why is there no [ANN] thread? where are we supposed to be talking about darkWallet? also how badly is this going to crap up the blockchain? If everyone is mixing in the same pool than it shouldn't be so bad right?

no need to twist yourself in knots, we've already done it Cheesy

eMunie is 100% anonymous, impossible to trace transactions, only the sender and receiver ever know it happened......we've done the same with the system email, chat, IM, vault storage and everything else to come, all "hard" as you put it Smiley

The [ANN] thread is so sparse on details. How is it determined which node gets to write the new block?

what aspect of it makes transactions anonymous? your transactions still have multiple inputs and outputs right? that could be used by researchers to build models of user activity.

You can disregard a lot of whats in the ANN thread, when that was posted the anonymous transaction model was not developed or even thought of.

Blocks are not generated in the same way that BitCoin and other alt's create them, there are no "miners" competing to create a block and the verification of transactions works completely different.

The transaction data is encrypted with the public keys of both the sender and receiver, only they can decrypt this information with the corresponding private key.  The sender creates a secret pair S1,S2 for the transaction.

S1 is placed in the transaction output which is recorded in the database for all nodes to see, S2 is passed to the receiver along with other data in the receivers encrypted portion of the transaction.  When the receiver wants to spend, it creates a transaction input referencing the transaction output containing S1 and provides the S2 to prove that he is allowed to spend that transaction.  When the block is created the provided S2 in the input is SHA256+RIPEMD and should match S1 of the reference output, if it matches, the transaction is processed.

By using secrets, and passing them between the sender and receiver in this encrypted manner, the addresses of the 2 parties making the transactions is never required or known outside of those 2 parties performing the transaction, thus, the system is anonymous and secure.

We are currently writing the whitepaper and a lot of other documentation now that we are close to a V1 (read 4-6 weeks) and all the technical aspects are functional and beta-tested.

Can you tell me more about S1 and S2 please. What are they specifically? If its an asymmetric key pair than which is public and which is private?

hey thanks for taking a look. I've been thinking about it more and the one flaw I've found is in the process of making change. The exchanges could log information and sell it to the government or who ever.

4646  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does Anyone Else Believe In Jesus Christ ? on: October 30, 2013, 08:37:06 PM
I only believe in things that have good evidence and/or logcally consistent arguments to back them up, i have not yet encountered such evidence and/or logically consistent arguments for any religion. I am however uncompromisingly open minded so if you felt so inclined as to share with me the evidence and/or arguments that convinced you, and if the evidence evidence is good and/or the arguments are sound than i'll certainly climb on board.

Well, then you may want to read The Case for Christ.  It was written by a journalist attempting to disprove that Jesus was who he said he was using the types of methods he used to find truth from eyewitnesses and reports about news stories:

http://www.amazon.com/Case-Christ-Journalists-Investigation-ebook/dp/B000FC2KEM/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1383148637&sr=8-5&keywords=evidence+demands+a+verdict

i dont need to read a book, just tell me what the evidence is and link the original sources.
4647  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What should be the Goal(s) of Government? on: October 30, 2013, 06:22:25 PM
The question doesn't really make any sense. Government isnt a person and only people have goals. So if we are going to talk about what goals government has or ought to have, we can only be talking about what goals the people who run government have or ought to have. Government is comprised of millions of people with hundreds or thousands of goals each. So government has, and will continue to have, like literally a billion different entirely distinct goals at any given time.

I have a feeling the counterstrike heads of today don't have the muscle to pick up an AK-47, let alone run around with it.

lol generals dont pick up ak 47s and run with them

so i have another question. if its imposable for entangled particles to transfer information, how could you ever design a test that would show whether two particles were entangled or not. wouldn't that test require that they transfer some sort of information between each other?
You can't tell whether two particles were entangled without knowing the state of both of them. And you can't know the state of a distant particle without measuring it and transmitting the results of that measurement across that distance, which can't be done faster than the speed of light.

k that also makes sense
4650  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does Anyone Else Believe In Jesus Christ ? on: October 30, 2013, 06:16:04 AM
Also, I should mention, that you are right that some people are deceived and think that they are following God but in reality they are not.  That is why the Bible is pretty clear about the fact that people will say "There is the Christ" but to be careful not to just follow anyone.  And the Bible warns of the Anti-Christ that will come and do miracles and even deceive the "elect if that were possible."

How do we know what is right and wrong?  We are supposed to "test the Spirits."  If we know that the character of God is good and the fruit of the Spirit is Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness and self-control we can use that as the measure in which to gauge where someone's heart really is and if something is from God or not.  You will know a "tree by it's fruit" the Bible says.

if this is supposed to be a response to me than i dont think you understood what i was saying. it was an argument for how it is imposable for the existence of good to be proven because even if some apparently supernatural creature floats down from the sky and performs seemingly imposable miracles, you still have no way of knowing whether its actually god and not an alien, or a hallucination, or a life form from another dimension ect...

even if there was a god, you could literally never know that for sure, and nothing god could ever do could allow you to know that for sure.

Most Christians are very confident that they "Know" without a doubt God is real and they believe in Jesus so much so that they are even willing to risk their lives to be a Christian in places that do not allow for people to.  The reason is because the Spirit of God reveals Himself to us in a way that we cannot deny Him in our hearts.  The song Amazing Grace says, "I once was blind but now I see."  There is truth in that.  It is a spiritual thing that cannot be explained or logically understood.  It has to be experienced.  The only way for it to be experienced is for the person to go to God him/herself and pray and ask God to reveal himself.  Until then it cannot happen.

Do you make any other sorts of decisions in your life that way? Do you ever close your eyes at a stop light and use your heart to "feel" what color the light is? If you ever use your heart to "feel" whether or not food is expired instead of looking at the expiration label? If this is such a reliable method for separating what is true from what is false than why dont you use your heart to "feel" what stocks you should buy and become rich on the stock market? My guess is that you only use this tactic in situations where the negative consequences for being wrong are not immediate and not severe, but if it is such a reliable tactic than you should also apply it to situations where consequences are immediate and are severe as well. if you are not willing to use this tactic in situations where consequences are immediate and severe than perhaps you should consider admitting that it is in fact not a reliable way of separating fact from fiction.

Yes.  I believe!  You can call me a "Jesus Freak!"   Grin

I think we might be a little outnumbered her OP.  Of course the Bible says "narrow is the road and few will find it" so I guess it is to be expected.  Kind of like the rest of the world does not really get "bitcoin" many people don't "get Jesus" but they have not really searched.  Or they think that they have it all figured out.

For those that are so sure that Jesus is a made up and a myth I will begin praying now for Jesus to show Himself to you.  I could argue and debate but it generally does not work that well anyways.

or they have just never been provided with convincing evidence  Roll Eyes

And you just made my prayer list!  Grin  I will pray that God will give you all the evidence you ever needed!

That would be super sweet if he actually listened to you and actually came down to pay me a visit. I would freaking love to have god over for dinner sometime.

Well I prayed that God would reveal Himself to you and give you undeniable evidence of His existence and His love for you so just wait and see what happens.

actually its technically imposable to have undeniable evidence of something supernatural like that. so let me give an example.

say some glowing guy walked through my door and said "im god" and i said "oh yea well prove it" and so he performed some incredible magic tricks that no magician could do. so like for example he brought the chair in my kitchen to life, and it had eyes and a mouth and jumped around like something out of a cartoon, And then he granted me the power of flight, and i flew all over the room. Even if that happened, i would have no means by which to differentiate between a really advanced alien life form and a super natural being. So even with all of that crazy evidence i would have no way of knowing whether it was actually god,

be safe. make sure you only get assets with no counter-party risk and diversify. maybe 33% in bitcoin, 33% in gold, and 33% in silver. for example.

4656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Lets hammer out the details of how to make a true hard crypto on: October 30, 2013, 04:23:06 AM
For those who dont know, a hard cryptocurrency is anonymous by design.

I've been twisting my brain in knots these last few days trying to figure out how it could be done. I know there are ways to do it with built in mixing but that's terribly inefficient, i really want to avoid that, i was hoping to think of something novel. I do kind of have an idea, but i dont know how good it is.

I kind of have this vague idea that what you need to do is make it so that addresses are not reusable and transactions can only have one input. If I'm thinking through the logic correctly this would make the currency anonymous. Of course it would have its drawbacks but then if you could build the rest of the system purposefully around that core idea, than perhaps you could sufficiently mitigate those drawbacks.

So thats where i was hoping to get some feedback, if we assume that the system must not allow addresses to be reused, and transactions can only have one input. How do we build an efficient protocol around those limitations?

Here is one idea i had. Perhaps, as well as only being allowed to have one input, transactions would also only be allowed to have one output. Addresses could be required to contain specific denominations. So 1 or .1 or .01 or .001 ect..  So think of it like bills of currency. The miner who minted a new block could determine how he wanted his reward denominated. Entrepreneurs would provide exchanges for breaking bills/consolidating change. this would mean that at times certain bills would carry a very small premium compared to other bills. Miners would respond to these market signals and produce more of the the bills that were in demand and less of those that wernt, thus keeping the heterogeneity of value between bills to a minimum.

anyway I'm not saying "lets start a bounty and make this thing right now", i just wanted to get this discussion started you know, and start throwing around some ideas.
4657  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining on another planet. Possible? on: October 30, 2013, 03:37:39 AM
you would just measure it and when it is in a state than it is a 0 and when it is in superposition than it is a 1.
I am not even able to comprehend the degree of confusion that could provoke such a statement. To measure something means to determine its state. A particle or system of particles is always in some state or another after you measure it, by definition. Superposition can only exist as long as no measurement is performed.

that makes sense. i was just basing my conclusions on what you said, not on my intricate understanding of quantum physics.

so i have another question. if its imposable for entangled particles to transfer information, how could you ever design a test that would show whether two particles were entangled or not. wouldn't that test require that they transfer some sort of information between each other?

Speed of light is the "fastest internet connection" you are going to get.

This always bothered me; assume a string of (non elastic) rope from earth to Mars. If someone pulls it on earth, wouldnt it be noted instantly on Mars?

quantum entanglement should allow for instantaneous communication over any distance.
It shouldn't and it doesn't.

Why shouldn't it? I guess you know everything their is to know about quantum mechanics,.... better let the rest of the world know so they can give up their research.

It shouldn't and it doesn't.
I cearainly don't know everything that is to know about quantum mechanics, but I've studied quantum mechanics and quantum field theory for more than 1.5 years now.

The problem is: you can enforce a particle that is in a superposition of 2 states to bee in one of the 2 states over great distances, but you don't get to choose which of the states it gets into.

When your communication partner measures the particles, he can't distinguish between particles that were forced into one state by his measurement, and particles that were in a pure state before. So no communication with quantum entanglement

Ok so maybe you didnt quite explain it properly, but according to the way you explained it you should still be able to communicate information. you would just measure it and when it is in a state than it is a 0 and when it is in superposition than it is a 1.
