a few years more and he will enter his age of consent.
4605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luckyfish accepting kids on: July 06, 2020, 04:34:03 PM
I have just discovered my son ,14 years old  gambling in this site.

How dare you letting Kids register into your site.

Talk to your son. The internet is so vast and your son can discover other things much worst than that.

Reporting the site to the authorities won't also help. We are talking about a "crypto-related gambling site" here.

That's why you need to do everything to educate your child. That's part of the parent's role in the first place.
4606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: July 06, 2020, 04:15:24 PM
..because Heat is already guaranteed with a playoff spot and their standing now is currently at number 4, and even if they will drop at number 5, it still doesn't matter as in this playoffs, there will be no home court advantage.

And aside from no homecourt advantage, even they dropped at Number 5, they will still face the Number 4 in the playoffs.

The best thing to do is to just maintain the current spot even some of their key players might not play. However, Sixers are on the run too as "I think" they want to avoid facing the Boston Celtics in the first round. A good plan though as for me, they can handle either Heat or Pacers in the first round.

If he can be traded by only one between these three I think Lakers will be over the cap considering it's Damian Lillard we are speaking. I think it will be two/three-man trade for him, my hunch if he considers it.

You are right, surely it is a multi-player deal or might be a multi-team deal involving 2 or more teams.

Based on how the article is made, more of self-analysis by a writer with no chance of happening "for now" (well that's why it rumor lol). The Twitter post is for April Fools post and Lillard quoted that, maybe to relax the Blazers fans that he won't go elsewhere.
4607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: July 06, 2020, 03:39:06 PM
I don't know how this will affect the adoption here in the Philippines but it something will give a negative impact as people will also think negatively when they hear and read for this.

The warning is good especially for those people who want a quick-rich scheme and overnight profit in crypto like happened in the past. It's good to release such warnings to educate those people about crypto.

If people will think of that as negative then so be it. Clearly, they don't read carefully what's written in the context.

is this also applied to those who trade crypto there?
if yes, this is very bad. then crypto will be completely illegal there.

Of course, NO.

Only applies to those projects or companies engaged in unauthorized use of crypto, taking advantage of any means to get money from the people.
4608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 06, 2020, 12:30:26 PM

Aguilar, Wong fined 20K for 5-on-5 scrimmage, will undergo swab testing

I understand the excitement of playing basketball again but these guys should follow the protocol that large gatherings are not allowed at the moment, not just in sports but for other regular activities as well. Just because IATF allows the resume of practice, players, even how popular they are, will just conduct a scrimmage.

For sure, there are other people here and not just players (obviously). The fine is small. Should serve a lesson if they will increase the fine.

1,000+, 2,000+ everyday confirmed cases. The majority came from Metro Manila. These players should take the pandemic seriously.
4609  Economy / Economics / Re: Very strange most people like to buy with bitcoin , but using altcoins very few on: July 06, 2020, 12:09:29 PM

This observation is actually not strange. On my end, that's normal because most people are familiar with bitcoin and if you are a crypo user, which one do you trust most? Of course, the one that has strong position in the market. Others are afraid to touch alts because most of them have very short lifespan, wherein, they can disappear anytime. But with bitcoin, do you think it will disappear? I don't think so. So a lot of people are just being on the safe side of things.

Not just being not familiar with altcoins but most people (traders) tend to use it only for trading. The heavy volatility of some altcoins is one that daily traders want and taking it as an advantage. Much riskier but that's the challenge there.

In 2017, during the prime of ICO, many invested in some projects and buy some altcoins that didn't even have an assurance that someday it will be listed. The purpose? Expecting a huge and decent profit someday because of hype.

And then a year later, the heavy bearish market came. There is no doubt that majority of altcoins touch their unexpected bottom floor. I take it as a reason why only a few people using altcoins.
4610  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Overcome and Handle Your Mistakes in Trading? on: July 06, 2020, 11:21:47 AM
People are not afraid of losing and that is the scariest thing to me. You should be afraid of losing, you should not get into a trading with "I am going to make so much money!!" type of mindset, you should go into it with "what if I end up losing a lot of money?" mindset. That would allow you to be protected against horrible loss and you would always be careful.

I disagree on that approach. Putting that "afraid of losing" in our mindset will just make things worst. Not good recommendations or advice for those newbies who wants to enter the world of trading. It neither won't protect you against horrible losses.

Having a "winning mindset" is different from having a "quick-profit mindset". Having a winning mindset will make traders do anything to minimizes losses as much as possible. You should face the risks and do anything to make your trades always win.

You won't be able to make a good strategy if on your mind, you are afraid to deal with "what if".
4611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My friend passed away and he have Bitcoin in his wallet on: July 03, 2020, 07:36:51 PM
And no I cannot go to meet them as I'm in another country now but I have his father's phone and another friend of mine living close to them

Give them first a time to mourn. Even they don't have ideas on what will you supposedly told them, in a conditioned and relaxed mind, they will learn how to do it. There might be some close friends to them who can help and knows this bitcoin thing.

Does your friend living close to them know this bitcoin stuff? If yes, then good. Tell the family that someone is willing to help them. If no, then let your friend not be involved here.

But remember, when the time comes now that you need to tell them about bitcoin, just assist them "if they told you to do so". Don't say right away that you will help them access it.
4612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 03, 2020, 06:44:06 PM
That's a good thing for the PBA as heard before that once they have a good signal to start practicing it will be close to resumption of the PBA season.

Actually, that allowing to resume the practice doesn't increase the chance of PBA to resume. And besides, in their practice, only limited people are allowed. Maybe literally, only players + coach + 2 to 4 staffs (the numbers are just an example). Totally different environment to the actual official game wherein more people are involved.

The chance of PBA to resume will depend on the status of Covid-19 cases in the country specifically here in the capital. If the number of confirmed cases will decline in the following weeks until, to the point that we can fairly say, the numbers are controlled, large sports like basketball might be considered resuming.

With more mass testing being held nationwide, it's really expected to see more numbers of confirmed cases. The other day, I thought the increase is somehow slow down as DOH reports only 200+ additional confirmed cases. And yesterday, as stated above, it hops to 1,500+.
4613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: July 03, 2020, 04:36:23 AM
Dunno but the set up seems kind of weird to me lol. 'Cause you know you have to practice together with different teams just few steps beside you haha  Cheesy. But whatever, it is just kind of new to me.

I don't understand how it became weird Cheesy.

I mean, no choice but surely it won't affect their practice as a whole.

Teams will also practice at staggered times to comply with social distancing.

This news about Jr Smith started on a Facebook page transferring to Lakers and it's confirmed that he's going to be with the Lakers. It made me remember the famous meme about him and Lebron, who else did?  Grin

Honestly, that meme is not notable to me. I don't remember J.R Smith from that. He is one of the core players that contributes to the success of 2017 Cavaliers. That's what I always remember him that way and not on that meme.

But for ROY, it looks like we already know who will win based on the odds below.

Ja Morant for the win. Zion missed lots of games.

So unfortunate. I badly want to see their overall stats after a season in a healthy status.

But I'm with Morant here. Believed me, only few anticipated that Grizzlies will able to join the battle for the playoffs spot in a competitive Western Conference. Smiley
4614  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Default - theyoungmillionaire u=1180530 on: July 03, 2020, 02:59:58 AM
...and I believe coins.ph are cooperating if ever there is an ongoing investigation from one of there user.

Yes, I'm sure they will cooperate.

Just for reference, I ask them before if it's possible for them to help me track or at least give me the contact number of a user who defaulted a loan in our local lending thread and coins.ph support is very responsive the whole time we discussed the case. It's quite long though as they really need every information.

After the preliminary review, they now gave me the official complaint form (I have the link in my ticket). After that, for some reason, that user now response to me via Telegram (thanks to @Bttzed03 for giving me the user's contact information) after 4 days and sends an apology message. He also told me that his coins.ph got disable and he thinks it's because of what I did. The user asked for an extension to his loan. Never been heard anything from him since Feb 15. I'm sure that user is just around.
4615  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Lets talk Crypto / Constructive Discussions on: July 02, 2020, 10:13:28 PM
I created a new Channel on Telegram, please feel free to join the invite link below the text.

https://t.me/joinchat/Fm8Okxm4Ln4BrgfxV8JNJA

It's a group, not a channel.

Going straight to my point, as far as what I observed on Telegram groups, I'm afraid that the group might be turned into a ghost chat. In most cases, there should be a specific topic or subject e.g trading group, local group, name of the project, etc. and not just a group that meant to discuss general things related about crypto.

Visited the group chat and there's no pinned message about introducing the group's purpose. For a user that will land there for the first time, the group might be tagged as spam. Well then, goodluck gathering users there.

I just could not imagine how things will look like if coach Tim is coaching the Beermen instead of Ginebra. More championships i think.

Yes, possible. Might be more GrandSlam achievement to Coach Tim.

Coach Tim can make numerous strategies and even experiments as he will be sure it can be followed properly as SMB, no doubt have the best-skilled role players compare to other teams. And as a respected coach, surely all SMB rosters will be intimidated to him resulting in much better performance on the court.

But good thing, that doesn't happen. I want to see a much competitive PBA even between sister companies.
4617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think players can play properly against a recovered Covid-19 opponent? on: July 02, 2020, 09:03:25 PM

OP, you have a big point there.

Even all those players who recovered from Covid-19 undergo the best of the best checking and now cleared to play, there's still on other player's mindset that they are still against an infected one. That's truly not an act of discrimination but a normal approach as everyone is doing their best not to be got caught by the virus. We can't truly understand these player's feelings as we aren't in their situation.

I'm with the idea that players who got recovered just less than a month, shouldn't be allowed to play, at least just for safety. There are numerous cases now that the virus got reactivated to those supposed to be recovered people. The reason vaccine is a must to totally kill any trace of the virus on the body.
4618  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market Gonna be volatile again! Nothing New though on: June 30, 2020, 10:27:44 PM
BTC can touch 9.4K. Tomorrow 1 month & 3 month candle will be closed. So the market may be volatile! And So Always play with safety I mean must use stoploss in trading!Happy Trading Everybody!

Isn't it a usual approach, at any given trend, to consider necessary actions such as stop-loss as part of the strategy?

Bitcoin is always volatile, the main reason why it's unpredictable. Wild speculation and well-detailed analysis might happen or not.

BTC is currently playing around $9,100+. If you believed that it can touch $9,400+ tomorrow, good luck then.

Hi there , I’m pop.
i would like to ask about this coin Bitcoin Vault . it has a high return of profit. is it a scam or not.
i cant find any pools to mine only two pools and its not available to use only if you register to this website[fun88

Thank in advance.

For a much detailed and accurate answer, post here some links or sources of what you are pointing to.

In that way, we can have a reference if what we have found on the web is the same as what you are talking about.

The high return of profit is intriguing me as looking at the official site (assuming this is the one you are talking), I've didn't see anything or a feature that will yield you a high return.
4620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FOX prepared to add virtual fans and crowd noise to NFL broadcasts on: June 30, 2020, 09:26:05 PM
Virtual audience, virtual judges, and with virtual players we would cover everything! This is crazy in my opinion, the need for fake audiences, and purpose is what? Fake public for fake feelings, where are we going with this? I would say better to play on empty stadiums and when this virus passes people will come to stadiums again, there's no need for fake things that will give you fake feelings.

People are not that dumb. Obviously, they know it's virtual. Do you really think it will lead to "fake feelings" as you mentioned lol?

It's just that they want to add some spice in the new normal scene.

I don't see anything wrong with that. Let them just do what they want to add entertainment to household viewers.
