That's most likely "just a regex" or exposed via an API... Wink

If not, then you'd have to guess/extrapolate from past performance I guess.
4662  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Feature Request: All Application Data in Bitcoin Install Folder Windows 7 on: June 26, 2011, 12:23:20 AM
Since Vista mutable and config files should NOT reside in the program files folder! This was not desired before as well, but now it's nearly enforced.

Please learn a bit more about Windows programming standards before suggesting such stuff.

If you want to have Bitcoin portable in a Truecrypt folder, just run it with the respective commandline switch. It's your own fault that you are too stupid ignorant to read the documentation on the wiki: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Securing_your_wallet#Windows
4663  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: DeepBit Pay per Share or Proportional? on: June 25, 2011, 08:45:09 PM
On most other pools you'll get 3-10% more on average, so my vote would be for neither... Wink
4664  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Multipool - the pool mining pool on: June 25, 2011, 08:44:04 PM
How hard is it to add new pools to this setup? There are multitudes of tiny proportional pools shooting up like mushrooms, waiting to be picked!

If you could abstract the info for pools in a config file, we might even be able to fill these out for you, so you just have to enter that information...

Only problem might be, that these pools then might feel like being DDOSed, if we have a certain hashpower already within multipool (which I think we do).

4666  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Theoretically a branch of Bitcoin including IP addresses in the blocks on: June 25, 2011, 06:20:59 PM
Please stop double/triple/quadruple/multi posting!

Just build a prototype, as you suggested, and present it here. I doubt you will get much help in making a system similar to Bitcoin that can be censored/controlled by "authorities" (Why should they pay for that infrastructure in the first place? What about internationality?) here and you seem to have quite concrete ideas anyways - just go, write code, test and present your findings!
4667  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Bitcoins Handeln!? on: June 25, 2011, 06:13:45 PM

4669  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What's to stop this type of cheating when using pools? on: June 25, 2011, 05:42:06 PM
Is this possible?
No, a solution only fits one header. Each pool will have a different header, so you will need different solutions for each share.
4670  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Renting 550 mh/s short term contract on: June 25, 2011, 11:36:45 AM

Because there are a lot of people with bad math skills out there obviously.

I don't know if the O.P.'s offer qualifies, but do deals like this produce bitcoins with no permanent record of who they were paid out to?  I personally would find value in paying a service to generate bitcoins on my behalf as long as they could not know what address the bitcoins were paid to.  In this way I could get bitcoins that could not be traced to me.

Th OP would have gotten money (USD) from you, so depending on your way of payment you are traceable by the OP, no matter if these are pool payouts, generated transactions or just from the OPs private wallet (as it would be currently far cheaper to just use the money to buy some BTC and send these to you over time than to actually mine!).

Also the OP will need a BTC adress from you to send the payments.

Why don't you tale a look at other rentals, like Vladimirs?
I already did - and he is also currently better off buying BTC and sending them in small amounts to his customers than to actually mine. Like nearly any currently offered mining contract out there!

If demand is really so high, I should start offering something like this myself! Shocked

This is getting really out of hand guys... I have over 8000 shares in my portfolio because only 1600 out of 10000 have sold.

Sorry but in an ipo shares which are not sold are unissued, that means they cannot be used for voting rights etc...

I think we have just found out an issue with this market?

Phil

I think you're right.

Unissued IPO shares definitely shouldn't count in votes.
This can be solved by having 2 Accounts on GLBSE:
1 that issues shares and takes care of all the BTC coming in and going out (I'd call it "broker" account)
1 that holds shares that Tawsix (or the company owner if it's another BTC company) uses to actually buy these shares (or to at least transfer them from the "broker account") that are already paid off from his 50%.

The broker account then does not participate in voting.

What I find weird though: How would you, Tawsix, be able to buy 99 shares from the public shares _before_ buying all your "private" shares back?

Could we please have an overview over:
* # of shares to be sold to the public
* Public shares sold
* # of shares reserved for Tawsix
* Shares already paid for by Tawsix (via 50% margin and/or private money)
* Depts of Tawsix to the company (= number of shares not yet paid * 0.75 BTC)
4672  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Renting 550 mh/s short term contract on: June 25, 2011, 01:11:10 AM
If you're not interested in buying GTFO of my thread. My prices are competitive and final.
...and only useful vs. buying BTC directly, if BTC would be above 20 USD - as he calculated. Roll Eyes
I have had over 10 people interested in buying my services, and the only reason I haven't sold to all of them is because I can't keep up with demand. If my prices are "so bad," why wouldthis be generating that kind of interest? Trololololololol.
Because there are a lot of people with bad math skills out there obviously.

Also it's like buying something that's worth 200 USD for 250 USD and thinking you got a bargain, because others are charging 300 USD.

Anyways, after seeing your posts and nonconstructive/mildly aggressive behaviour I'm happy I didn't contact you with a sale offer in the first place. Have fun trolololololing. Roll Eyes

4674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin7 - Official letter, following first week of operation on: June 25, 2011, 12:58:58 AM
I personally value private conversations a lot and am far more upset about the fact that some people here seem to have used direct quotes from or even posted full PMs in public than what was written in this text.
4675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the odds to never mine a block with 500Mh/s solo? on: June 25, 2011, 12:53:32 AM
My result: 70% to never mine a single block ever.
If you take "ever" as in "in eternity", you have a probability of 100% to mine a block, hell, you're even 100% likely to mine 1000 blocks with only 1 hash per second!

Please specify a REAL timeframe like "within the next 5 years", not infinity!

Not true as there's a finite number of bitcoins.

Not true, as the 8 decimal places are just a convention but can easily be extended, so mili-Satoshis etc. are being mined and probably even generated. There will never be 21 Million BTC (or more) in not-infinite time frames, only 20999999.999.....
4676  Economy / Marketplace / Re: SkepsiDyne Integrated Node - A Bitcoin Mining Company on: June 25, 2011, 12:45:07 AM
I certainly would take advantage place if u offered it but I think, U are basically selling shares at under (ipo value) / basically ignoring the ipo conditions. And this is the same with the buyout offer.
If he prices the shares at ~BTC market value converted to USD and then converted to a fair aftermarket value for each card, this should be a quite fair deal for everybody involved (just be aware that the dishwara deal is NOT fair by any means).

My level of voting is that I get however many shares of the IPO have sold + 1 votes, which means I have the final decision in all matters.  I do listen to shareholders however, otherwise I wouldn't bother making any motions.  I appreciate the opinions and ideas of the shareholders, they often come up with good ideas and solutions to problems.
No, you need 51% of shares and votes, not 50% + 1 share. Read your own contract!

If you need to have 2 BTC, 1 BTC + 1 Satoshi isn't enough as well, right?

8. Do you really store values in floats?
Yes we did. Now we don't. By the time of our launch we kept most of the data with greater accuracy in integer format. However there were parts which used floats to preserve data. After some sleepless hours we rewrote everything which was stored as float. We can't show any extract of the DB or code as this could compromise our security. We hope, admitting our initial mistake and making up for it asap, would be enough for you to trust us on this matter.

Thanks for that one, that was my main concern (amongst some pure interface things, like displaying in my opinion too few digits after the decimal seperator).

About the thing of offering money for a recommendation:
Srsly, get over it guys! They are not native english, and were probably in a hurry too, so it might have likely come across far more offensive/direct than intended.

Finally a useful european Bitcoin Exchange! Smiley
If they are really secure and trustworthy, only time will tell - but for the beginning, I'm happy.
4679  Economy / Marketplace / Re: SkepsiDyne Integrated Node - A Bitcoin Mining Company on: June 24, 2011, 11:02:04 PM
Yeah, 1 share for every ~4 MH/s (3800/968) sounds like a great deal to me too!

I'd gladly send you a few GPUs for a few dozen/hundred shares at that price.
Actually 58xx GPUs are anyways relatively easy to come by at least in Europe, so you could really try to buy some (for a SANE price, not for these prices!) for shares in exchange.

You could put up a price list and people would send you their GPU(s) + a note with their GLBSE UserID to be assigned the shares.
Only problem is that you would need to hand out a postal address... but that should be handleable.
