It will be very difficult to make ROI and collect a large amount of coins before your miners become obselete and you have to reinvest. The halving did not help either.
I know you probably want to hear about mining, but still, the fastest way to reach your goal of not missing out would be to straight up buy the coins at an exchange and just hold them. You get the same results as by mining them (the coins), but you will have them now. You may miss out on a few if your miners manage to break even and start earning, but the risk is much lower.
If you insist on mining, best to avoid cloud mining (most ended up being scams or not profitable) and just build your own little farm. Maybe you can ask that neighbour of yours for some advise, as he obviously knows what he is doing if what you are saying is true.
Either way, mining isn't as easy as most people think, and you're likely going to have issues along the way, especially if you're planning to use solar power (which is probably not going to make your money back due to maintenance issues). Mining's moving away from home miners faster than a rocket, and it's a bit disappointing.

You've made almost no response so far; am I denied or not? Just nervous, since I see almost everybody accepted.
Included everything in the PM, I just want to know what the issue is if there is one. I'm not usually a patient person :/

New batch same specs?
Just checked - 2 new batches (12 and 13), one the 11.something one the 12.something same as the 2 SOLD OUT IN NO TIME B10 and B11 on specs but price increased about 3% respectively. Good 'ol bitmain with their marketing schemes. Miners will probably go even higher in price-terrible for all of us. I expect it'll take a damn long time for the prices to even get near reasonable, and for miners to stop selling out nearly instantly. We need some competition in the miner scene asap- hopefully the A7 does this, or we're going to see more instant sellouts of miners for a while.

Probably buy some miners as I have access to cheap electricity. It's just fun for me and if I ever had the opportunity, I'd make my operation just a smudge bigger. Cooling's not an issue for me as I live in a relatively cool place and I just need fans to push in air and fans to get it out- ac isn't necessary.
I'd also invest in various sources like altcoins and start a small loan service to make a bit of money; I'll mainly save it.

The fact that only 13 have been accepted out of a few hundred people is pretty interesting, but I guess that's just how the campaign will run. Interesting to see how many available slots have been filled. I'll just wait till most people have been added and remove my signature then, I hope I'm in.

Yes, in fact, with CS:GO before skin gambling was banned by Valve. It happened more often than people thought it did, and there are plenty of them that have won or lost lots of money. I knew kids who were only around 14 years old who had made nearly 5000 dollars from 25$ by going all in on green on a roulette twice, and ones who had lost more than a thousand. It's a serious problem and I'm glad Valve have partially solved the problem, but there are still loopholes that those sites are using such as 'tokens'.

Hi, I am looking for cheap unprofitable asic mining hardware. tks
Wrong place; I'd go to the computer hardware section of the forum and make a post there. You could pm xircom if you haven't already as well. Good luck finding gear. You could also be more specific; not all gear you consider unprofitable may be unprofitable. You'd be better off asking for more specific gear, but that's just my opinion.

To earn extra income for my family ,because if im only defending on my salary from my job i cannot support the needs of my kids that is why im here at bitcoin ,i choose bitcoin as my others source of income.
Yes it is one good source of income too. Even just a little profit from it or earning from it then it will be a great help for an addition to your budget specially when you do have a family. If you get in a good campaign, you can earn up to or even over 100 USD a month, assuming you make all recommended posts and the campaign pays and is stable. Just be sure to join a nice and stable one; the campaigns that pay insane amounts of bitcoin per post usually also require insane post quality and have tons of rules. I can definitely say it does help; I've gotten nearly 500$ from campaigns so far.

The difficulty might be lower, but 90 minutes block time will increase the length of time it takes for transactions to be confirmed. Don't you think?
When you use Bitcoin often, you know sometimes next block taking longer to be found like over half of a hour. In the end Bitcoin is not about super fast confirmed transactions, but rather very trustable ledger. 90 minutes block can create some congestion and those with lower fees might wait over two hours for their first confirmation, but it returns back to normal after few hours. Dont know what is longest time between blocks so far, but 90 minutes should not so far from the record. Yes, 90 minutes is probably onr of the longest waits since bitcoin has been released to the public. This "problem" was summarised bybthe first two replies to say that it's the block chain evening itself out (though miners would have lost some profits from it no doubt). So it is quite good that this latency is added in order to bring the block chain back on track (with the generated Bitcoins from miners). I've had to wait 100 mins last week or so. This shit happens more than you think it does, and it always seems to happen right when I'm making a purchase... xD there's been a gap of 1 or 2 days earlier in Bitcoin's history when Satoshi was still messing with it, so this isn't anything. You can look it up on google, there's plenty of info about it and it's actually pretty interesting imo.

Hi everyone, thank you very much for participating. Could please all users using the longest signature replace it with this one:

❘|❘ ICONOMI Financial services for the decentralised economy /iconomi]LINK TO ICO | /ICONOMIdl]LINK TO DISCUSSION

The last forward slash in "http://[Suspicious link removed]/iconomi/" is causing the links not to work; the link has to be "http://[Suspicious link removed]/iconomi" Assuming that you're referring to the Sr/Legendary signature, right?

GTX 670 and I7-4790. Not sure if this'll work. Also have a pair of dusty R9 270s in my basement, not even sure if those work anymore xD

I would like the Avalon 7 to be better then the s-9 in terms of power use.
Say .090 or .085 watts vs .100 watts for the s-9.
I am hoping for something in the 800W to 1000W range at ~0.09 efficiency. 800 watts and 10th would be good. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) that would be awesome with a price tag of maybe 800 to 1000 ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . but we know there price is all ways higher then bitmain or has been .can't blame them either i wouldn't want a price war with bitmain we saw what that did to Spondoolies-Tech. if you think about it bitmain controls it all right now as far as selling miners goes they set the price etc unless some one wants to price war with them if you do you better have deep packets . any way i hope the a7 follows suit and stays as they said : is for every one . high price tag or not so far from what Ive seen if i could afforded any Avalon on release i would have bought it first there's are better built etc and to me worth it . cyz I would be more willing to get them if they do better on watts then the s-9. I'd pay a premium for a 800 watt 10th machine If they were around $1000 shipped, I would buy more than one. I'd pay 1500 shipped regardless of the price, since I just mainly dislike current Bitmain products. I have near-free electricity, though, so I can afford to run some old miners. Nevertheless I would need to see the first-batch quality to actually make a decision on buying one. Btw, I have a few orange pis, and they're a PITA to start. There's almost no support from the orange pi website, but glad that Canaan made some for it. Besides that, not too bad of a board- it does run a bit warm, but otherwise fine. Probably trying to shave off a few bucks from the total cost to us consumers.

The chances of more blocks coming in normal or even faster succession is also possible, so it near evens out in the long run. Don't worry, transactions will go through. It can also mean lower difficulty like phil said, but I doubt it as Bitmain's cranking out those new S9's and any drops will just be people replacing miners and be minor. Tl;dr it happens with bitcoin and if you want to use Bitcoin, you'll deal with this. Doesn't turn many people away from the currency, but an hour or two of no payments can get frustrating.

Recovering hacked/stolen accounts is a very low priority for Theymos. There are accounts that haven't been recovered for over 6 months.
I hope you get your account back.
There's accounts that have never been recovered. Even high-level accounts take a while to be recovered, and the chances of recovering your account are there, but can take up to a year. Good luck.

Will send portfolio via PM. Pretty large ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Sent. I can do extremely large articles if needed, length is not an issue. I forgot to put this in my pm, but I'll put it here so as not to spam- I can write about crypto related things just as well as the many reviews I've done. I can provide a short draft about wallets I've been working on.

I think 13+ losing streak is not so high to get worried about it with 50 win chance, some people got more higher losing streak with 2x payout, so many times I got 20+ losing streak by playing on dice game but it happening with martingale and which is bad strategy to play on dice site.
Unfortunately, the fact is that a long win streak can and will happen, and I usually drop out at a 5 streak. Cutting losses in gambling is difficult, and it's hard to even make short-term profit, but if you do it right, you'll lose a lot less than you would've lost going on a losing train.

Bitcoin can not make banks disappear there are lot of reasons for this to not happen. The main is limited supply of Bitcoin and value of it the higher the value is the lesser people (common people) will use it. Bitcoin will exist but we will see no competition between banks and Bitcoin and they will work hand in hands in future. Banks provide a large range of services which Bitcoin can not offer due to its nature and complexity which is advantage for banks.
I believe the banks will adopt the bitcoin if doing business with bitcoin is more profitable. i will also use banks which deal with bitcoin. Profitable? Until bitcoin becomes stable enough for those banks to think that it's not going to crash on them, banks will probably not adopt bitcoin at all. Bitcoin's limited supply shouldn't be too big of a problem for quite some time, as there will nearly always be enough bitcoin to go around, and if not, the price will simply rise in response.

Just like everyone else- IF they have internet, computer access, and more of the basic necessities. Most countries in Africa don't have subpar- if not nonexistent- internet. For these reasons, and the fact that no Internet =/= Bitcoin is basically unknown. A paper wallet could be used for purchases and such, though, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as they have Internet and computer access.
