Amazing how one could just refund the first few lenders as an act of good faith and just shut us all up. Instead... I think he likes the attention. I admit i find it all amusing though so it is a two way street.

That wouldn't shut you up and you know it.  He'll just wait until he's ready because full repayment is the only thing that will silence the peanut gallery.

But wouldn't a slow start help quiet everyone?

He's either asleep or headed there soon.  10 payments then 8 hours of silence will only create a frenzy.

Notme.. Maybe we are nonchalant about this whole thing because most of us do not send btc to strangers. You sound a bit stressed. Maybe pirate should apologize for his dramatics? It is not us, those who sent him nothing, that started this soap opera. Look in the mirror. You are simply reaping what you sowed.

I'm not worried in the least, just annoyed by people talking out their ass.  I didn't invest more than I can afford to lose, and I've taken out more than I put in.  My pass through customers have already been made whole from my personal funds.  I truly believe I will receive the rest of my funds, but if not I'll be just fine.

He doesn't care, he has no skin in the game.

if pirate doesnt pay up whats your plan for the coins your holding?

hookers and blow.

as i've said all along, your exposure to BST is immediate upon sending coins, regardless of where actual tx input/outputs point to.

if BST fails, you lose.

there is a much more detailed explanation of how this works, in this thread somewhere, although finding it might take a while.

Sorry did I get that right? If pirate fails to pay you then you will not pay your investors? Grin

That's how a pass through works dingus.  Except for mine.  My investors were already paid.
4627  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is SatoshiDice illegal? on: August 21, 2012, 03:33:56 AM
Yes, but a .com domain can just be easily taken by the US government.

Quote
On Friday, visitors to those sites were met with a message that begins: “This domain name has been seized by the F.B.I.” The government used the same controversial tactic of seizing domain names in actions last year against sites accused of copyright violations. Losing a domain name can be costly for a company that has invested in promoting it as the main route to its site. But the tactic can also be of only temporary effectiveness, because the company can switch to a new Web address that is outside the reach of law enforcement in the United States — one that, for example, does not end in .com.

The owners of the gambling sites were brought to jail. If SatoshiDice wants an IPO, they need to start protecting their assets because if US cracks them down then we'll have nothing..
Oh no!  They'll have to buy a new domain name!

Yes, you can buy a new domain. But is the owner of the website anonymous enough to escape the law?

Bitcoins are not money.

Zynga also lets you gamble with internet credits, remember

Thats a very good point.

No clue who, and what makes you so sure they even live in the US?

Seems like as good a place as any to throw the lock down.

@payb.tc

For what it's worth, this thread is just for the trolls now, would you consider making a locked thread or posting on your site with actual news and updates that we can see so there's no need to wade through pages and pages of trolls trying to impress each other?

Thank you.

Yes, please lock the thread until you have an update for us.

See, if you actually had an account, you could go on the site and look at the "Sum total of older accounts". I think this is there to see where you are in line.

Only 125k BTC ahead of me!

4638  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is the end on: August 20, 2012, 07:41:33 PM
but the law is not on his side.

This is really one of the most stupid arguments I have ever heard. The law is not on the side of every single victim of the law. The law is not on the side of Pussy Riot or Assange. It was not on the side of Geronimo and it is not on the side of Salman Rushdie. The law was not on the side of the Jews, it was on the side of the Nazis.

Exactly what is the law doing when whipping a wine drinker bloody or jailing a fan of shrooms?

You must have to remember that we live not in vacuum, but in society with real people, who do not want to be abused by crazy mushroomeater with sharp knife. If someone don't like this, he can make his own heaven with blackjack and hookers.

I have never seen anybody on mushrooms violently attack anyone.  K2, alcohol, and other legal substances are a different story.

Nice try though.
4639  Economy / Speculation / Re: The recurring trouble-cycle of bitcoins, and why I'm here. on: August 20, 2012, 07:39:45 PM
Ever heard of Ghandi?

Of course I have. And history shows that the Ghandi outcome is the exception rather than the norm.

Only because nobody else has been willing to take a beating without raising their own fist.  The principle works, but violence is easier.
4640  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: August 20, 2012, 07:36:23 PM

No it's not it's arrogant, and economical harmful.

Why do you think the term "legal tender" refers to government issued turds which you are forced to accept?

Most people see no ethical issue in choosing dealers who accept the credit card I prefer over one who doesn't. Why Bitcoin? He didn't say: I only accept you as a provider if you do *not* accept fiat. Then you'd have a point.

Good job at nit-picking my argument.

It's a valid flaw in your argument.  Demanding someone take what you have or not doing business with them is not arrogant or harmful to them.  It may harm you, but he's free to limit himself like that if he chooses.
