4601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY DOES BOUNTY PROJECTS TAKE TIME TO ENTER A MARKET on: March 15, 2020, 01:01:07 PM
It's always one delay after the other, if I have to start giving reasons why most projects have this issues I will have to keep writing for hours, there are many reasons that cause the delays, funds, weak team, bad aims etc

What you have pointed out is true. But I would say that the biggest problem is the bounty hunters themselves. There are too many bounty hunters nowadays and too few bounty campaigns available. As a result, we have some users willing to do bounties which have extremely unfair terms and conditions. This gives opportunity for the bounty campaign managers and the ICO promoters, to cheat the participants. The bounty hunter needs to change first. Avoid doing such bounties and in the end the ICO promoters will fall in line.
4602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bad projects equals Bad results on: March 15, 2020, 12:55:25 PM
During the past couple of years, I have examined hundreds, if not thousands of ICOs. You may not agree, but most of these projects had very good ideas and well defined timelines and business plans. But very few of them were successful upon their listing in the exchanges. That means that the planning phase was not at the fault. The problem always lies with the implementation phase. A project may look very attractive on paper, but the team fails to transfer it to the real world.
4603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 💰 Summer Tokyo 2020 💰 Discussion and bet thread 💰 Summer Game on: March 15, 2020, 12:49:08 PM
It took 5 years for Japan to prepare for the Olympics, huge amount of funds have been invested into the preparation, if the Olympics is postponed or cancel it will bring severe economic problem to the country.

I am sure they will never cancel it but postponed it for the time being. They do not have any other choice.

They are not going to cancel it. And I don't think that postponing the event may cause huge losses. There is still no word from the IOC regarding any potential postponement. The games are supposed to begin on 24th July 2020, and they may be hoping that the COVID 19 situation may get resolved before that. We still have 4 months and there is a good chance that the pandemic may get contained before the scheduled start date.
4604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk PSL T20 Pool and discussion. on: March 15, 2020, 12:42:41 PM
We have the last group phase match today, between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators. Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings have already qualified to the semi-finals, being the top 2 teams. But we still have no confirmation regarding the 3rd and 4th placed team (that will depend on the outcome of today's KK vs QG match). In all probability, Lahore Qalandars will finish at no.3 and will take on the Karachi Kings.

No other cricket matches going on anywhere in the world. So I would be watching today's match on DSPORT.  Angry
4605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not blame it on Corona outbreak on: March 15, 2020, 12:36:57 PM
I have been saying this for quite sometime. The cryptocurrency prices are going down due to hackers and scammers dumping their coins, and not due to the COVID 19 epidemic. Check this article, and you may get a fair idea regarding it:

https://cryptonews.com/news/plustoken-scam-still-has-btc-61-229-undistributed-report-6010.htm

According to the analysts, a lot of coins are remaining in the wallets of these scammers and the prices may further go down when they try to liquidate them. They have already cashed out a large part of the loot, but plenty more crypto assets are remaining with them.
4606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Coronavirus and it’s impact on sporting events - please add on: March 15, 2020, 12:31:43 PM
Here in India, we have well over a dozen sports channels and most of the time there will be multiple cricket matches being broadcast live on various channels. But for the last few days, the only live action I have been able to follow has been the PSL of Pakistan. All the other cricket matches have been either cancelled or postponed. The BCCI have postponed the IPL (world's largest T20 league) by almost a month and they have cancelled all of the domestic matches.
4607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does it have volume ? on: March 15, 2020, 12:25:20 PM
There is a lot of manipulation with the new tokens and even the volume stats may not give you a fair picture. If the token circulation is being limited to a few team members, then it is very easy for them to create an artificial scarcity in the market. Also, they can spike the prices temporarily, by doing insider trading. Unless the token is listed in some of the major exchanges such as Binance or Huobi, I would stay away from it.
4608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19: Avoid casino, play online on: March 15, 2020, 12:19:07 PM
Most of the top-tier gamblers are those in their 60s and 70s. And these guys are not that comfortable with online casinos and payment modes such as Bitcoin or PayPal. In case the physical casinos close down, then this group of gamblers are more likely to refrain from gambling altogether, rather than shifting their activity to online casinos, where the deposits and withdrawals are being done with BTC or PayPal.
4609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Exactly Caused The New Drop Of Crypto? on: March 15, 2020, 12:13:57 PM
From what I have heard, the PlusToken scammers started dumping their coins (mostly ETH, BTC, TRX and XRP) about two weeks ago, when they moved $120 million worth of crypto to various exchanges. This caused a 20% drop in the cryptocurrency prices in one day. And in the succeeding days, these people dumped even more of their loot, which ultimately caused a meltdown in the cryptocurrency market.

Contrary to what people have been claiming here, the COVID 19 epidemic has hardly anything to do with this current bearish phase.
4610  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc dropping more then 39% in 24/h - on: March 14, 2020, 05:33:25 AM
We are less than two months away from the next block reward halving and this sort of drop was just unimaginable. At the most, I was expecting a drop after the halving event (similar to what happened with Litecoin in 2019). But not in my wildest of the dreams I expected that BTC would lose 40% of its value just before the halving. And lets not forget the fact that there was a lot of accumulation by the whales during 2019, expecting a major bump due to the halving. All of them are stuck with their holdings now.
4611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Increasing Number, Who Own 1 bitcoin on: March 14, 2020, 05:26:09 AM
As years pass by, we will be witnessing an increasing amount of wealth distribution with Bitcoin. A few years back, we had only a few million Bitcoin users and out of them a thousand or so were owning more than 50% of all the circulating supply. But they encashed a part of their holdings during the past years and as a result we have more number of users who now hold significant cryptocurrency assets.
4612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: March 14, 2020, 04:45:31 AM
The Australia v New Zealand match still went ahead but with no fans in the stadium which was a different experience when watching it on TV. I actually found the match a little boring with out the crowd, its just not the same. It must be an experience for the players as well as there is no crowd to get behind the teams. Australia ended up winning the match easily in the end as New Zealand didn't really offer much. It looks like the series will continue even though almost all other sports have been cancelled around the world, even the SA and India ODI series has been cancelled. This could last many months unless the corona virus is under control.

In countries where not enough precautions were taken, the virus has spread at a startling rate. So I would agree with the decision by various cricket boards to cancel bilateral series and other tournaments. For now, the BCCI has postponed the IPL by two weeks. To be honest, I don't think that this is enough. They need to postpone it by at least 6 months, as there is hardly any chance that the situation will get contained in two weeks.
4613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 14, 2020, 04:38:18 AM
Yes now These matches postponed and we have very bore life mean no cricket no enjoyment most of peoples upset with IPL delayed because this was really fun to watch but this corona Angry

This is the reaction from the Indian government:

Quote
All existing visas, except diplomatic, official, UN/International Organizations, employment, project visas stand suspended till April 15, 2020

The United States has declared a national emergency and some of the Indian states are also thinking about the same. Forget about the sports events, you may not be even able to go to shopping malls and movie theaters. I am afraid about my job as well. The markets are collapsing and many of the companies are a few weeks away from bankruptcy.
4614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 14, 2020, 04:32:14 AM
NZ defiantly would be unhappy the way they had batted as the chase was not that difficult and losing by 71 runs when just have to chase 258 is a big thing. . NZ could not build a good partnership which could have taken the game from Oz . NZ will have to rethink now so that they can be back in the next match with a win and make series interesting .

The New Zealand bowlers did well to restrict Australia to 258. Trent Boult bowled very economically, and Lockie Ferguson (back in the national team after three months) picked up the wickets. But their batting failed.

Well.. I am glad that this match went forward. The boards have cancelled the T20 series between the two teams, and from what I have learnt the remaining two matches from the ODI series have been also called off. So I guess we may not be witnessing much cricketing action for the next few months.
4615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY THE BLAME ON BOUNTY HUNTERS FOR SHITCOINS? on: March 12, 2020, 04:54:11 PM
Bounty hunters also need to take some blame for the proliferance of shitcoins. Because they are the ones who promote these scam projects. Many ordinary users will invest in these shitty projects, as a result of the promotion by these bounty hunters. And in rare cases, I have seen bounty hunters promoting shitcoins even after knowing that they are outright scams.
4616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 12, 2020, 04:48:20 PM
Interestingly there is no front line spinner in England Squad.

Jack Leach was getting the important wickets for England (and getting runs at crucial situations). But he may not be able to play international cricket for sometime, due to health issues. And the other spinners have not performed up to the expectations. But it will be suicidal to tour Sri Lanka without any frontline spinners. The tracks in Sri Lanka can be either flat, or spin-friendly. In both the cases, you need spinners.
4617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is fake shit on: March 12, 2020, 04:42:13 PM
i don't think the OP was referring to any particular coin but the whole crypto space and the manipulation going on in it, clearly the message was about exchanges and how they blatantly manipulate price, judging from today's market situation, i think we are going to see more people like OP confirming their believe that crypto is highly manipulated, at the moment, it is impossible to say the reason fro this huge dump, many people attribute it to the virus, but truth is that!
as it is now, both btc and shitcoin are all affected.

Manipulation of any cryptocurrency is not possible without the help of an exchange. I still remember the case of IOUX, where there was massive manipulation. It was listed in only a handful of exchanges, and the main exchange in which it was listed disabled the IOUX deposits for an extended period of time. This created an artificial shortage of the coin and the prices in turn increased by almost 10x due to that.
4618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: March 12, 2020, 04:36:10 PM
You are absolutely correct I also did not expect the South Africans to dominate the ODI series. Disgusting performance by the Australian team. This series was exactly similar to the India vs Newzealand series. I am not sure what exactly went wrong with both the losing team as on papers they are far better than the rivals.

Australia performs better in the test format than in any other format. Their best player (Steve Smith) is more suited to test format, and the same can be said about some of their other players such as Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc as well. But let's not forget the fact that before the ODI series, the Australians won the T20 series against the same opponents in a very convincing manner.
4619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not all projects are bad on: March 12, 2020, 04:26:07 PM
Projects can easily fail if not much investors have interest in them, for this not to happen developers need to produce something very useful for the public and such project will be very demanding, I'm tired of new projects anyway, too many new projects are just waste of time

The problem nowadays is that we have dozens of different projects covering the same topic. So there is a certain degree of fragmentation with the investment. Manytimes, good projects go down due to lack of interest from the whales. In such cases, the project and the promoter team may be good. But the promotional campaign may not be up to the mark.
4620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 12, 2020, 04:19:34 PM
^Great news! Instead of planning to stop play, just limit it to TV broadcasting. The players would definitely feel the emptiness of the stadiums where nobody will be present to cheer but nevertheless, the show must go on.

Where is the thread for IPL discussion?

TV revenues account for the lion's share of IPL revenues. But for the franchises, the gate collection also represents a large chunk of their revenues. If you take out the gate collection, then I am afraid that many of the IPL franchises will be having the balance sheet in deep red. A better idea would be to postpone the tournament by a couple of months. Or the BCCI can compensate the franchises for any loss from the lack of gate collection.

BTW, the official IPL thread is here:
