Thanks for warning us that you are here to rip us off, and not to be a contributing member of the forum, and I have put you on ignore. No doubt others will do this as well. By chasing pennies, and attempting to devalue one of the most useful crypto forums, you are losing out of the chance to build a six figure income from the knowledge you can find here.
I am a merit source, so by being on my ignore list, you will never receive any merits from me, and I haven't even bothered to post the link to my description of the merit system, and the different types of merit that the forum uses.
As an example of the way the merit system works, I have awarded a merit to every person who has posted a criticism of your arrival here.

Not every member here is "doing bounties".
I believe that the forum will have to disable signatures for newbies and juniors, and to restrict their thread starting capabilities. They will have brought this on themselves, as they refuse to behave and obey the forum guidelines.

.org domain names are so last century. Surely as Bitcoin moves into an investment category, then the .com is more significant.

Germany inceased it's economy by avoiding any military expenditure, but relied on the US, the UK and the UN. It created the EU to strip assets from members countries like Greece and the UK, and pass many of the proceeds on to the deep state through the banking system. The Euro was created to avoid the revaluation of the German currency, and to maintain an unfair export advantage by exploiting the weaker currencies of the southern countries. Now that it is obvious that the EU is doomed, it is having some last ditch attempts to syphon money from member countries - for example, the sale of UK military airports will be at under valued prices, and I'm sure most of the proceeds will find their way into the bankrupt banking system. The EU is attempting to create it's own army, and the satellite system will obviously be a part of this. The only reason that the EU needs an army is to try to suppress the rise of populism and anti deep state sentiment in its member countries.

There are many misunderstandings about merit, and the anagrams of the word illustrate this -
Timer - some members think that merit should be based on the time spent posting, and not the quality of the posts. Remit - I've seen posts that merits are only awarded in return for payments, or the provision of services Mitre - If your profile inducates that you are a member of the religious elite of Bitcoin Talk, then the suggestion is that you will receive more merits. Me 'rit - Posting many mesages in bad or garbled English should result in the award of merit.
The real answer is that if you want to be a merit magnet, you need to have steel in your posting ( note that is not 'steal' or plagiarism ), and keep out of the midden. Posts suitable for the midden will never become merit magnets.

I think the minimum merits reward should be increased to 10merits per post that way when you merit a post or comment it will add value to the owner.
I believe thast the reverse is better. The maximum merit to be awarded by one person for a post should be reduced to 5. If the post is any good, then it will receive merits from multiple members.

Welcome to Bitcoin Talk, and I hope that we haven't given you the wrong impression about the forum. The forum is really here to promote Bitcoin, and other major crypto currencies, and to help new members to use Bitcoin in their daily lives, or as an investment for the future. Unfortunately, there is a lot of promotion of the forum on Twitbook and other social platforms so beloved by the spammers and scammers, and this has given us a major problem. The flood of economic migrants seem to think that the forum owes them a living if they spam and pollute the boards. They learn nothing, and by constantly keeping their heads down looking for pennies in the gutters, they miss the bright sun in the sky overhead. Probably the first thing to learn is the merit system here. Many new members don't bother to read about it, and keep asking the same questions. This is extremely annoying. I wrote a description of the merit system, and you can read the article here - https://talkmerit.com/the-source/index.php/articles/the-bitcoin-talk-merit-systemIt's on my blog, and you can find more information about my activities as a Bitcoin Talk merit source there. Be careful if you are considering trading Bitcoin, the price is extremely volatile, and it can move 20% or more in an hour. You should do a lot of research before risking any cash. There are some boards here with very experienced traders posting on them, but they can be a bit daunting, and many opinions seem to be wishful thinking, raather than the result of objective research.

Thanks - I probably shouldn't have mentioned the Talk merit thing, I just wondered why the comment was there, but it is obviously outside the scope of your report. I just wondered if that was the cause of the 2, but obviously it isn't.

I checked my listing, and I've got a couple of questions.
It doesn't show my sMerit total - is this because I'm a source, and Theymos isn't?
I've got a worst trust rating of 2 - is that positive or negative? I've got a comment about my admission that Talk Merit is an alt of mine in there. I'm not sure why that needed to be posted, as the association is posted allover the forum. I think it's even in my profile.

can write constructive posts for people that need large number of posts daily for bitcoin and altcoin discussion sections. will take money per post either in eth or btc. rate can be discussed. When I see posts like this, it puts me off giving you any merits. I think this is against the spirit of Bitcoin Talk, and it is part of the crrent spam problem. Also I noticed that you posted that people should never sell at a loss. without knowing the financial state of an investor, and his motivation, it is unwise to give advice like this.

What you really mean is ' Can we save the human population'. As has been mentioned, nature will compensate for any changes that occur, but that may be detrimental to the human race. So to answer the spirit of the question, we are doing the wrong things. For example, the politicians are pushing the idea of electric cars to give them increased control over motorists, but electric cars just export pollution, they don't decrease it. Innovations like the opposed piston diesel engine are far more constructive. Click here to view the videoAnother useful idea is to stop chopping down trees to feed electricity generation plants.

Hello brothers,
It seems this forum is getting more strict with new measures which does not favor most of us. Bitcointalk forum is for all of us and i think everybody must have their freedom,
If this will be implemented it will affect to all jr members. Just like me, that all i want is to help others and earn money as well.
Thank you for posting this because i feel relieved and say what i want to say.
Let us run through this post. - I'm not your brother. We haven't met or had any interaction, so I'm not even your friend. - Bitcoin Talk is becoming more strict and does not favour most new members because they are taking the piss ( to use the vernacular). - Bitcoin Talk is not for all, it is for Bitcoin and crypto enthusiasts - Freedom is for people who don't abuse society. If you breach the accepted standards, you get locked up or worse in most societies. - If you want to help others, then stop posting. Destroying established structures is not 'earning' money. - Please could you relieve yourself elsewhere.

I hope they are going to repay the money we spent helping to set up the system when we escape from their corrupt regime. I knew the EU was doomed when they brought out that flag displaying a load of stars running round in a circle. I must behave. This thread is turning into a political "discussion".

What a terrible post! Anything as bad as that should be deleted anyway - never mind what the content is. This is a discussion forum.

To mdayonliner
In essence, there isn't any difference. What I hope is the the [SMART] tag will discourage low value posting. If they are just going to have their posts deleted, then hopefully the spammers won't even bother to open the thread. You say that Theymos is not a big fan of restricting members, but he is offering badges for people who suggest the imposition of specific restrictions.
The interesting stat to watch will be the views:posts ratio. Most threads run at about 10:1, and if it is possible to identify quality threads easily, then this ratio should improve. This will mean that any signature in a [SMART] thread will have a greater value than a signature in a standard thread.

I want to create interesting discussion threads. There is such a diversity of skills, experiences and knowledge here that I would like to pull them together into some interesting threads. I want them to be readable, without them being filled with pollution and spam. It would be useful if it was possible to moderate posts as well. The first reply contains a stupid quote of the whole of the original post. You guys can't imagine how much self-control it took for me not to delete it.

Here is a quote from the link posted by Makkara The European Commission has said non-member states cannot be trusted with sensitive data that will run on the highly encrypted part of the program, used by EU governments and militaries. The EU doesn't have any governments, it is controlled by an unelected body that reports to the deep state, ie, the Bilderberg group.
|
|
|
I don't think all threads should be self-moderated. This could lead to a bias in the thread opinion mix, and this would reduce the benefit of the thread. As an example, I started a SMART thread, and I don't agree with the first reply. Obviously I won't delete the post, because it represents a (possibly) reasonable opinion, and just because it is wrong, it doesn't mean I should delete it. Some thread starters may not take the same approach.
