I know the guy, he is due around 5 btc.

How do you know him? He has only 1 post.
Besides, not the merits would allow him to send more PMs, but his rank. However, why do you think he would need to send PMs in order to get his funds back?
4682  Other / Meta / Re: Mobile Friendly Bitcointalk on: January 06, 2020, 10:53:24 AM
Hello , new guy here....
I was referred to this forum from another Cryptocurrency Forum called CryptoTalk.  From what I can see so far, this one is much more informative,  which I can appreciate.

It should be more informative, since this is the original forum started by Satoshi Nakamoto Smiley
Regarding the mobile friendly application, Loganota already suggested you fahbil's extension for Firefox and I can confirm you it works great! Use at your own risk, indeed. I'm using it for a few months now and it has only a few minor bugs.
4683  Economy / Services / Re: Private investigator - serbia/croatia/lithuania on: January 06, 2020, 10:20:31 AM
The biggest activity vs merits ratio I saw here was 1:4 and I saw it only at nullius and at DdmrDdmr.

IndecentProposal will certainly become a great forum member, since his activity vs merits ratio is 1:50 Smiley

Besides, gizmoh may be a private Serbian / Croatian / Lithuanian investigator, who had no job for a long time and he became so happy after reading this topic which will help him buy a bread, that he gave 50 merits for that Smiley
4684  Economy / Services / Re: Private investigator - serbia/croatia/lithuania on: January 06, 2020, 09:44:56 AM
This has to be a pretty good topic, since OP received 50 merits for it.
4685  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving, who's closest with actual Nrs TAKE A CHANCE on the LIST !!! on: January 06, 2020, 09:42:56 AM
28 500 - 28 545 $ (range)
You have to choose 50$ intervals. Yours, for example, should look like 28.501 - 28.550. Read the OP Smiley
4686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Case: The Real, Untold Story. Is Karpeles Satoshi or DPR? on: January 06, 2020, 08:55:48 AM
No, it was made after the documentary raised some pertinent questions.

However, Karpeles is indeed a slippery guy. He was arrested, got out, arrested again... He found 200.000 BTC in a "forgotten" wallet of Mt. Gox, the trial for Mt. Gox's collapse isn't over, the clients didn't recover yet their loss and so on.
4687  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Free Ross Ulbricht? on: January 05, 2020, 04:54:48 PM
That guy wasn't an agent. It was an admin of SR working with the secret agents. Whatch the documentary, you'll understand better.
4688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Case: The Real, Untold Story. Is Karpeles Satoshi or DPR? on: January 05, 2020, 04:52:54 PM
That is a good question indeed...
There are so many coincidences, questions and controversies. I wonder if we will ever find the whole truth.
4689  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Free Ross Ulbricht? on: January 05, 2020, 10:50:49 AM
This is going to be a huge reply, which might indicate I am a fan of Ross. Mostly, I am a fan of justice. And, in my opinion, Ross didn't have justice in his trial.

I touched accidentally his case in this topic, but, however, the topic is mostly related to Karpeles, Satoshi and DPR. Nevertheless, everyone should watch the documentary Silk Road Case: The Real, Untold Story, which explains in detail all the unfairness of the trial.

Some outrageous aspects are the following (remember, these are just a small part of them):
- life in prison without parole + 40 years for running a website;
- DPR2 (owner of SR2.0) spends a few days in prison; Ross goes there for life;
- the allegation that the site was used for illegal stuff is the same with accusing (and shutting down) a phone company, because its clients use the phone the settle illicit transactions;
- the defense lawyer was denied by the judge to use clear evidence to protect Ross
- the corrupt DEA agents were never exposed during the trial, in order to not influence the jury
- the jury was not told that based on its decision Ross would face a double life sentence + 40 years
- the data collected from Ross did not follow the legal path in order to obtain and unalter them
- his appeals to the later instances were not allowed; practically, he was not allowed to go to other instances, which could debate not his sentence, but if his trial was fair or not
- during the investigation and also during the trial the agencies sabotaged each other's work
- the 4th and 6th (and maybe others) amendaments of US Constitution were not respected in his trial (the government should not be able to collect Internet traffic information without a warrant / a judge can not sentence someone based on crimes he wasn't convicted of by a jury)
- although the defense had clear evidence (with testimonies) that there were multiple DPRs, the judge denied the evidences
- and so many others.

The decision itself is outrageous: double life sentence + 40 years, without parole. How could anyone in the world execute such a sentence? OK, the 40 years are (maybe) achievable. And also the life sentence. But how about the second life sentence? Is that man supposed to die and come back to life in order to spend a second life in prison?

However, besides the absurdity of the sentence, we can go on to other, non-legal aspects: his move (launching SR) was a profound act of libertarianism and it certainly helped reducing the violence from the streets. His entire life was one with no illegal activities, excepting the one from this trial. This man was sentenced to life in prison after his first wrong step in life.

I also recommend you to watch other SR-related documentaries, such as Deep Web or Silk Road - Drugs, Death And The Dark Web. However, the most important, the one bringing most light over the injustice, is Silk Road Case: The Real, Untold Story.

The (instrumented) judge's problem was not that Ross ran SR. It was a problem of the govern, which wanted to have Ross as an example for what happens when you do not obey to the system. When you seek out freedom and when you dare to have a libertarian, anarchic view. The sentence was for Ross's political views, not for his actions.

Thank you for this contest! I predict a price between 7101-7150.

4691  Other / Meta / Re: This is how bitcointalk.org looks like on a mobile phone on: January 04, 2020, 07:17:14 AM
I'm using the script developed by fahbil, mentioned also by NeuroticFish. It works almost flawless so far. The only bugs I spotted is that avatars aren't shown, signatures are truncated and sometimes the last PM received is not displayed. But these are minor bugs. However, it seems that fahbil is inactive since last summer, so the bugs won't be fixed too soon.

The script is great for browsing and for writing simple replies and it allows to keep the phone in vertical position. It is not suitable though for multiple quoting or for writing commands in code (writing in bold, italic, tables etc.).

All by all it is a great tool for browsing the forum and for using basic functions.
4692  Other / Meta / Re: The curious case of forum's most online users on: January 03, 2020, 08:30:50 PM
The latest thread regarding this issue was made by  tranthidung a few days ago.
Most time online list, is it a bug?

I missed it prior writing the post; however, I saw that there are more topics on this matter, excepting yours and tranthidung's. I found one created by baoo in 2018 and another one started by iasenko.

However, it seems that in each topic an aspect (mentioned by me in OP) was observed, but in no topic were observed all of them, which bring things in a different light. For example, in one topic was mentioned that all are new accounts; in another one that all were created within a few days; in another place was mentioned their unreal online time and so on. Maybe without having all these info gathered in one place, some questions were missed. If all are owned by one user (which is almost obvious), what's his / her purpose? How many such accounts are there? If there are hundreds or thousands, they certainly slow down the forum. Besides, as Loyce observed, they don't respect the 1 second rule...

@GazetaBitcoin, good find.

Thank you, DireWolfM14!

Then theymos could rate limit them, right?

It would be needed, in my opinion, to check how many such accounts are there, as we can only see 10 of them. If Theymos can look into this issue and he sees there are multiple such accounts (which are slowing down the forum), maybe he'll take action...

Besides, I know having alt accounts is permitted, but only as long as his owner admits that (maybe I'm wrong here, but this is what I remember). But this is not happening here, as I don't know any user to say "hey, look, I have many "time farming" accounts which may also slow down the forum with nonstop scrapping".
4693  Other / Meta / The curious case of forum's most online users on: January 03, 2020, 06:53:56 PM
Hello,

I just noticed on the forum stats page there is a section for "Most Time Online". I think this section takes into account the "Total time logged in". If it is so, the information shown is very weird.

The users shown in the respective section (10 users) and their online times are the following:

bcfan / 5366d 5h 15m
btcnfan / 5341d 22h 5m
randomnessie / 5292d 13h 25m
froastie / 5217d 11h 55m
whitesark5 / 5048d 17h 23m
liliam / 5042d 22h 46m
resumary / 5038d 16h 53m
turntablesturned / 4986d 6h 45m
x-ample / 4945d 1h 37m
wenndie / 4908d 6h 18m

1. Obviously, their online time looks unreal for anyone, but let's say it could be possible if they were very old (and still active) users of the forum. But it's not the case here (detailed below).

2. What's intriguing though is the fact that all these 10 users were registered between August 14th-17th, 2018. Which makes me think they all belong actually to a single user. Otherwise, chances are almost 0 to have 10 most online users in that list and all being registered during 4 consecutive days (14, 15, 16 and 17 August 2018).

3. All users are brand new accounts! 0 Post, 0 activity, 0 merits, 0 trust!

4. All appear last online at the moment when you look at their profile. For example, I looked at them three times today, last time being now (20:35) and they appear as being last active in the moment when their account page is opened (at 20:35). As they would be browsing the forum continuously.

5. Of course, since August 14th, 2018 and today there are way less than 5000 days (their average online time). Actually, since August 14th, 2018 and until today, January 3rd, 2019, have passed 561 days. Practically, their online time is between 8.7 and 9.5 times bigger than the total amount of time passed since they registered. With other words, it looks like they kept opened 8-10 instances (browsers) of the forum and they navigated continuously through the forum pages since mid August 2018 and until today!!! (Taking into account that the total time logged in refreshes at every 15 minutes; if you stay on a page for more that 15 minutes the time remains the same and you have to navigate to another forum page after 15 minutes in order to have increased your total time logged in.) Of course, this could be possible using a script of a bot, as no human being would navigate continuously on a forum for 561 days Smiley but the question is "Why?". Why would anyone do that?  Huh

6. Besides, these are only the top 10 users listed there. But if all these accounts belong to a single person, another question appears: how many other "time farming" accounts would that person have? And, again, why? That statistic (regarding total time logged in) is actually useless...

What do you think? Am I missing something here?  Huh

- Edit: I just saw now hosseinimr93's topic on a similar matter. But, however, there are differences now, as it follows:
- among the users he listed at that time (hmblm1245, btcnfan, froastie, keewee, randomie, bcfan, micey, liliam, randomnessie, papperbag) two look "legit": hmblm1245 - hero, registered in 2011 and keewee - legendary, registered in 2012. However, hmblm1245 looks like "time farming" as well, as he appears last online when his profile page is opened. keewee was last online in december 2019 (maybe he got tired of farming time?). From these considerations, I think these two accounts are owned by two separate persons, both being distinct from the one owning the actual top 10 users;
- btcnfan, froastie, bcfan, liliam and randomnessie were in hosseinimr93's list as well;
- only micey, randomie and papperbag (from hosseinimr93's list) follow the same pattern described by me at points 2. and 3., which would suggest they are owned by the same person which owns all the accounts described in OP.

Jared doesn't support me, I'm not fit to be a source of value, I don't speak English, I'm inadequate, I'm worthless ...

I don't think that's because of your English proficiency level. I think you sound and act like a petulant child in any language.

I think it's because wolwoo is from the Dark Side of the Force! He deleted posts of young padawans from his topic about the Dalton Gang.
