Well that was an ugly first game for those of us rooting for the Tampa Rays.  I had a pretty good feeling going in to this series that the Dodgers would end up taking this series, as much as I hope that doesn't happen.  Anyone have any feelings on tonight's game?  Right now LA is -130 and the Over/Under is at 8.

I know it got blown out last night but I'm taking the under on all of these games regardless of pitcher.  There will be some tight games the whole series can't be an offense fest with the pitching clubs.  If I had to go at it I'd pick the dodgers and the under on separate tickets.  Parlays are too hard in baseball at least for me.

Great seeing the Rays come back and tie up the series.  Had the Dodgers gone up 2-0 I would have really started to question whether the Rays had a chance what so ever.  Kind of surprised Kershaw did as well as he did, being that he normally gets rocked in the playoffs ( which is just such a weird phenomenon being that he's HOF in the making).

Vegas has for tomorrow game Dodger at -155 and the Over/Under at -7.5.  I think I am going to bet the under as well.

Lol I would never be gambling on cornhole, but I sure as hell do like playing it.  Where I grew up, Midwestern United States, we call it "bags".  Personally I'm a much bigger fan of the game "washers" .  I find it to be much more of a game of skill than luck, like with bags.  It was always just much more popular where I grew up then bags was.  But, love playing both.

4623  Other / Archival / Re: Why you should not use Paypal for Bitcoin on: October 22, 2020, 03:28:35 PM
PayPal NEVER wanted to add cryptocurrency to their platform so lets just start off with that.  This goes against their business model and is very telling how far bitcoin is coming along that they actually did add it to their platform.  That said, PayPal is a scumbag piece of shit company that is as immoral and corrupt as they come.  PayPal also reports transactions, so keep that in mind. They (kind of like Coinbase) will ban you whenever they please as well as lock up your funds...my advice...stay far away!
4624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Jamie Dimon's ( "Bitcoin is a scam") Bank -JP Morgan Chase- Fined 1 Billion on: October 22, 2020, 03:24:33 PM
Well what do you know, more scams from one of the worlds most corrupt and immoral banks and their CEO Jamie Dimon.  Many of you of course remember how Jamie Dimon came out and called Bitcoin a scam. The funny thing is the day he came out and said this Chase Bank trader made moves to take advantage of the price drop.

Once again his bank gets caught for fraudulent trading activities. So I ask, what's really the scam..bitcoin or traditional banks such as JP Morgan Chase

4625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost more in the process to recover ? on: October 21, 2020, 08:22:43 PM
I guess this would have happened with the most of us ain't it ?

The other day I lost a few $ gambling on Roobet. My luck was so bad that day that when I thought of gambling a little more so that I recover the lost funds I lost more than 3 times the amount I lost earlier  Grin Grin Eventually I just quit the game and didn't play it again for 2 days. This is too obvious for any gambler and everyone can relate to this feeling.

What you guys do when such a thing happen with you ?

P.S : I did play the game again after a few days and recovered some of the $. But this time I quit the game while I was in profit.  Tongue

P.P.S : I was conscious while I was trying to recover the lost funds and I tried only till that point where I can't afford to lose anymore. I always keep in mind the amount that I can afford to lose.

When you gamble you should only go in with an amount that you are willing to lose.  It's just like setting up a financial portfolio.  It's important to have a base foundation of more common and "safer" investments, but it's also important to try and hit some home runs ( buying crypto, penny stocks et).  However with those home runs you're trying to hit, you want to use money that once again you're willing to lose completely.

Thx bud. Was board and thought it could be kinda cool to see how it played out.

I’ll be honest I don’t like the encyclopedia or it’s author very much. It’s filled with misinformation ( I’ve got pen marks all over mine) and it’s really more so the work of the community. He’s not really even a collector, it’s all about money. Same with his cronies. It needs to be redone.

Let's face it, there will never be current, or thoroughly correct "book" .... We should all make our own encyclopedia, using a site kinda like discogs.com. Wink

Well that's not even what I'm referring to. The current encyclopedia is just filled with misinformation such as things like mint totals.  Then there's things such a praise for Infinitum Coin saying it's one of the most well established business etc etc and they are nothing but a scam.  Like how does dude not have BitBills in the first version.

https://wiki.coin.community was designed for this purpose. A couple of people have helped a little bit, but it's mainly just been me working on it and there's still a lot missing, feel free to make any edit/additions  Grin

I am one of those that helped a LITTLE lol.  I just had too hard of a time trying to code in all the information.  Some of us started a website few years ago and I was much better at creating on that site.  For some reason the wiki site was just much more confusing.  If I could more easily add to the site I would help out a lot more.
4627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What asset would you HODL for the next 5 years?? on: October 21, 2020, 07:56:33 PM
...

Whatever it is the best choice to hold is bitcoin and nothing is better in my opinion.

I agree with you, bitcoin is the best option to hold for the next 5 years, but some alts like ETH, LTC, XMR, and all those classics should be a good option for holding too.

We are talking about a long period of time, and remember the local coins get devalued, si, the best options are cryptos or metals like silver and gold.

What is special about XMR? It's a centralized "cryptocurrency".  The truth is very few Cryptocurrencies have a chance for much growth in the future right now.  Bitcoin and Monero in my opinion are the two by most ligament crypto currencies and others such as litecoin and ethereum are decent project that do have some upside.  ETH has a long ways to go though as smart contracts have stalled out.  But...buy bitcoin, it's easily the best out there.

We have been hearing about PayPal using cryptocurrency/bitcoin for the longest time.  It at first seemed like something that would absolutely never happen.  The fact that PayPal FINALLY did actually add cyrpto shows you how big bitcoin has become. Trust me, PayPal NEVER wanted to actually add bitcoin or crypto functionality.  They are such a corrupt scumbag company, this actually does make them look a bit better.
4630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We don't do it in Bitcoin! on: October 21, 2020, 03:07:43 AM
Lol this is funny as hell first of all.  Once again we are seeing the comparison of bitcoin and gold by you and by the news you're talking about.  They are very different things that happen to have a few of the same qualities.  I honestly applaud the guy for trying.  Some of the worlds countries taxes are so god damn high and unfair, if you pay your due and then some..fuck them I have no problem with this.  I guess this is one positive over gold though if you are comparing, I'd rather sneak nothing up my butt but keep a number stored in my head lol.
4631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin legit or not on: October 21, 2020, 02:59:00 AM
Man this is some funny shit.  The people who know best about whether Bitcoin and or other types of cryptocurrencies are legit tend to be those in the financial field. Analysts, advisors, etc.  As an investment advisor I spent countless years of my life studying for licensing exams where much of it is to train to learn how to spot illegitimate financial products ( I say this over and over on here I feel like which is annoying even to me, but to make my point).  Bitcoin IS legit. Most cryptocurrencies are NOT legit.

Donald Trump is not a financial advisor and he doesn't know a god damn thing about bitcoin or how it works. Plain and simple.
4632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MLB - Major League Baseball- Betting Thread on: October 21, 2020, 02:26:22 AM
The difficult thing about baseball betting is games are just so unpredictable.

I would say Baseball/MLB is unbetable (sp ?), but did you ever think about why it is so unpredictable ? I thought about that very often, when I was following MLB some years ago and occasionally bet on it - but never with high stakes fortunately. Till now, this for me is still the hardest sport/league to bet on and I had bets on basically anything in my life.

I came to this conclusion in no particular order:

1) There are too many games.

162 regular season games in a span of 6 months - thats 27 games per month, phew. If you have such many games, there is lots of room for error and one single game/loss doesn't matter. As such, the players don't bother with losing games, since you will have the next game just around the corner, where you can win again. I am a firm believer that every professional athlete, no matter how rich, has a lot of idealism in him and hates to lose. But if you do something day in day out for 6 months, this eagerness to compete and win deadens a bit. So you just go out, do your stuff and check the scoreboard after 9 innings. If you win, fine, if not, fine as well, tomorrow is the next game.

2) There are no secrets.

The MLB (and all other major sports in US) is very well covered. There is no stat you can think of that is not publicly available, you have media coverage of all happenings 24/7, you can watch every game live and every little news that could influence the outcome spreads like a wildfire - so how can you get an edge betting on MLB as a single person or even a group working together ?!

3a) Baseball is a game of luck.

I mean short-term here, but this a bold and debatable statement Smiley Longterm the better teams come out on top, but the result of a single game is often a product of very little details.
This starts with the refs having their individual strike zone, which is part of the game since ages, but kind of pathetic in these digital times. And believe it or not, it's priced into the odds as well.
The result of a batter hitting the baseball and what comes out of it is a matter of millimetres and I doubt that even the best batters have that much control over it. They swing and maybe hit, but if they hit the baseball in the sweet spot or 1mm higher or lower is just luck. Thus you as a punter never know when luck strikes (no pun intended) and you have a homerun or just another easy out for the opponent. And even the players do not know, so how should you.

3b) The difference in quality is not very big.

Most teams are pretty evenly matched, in contrast to NFL or NBA for example. I don't know why this is the case, because there are so many players and theoretically the more players the bigger the difference in quality. Maybe it's because there is only one skill position (Pitcher) and the other positions can be learned and mastered relatively easy ?

These two points are also the reason, why you rarely see odds under 1.50 in MLB, anything can happen in any game due to the above.

4) The odds are very well compiled.

This is also a result of point 2 and the huge databases - also from the past - Vegas has available. In general I don't think there is lots of value to be found in Baseball odds. Beating the vig is already a huge challenge, although it's not really big in MLB. Beating the vig and making some profit on top is nearly impossible, if we look yield-wise at least. You can for sure generate lots of turnover with all those gazillions of games and high betting limits, but you will most likely have to work with something around the 1% mark or even lower. Not sure if thats worth all the hassle you have to go through by trying to be successful in MLB - and you better know what you are doing, i.e. treat this as a full-time job, when creating lots of turnover in MLB.

I completely forgot to read this the other day.  You make some great points here and some things I don't quite agree with, but overall pretty spot on.

1- Hell yes there are too many games.  I played baseball from like 5 years old throughout high school, love the Chicago Cubs with a passion..but I am sick of so many games. It waters the game and the brand down and the thing is most people who love baseball too feel the same way.  This is a big part of why baseball is really on hurt mode and the younger generation isn't nearly as interested. I still love baseball to death but I want like 100 games.  I didn't have as much to do as a kid like they do today with social media, gaming systems etc etc so I question sometimes if I'd be as big of a baseball fan as I am had I grown up in today's day and age.  They need to cut back games but they never will. They've got too many massive contracts out right now so if you cut an significant amount of days it will take so many years for them to make up for that income loss ..just no chance n hell they want to go through that ( even though they'd all still be filthy rich ).

2- You are right

3- I am sick of the human umpires.  They do have their own agendas back there and they are absolutely not needed back there to call balls and strikes..it's not 1925 anymore. and of course it's priced in to the odds..Vegas isn't stupid, those dudes are god damn so good at what they do. Sickens me lol

3b- I do not agree with you here. Teams really aren't evenly matched.  There are are big differences in the games best players and the games majority. Pitching isn't the only skill position and there is absolutely no easy position to play in baseball.  Baseball is fucking hard. VERY hard.  Catcher, 1st base, short stop and center field are the other very difficult positions to be really good at.  They each take a very different type of skill.

4- I hear ya. It's just too much shit like this and that's why I've always been so much more in to betting the NFL.  I am still going to make some small bets on this series but nothing crazy.

Damn Dodgers..not a happy start for me.

“Like, I said I guarantee … I’ll say it again: It will be the worst move the Lakers ever did in they life and they’ll never win another championship. Guarantee it. They’re going to regret it; I’m going to have fun with it. I told y’all it was crashing down. Now, it completely crashed, but at least my son is off the boat before the thing exploded.

Smiley  Lol this sure aged like some fine wine didn't it. There has never been a more annoying "personality" in the game of basketball throughout the history of mankind, so just hearing this on my local sports radio station made my day.

Old but very cool thread!

I loved seeing the comments by Gavin Andresen that you dug up from 2010.

It's going to be interesting to see where the next generation of collectibles take us... Smart contracts on a coin? Who knows...

Gavin’s comments and that thread is a great read.  Gavin was seemingly a good dude who had plenty of good ideas, however his fallout with BTC was unfortunate.

ColdKey actually did create a SC collectible

Smart contracts are highly limited right now which most don’t seem to understand ( smart contract finance is a scam, for example,) but when/if they advance I think there could definitely be some cool stuff made. Though I do love what coldkey did.

Not cool leading us to believe CH/TOAA/and his 50 other alts were gone for good..even if for a split second ! Smiley

Cobra handing over btalk domain was a biggie this year.

Lastly we lost the biggest troller of trolls in the one and only Tman..not to mention his Shakespearean word smithing..I miss the days where posts were coming in hot and heavy to Loyce's Tman's quotes thread.

Yes of course the previously banned financially motivated self serving  plagiarist is sad that shit posting proven scammer and self confessed trust abusing troll tman is not posting regularly.

Cryptohunter aka the true legend is of course enjoying the high life he deserves for ensuring bitcoin was never knocked from top spot on cmc, forcing a 2 billion dollar air drop compensation offer to the entire forum fighting the largest scams and making multiple millionaires from his selfless tips and the only member to constantly tackle any and all DT1 scammers and scammer supporters. That and always pushing for the fairest and most transparent standards to be upheld in every project he was part of and the entire forum. However there are his friends and admirers that will continue his great work here I expect.

Only 50 alts?

Even mentioning someone like CH and that peasant dreg scammer tman in the same post should be a banning offense.

Had NO clue you’d say this!  It must hurt that the evil financially motivated plagiarist ( which for the 50th time you can see in my topics I used those funds for charity) is welcomed in this community and can guarantee every mod, Theymos, or anyone with half a brain would love to see you gone.

Oh btw people can see you taking to yourself ( again)  ..just a heads up, i.e. seek medical attention.  You won’t, you’ll just keep writhing novels from a hoard of Alts.  How many more times do you think we will have this same convo btw? I think we may be around 10 or so right now, roughly right?  You’re the best CH!, love ya bud!

Bobby I’m a pretty big fan of these wallets overall. However the fact that you can’t customize the sweeping fee is a glaring issue. Swept a Satori the other day and lost 20% of my coin value doing so. Any plans to change this anytime soon?

Also would still LOVE to see Ballet chips someday!

I sold one of these here. It's actually a great place to sell it. Sure a shit much better than ScamBay.  But OP you are coming off as shady about all this. If you're not meaning to be, I'd look around at other sale threads and see how they are properly set up.  No one is asking for your GPS coordinates, just what country.  It's a HUGE factor. The price is also unrealistic, but anyone can ask whatever they want for whatever they want to try and sell.

The Real Situation

We are screwed !

1.How the hell is going to pay for all the covid madness ?
2.2020 was expected to be a bad year (recession without covid) now it' s just 2020 ...
3.Look at videos on youtube of New York ,and you will see how empty it is ...
4.Drought and Floods destroyed crops ( Climate change )
5.Trade war + Brexit
6.Govs are printing money
7.Crazy stock markets ...when in the history of the world did oil ever have negative values ? Only now in 2020
8.Technology is destroying jobs instead of helping
9.No matter how wins elections in USA ...America f..ked up by outsourcing their factories to China ,USA is no longer the Roman Empire ...
10.Prices are doubling worldwide ...in most countries ( inflation )
11.High Tensions in NATO ( Turkey the trojan horse of NATO )
12.Greece , Italy , Spain , UK economy collapse and migrants problem
13.Planet Overpopulation ... 8 billion people
14.To many taxes ...they tell you got to pay like 30% -50% max but in reality you pay like 80% ( Small countries and tax haven countries not included )
15.People say ...yeah no problem businesses can go online ... no big deal ...but how in the world is going to pay for the transportation cost and logistical stuff needed to send the goods ...e-commerce is expensive and it will increase prices even more ...
16.2020 -2021 is election year in most countries ...Govs will spend like crazy just so their parties can win.
17.They did not invent a vaccine between 1900-2020 for coronaviruses ...they knew coronaviruses existed etc ,do you really think that in 1 year they can do what others couldn't do in 100 years ? How about the mutations and so on ... It's going to take a long time before they find the cure ...
18.The world is changing and not in a good way ... i was born in '86 , i seen the 90's,the 00's ,and i remember how it was back then ...sure we got nicer toys this days ,but millennial's will never understand the thing we lost.

And the most important thing,we forgot about God ...just look at the universe . use Aladin Sky Atlas ,Google Sky etc ...look at the symmetry and beauty of the universe ,and you will see Him in all his might you morons.

All our problems come from the fact humans want to be God.

1- Whos going to pay for covid madness? I guess you mean the guy who ate the bat soup ( Kidding)
2- Says who? Here in the US most financial analysts predicted a solid market year. I'd know, it's my career.
3- look at many big citiies- same as here in chicago.
4- now this is a very serious issue, I hear ya
5- this is typical stuff through out the history of civilization
6-Quantitative Easing has been going on for some time
7-Negatives Futures Contracts , not actual oil. You been to any pumps that gave it to you for free? lol
8-false
9-you have no clue what you're talking about here, none. due some research maybe?
10-dumbest thing ive heard in a long time
13-very real issue that people ignorantly ignore
14-communist nations, who pays that much in tax?
15-believe it or not not all businesses are the same, they also hire people to move their items, called the mail. ecommerce is NOT expensive, its the opposite of brick and mortar which is dying. lordy bud
17- you're not a Dr and also once again, speaking out your behind

Lastly, what does "god" have to do with anything? What god? who's god? Have you ever met god? Do you know anyone who has? Is their any proof of god?

You raise a lot of interesting and important topics but you clearly don't do any research and go off your gut instinct
