mining is ahead of anyone not willing to invest big dollar....
freelance work is best way to earn btc!!

Mining is doing realy really good right now. Some were profitable including me at 230... now we are 382 on coinbase.  This is a massive jump.

So those of us who mined through low values... really do good now.  And it could go back down... but as of right now it keeps going up.
4622  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how can i earn with bitcoin please? on: November 03, 2015, 09:48:52 AM
you can earn small amounts of bitcoins by claiming the highest paying faucets regularly or by participating in signature campaigns that are on this forum i guess these are the best ways

The highest paid faucets you still are making cents per hours.  The time just does not equal the amount of work.

Signature campaigns are good if used right.  I would be here posting no matter what so a little free coin for being here doing my normal posts is great.  It's probley best "free" way out there.

fully agree. don't waste your time with faucets, if you have too much time look for "Get paid to" sites. Tremorgames for example have bitcoin as payout method

even you will be many days just to get $1, but maybe if the bitcoin price is high above $1000 yeah I will try to play faucet Grin

I think being new some are tricked by looking at the amount in lower units of bitcoin.  They say earn X in X units of bitcoin and it sounds great.  People think they are earning thousands of Satosh's or something and think it's big.

Then in a few day's they convert and they are in the cents area.  Just to get to 1 dollar is a huge deal and a ton of time.
4623  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Announcement: 500 units New batch S7 hashing contracts will open sales on Nov.6t on: November 03, 2015, 09:43:48 AM
It is nice to see them coming online for contracts.  Can you tell us the price of them?

That will have a big effect on selling.
4624  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 21 Bitcoin Computer or Cloud Mining Website ? on: November 03, 2015, 09:33:20 AM
On currently available miners, 50% jump isn't a lot - especially as fast as diff has been climbing since the S5+ showed up.
Great for those of us that already have working miners, not much help if you don't already have the hardware in place and running as it has very little effect on chance of RoI for those that don't have very cheap electric.

Bitmain pricing tendancies, and lack of recent S7 availability, doesn't help any.

there is a reduction of 5.1% on the earning for one s5(it was 0.098 remember our dialogue about it?), now this si 0.093, not a big change, but the price is now 366, when it was 230, this is near 60%

in other words, the price is increasing so fast that diff can't keep with it, this is the perfect opportunity for some casual miners to jump in for a quick buck and sell their gear if the price would stop climbing

The ones who did the best are actually the ones who sold gear during 230's day's and invested right back into BTC.  I sold my S4's.

I played it safe and did not re-invest I kept it out for electricity.  I could have gained over 1k today if I just would have invested.  Today if you sell you are buying BTC at a new high price which seems to just keep going up.
4625  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining profitable again. on: November 03, 2015, 09:30:55 AM
i think s4/s5 are still very profitable if utilized correctly!

you mean if you heave very cheap electrcity, there is no other parameter to have to "utilize correctly" those miners

diff will skyrocket now with the new btc price, those miners will be useless in no time for small farms

They can only pump out so many machines.   With new price I think it will keep many profitable for quite a bit.

There are only data centers so they could build more that is true, and I'm sure some are.  But with a spike like this it could as easily go other way, so I don't think we will be seeing you are thinking.  Also hashrate is so high it takes quite a bit to move it.  I mean were in 5+ right now and huge gain on value.
4626  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Advise for mining on: November 03, 2015, 09:27:34 AM
Why don't you buy the latest S7=? Those would certainly bring you ROI and some profit before the next bitcoin halving.

I would guess part of it is that the S7 is currently out on Bitmains site.  So have to get from third party.

Also the S7 lite is rumored and no one knows for sure on it.  And Avalon 6 is rumored to be soon.... so if rumors are right people are hoping they compete a little on pricing.  But probley will not happen.
4627  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread oct 29th to Nov 12th picks are open!! With a bonus reward. on: November 03, 2015, 09:25:28 AM
coins are nuts  coinbase is pushing 377     we could crack 400 overnight

Crazy coinbase is setting at a pretty solid 379.64 right now.  So lookss like we are trying to break 380 wall.... who would have guessed this.

I love being wrong on speculation when it turns into something good.  Fun surprise to hit this on coinbase.
4628  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - AntRouter R1 ($49.99) COMPAC ($34.99) - ANTMINER U3 ($44.99) on: November 03, 2015, 09:21:56 AM
If you have not upgraded to CFW 0.94 do it! I am truly amazed with it now like around 15+ hours with 3 miners and it's not had a zombie it could not recover.

Every day I reset zombies in morning when I woke up and when I went to bed.  I have to admit not having to do that with this was awsome.   This is the best U3 controller out there with the custom firmware.  Nothing I tried matched this.

Awesome! Glad it's working for you too. Haloween is over, stop worrying about zombies!

I've successfully made it over 24 hour at this point.   All 3 are still running.  So looks great.

I checked pool side to see what it was doing and sure enough constant 3 U3 speed on pool side.   So very good.  I hope to make it into day's now like you Smiley.  I will not miss restarting those things.
4629  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: November 03, 2015, 09:19:19 AM
Is there an upgrade kit to s4+?

Do you think there will be an upgrade to newer chips in the future like they did with the s2?

No, it was canceled and they even skipped the S6. The closest to the S6 was the S4+/S5+. No official word of if there will be a S6 eventually but the upgrade kit for S4 were canceled for some reason.

They skipped it for good.   We will not be seeing a S6.   I think Dogie was one to inform us of that (I could be wrong I'm not 100 percent on that).

But it's hard to tell if they will do a S8, or they might do another + edition.  S7+ and hook 3 together.   And there is already the rumor of the new S7 with lower specs coming out this month, it has not been confirmed by bitmain.
4630  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards:SF100, the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner is accepting pre-order now on: November 03, 2015, 09:16:01 AM
We are sorry we didn't update the information for a long time.
Due to the uncertainty of crypto currency industry, to lower down the risk, we adjusted our strategy. We suspended our retail market, and focus on our VIP customers and the data center setup by ourselves. Because retail market need a bigger team to provide marketing, sales, customer service and technical support etc. It means the higher operating costs.
We are very happy to announce that our new batch will be ready at the end of Nov. The most machines are already booked out, only left very limit amount of machines. We suspend the plan to add machines in our farm, and now open the remaining batch for sale,  the price will be $1150 for each, and only accept 100+ order. it will be ready to ship at the end of Nov.

P.S.
We already added new wafer order, now we accept the booking for chips and miners.
SF3301: qty:2000+ , $25 per chip, the greater the number of the more discount
(We already open source our miner spec, please find it from https://github.com/sfards)

SF100(or same hashrate, new model): $1050 per miner, qty from 100+

Shipping date: Jan, 2016

Thanks for update.  I had a feeling it went to internal mining.  Did not think I would ever know if true.

Nice to see you are transparent now about mining them yourself.   Will these be new machines or are you selling machines that have been used in data center?
4631  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards:SF100, the first 28nm Dual-Mode Miner is accepting pre-order now on: November 03, 2015, 03:43:48 AM
Interesting that there was a bunch of time with no updates---

I'm just happy that they might be coming back.  I want to scrypt mine and they really are only game in town with a newer chip.  I need to know price as it needs to make sense, and time frame.

But it looks like my guess of internal mining might have been right that looks like a lot of SF100's in a data center somewhere.

I think ITOP has been selling them for about $1150 used...may be the best bet.

It needs to be lower then that I think after having.  ITOP paid original 1200 I think it was from factory I'm guessing. So they will want to keep it around that.

I'm hoping SFards will lower price considering having of LTC.   But time will tell.
4632  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: November 03, 2015, 03:41:42 AM
The best way to earn bitcoin is offeering your service
If do you have skill about it and to earn bitcoins a lot and fast you can tried gambling, but very risk.

always is primary to offers your services then go for sign and passive income from refs and others stuff selling gambling or something else

nice idea, i agree it
you can get double earning from service and from sign campaign

anyway im not agree with gambling

You can double it.... but you can lose it.  Over time the gambling place wins or they don't stay in business.

Why would you try to double your BTC when you know majority of time you lose?  It does not make investment sense.
4633  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Share Tips And Trick To Get BTC on: November 03, 2015, 03:38:07 AM
(snip was really long)
Everyone has to start somewhere so at first we may choose to stick with faucets then we soon realize that's a unproductive way to earn Grin
yes all must be started from something small(faucet) then we know how to get bigger(like a signature campaign or other) Smiley

This statement though is not really great.  Faucets cents per hour of work. They would be better off figuring out how to use a exchange and even if only buy 5 dollars worth so much worth while then faucets.

New or old member I never suggest doing faucets.  The pay just does not work out for amount of time.

Did you actually send anything? Can you post a screenshot (or a link to a screenshot)?

Can you tell us what you were buying? Was it a PM or Thread?  If PM then post pic.  If thread link to thread.

Also do you have the transaction ID proving it has been sent op?

Printers also can get infected aswell but it is not as common.  If new printer some store the last so many prints in it.  I suggest unplugging it for a few minutes and plug back in hoping to get rid of cache.

The older and dumber the printer the better  it is to use.  And of course don't use a public printer.

My printer is unplugged 99% of the time. Is that safe?

Its a dumb printer it doesnt have LAN access, nor any other extra features.
Most printer have a cache, my cheap laser printer has a 8mb cache. Information although highly unlikely, can be extracted if you ever dump your printer.

A cheap printer is not a bad thing at all in this case.   Unplugging one like that for just a bit likely gets rid of cache.   It is really the all-in-ones that are harder to get rid of.   The huge zerox type and other brands.  They just store a LOT of data on them depending on configuration.

So people should not be printing in public/work.   So I suspect these printers will not be as big of issue for individuals as most don't spend in the thousands for a all-in one printer.
4636  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread oct 29th to Nov 12th picks are open!! With a bonus reward. on: November 03, 2015, 03:13:35 AM
According to my calculations I am making exactly as much now as I was making back in the GPU Litecoin mining days. Back when every R9 270X was making $5/per day/per card. Only this time with ASIC equipment.

I really wish I didn't sell all my coins earlier at $300.

I sold most at 300  six to be exact.

then 1 at 356 and 1 at  369.

The rest I am holding I wish I waited just a little longer, but WTF if they drop  down to 280 I will look smart.

If they go to 500 I still have a few left.

I know what you mean I sold my S4's and put in a account to pay mining electricity.  I thought I was playing it safe and thought the same what if it goes other way.

I missed at least 1k dollars by not investing back into bitcoin and putting in a bank account in USD.   I feel stupid for it now... but I'm a cautious investor.

I agree with you. Sometimes its better to take a little profit then not get any profit at all or even worse, get a loss.

Who knew it would go to $375.

I sold 2500 worth of coins.

But I was very extended in that I have 3 s-7's costing over 5200.

If coins whale  away and  go way up   the s-7's do well.  If coins tank I have banked good money.

I really go with half a loaf is better then none.

You are right it is not all bad.  This jump makes mining much more profitable then 230's we were at forever.  So even if we profit not max... still is good overall.

I really want to see what Bitmain does on S7 price.  I can't speculate good enough to know.  But in past when it is this big of jump they raised price.
4637  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Oct 11 to Nov 11 Sidehack stick pool club. on: November 03, 2015, 03:10:46 AM
I like the look / idea behind this pool Smiley.

Just hopefully completing a deal to buy a couple of sticks from DaveF Smiley.

Fingers crossed after I buy them and when they arrive there will be space for me.

Out of curiosity is there any reason why the pool is restricted to 30?

mostly to keep the payoff high  for a stick owner.

you get 1/30 of 12 coins  for mining with a stick. this is Part A prize money  so .4 btc   which is 140 usd

you also get shares tallied  and a piece of Part B prize money     this is to encourage people adding extra mining gear like an s-3 or an s-5 or an s-7

Part A prize favors a guy with 1 or 2 sticks

Part B prize favors a guy with a stick and an s-5 or a stick and rented hash.

This is the only pool that a guy with 1 or 2 sticks can do very well in.

If we allow an unlimited amount of members  we can no longer do this.

But on Nov 11th   we will do  a new cycle if coins stay high and demand is there we can make the limit 40 rather then 30.  since 1/40 of 12 coins = .3 btc and at  current price of btc it is over 105 usd.

Which is far better then the price of one or 2 or 3 sticks.

Ok thats great thank you, hopefully I'll have a couple of sticks in a week or 2 than I can join in the fun if there's places available Smiley.

Sounds good to me.

With BTC jumping I don't have a problem going to 40 next cycle.  I like that we limit it where it is some fun for everyone.  But with Europe just getting sticks I don't want to leave all of them out.   I think 40 will be pretty high side of what we should go.

I think this club idea is a good one.  So I'm hoping we are able to do a Pod club (once they release) and a Compac club.   I don't know if there is enough but a U3 club could be interesting if there was the people, crazy guy's custom R1 firmware has actually made it very stable on U3.

That is consistent with my experience.  I have had many new cables/connectors under high loads that stay nice and cool, but a few months later they start getting hot.  I have also noticed variance even between samples of high quality cables.  After many negative experiences with KncMiner Neptunes that only have one PCIe, I plan to use all three on my S7s for backup and redundancy.  Burning my house down to save a few $'s on cables is not worth it for me.

Today I got the smell of smoke from my Corsair CX750M

It was connected with one S7 board and S7 controller.

Were all the PSUs connected to the same wall?

Ground needs to be the same.

My advice is to unplug it if you smell smoke.  I would inspect the miner to see where it's coming from for sure.  See if PSU if inside it or more likely a PCIe cord.

Upgrade PSU I highly suggest.  You can use PSU's for multiple generations of miners they will pay off.   Also if you downsize the nicer PSU's hold better value then lower quality.
