Now they're using the DAO to pump it again.

Will there be many more DAO? Does that mean the Etheruem price will be pumped again and again in the future?
There's only one DAO event and it ends in 17 days time. The DAO will then accept projects and put them to the vote of all DAO holders. All DAO projects will run on the Ethereum blockchain. This is why it's so important that you all read up, understand and take action if you want to join the DAO. This is a one time only event. No point missing out.

there's the Slock DAO, but there are and will be other projects based on the same decentralised autonomous. organisation structure. buy demand for ETH could be stimulated by future DAO projects.

If the Slock DAO is successful, there will be more DAO fund raising. So the Etheruem price can be supported.
All the DAO projects run in Ethereum so each DAO project adds further support and demand for ETH. Anyone who wants to get into ETH seriously needs to start acting now. Otherwise they will miss out.

4623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum - Time to buy or time to sell? on: May 09, 2016, 10:49:58 PM
right now ethereum has entered another bubble. it is smaller but it is still a bubble and this price looks to me like the top so i say this is sell time and buying here may lead to loss because of the dumps.
I also feel same for current ethereum pump, but it may also be quite natural bubble from increasing demand due to DAO tokens or some intresting coming after consensus. But whatever is the reason there will be soon be dumpers all around the market making correction in the price. Best time to buy coins are at the correction period.

ETH has been in a general down trend since the high on March 13.  The April 30 spike broke some of that momentum when it bounced off the long term trendline. Then the DAO sale kicked in, which has sucked up around 3% of all Ethereum so far, and is providing a short term boost to the price. But as DAO sale ends--and if BTC cuts north on a big rally--ETH could be in for another big sell off.
Not really. The DAO and the Ethereum foundation now own close to 3/4 of all ETH. That ETH is locked say from the markets so in essence there is less ETH available for traders to buy. As demand increases for this smaller supply them price should rise.
4624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum - Time to buy or time to sell? on: May 09, 2016, 10:47:27 PM
Right now you can bag 100 ETH for circa $950. That's a great price.

The price is still the same today. It seems the Ethereum price is very stable. It is amazing there is no big dump.
Everyday investors are waking up to the great potential that Ethereum holds.
4625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if Satoshi Returned ? on: May 09, 2016, 01:14:59 AM
He might still have some influence over the blocksize debate and voice his opinions, and yes the 1 million coins he is holding could potentially flood the market, which the exchanges can actually help to buffer by setting some rules?

Other than that, bitcoin is basically a trustless system and depends on noone, controlled by noone.
His 1m is now only 15% total supply so the worst could be 15% variation. But as others have said Satoshi if not dead to life is still dead to Bitcoin because he's been out the scene so long now.
4626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Proposal To Increase Bitcoin Supply Above 21 Million Coins. on: May 09, 2016, 01:01:59 AM
Pretty shocked to hear this tabled. But what do others think of the proposal to increase bitcoins supply above Satoshis preprogrammed 21 million supply?
4627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin IS basically DESTROYED on: May 09, 2016, 12:55:39 AM
"Blockstream implementing their SegWit soft fork Trojan Horse"

Lmao this guy is losing it. The blockstream FUDsters know no limits on their nonsense. The trojan horse was the Bitcoin XT, then Bitcoin Classic hard fork attempts, not segregated witness, segwit is actual advance in scaling Bitcoin. Whatever, it's a waste of time dealing with this shit.

segwit is how we make the code more sophisticated. rather than saying "not enough planes for people. let's make plane cabins twice as large and change nothing else about the design".
Incorrect. Segwit is more like saying we only need 1 pilot fly an aircraft so let's scrap the copilot and cabin crew to fit x more passengers into the same sized aircraft. After all what's the worst that can happen?
4628  Other / Off-topic / Re: I spent all my saving on bitcoin, now i am broke on: May 09, 2016, 12:48:13 AM
Even the best USB sticks fail over time. What price where they each and how long do you plan on leaving them buried underground potentially exposed to dampness?

Haters gonna hate.

Or in this case...

Dumbers gonna dumb.
4630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ETH] Ethereum = Scam on: May 09, 2016, 12:25:23 AM
The price of the Etherum is still over $5. If it is a scam, it will not survive that long and still the second largest coin.
It is that low? First thing I hear about it was that it was at $98. What a scam  Roll Eyes
Glad I didn't put anything into it or I would be a sore loser  Angry

The Ethereum price was never $98. The highest was around $14. It might be $98 in the next few years/decades.

if ethereum reach 98$ i'll be so happy LOL  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Grin Grin

Its got a long way off to reach that figure and with DAO on its way out is going to be interesting to see where n how the markets go in the next 6 months. ETH to get anywhere near $98 or at 98$ a go would need to be 10x the current price now and market cap would be the same as Bitcoin cant see that happening anytime soon. Maybe ETH works different and dont need such market cap. Get as many services in place and shops accepting like bitcoin then am sure it could get to the same as BTC one day but who know. Only time is going to tell in ETH case.

The DAO and the Ethereum Foundation are on their way to owning circa 3/4 of all current ETH. With all that ETH locked away in smart contracts the supply of ETH is constrained but the demand the same and growing. When you get scarcity situations like that price usually goes North.

Meh they got it wrong its more like 2.3% if calculation done correct and even in comments people saying it too they don't hold 38% of ETH.

"holds over 38% of the entire ETH supply" -- no, Tual said "over 38% of all ETH in all Ethereum contracts combined." Not the entire supply. People get so drown in they dont see everything that is said correctly. Current stock of ETH total is 2.3% and rising so no doubt soon be 3% but people need read proper and not get mixed up in it Smiley

Are you intentionally retard? Oki calculate the 2.3% as proof and prove us all, the press, and even Tual himself all incorrect.
4631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to buy DAO tokens the easy way using Bittrex on: May 09, 2016, 12:15:30 AM
I'd advise all interested DAO purchases to do it via the Ethereum Mist wallet. From there you can set up the smart contract to watch and will use it for voting proposals.

But for those who are new to ETH will have difficulty downloading the whole ETH blockchain because of unstable peers.
It takes a few hours. You still have circa 21 days to jump on the DAO.
4632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why not just use Bitcoin? on: May 09, 2016, 12:13:21 AM
You won't have the opportunity to increase the amount of your bitcoin holdings at a faster phase if you don't invest it on other bitcoin alternatives.
correct sir. Bitcoin has already expanded x3000 it's original price. Now it's ETH turn.
4633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why not just use Bitcoin? on: May 08, 2016, 09:51:37 PM
I'm now really scared that my BTC will be worthless in a year or two, so I have started buying Rimbits instead.

Just don't say you are warned guys.

Rimbits is a scam. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Everything's a scam when you're not owning a metric shit-ton of it, right?
People like you make the altcoin section the shithole it is.
The ETH naysayers are the worst. Utter filth.

4636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Daohub to become one of the largest crowdfunds ever. on: May 08, 2016, 09:01:21 PM
So...I went to Bittrex and transferred a smallnumber of  Eth as an experiment , which as far as I can tell should have "become" Dao.
It says it should take 30 minutes to update. But 10 hours later nothing is showing?

What am I missing?

I think they advise not sending directly from exchange.
4637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Daohub to become one of the largest crowdfunds ever. on: May 08, 2016, 10:47:41 AM
Most of the hype comes from 'new' money from the eth bubble.

The Ethereum price is quite stable at the moment. There is no big increase. Does it mean the DAO prevents its drop?
Quite possibly; it could drop significantly when the DAO funding stage ends.
The DAO and the Ethereum foundation currently own about 3/4 of all ETH supply this locking it up in their vaults which means that there is less ETH available in supply for others to buy. Less supply with the same or more demand usually means price increase. No idea where you get the idea of price falls from.

Is it possible to send from myetherwallet to the daohub?
Yes. But I'd advise sending from the Mist wallet as its from there you can watch the smart contract and vote on proposals. Daohub explains all.

Actually, tho' this is prolly because of my underpowered Windoze rig, I had a huge hassle sending my ETH from Mist - so much so that I wound up using geth (which went through with no complication.)
I used geth at first then moved to mist for ease of use watching the DAO.

Best Altcoin to invest in for 2016 and WHY?

"Lisk,Lisk and again Lisk!!!"

"LISK has a very good hype around it and it is only growing each day until it is released by the end of the month." 24.may

"and the LISK hype is not unreal or spammy like what eth used to do a couple of months ago."
"i actually like the project so i am very excited to see how the future of this coin is going to be like."

LISK is on a good way to replace ETH, many updates, good managers, dev....

here is the LISK BLOG: https://blog.lisk.io/
LISK is a scam run by the ex-cryptsy crooks and a failed cold fusion developer. Id advise staying away.
