4681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Do Gamblers Do This? on: February 21, 2023, 09:19:47 AM
You asked such a question because you have your own mind and consciousness, but unfortunately, some people don't. I've never been so trapped in gambling addiction but have experienced it before I forcefully pulled back. This was possible for me because I have a strong mind, but some people have a weak mind that can't be easily checked unless they found help before they cross the red line.

I will not blame anyone, nature does not give us the same mental strength, which is why you see some people ending their lives due to a little issue. Also, my addiction to trading for over a decade made me realise what such people are facing, they can't control their minds again, and they might not be able until they are completely ruined.

That's why it's good to tell reasonable people how you feel, and they might be able to help you out or find professional help for you before it's too late.
4682  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for bitcoin on: February 21, 2023, 09:08:21 AM
Bitcoin is an asset, it can appreciate or depreciate, so it should not be strange to you. Last year, the coin depreciated due to many factors, especially inflation and bad news about the companies dealing with cryptos like FTX, and the infestation of hackers among others. If you want to know when to buy and sell Bitcoin, try to get to know how to speculate through the economic and technical means, they will be a good guide for you.

However, some believe in the cycle, I don't, yet you might still inform yourself with another good factor that could cause a much bullish run starting next year in April (Halving).
4683  Economy / Economics / Re: The current situation in the country Nigeria. on: February 21, 2023, 08:11:49 AM
You are simply not technical with this write-up and it's clear that you rushed into it being emotional. Nigerian is presently facing a cash crunch issue that was caused by the CBN policy on limits and Naira redesigning. These are measures that are long overdue as no responsible country would leave their bank notes unchanged for too long to curb the illicit flow. Nigeria's issue is even more, politicians often buy votes, which is why the CBN and FG took that measure at this crucial time the presidential election is on the 25th of February.

But the corruption is fighting back, politicians sabotaged the process which led to what Nigeria is facing presently. And as for the woman you claimed, is it the fault of the government or the bad hospital that rejected a bank transfer (which is a valid means of payment) and demanded cash? The hospital is being probed right now.
4684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there age limits to Bitcoin investment? on: February 21, 2023, 07:59:18 AM
It's the same thing as asking if there is an age limit for owning your assets and properties, there is certainly no age limit in Bitcoin investment. Both the young and old could participate, but they must be well informed about the investment before doing so.

However, this is applicable only to the core Bitcoin transaction whereby the privacy and anonymity of people below the age of 18 would be preserved. This could be done through the noncustodial wallet and decentralised exchanges. But if the investments are to be done with the custodial or the centralised exchange, KYC might be asked, and the legal underage would be restricted.
4685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Revisiting Bitcoin ATM Data and Current Growth World Wide on: February 20, 2023, 11:25:00 AM
I just want to point out that bitcoin ATM does not necessarily means you need a card for it, you can even buy coins on ATM and just a paper wallet can be printed by the ATM for you, which you can also use to spend. Bitcoin ATMs do not even support cards before.
The scope of my discussion was targeted to the card not where you are unnecessarily driving towards. I'm aware of what you explained which was why I didn't widen the discussion to that angle you brought out since they are well-known facts.

Fiat is also not stable, just not volatile as bitcoin, but inflation makes it volatile in the down direction which does not favour in long term, but bitcoin volatility in long term makes the price to increase.
Fiat is stable, no currency will be at one spot if that is what you are mistaken as unstable unless a country has a major problem or boom which makes the price of the currency significantly change, and this rarely happens. But when it comes to the range of their fluctuation, they are regarded as stable, unlike crypto, you can do your research.

People like to get bitcoin as a means of investing, which fiat can not give.
Says who? You don't seem to understand the meaning of currency investment thinking it's only crypto one can invest in, people invest in fiat daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and so on. So those who enriched themselves by buying the USD last year, didn't they invest? And if they had bought Bitcoin in the long-term in the same year, would they not lose? There are retail and institutional investors that just buy currencies and keep them when they speculate they will appreciate over some time.

It's about understanding, there is a reason why there are risk-on and risk-off seasons in the currency market. For the former, you buy USD and kept it, and for the latter, you buy your choice of appetite fiat and keep it. It's as simple as that, and it's an investment which banks and financial institutions do often.
4686  Economy / Gambling / Re: Looking for paying online casinos for refer on: February 20, 2023, 08:35:02 AM
Referral programs have advanced, consistency of referred person counts than just making a deposit and bagging referral bonus.

You can look through gambling section or just look at people's signatures here, almost all casinos run referral program.
I believe you are getting the OP wrong, the referral program is not unknown to him but needs the ones with higher paying offers, if not the highest. This is why he came to this place and it's good because the information he does not know, others might know here. And this will spare him the time, effort and energy of clicking and reading through all the programs and offers all the casinos here offer. It's a wise question to me that will save time and energy.
4687  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 20, 2023, 08:17:31 AM
In conditions like this, it actually comes back to the choice whether we really want to save or invest.
Both are very good to do because apart from anything it is a good thing for future survival. It's just that maybe every action will have an impact that we will achieve. When we really want to save, the nominal amount of money we save obviously won't change in terms of nominal value, but it is possible to decrease in terms of essence, especially as the longer the price gets more expensive, but that's good enough if we still want the same results without thinking about risk. In contrast to investments, which will definitely be profitable for the future if we are right in investing, but with a note that the risk of loss also exists in this case, so we must really be able to find out what we have to invest well.
Regardless of the angle at which we are looking at savings, it's not totally useless, it's good, but we should know the proportion that is good for savings. Savings is good, and so is an investment, and there are savings that are automatically investments too, so it depends. Also, there are investments that end in losses, so we should not be too strict about this.

In both savings and investments, we should carry out thorough learning to ascertain we know what we are doing. If you are good with investments, you make money, and you need savings for other goals.
4688  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Crypto Romance Scam - Stay alert with your Bitcoins. on: February 20, 2023, 07:58:04 AM
I don't think they need to tell adults to be careful again, as an adult, you have to be thinking with your senses and know that the internet is porous and everyone is susceptible to scams. Only preventive measure helps, which calls for anyone to be extremely careful and not do any monetary transaction with someone you don't know physically and do not trust with your money.

Romance scam has been booming for some scammers while they use fiat that was even regulated, not to talk of Bitcoin and other cryptos that are underregulated. It's good to be wise and not be a victim online.
4689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Revisiting Bitcoin ATM Data and Current Growth World Wide on: February 20, 2023, 07:44:45 AM
This is a good article but some of the claimed facts are not accurate with what I know, while some others lack consistency. Nonetheless, the article is good and worth considering as the reality of what is happening with Bitcoin ATM installation.

What we need to consider are the facts that Bitcoin is not stable in price, that's a reason why many will not trust it as some people want. They might be losing money relying on their BTC in their ATM cards, unlike the fiat, especially the USD which is so stable.

The appreciation and patronage of the ATM machines matter to the success of the companies involved, but it discourages when they are low, which is why declining is being experienced.

Mind you, SEC, CBDC and FED as you claimed are not a problem to Bitcoin. SEC regulates, but never an issue for ATM, while the work of FED is even limited in this regard, it's only verbal yet, though as much as I know.

While the CBDC is not yet a problem, no one is regarding it as a viable rival of Bitcoin yet, it has not even been in force in the US.
4690  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: February 19, 2023, 09:53:07 PM
The money involved in the gambling site is not the free money,it will be the hard earned money. Most of the people not thinking about this, while making big risk in the life. And the possibility of winning and losing is equal. We may consider it as 50% chance on equal side.So taking full risk also allow to loss and end with 0%.On odd bet,it’s essential to keep the mind for the both results. If you had win,it surely gives you more excitement as compared to the losing time.

For all the same reasons, a loss of 1.4 million dollar is peanuts for this gambler. Maybe he is an early investor in crypto and made a lot of money with that. We are all responsable for our own betting and even with very low bets you can still feel the excitement!
The identity, status, personality and feelings of the gambler were not reflected in the OP or the link posted, so how did you know the amount is a peanut to him? The $1.4M is not small money, and no matter how much this person is rich, he must have felt it because using the money to do better things that are productive would have been pricking his conscience.

The pain that one loses such huge money to a very low stake that doesn't worth much is another emotional torture.
4691  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some Common Mistakes Made by New Crypto Investors on: February 19, 2023, 01:01:33 PM
You are valid in all your stated points, and thanks for putting the newbies through to knowing what to do. It would be carelessness and an expensive mistake for any adult to venture into something new without fully being aware of it. In money-related dealing like crypto, many had learned the hard way, you don't rush in, one must first verify the genuity, safety and mode of operation to avoid mistakes and being scammed.

But about your points on wallets, one should not primarily trust the centralised exchange and any custodial wallets. The non-custodial wallets with open source are the best for true ownership of one's coin. The idea of totally condemning online wallets is not cool to me, some are safe to a high degree, except offline wallets are safer. Only people with a reasonable number of coins and long-term holders would opt for that.
4692  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What after localbitcoins.com shutting down on: February 19, 2023, 12:48:39 PM
I don't think so, if they lost due to KYC, why are the others with the same KYC flourishing in the business?
Which services which demand KYC are flourishing? In terms of centralized exchanges we've seen dozens collapse with insolvency, bankruptcy, or outright scams over the last few months, and those which haven't collapsed laying off huge chunks of their employees. And in terms of fake peer-to-peer exchanges which demand KYC, we've seen LBC shutdown and Paxful volume falling.

If you want to actually trade peer-to-peer, then you can use an exchange like Bisq which gives you complete privacy and complete security over your coins, does not require any KYC, and does not require you to deposit any money to a centralized wallet. I see no reason to use something like LBCs which provides you with zero privacy, zero security, frozen accounts, seized coins, and leaked/shared/sold data.

Binance is one company that still flourishes after the KYC, even the gateio exchange is facing downside too and laying off employees, but the KYC rule increased the rate of hacking on the cryptocurrency market. Looking at the high rate of data marketing or even same KYC rule. Hackers and money launderers would invest a lot on using other people's documents to sign up on different sites that requires KYC. The last hack on FTX, what happened to people's documents and files? These are the risks involved in KYC why most people had to move away from a very promising trading venture like localbitcoin. I could remember how long it took me to get an account approved on localbitcoin 2 years ago. These flaws are not conducive anymore especially for traders that saw LB as an intermediary between traders and buyers. What's the essence of KYC for such a platform? I think the best p2p is p2p trading. Working with a trusted trader directly on social media or any other platform.
I agree with most of what you expressed here, and it has affirmed my view that KYC is not the reason why crypto businesses are dying like some would let you believe. If anyone looks around, if a customer leaves a KYC-demanding establishment, there is a very higher tendency that such is moving to another one that would demand the same, but with a better service.

I've done that many times, and in this present dispensation, no one can tell me that a decentralized operation has more customers and volumes than the centralised one that demands KYC. This is obvious, and thank you for mentioning Binance, that's one of the crypto-related companies that are demanding it and is doing well. What about casinos to say the least?

However, it would be wrong to depend on social media for your P2P, this is one of the reasons why many people are easily swindled.
4693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 19, 2023, 09:31:40 AM
Quote from: makishart
I thought that 20 points possible for napoli but it seems like intermilan was still lucky to scored two goals before full time.  Cheesy Another good result by milan even though the club was winning only with 1 goal against monza but that's good enough rather than get nothing.

Another upcoming match that looks so easy to bet is atalanta vs lecce. Im sure that 90% atalanta will be wining against lecce consider lecci has horrible performance during last 5 matches. Juventus vs spezia gonna be easy bet too.

Despite, the victory Inter achieved from Udinese last night that made their points to increased, doesn't mean they can take the first position from Napoli because Napoli are still ahead of Inter which is still giving Napoli fans hope of achieving this Italian league competition title this season. Juventus will be my favorite between Spezia match, because Juventus displayed some good skills in their last match that made people to believed that they can still achieve something good in their remaining matches. I don't think, Spezia players has the power to stop Juventus players not to score goals that will give them victory in their next match.
No one should be doubting Napoli in Serial A, for now, they've made the right choices of players and are 15 points above their closest rival, which is not a joke. The presence of Victor Osinhem and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia among others has blessed the club, others might only try if their top players don't have injuries.

As for Juventus and Spezia, you can't compare them, Juventus will always be my favourite. If not for the 15 points deduction, they would have been in the third spot in the league above Inter Milan. And despite being in a lower spot, they continue to give in their best efforts as they don't belong there.
4694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: February 19, 2023, 09:07:25 AM
Arsenal were praying for Manchester City to get a loss today even though it didn't end as a loss for City, a draw feels almost the same. Everyone has been mocking Arsenal for dropping all 8 points lead in the premier league and I believed they were done for but Manchester City result yesterday brought hope back to Arsenal. What an interesting season, with Manchester City and Arsenal on each other tails.
You made me laugh, prayer indeed! Well, that is their wish after all. I posted yesterday when I was reading a sure win for Man City by many people that "humanly speaking Man City would win, but football could disappoint anyone at any time." We now know the reality by drawing the opponent. This is a bit of a setback for Man City that could defeat arsenal easily, it seems they relaxed the tempo.

Well, the 2 points contention between the two archrivals will continue and we will be seeing missing chances and winnings that will determine who deserves the trophy among the 2 top contenders.
4695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bahrainian Hotel accepts bitcoin Payment on: February 19, 2023, 08:57:40 AM
Finally, Bitcoin is going to enter the world beyond the borders of different countries of the world. A hotel in Bahrain "Novotel Bahrain Al Dana Resort" is set to become the first hotel in the world to offer services to customers through Bitcoin payments.
It's good to see another establishment accepting our lovely Bitcoin as a payment system, but you should know that it's not the first hotel and luxury house that accepts Bitcoin and other cryptos as payment systems. If you are in doubt, please visit the Nasdaq website: Luxury Houses Accepting Cryptos

Nonetheless, I love the Binance preference, most people use it and by virtue of this, the transaction fee will be free within it, which is a very good deal for both parties.
4696  Economy / Economics / Re: No petrol/diesel car sales by 2035/ Reality or dream? on: February 19, 2023, 08:47:04 AM
Pollution and greenhouse effect caused by combustion engines are alarming and are detrimental to health, the climate has to be preserved, and I believe the world power will lead by example as they are already working towards realising it.

But the initial challenge will be the price of the cars and machines produced. They can't be cheap initially, and the ones we've seen now are not cheap to be sincere. However, 2035 is 12 years ahead, and many things are still possible. Yet, I know the G-6 countries would try, but they might still not be able to fade away 50% of their target by then. This would be worse in developing and underdeveloped countries.

So, in my view, it might take over a century to fade this away after some genuine efforts towards the project.
4697  Economy / Gambling / Re: What sort of Weekly & Monthly Bonuses do Bitcointalk members want? on: February 18, 2023, 02:49:25 PM
I personally think that the cashback system plays the most important role for a casino site nowadays.  Because almost all gamblers lose their bet at some point of time while playing gambling, in this case gamblers will be most attracted to the site if they are given some percentage cashback of their loss amount. i think this is a potential strategy. Because I myself personally look for such sites

In fact not many bitcoin casino offers cashback, most bitcoin casino offers rakeback. I myself prefer to have rakeback than cashback, because rakeback gives players something back based on the wagering activity regardless how is the overall profit. It means that losing and winning players will still get something back. Cashback might be something attractive for whales but for small player like me, the amount of cashback wont be big since I wont lose big amount of money, that's why rakeback is a better one than cashback.
To me, it's difficult to establish an end difference in the advantages of cashback and rakeback, though they differ in modes. However, I believe it's based on the angle the person is looking at the two, they are all good for their purposes compared to when the casino will not offer anything. And big money or small, it doesn't matter, your rakes and cash reimbursement come in proportion to what you bring to the table.

The terms and conditions of usage are also the same for the two classes, so I see nothing different here whether you are rich or not.
4698  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What after localbitcoins.com shutting down on: February 18, 2023, 09:19:04 AM
Don't dwell in the past glory, you can't use all-time success to judge the stability and suitability of any business.
History always repeats itself, especially when it comes to crypto exchanges. Don't tell me you don't know this.
You of all people with your rank on the forum shouldn't have replied in a hurry and based on just a context without reading the full story. If you read the post again, you would know that I rebuffed the claim of the all-time high of Localbitcoins against Paxul using Google and Yahoo as an example, as not an indication of their present and future successes in my reply, which borne what you quoted.

This is business (crypto or not), and records are being broken yearly, so you are so wrong that history will repeat itself because it's crypto-related as no one will ever be able to break business records.

You're totally wrong!

Nottingham forest vs Manchester city is happening today but it will not going to be a tough match like their last match that made them to defeated Arsenal 3-1. Manchester city will defeat Nottingham forest 4-0 to maintain their first position in the premier league competition and to stand a good chance to embrace this season title again. I don't think, Nottingham forest can use home advantage to score a single goal in this match, because Manchester city defenders will never allow such mistake to happen than to make their defensive hard for Nottingham forest strikers through out the match.

Manchester City are doing pretty well at the moment, the whole picture has changed after the team beat Arsenal. Now that they will do whatever they can to become champions, teams like Nottingham Forest are not strong enough to rival them at the moment. I also think that they will get a victory with plenty of goals and show their leadership to everyone.
Now it's time to increase the score difference Smiley
I've read a lot of dissatisfaction about Arsenal in recent days and people have not reserved their frustration at all. If care is not taken, they could still be displaced to the third spot. This year makes it about 2 decades since Arsenal won the EPL, that is too far, this was their chance but they are now being unserious, to the extent that unexpected clubs now beat them.

As for Man City, they started well this season before they fumbles, but now, they have geared up again, which is an advantage for them. Humanly, judged by past speculations, Nottingham Forest can't beat them but this is football.
4700  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin be trusted? on: February 18, 2023, 07:53:49 AM
The answer is, Yes, Bitcoin can be trusted! However, you were not prepared for this question simply because you know little about Bitcoin and blockchain technology and how they come into play with the acceptance by people and the world government. The coin has opened the eye of the world to blockchain technology and has advanced digital payment systems which some governments are now building upon.

This is not a project that will just disappear so soon, so, anyone could trust it. I recommend you to read to educate yourself and your friend:
