4681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: VIP telegram channels...is it worht it on: August 17, 2020, 05:46:56 PM
The paid VIP channels you see on Telegram and other sites are run by scammers, bear in mind also that even if a website is giving out signals for free, you should not still trust it and trade based on their analysis, it's the same as doing copy trading, which is risky and not reliable, follow your strategies you've learnt, if you have not learned any, start doing that before trading. So the catch is that trading is better when it's your work, you can take an online course on trading as well, if you pay for signals and it fails continuously, you will get frustrated and could keep on looking for the channel that will work and fall into the hands of more dangerous scammers.
4682  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Crypto scam exchanges and fake p2p transactions on: August 17, 2020, 08:59:03 AM
I have a couple of people who were localbitcoins traders I know who got robbed of their Bitcoins on gun point when they went out to meet the interested "buyers" in person.
If one is to meet an interested buyer in person to exchange their Bitcoin for fiat or for any other coin, they should meet in a really public place and go along with one to two witnesses, I'd personally not even recommend meeting a total stranger in this way, for me p2p is more comfortable when I'm exchanging with friends or with trusted users from a forum, like btt fir example. Because even if the deal goes smoothly when you meet a stranger in person, you could be tracked back to your home and robbed at a later date with a $5 wrench.
4683  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Credential Stuffing Attack on: August 17, 2020, 08:44:29 AM
This is how to create a secure password, it is important so even if hackers get your email address, it is impossible for them to guess the password to possibly hack the account. Another mistake users make is creating one strong password and using the same one on all their profiles, it's wrong, creating a unique strong password anytime you want to open a new profile and on all your existing ones is what should be done.

Many users have prolly submitted their email addresses to untrusted websites before ever learning it could be sold in the black market to scammers, what you should do is avoid visiting the email and consider every mail received in it as spam, if you share the address with a profile that's still active, you should change it to a different unique email and discard the previous one, cause other than hackers guessing your password, they can also send malwares to your mails and phishing links that if you click on your account/email could be compromised.
4684  Economy / Economics / Re: Warren Buffet bought “Gold” for the first time. When Bitcoin? on: August 16, 2020, 07:15:34 PM
Having all these facts is a short span of time really make me think bitcoin is going trough a new evolutionary step in his history, a #Phase5, as PlanB use to call it.
Warren Buffet didn't invest in bitcoin, but a gold mining company (by extension Gold), but I get your point and how bicoin comes in, in all of these, after the Grayscale/MicroStrategy big news and how it was affiliated with bitcoin, one thing could be certain and it's that there's going to be a gradual movement from fiat to assets that can stand inflation and ward off devaluation.

That being said, talking about assets that can ward off inflation, Gold will come to mind first, but the next asset I'll think about is bitcoin, though it's still a long way before Bitcoin can be technically a safe haven, but it's in that phase to becoming that, bitcoin is doing good things this year, and this evolutionary step will continue and end up in bigger things.

4686  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Satoshidice.io / Cryptodice.io Scam. Not paid my winning. on: August 15, 2020, 05:00:39 PM
Our record showed you had placed a wager of BTC 0.0007 with a payout of x761, which resulted in a winning of BTC 0.53235000. As we didn't expect players to win that much during that time, we are unfortunately unable to immediately payout your winning in one go.
Why will the casino not expect a player to win that high, of course it's very much possible, and isn't that why the casino should have it in their terms and conditions, the maximum amount of money they can pay out and any amount won below that should be paid to the player. That being said, paying in installments isn't all that bad, but kicking op out of their telegram group and not replying his pm's means they are having a real hard time paying up that amount, even in installments.
4687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 14, 2020, 06:08:46 PM
Willian had a really strong finish to the season and looks like a decent transfer for Arsenal. It's a free signing and when he wants to be, he's a good player. In this Arsenal team he will probably be a starter.
It's a free signing, and to me that's only what makes it a good deal for Arsenal, I do not quite understand Arsenal's transfer business, first they gave David Luiz another year contract and now signing Willian who's above 30, and past his peak. Arteta needs a good squad to compete next season, but with their transfer business thus far, I think next season we'll still see the same Arsenal we have become used to.
Regarding the Thiago deal - I really hope it's true. Liverpol probably waited and tried to get Wijnaldum deal done, since he's not signing this would be a perfect transfer. A superior player to Gini and an improvement to an already great team. Happy days Smiley
The midfield is the only area I think Liverpool need one or two new players. Milner is getting old and Henderson is getting injured often. Thiago is a nice buy, and will fix some midfield issues Liverpool has, the price tag is also very affordable and imo it's a good deal overall.
4688  Economy / Reputation / Re: Wrong accusation by bob123 on: August 14, 2020, 11:30:02 AM
I pm bob123 and told him i will pay for the remove negative and he dont reply
Wrong move. If you offer a user payment to remove a negative trust from your profile, that act on it's own is worth a red tag, and since you want to settle by payment, does it mean you're guilty?
4689  Other / Politics & Society / Re: -LET THE NEXT PANDEMIC BE LOVE- on: August 14, 2020, 10:04:19 AM
So much has hit/burdened the world of late
+ Beirut explosion
+ Police brutality
+ Terrorism
+ Religious clashes -this is happening in West Africa ATM-
+ Disregard/uncaring of human life for gain
+ Slandering/segregation/racism/stigmatisation
All this have been with the world from the beginning of times, think of those born in the early 20th century (1900-1950) and witnessed two world wars (1914-1918 and 1945-1948) they experienced far worse than now, it is what it is, some things as just inevitable.
I can only pray/hope and wish that -THE NEXT PANDEMIC BE LOVE-  a pandemic that should never have a vaccine/cure or treatment, the world need some good measure of it.
Peace cannot reign in every parts of the world, you see the U.S. and China going at each other, trade sanctions, Revolutions, Terrorism, etc, only in an Utopia world will all these be absent, and our world is not one.
4690  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal/Venmo are going to become bitcoin vendors? on: August 14, 2020, 09:41:02 AM
Curious to hear the community's opinion about this.
If not for anything, for adoption it's a good news; quite a lot of users will prolly not buy via payPal if and when it's up and running, some users aren't even comfortable using centralized exchanges and this service is going to be as centralized as it goes, with KYC and all, Tx fees is also another clog.

Just like the news about MicroStrategy the other day, what I like about this is the mainstream growth, places to purchase bitcoin increasing and firms taking U turns to accept bitcoin; every service cannot be comfortable for all, there are still quite a lot of users that will use PayPal for this as it's in their comfort zone, adoption increases as well and all that is great.
4691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC and ETH on their 2 years high on: August 14, 2020, 06:08:37 AM
This is wrong. BTC reached $12K twice this month. Check CMC historical data https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/historical-data/
Op missed when btc reached 12k last week IIRC, I think it's cause it had a short stint in that price, which makes me believe 12k may be the resistance for now. From my speculations though, btc will break the 12k resistance price and move to around 15k before the end of the year, and 2021 holds quite a lot in stall for us.
There are opinions that the new money flowing into bitcoin is coming from the stimulus packages and that may be true. Some say people are choosing bitcoin and gold as 'safe haven'.
I don't agree when people say it's the stimulus bonuses, and citizens are using it to buy bitcoins, I can't know for sure how much of those packages flowed into the bitcoin market, but I'm sure a large chunk of it entered into the food markets. People are choosing bitcoin to evade inflation and devaluation, I think that's the case imo, you heard the news about MicroStrategy firm? The government is printing money left, right and center, there's the possibility of an inflation coming, and with the recession due to corona virus, people are fleeing to bitcoin to retain value of their asset

4693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is FORSAGE a Ponzi scheme? on: August 13, 2020, 09:40:18 PM
Is FORSAGE a Ponzi scheme? Buying ethereum to keep and buying ethereum to invest in forsage, which is better?
There are already quite a lot of warning threads about forsage ponzi on the forum, it's a scam, when you buy ethereum and store them in your wallet, you have your keys and if you do not give it to scammers, your eth is safe with you and you can make ROI as eth rises. But investing in forsage ponzi is too risky, I know their investment offer sounds good especially for a newbie, but if it's too good to be true, it's a scam. Forsage is a clear ponzi, don't give your coins/keys/control to any platform.
4694  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is merit and why do some people have up to thousands? on: August 13, 2020, 07:54:24 PM
I guess I am of those profiles!;P
With close to 4000 merits, you definitely are one of the profiles op is referring to.
The merit score of your profile will tell us how good the poster you are, how faithful you are.
Concerning the quote above, it's not something you can deduce instantly by the merits the profile has. You have to consider that at the time when merits was introduced in January 2018, merits were airdropped to users only on their activity then, not quality (bear in mind that, some of those users have not earned any after that). Accounts also change hands sometimes; users farm accounts to high ranks to sell them to others who may/may not be quality posters. That being said, other than this, merit score can be used to come to your conclusion above 99% out of 100.
4695  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [POEM] Protest against scammers. on: August 12, 2020, 09:45:34 PM
Keep it up buddy, I was previously confused on the difference between peotry and peom as I was confused on what you do but just research and added to knowledge.
I've taken a course on poetry, so let me just add a little input on this; there are three genres of literature: Drama, Prose and Poetry. Poetry is that genre written in verse (which is a line of a poem) and stanza's (which are like paragraphs). So poems are works of literature written under this genre (poetry) in the above pattern, while poets are individuals who write poems. It's not always easy to unravel a meaning embedded in a poem cause it has a lot to do with the poets thought, emotions and feelings as well.

IIRC, op this is your second poem, I enjoyed the first one more, but you still did a good job in this one. You're creative in using events in the crypto market to write a poem, keep it up mate.
4696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: August 12, 2020, 06:30:07 PM
It will be City because they are punished from Champions league next year and even year after that so if they want to win the champions league now they have to work very hard for it, otherwise they will need to wait at least 2 years to even compete let alone win.
@Captain Corporate, it seems you missed the verdict on City's champions league ban, it has long be overturned and what that means is city is eligible for next seasons champions league, and the next one, if they qualify through any of the means available.
What do you guys think of Neymar anytime to score at 1.88.  Still value?  It was at 2.15ish a few days ago.
@1.88, it's a good odd, Neymar isn't the most prolific goal scorer, but the odds is good especially for a player in charge of Psg's set pieces, so if a goal doesn't come from open play, he can also score freekicks and any penalty is his to take.
4697  Economy / Economics / Re: Universal Basic Income: Ideas on how to make it work? on: August 12, 2020, 04:58:04 PM
The major challenge to this is the wealth of a particular nation, how buoyant their economy is and how low their level of unemployment is. UBI is a good initiative, but in a struggling country/third word country it'll be impossible to achieve, a country still struggling with an impoverished economy and writhing debts cannot undertake this program.

A country with a high unemployment rate will also struggle, you'll expect the nation to channel much of their funds into creating more jobs for it's citizens, as that will give them a stable income, rather than paying them a little amount that can hardly meet their needs. There is also the problem of creating inflation by printing more money to fulfil this program, that being said, I'd only expect this sort of program to be possible in first world countries.
4698  Economy / Economics / Re: MicroStrategy Buys $250M in Bitcoin, Calling the Crypto ‘Superior to Cash’ on: August 12, 2020, 09:10:49 AM
I'd be vary of such orgs coming into btc trading... Sorta defeats the purpose of it surviving as a currency and only as a trading mechanism; which is not what it should primarily be.
Wary you mean? The bitcoin network actually needs companies like MicroStrategy and even bigger ones to join the network, I don't see any cons in it, it appreciates adoption and encourages other establishments to also come in. Btc's purpose btw isn't to survive as a currency, and I don't think it matters at all what people or establishments do with btc when they buy it. That being said, if bitcoin is to serve as more of a currency like you said, more adoption is of course needed and that can only come with more of this kind of news.

4700  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can we protect Crypto Ecosystem on: August 12, 2020, 08:15:04 AM
what can you do to safeguard  this Ecosystem?
This has been asked many times already; you cannot protect others in the bitcoin network, that is one risk concern people have, the day you decide to buy btc, you take up the responsibility to protect yourself and your asset, what that means by extension is you taking up the responsibility of being your own bank, learning the best wallets to use in storing your coins, and understanding how scammers can target you, to steal your funds, and a lot of other things.

That being said, that effort in safety and protection can only be done individually, your action can't protect everyone in the system, the best you can do is just to educate the people around/in your community who are new to the bitcoin market, and even after that it falls back into their hands, cause they could still get greedy and decide to send 2btc to get 4.
