4621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19 and its effect in Gambling World on: March 08, 2020, 05:48:00 AM
From my personal experience from gambling on land-based casinos, I have noticed a lot of Chinese people gambling. This was way before Covid-19 was a thing and I do think they are serving the majority of gamblers here in my country. When this outbreak has started, maybe they have become wary of the possible things that could happen like contracting the virus unexpectedly because there are a lot of people there. This event may have a benefit for the online cryptocurrency casinos because they can continue their gambling online, which would not let them be exposed to other people, don't you think so too?

So there are two considerations, either Land-based Casinos lose their customers and online casinos gain them or vice-versa.

@crwth I have traveled to Macau before the hub of chinese casinos and whichever day I went it was crowded only, but when this virus started to spread people stopped visiting these casinos, however there’s no evidence to prove whether those people shifted to online casinos.

Also it’s pertinent to note that most of these people who visit land based casinos are tourists and they have already started visiting the casinos and now are required to wear mask as a safety precaution, further it’s also a good time for online casinos to market themselves as a casino where people can play without getting infected.

4622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 07, 2020, 05:55:35 PM
No one here discussed about the race to the golden boot of Champions League this season.

This season is the first time after many years we see both C. Ronaldo and L. Messi fall into the bottom of the race. The two leaders are Lewandowski and Haaland. I think maybe one of them (or both) will win the golden boot this season because the rest competitors have problems with their club's situations (after the first leg). Their clubs will hardly to win and go forwards.

Messi and Ronaldo are big players but I don't see how they can come back to the race for the rest matches.

@tranthidung you’re right that this season Messi and Ronaldo haven’t performed well, but it’s too early to rule them out of the race to win the golden boot, and between Lewandowski and Halland I would pick the latter as he’s simply brilliant and a beast in front of the goal.

Is still not confirmed if and if yes where Juventus will play with Lyon.

In France they started to postponed game too, the world will probably need a stop for 30-60 days.

Whereas in this second leg match at home to Juventus they expect this match to win in front of their own fans, will there be any more delays?

It looks like the Champions League has also begun to be threatened with delays again and we are just waiting for UEFA's decision in the next few days.

@coinlocket$ @$crypto$ though there’s no official word yet from UEFA, in my personal opinion this match will go ahead and will be played behind closed doors as all matches in Italy are supposed to be placed behind closed doors till April 3rd.

FJ, I got another idea where you guys could do a promotional game around with:  The football summer transfer window.

It'd be fuuun anticipating what clubs the big names like Pogba would go next.  Smiley

@tokeweed that’s a great idea as literally all the top clubs in the world are trying to purchase him, and so far none of them have reached an agreement with him. Also FJ could add another few additions like will De Gea finally move to Real Madrid or will Zidane be sacked and replaced by Poch? or even take bets on Harry Kane’s transfer.

4624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the right time to invest in Stellar (XLM) in short term? on: March 07, 2020, 10:18:25 AM
As we all know Stellar (XLM) is a crypto coin, Which ranks in the top 15 positions in our crypto market. But from the past four to six months, it not doing a great job and the price regularly dumps. For a long time investment, almost every cryptocurrency gives a decent amount of profits. But in short time investment, Should Stellar (XLM) perform a good job, As the crypto market is in profitable conduction. Is this the right time to invest in Stellar (XLM) in the short term?
I cannot say that stellar is a good currency to invest for a short term because if you will check it's graph closely there are no big intervals to it's price but if you have huge amount for investment then a single cents of increase is already a good profit. Stellar is currently sitting at 0.06$ which currently rank at number 13 base on coinmarketcap and it is not a bad ranking.

For me, instead of short term investment stellar is a good investment for a long term one because it is safe investment as it is ranking good in coinmarketcap while the demand will not fade easily.

@NIKUBHI there’s no doubt in my mind that Stellar has a good ranking in the crypto market but I would advice you to only buy it if you can hodl it for the long term otherwise don’t buy it. The reason why I’m stressing on long term holding is because crypto’s often give good returns when you hold them for the long term, but if you decide to opt for short term trading then let me warn you that there’s a possibility of you incurring a loss if stellar prices suddenly crashes.
4625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 07, 2020, 04:59:16 AM
It was good to see the WI win a series away from home, they have always been a good T20 team but their form in recent times hasn't been that great so for them to win the series away from home will give them some confidence heading into the T20 world cup later this year.

WI is by far a better team than the Srilankans. I was not surprised to see how easily they won the T20 series. It was a complete whitewash. Srilanka's batting has been an issue not many good players left in the team.

@vella85 WI team has lots of potential but they have failed to capitalise it so far, however if they continue playing like the way they played against Sri Lanka then I would definitely put them in my contenders list to win the upcoming T20 World Cup. @pakhitheboss I’ll agree that WI team had better players but many of them do not perform consistently, and meanwhile Sri Lanka’s team is in a transition mode and they’ll at least few years before they can challenge top teams again.

Juventus Turin - Inter Milano

who will win?

Who did you bet on?

When these two teams played last year, juventus won the game. will Inter win this game this time? if Inter lose this game the situation will be very complicated for them:

I bet juventus will win this game
Inter Milan has 2 more matches that were postponed due to Covid-19 but it is a disadvantage for them. Because they will face lot of pressure when playing those matches later with a big gaps of points on the table compare to Lazio or Juventus.

Lazio temporarily takes the lead among these three candidates for the trophy but I would say Juventus has a biggest chance to win this year. Not only because they have dominated the league nearly a last decade but also because they have 1 more match and only 2 points behind Lazio.

@Slow death I’m hoping that Inter Milan wins this match, as I’m tired of seeing Juventus win the title season after season. Also Juventus is not guaranteed to win this season because their own fans are criticising Sarri, and Inter Milan has a very strong squad that can go on to win the league provided they win all their remaining matches.

https://www.espn.in/football/italian-serie-a/story/4061955/juventus-fans-are-furious-with-sarri-for-poor-champions-leagueserie-a-form-can-he-win-them-back
4627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 06, 2020, 05:48:51 PM
On the other hand, Dortmund will play against Monchengladbach where Monchengladbach and Dortmund both teams are strong. So it is not easy for Dortmund to beat Monchengladbach. So, it is challinging for Dourtmond to surpass Bayren.

Monchengladbach vs Dortmund will be an exciting match where both are equally strong in the match but it's just that Monchengladbach is under Dortmund by 2 points if this match is won by Monchengladbach then their chance to chase Leipzig to get closer but I think Dortmund will be more strong.

Points in the Bundesliga are not too far away while there are only 10 matches left so 1-4 can be the first position to fight over each other.

Bayern is now in the first place. To reach near Bayern's position, Dortmund has to gain another 4 points. I can see, if Dortmund will win next two matches and if Bayern will make draw next two matches, even then it is not possible for Dortmund to catch Bayern.

@Swordsoffreedom in my personal opinion Dortmund will win this match because of Sancho and Halland as these two are in top form, and Monchengladbach defenders will have a tough time stopping them. Also Bayern Munich normally tends to get better at the end of the season so I highly doubt that they’ll drop points, but if they end up dropping points then it’ll open the title race and make this league very interesting to watch.
4628  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin hit 15K in 2020? on: March 06, 2020, 01:51:47 PM
Personally, I think that in 2020 Bitcon may really grow to $15k, but it will happen somewhere in the fall or somewhere at the end of the year, it's not going to happen now.

@thirdlight I feel that bitcoin prices may rally up to $12k very soon due to the upcoming halving event, and secondly due to the fact that Indians can now buy bitcoins and use it as a legal tender. Furthermore I also believe that bitcoin prices can cross $20k levels this year, as we’re seeing lots of positive news in it’s favour. Also it’s pertinent to note that public sentiment seems to be high in the crypto market after a long time, and this too could be another factor in the upcoming bull rally what do you’ll think of this factor?.

4629  Economy / Economics / The Indian Bank System is Faulty, and Bitcoins will be it’s replacement. on: March 06, 2020, 09:54:05 AM
I often invest in Indian companies using my friends accounts as I don’t live there, and I was advised to invest in the banking sector by them but luckily I didn’t because I wasn’t confident about the bank’s operating there. Further it was a gut call not to invest in Indian banks and so far I have been proved right as a big bank called PNB defaulted their customers, and now RBI which oversees all the Indian banks has imposed a withdrawal limit on Yes Bank by claiming there’s financial irregularities.

Due to these incidents I believe that people will soon give up on banks, and move to bitcoins since it’s suddenly become legal to own it in India. Also I know that we often say both supplement each other but in my personal opinion Bitcoins is safer and better to use as you'll no longer need to worry about your bank closing down or putting surprise withdrawals in place.

If you live in India what do you’ll think will majority of people shift to bitcoins, and avoid keeping money with banks or will they keep trusting banks as usual?.

4630  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you know when to sell on: March 06, 2020, 05:28:22 AM
I am a college student looking to make a buck every once in a while trading crypto (mainly BTC). My portfolio is $500 of my savings so nothing big really. This is like a pilot project where I get to learn what is what and see if I can trade. I am considering going full time during summers and hopefully after finishing college if summers will have spared me. The question I am constantly facing is, how do you know when you should (or have to) sell? When the price is rising, I don't want to sell because... greed ––tbh. But again when the price is dropping, I don't wanna sell either... sometimes the price might be lower than when I bought. In general, I am bullish that the price will eventually rise and I will make a killing, so no need to hurry. But again, I don't want to be a hodler; I want to be a trader. How do you guys know when to sell?
It's always been buying low and selling high formula nothing has changed on this formula and it's been effective ever since, just buy low and when you think you made at least 10 to 20% profit you can sell right away, the danger is being too greedy to wait for the price to go higher only to find out that it will not and you lose your chance to sell high because the market is slipping.

@aioc you would make more money in the stock market with short term strategies, but if you persist with your desire to sell crypto’s in the short term I feel you’ll burn your cash and you’ll not be able to recover it. Furthermore I don’t sell in the short term but if I ever did, it would depend a lot on the upcoming events and their impact on the crypto market.

It's usually pretty obvious.  Go into a Crypto chat room.  Every 4 years you'll see people talking about buying helicopters and castles.  On the news they'll be showing you how to buy into crypto, sitcoms will be making episodes about it, you'll see that get rich quick friend on your facebook feed talking about how he's going to be a billionaire...

Just remember that short term trading is no different from gambling, and don't pretend it is anything else.  Also keep in mind the old wall street saying, "bulls make money, bears make money, pigs get slaughtered."

@OgNasty thankfully he’s on Bitcointalk where members like you present a real picture of crypto trading, and now he has to choose which one is he Bull, Bear or Pig lol.

This replaces the old thread which was locked... and seemingly not going to get opened again for some reason.

EDIT: If anyone knows if the mods open those locked threads, do let us know. Feels silly to lose a 200-page thread because someone reported a thread for a rule that wasn't enforced... lol

What rule did you supposedly break?

We forgot to remove a rule that stated users should make a post weekly on the BitDice thread. However our campaign participants have remained largely the same and everyone has been aware that the rule isn't active.

@BoXXoB it’s hard to believe that the old thread is not coming back as we had so many good memories stored in there, and as far as that rule is concerned it was never really enforced on us (signature participants). I’m glad this Ann is back because this Ann is more like a second home for us (BoXXoB, slaman29, milewilda, jossiel and others), and I can’t wait to discuss about HDF and others with you guys.
4632  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 12K USD is the next target? on: March 05, 2020, 05:05:03 PM
I'm not sure. Some predictions are very ambitious and to.my opinion 12000$ at the moment is one of such. Bitcoin is quite struggling to reach 10000$ so if that limit is broken 12000$ might be the next phase.
However, I don't expect such strong price jump in the upcoming period and some further corrections are possible too so it will take time.

@bitbunnny people always like to be extra optimistic when it comes to bitcoin prices, hence I feel that we should do our own research before buying or selling bitcoins.

Yes it can, right now BTC price has gone down and it has to recover slowly before the halving. Despite after the downfall the short term looks still bearish for BTC, it's really hard to predict the price hopefully the next few days might likely to decide  the upcoming move of BTC price. I am very confident that it will reach atleast 13k by the end of the year.

Although bitcoin prices have been struggling for a while I feel that we shall soon witness because a bull rally because of India’s decisions to revoke bitcoin ban, and @mahilchii in my personal opinion bitcoin prices can touch $15k - $20k if the halving event is successful.

Next in the calendar is the 2020 BNP Paribas Open, March 12 – 22, another Masters 1000 tournament.

Thiem is the defending champion, defeating Federer last year. So in the absence of Roger, he is rank 3, behind Djokovic and Nadal. Most of the top rank players entered this tournament so it will be interesting who will win tournament. I haven't check the odds though, but it looks like Djokovic, with the strength of his recent performance will be the favorite.

For sure, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and the defending champion will be the favourite for this year.

And then Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev. Hard to predict this early though, we might need to see their 1st and 2nd round performances before making any bets.
I think Thiem is more dangerous for Nadal than Djokovic at the moment , no offence to Djoker . I still would like to see Nadal take the trophy home .
Also you have mentioned March 12th as the starting date of the tournament but I think its March 9 .

@absy Thiem has lots of potential in him but he needs to perform consistently, and with Djokovic and Nadal also participating in this tournament it’ll be very difficult for him to win it without producing a tough fight which we all know he’s capable of producing. While I like Nadal a lot I don’t feel he’ll win it easily as his injuries have taken a toll on his body, but nevertheless i would like to see Nadal vs Thiem in the finals as both will not give up till the very end and it’ll make the match very interesting to watch.

Why do I have a funny feeling that Timo Werner's transfer to Liverpool will be hijacked by another EPL club...  Prolly Daniel Levy and Mou.  Grin

Timo Werner to Tottenham?!
I don't think that Werner is going to agree to a such move. He is on his top form and his is going to try and get a transfer to a top class club - he has the ability to do so and he is going to chase it absolutely.

Transfer does not work that, To get a transfer done away from your present club, you need to attract interest first.
Before you can choose your choice of clubs, then it means you gotta attract several clubs and select the best club for your career and if a fee cannot be agreed, you get to start all over again in decision making.

And i do not see any reason why Werner will choose to warm Liverpool Bench

You think that if Werner is for sale, he is not going to attract interest from more than one club?
Apart from that, if he joins Liverpool he is going to be on the first team. I don't think that spending so much money for a player is going to happen just to have him on the bench. The competition for his position is going to be fierce.

Timo Werner is going to Liverpool only as he’s openly flirting with them, and Kloop has also acknowledged his flirting but refused to confirm if Liverpool would purchase him or no. Further why would anyone keep Timo on the bench, as he’s a world class player and premier defenders will not be happy playing against him.

4635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FA Cup and EFL Cup Prediction Thread on: March 05, 2020, 04:50:48 AM
And here is the quarter final draw for the fa cup: Manchester City will play Newcastle, Chelsea face Leicester City, Arsenal battle it out with Sheffield United and Manchester United or derby county will lock horns with Norwich fc, depending on who wins in their game today.

The next round after this, that's the semi final looks to be promising if City, Manchester United(if they defeat derby county), Arsenal and Chelsea all make it past their respective quarter final opponents, I'm sure the FA would be praying for that, as it would definitely be an "all big team encounter" in the final.

@Coyster I’m looking forward to the reunion between Rooney and Manchester United, and I hope that he doesn’t score against his ex club (Manchester United) tonight. Furthermore if all the big teams win then it’ll make the next round very interesting to watch, and I believe the following teams will win: Manchester City, Manchester United, Leicester City, Arsenal.

Mini Mike Bloomberg announced he is dropping out and will endorse Biden.

This basically sets up a two man race between Sanders and Biden.

It now looks unlikely there will be a contested convention as the candidates that dropped out have only about 130 delegates out of 3979 (3.2%). Warren likely cost Sanders from winning the majority of delegates last night and she has no realistic path to victory going into last night.

Meanwhile, trump is doing his best to sow discord within the democratic voters, trying to make Sanders supporters believe that the DNC is trying to prevent him from getting the nomination, which is probably true, and by pointing out that Warren cost Sanders MA.

@PrimeNumber7 I’m not surprised to see Bloomberg quitting the race as he’s already burned lots of his personal cash for these elections without getting any meaningful results, also it’s pertinent to note that he’s declared his support for Biden so let’s see if it’ll help Biden or not. Further I remember @squatz had already predicted that this might happen, and I too believe that Dems won’t allow Bernie to win and due to this I expect his supporters to vote for Trump.

I still think that the DNC is going to fight tooth and nail to steal this one from Bernie. I have a few theories on how this is going to be done. Obviously all of this is given that Bernie doesn't have a majority of the delegates (1996 delegates, something around that) at the time of the convention:

1. The Moderates Band Together - Not sure who would be the to lead this coalition. But this is pretty much the line of thinking that Pete, Klobuchar, Bloomberg, and Biden all work together in someway to win the nomination. If they all pooled their polling numbers together, they'd be a true formidable foe to Bernie. They could even keep running at the moment and try to pick up as many delegates as they can, using their delegates on one another.

2. The Re-Rise of Biden - Biden had a strong second place finish in Nevada, exactly what his campaign needed. If he has a real strong finish in South Carolina, like his campaign has been relying HEAVILY on, then he could be back in the race. He'd still need some of the other moderates to drop out to REALLY have a shot, but even without this he could show himself to be the only one who could go against Bernie. Horrible candidate in my eyes, but possible.

4637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think, India lifting the ban on cryptocurrencies will impact BTC Price? on: March 04, 2020, 07:44:01 AM
Well I'm close to the region so I think it's really big news. And it has been big for a long time to be honest. I'm very happy for the decision, and maybe we can see some of the older indian exchanges coming back to the country after leaving. RBI will be very pissed about this for sure, wonder what's their response gonna be.

I remember that you're from India and I'm glad to know that your country has finally done justice to crypto lovers, also I'm confident that a massive upwards movement in Bitcoin prices is coming. As for the response from RBI it's simple that they'll either challenge this order, or your government will pass a rule and nullify this order. Another alternative for the RBI is to make Bitcoins legal, and ask Indian government to tax it but I highly doubt that they will choose this alternative.
4638  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK REQUIRES ID PROOF - BE AWARE BEFORE YOU WIN BIG! on: March 04, 2020, 03:39:50 AM
All this can be done exclusively within the law.
For example, sue casinos/exchanges/banks that have different requirements for depositing and withdrawing money. I don’t understand why this is not officially considered fraud. Perhaps some courts will side with the applicants. And in any case, such activity will positively affect the situation. To avoid lawsuits and accusations, firms will begin to correct this themselves.

When it is officially not a fraud, applicants 'like us' will surely lose to casinos as they have enough power and money to purchase the 'decision' in their favor and this is also a fear due to which many players leave the casino empty handed and don't go for a lawsuit. There requires to be proper guidelines to the players to check with them and ask their support and keep their chat as a proof if they accept that they are not going to ask you for any KYC checks, but you also need to agree when it comes to AML checks where KYC will become a highly needed step.

@2double0 if you need to challenge such rules then you’ll need an experienced legal team in place, who’ll study these rules and find precedents that have ruled in victims favour, but do note that these legal teams will cost you a lot so hire them only if you feel that have a strong case. As far as KYC is concerned it’s kinda controversial as the user has every right to feel aggrieved that he’s being forced to reveal his real identity, but at the same time it’s a safeguard measure by the casino to avoid being scammed by users who have a history of breaking their site rules.

@Betwrong you have spoken like an experienced gambler, and I hope those who read your post will follow this golden rule. Also a belated Happy Birthday to Windice, and I wish team Windice good luck for the entire year ahead.

I see these contests as something gamblers would already play anyway and that is why they do not care about the house edge parts. That or maybe they continue as long as the profit is there, so maybe rodolman gambled 30+ all because he gambled and was in profit and wanted to keep going as high as he can to win it while staying in profit as well, maybe he would have stopped if he was in minus but with the reward and all dude was making profit so decided not to stop.

Either of those options must be the reason because no other sane person would both lose money all that much, care about it deeply and still continue to wager that much. So, either rich person or a lucky gambler.

@darewaller many of these gamblers only care to top the table and for them this is surplus money which they can afford to loose, also I believe that’s the case out here but then again I could be wrong too maybe he’s a whale (high possibility) so let’s wait for different analysis of this gambler.

I've done lots of mistakes in crypto space that's why I'm able to choose right today, at least better than before, it can be a waste of time warning newbies always, only those that won't learn from their mistakes will always remain on same spot they are

i think that makes sense but not all of people will ignore the awareness that has already created by another member. The newbies need to learn about how to identify the market. It's not a short term task and they must adapt with the situation that can happen anytime. Just always try to tell them all and if they don't wanna hear us and let them get their own experience with this market.

@JeotQ I feel that you’re committing a mistaken by not warning those newbies, as they could avoid investing in scam projects because of your warning. @X - ray you’re absolutely correct as many newbies actually ask out here for help, and many even end up saving their funds because of the awareness created out here.
