4621  Economy / Gambling / Re: Balance Removed from CoinRoyale on: April 05, 2021, 10:51:21 PM
Meanwhile at fortunejack my account with years being dormant .. the fund is still there safe .

Yea I can confirm that because I did a very similar thing except with Fortunejack, I dont know how but I forgot or misplaced my record of balance with them.  I was on the original FJ sig campaign long ago so think it was from that deposit.  Literally years go by and yet when I return Im able to recover my details the balance waiting for me, that is the way it really should be and I'll always repeat that story because its a point in their favour in terms of trust.   Anyone can fall ill etc, who knows the distractions people have unforeseen and unavoidable.   Its not a gold bar or some kind of cost to maintain, just a number I see no reason why they cannot just be a safe holder of funds like anywhere.
The problem is in FIAT currency its now a given any savings you have will be wiped out if you leave them there, some people speculate eventually this attitude will extend to pensions and people will be destitute/reliant on hand outs.   I understand archiving, banks will archive a current account but even a plain bank wont absorb the balance and argue its now theres.

Any balance that existed in the account would have been removed after 1 year
4622  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you guys happy if bitcoin will dropped to $10k? Why? on: April 05, 2021, 09:26:10 PM
Its not doing anything dramatic right now, its all balanced out and circled around the block in the last few days.   Kinda boring but someone is happy I guess, I prefer progression in some way personally.

Price was looking to break down but I think Dollar index has some trend down also which means any great move is not that likely as weakness elsewhere relieves any pressure from BTC pretty likely.
Its a bit cheeky trying to call a trend on a FIAT index but say 93 or above trading might signal we actually do something new after these holidays for some.

I mostly get that 33 satoshi one, the only other thing I have ever got was 33 rewards points so I did assumed it was easier than most others, but I never guessed it would be this common

Thing is the free entry even if its 33 sat is more then the base reward hourly claim thing for most people so its worth it as much as anything to flick through.   I got FUN token and the boosted wheel of fortune entries and alot of the time it will give me the 5000 level winnings though its scaled due to BTC rising so much recently but you know what I mean.  I got enough free lottery tickets in addition to the rp and plain sat payout that I was over 20k tickets entered with a small top off by myself.   However I didnt win so seems I need a luckier streak then that still.
If I get a golden ticket at some point I will be happy enough at that point, thats fairly hard odds to get pretty sure otherwise I dont mind the payouts so far.   I probably have another 20 spins waiting for me now, havent checked back just recently so it stacks up nicely.
4624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: April 05, 2021, 07:12:19 AM
There is definitely a campaign and budget to pay people to drum up support for oscar wins and nominations.   I'd still say oscars go with movies that deserve it in the main, so long as there is competition in that year you are talking the cream of the crop.   Just watching any of the nominated movies is probably fine, many people consider the win just personal preference and being nominated will boost sales enough that it has distinguished a movie from the crowd.

shouldn't put odds here because people will be influenced by that. And you won't get reliable opinions.
People are always biased to the popular and its already known who are the favourite actors.   Actors sometimes do awfully in a role and dont deserve any recognition or possibly they just keep playing the same role and its not worth any special praise.   The oscars itself has its own bias and its towards the greatest drama I think not politics, acting does have a left wing bias imo but its not universal so I dont label oscars political in that way.  I would say sentimentalism or something which is not a criticism exactly.
4625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it bearish season yet? on: April 04, 2021, 11:59:58 PM
Chart to follow up it recovers once again:

Breakdown failed its trend after a few 4hr blocks, the lows being the prior highs of over a week ago.  Overall that's still bullish, then we have the weekly average its broken below now confirming above on 4hr bars as Japan opens.    Then I think to properly break the range of this negative Saturday move it needs also confirm above 58.5k or we might just cycle again.   Japan action can be quite negative and contrary to weekend pricing.
Quote
Price to watch:  57493

This still stands, we really did nearly move below it but the very next 4hr bar moved right above it.  Its been faltering but its not broken downwards properly, bears frustrated.   No time to lament, actually breaking down here would count more, below weekly average, a broken rally etc.  could be the start of something wider
4626  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have a relatives who ask advise to invest, what should I do? on: April 04, 2021, 09:07:50 PM
Cant really recommend anything beyond just a tech fund is the normal level of investment and risk that the mainstream should be in.   If they hold Tesla in a tech fund then they are holding Bitcoin indirectly and that might be the most sensible thing they can do.   Problem with recommending anything is the involvement requires people to be alot more active, its no good they buy in March and panic sell in July.
Dollar cost averaging could be that you mention to buy BTC once a month for the next few years, overall they will be involved without having to be too concerned on the news in particular, only the market direction and crypto being proven valid over that time.
4627  Economy / Speculation / Re: Despite six months of rising Bitcoin prices, Peter Brent says up to $ 50,000 cor on: April 04, 2021, 09:03:27 PM

He's predicting a strong bull run, but only after a very strong correction.

I wouldnt go with a fixed nominal figure, it could be the correction is harsh but with alot of volume its being bought into hence no giant price fall.  50% rather then 50k would be a big move but its not really incorrect that a large move might correct to an even greater high later.
Theres nothing to hint this especially now, we did get a recent high which is lower then previously but its not done anything to confirm price movement downwards.   Usually weakness is met with some buying and we continue upwards.   I think dollar itself is altered and that then changes patterns in BTC buying, maybe a change in easy money flow like a river altering course might cause the dramatic move that leads to a correction.
4628  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin wasn’t created to make you rich. It was created to make you free on: April 04, 2021, 08:52:35 PM
Savings dont exist if they are being reduced in value every year, that is a problem.   When I was young they gave us 10% interest returns on the money far above inflation for me as I was waiting on technology prices to drop so that worked for me.  Right now technology is not that much cheaper over time and savings are wasted instead of being useful capital in an economy.

Great title, the value of being free is ironically far in excess of the idea of being rich but not free.    Capitalism works because it enables society not just the rich as many think to label it and so I will always be looking for Bitcoin to enable all people to be more free then they would be otherwise if not for its existence.   If BTC doesnt help society I dont think it succeeds even if the price is higher it needs to keep improving efficiency in any way possible for sure.
4629  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it bearish season yet? on: April 03, 2021, 09:40:24 PM
Bears out of hibernation, autumn might be more dangerous.    We're back to the weekly average here which can be important to note in momentum terms:

If we close below here on a 4hr bar its reasonable price pulls back some but otherwise its likely to just continue to cycle and from a wider view go sideways overall.
From a trading point of view I want to see more action around the 50 day average, if that were to occur then we'll have a lower high here which can be said to be bearish in a more important way then just pure speculation and waves of trading.  However overall the market is especially strong for some time now and any negative view should be in the minority.

Price to watch:  57493
Closing high of the mid point to FEB, consider it something of a pivot now to the sea-saw between bears and bulls
4630  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can BTC go down to <$5k again now? on: April 03, 2021, 09:08:17 PM
Back last March someone was asking about selling BTC when it was sub 6k I think it was and nobody at that time could say it was a definite buy or least the exact bottom price; extreme uncertainity.  They sold their BTC in the doubt which was incorrect reaction to pricing.  The thing to remember is not that we cant see lows but if it pushes past the bottom of 20k say or 14k even then its very likely too cheap and returns back up just as fast.    I dont know what other global event we could have that would create that kind of sell off but its not impossible, just the probability is unknown.
A proper price is formed over more then minutes hours or even a day, it could be we see a nasty low but it never lasts the week so its then ironically a buy because it reverses itself.   I try to spot these all the time because market is always slightly too forward either up or down and its an opportunity to trade then.
4631  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: April 02, 2021, 08:44:12 PM
I did not know the dollar was made legal for all, that is something at least.    Shame the dollar itself has quite severe inflation for anyone abroad and outside QE programs and so not close to the source; dollar also is constant money printing but its on a far lower rate.

Quote
then the extrapolated inflation rate is currently 32%. Compared to previous years, this is low, but still extremely high, and no one really knows if the data is not manipulated in some way.

Thats extreme inflation but its not hyper inflation.  This is a similar rate of inflation to the UK during the 1970's widely seen as a time of failure, closed industry, failing electric supply and striking labour forces; the IMF in that case had to assist in some kind of rescue to the country in order to avoid a collapse.

Quote
it will cost the government more than $0.65 to print and distribute these banknotes.
They can print a note for less then a cent probably, no other business can rival that kind of easy return.   Its the US 1 dollar which is made from cotton and has all kinds of costs that might exceed its face value

there are things that can't be blamed to oil prices...

The global oil price is lower then it should be, its a reflection of lower global growth and Im speaking of a decade view not recent upsets especially.   Obviously alternative energy sources will become more apparent but thats not the greatest explanation, oil is hard to beat on a calorific value just like coal is still useful a hundred years after its peak.   OPEC will continue to have a hard time keeping oil prices towards where they want them, its an ongoing challenge for every oil producer.

7 tx per second or some other very low amount (visa alone does 1700 tx per second)
They arent doing equal tasks there, Visa has the easier job by far.   I think bitcoin will need to progress but its not purely about that comparison as its already the case that far more transactions denominated in BTC are occurring off the blockchain then on it.   If we could total up all the tx occurring in a related way on each website in the name of BTC but not being logged on the blockchain then we'd see a far higher figure.     Ideally I'd like to see us move away from leaning on each website for security and integrity, there has to be a half way between the big blockchain and settlement of the individual amounts.
The heights of Price by itself isn't the success I want to see but the breadth and base to Bitcoins abilities would be far more impressive to me.
4633  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does US$ money supply correlate with XTC/US$ rate? on: April 02, 2021, 05:18:46 PM
Monetary supply wont be linear in its effects, the reason being fractional reserves make for dissimilar monetary expansion across various levels of the economy.   Its likely Dollar overall is at a lower value then prior to the idea of QE being introduced, the FED has the idea they can just counter act deflationary effects with new money and somehow avoid a recession occurring.   They are causing a loss of growth, one of the main aims of the FED is to avoid irregular markets, price crashes and a break in financing as was threatened in 2008 where fear was apparent in markets.
It is impossible we have a perfectly calm market, at some point we will see prices vary rapidly.  Some think Gold will rise, some think BTC will gain where Dollar loses.   Overall I think Bitcoin will help avoid at least some of the failures of dollar but not all as the economy itself is impeded by the inflation of excessive fiscal budgeting and easy monetary policy.
Watch Biden and his speech on spending 2 trillion dollars, see if you agree as its your money not his.
4634  Economy / Speculation / Re: March has always been best month for BTC with 30% gains the last years on: April 02, 2021, 05:12:34 PM
Its all relative, the month itself might be bad but if you can buy into the lowest price in a bad month you will still a gain to the highest price overall.   It seems smartest overall to be a buyer in the most negative month, so long as price action is positive in other months of the year then the chances are higher of a gain.

All they have to do
They cannot clear that transaction, its a business they have to balance the difference from doge to BTC in order to cash you out.   Since Doge can go back to 1 SAT they cant just assume it'll be fine to presume the price stays roughly where it is.  If its not clearing for anyone I would guess they dont have a way to convert that doge back to BTC until the whole deal is fully working and able to clear.
Sounds like a right pain, reminds me of running the full Bitcoin blockchain wallet when segwit first came in that was the only easy way I could utilise a segwit address Lauda wanted me to post.  Transactions were costing upto $40 at the time so it was understandable, I used a 1 terrabyte drive to download and host the full blockchain.  It was quite simple when it all works but if doge is quite massive by now and it has to be juggled like this then you got my sympathy dealing with it falling over, etc.
I still have this drive with that same epic wallet on there and now it goes click click, Im waiting for BTC to be worth so much its worth me fixing it and recovering the whole wallet.

Lottery draw may be higher in reward rather than converting reward points directly to btc which is approximately 0.001BTC minimum for 100k RP. But still, converting rp into btc would be a better choice as you have guaranteed 0.001btc.

RP can be used to yield even more RP, a far better return almost immediately but with the volatility in Bitcoin not likely to be at an end if you could use RP to buy into Bitcoin at its nadir yet still within a large bullish trend then it could be very profitable.   I'm not saying it will happen, but for a trader the ideal would be some event driven politics, etc sell off down to 20k and then a resumption of a rise all the way upto 100k BTC.   If you convert at just the right time in the gloomiest setting then sell at the boom, thats a nice pay day.
In 2017 China banned BTC and it fell drastically then it tripled I think it was in a couple months.

I didnt get my March closing price guess right, it resumed the positive upwards far too soon so in effect we never got the dramatic move, in appearance it just closed sideways at the same level as prior to the retraction to the 50 day average.   Right now that same price would be 53k, first touch this year in Jan was 29k so thats been the base line (vs froth) for wider move beyond 20k and important if we alter below it.
4637  Economy / Speculation / Re: A 70% Drop May Occur after BTC Hitting Around $68,700 on: April 01, 2021, 09:47:23 PM
May occur, theres always some probability same as anything like a massive earthquake in Japan or whatever natural phenomena that far outranks our perfect view of the world and forthcoming events planned out.
In a normal view theres no special reason for a fall right now though its fair that a larger pull back occurs it doesnt have to.   We already got the 50 day average as a low recently and that might be all the weakness seen for some time yet.

Right this moment i see the price as skipping along a similar price line and equate that to a stone skipping across a still lake, eventually it stops staying just above and sinks.   But till it moves its not yet weakness really.
4638  Economy / Speculation / Re: Paypal allows crypto payment for all 29mil merchants on: April 01, 2021, 09:24:42 PM
They dont have to sell, they can hedge with contracts for difference or whatever the market provides to swap them over to dollars then its someone elses problem to place in the market.   I dont think paypal is interested in crypto as such, its just another tool like any other currency they deal with in order to facilitate customers sticking with them ultimately and keeping a revenue stream of fees.   Their margins will cover the costs of dealing with BTC and I would guess its more efficient for them not to live deal BTC themselves but lay off that business to others as per cashflow requirements.
4639  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: April 01, 2021, 01:00:26 PM
They have a military dictatorship for government and an economy, nothing is stabilising under that load.  All that can be said is the oil price rose a bit, as I understand it the military is involved in drug trafficking and benefits personally from that.   If you know rich people you might survive but the economy outside of that corruption is a failure.
Venezuela has the largest proven oil reserves in the world, greater then the middle eastern countries but crucially its sour crude oil which needs refinement before use.   At best they would have efficient innovative industry but as the country is ruled by the gun its a failure getting worse because no investment can be made.

So how do you guys get around these restrictions?
The only way to deal in a country with failed currency is via barter, it becomes an agrarian economy probably and they transport raw goods across a border to trade elsewhere.  I dont suppose they survive very well otherwise.
4640  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it bearish season yet? on: April 01, 2021, 02:05:52 AM
Not even close to an entire season of bearish, it can pull back if it first breaks momentum but its already seen the 50 day average recently which was a quick bounce soon after.
At present its good above the 2 day average:

Ignore that possibly and just count the 58k level seen on Weds as the place to watch for a pull back signal.
