4701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If You Win Big Will You Remember Your Losses on: September 08, 2019, 06:15:51 AM
My gambler "friend" always remember his losses whether he wins or not; a family member also does.
That's before they decided to quit Wink

Play Poker instead of those chance-alone-based games, it's more thrilling, intelligent and fun.

@coin-investor
BTW, you must be talking about PCSO's Keno... It's not offline, it is still connected to their server for verification, the "Keno Lotto Express" that delivers the numbers and other stuffs. (you mean local?).

Off-topic: "If You Kept on Losing, You'll Remember Your Winnings" is far more interesting, IMO.
Because that's what keeping real gambling addicts enthusiasts gambling.
4702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 2070 and RTX2060 SUPER in the same RIG on: September 08, 2019, 05:54:16 AM
Search the term SLI and you should find your answer as well as the actual steps you need to take in order to make this idea a reality.
He won't be needing an SLI Bridge for mining, those are only required for multi-GPU Gaming PC (for graphics).
All he need is a mining software that supports both GPU models and each GPU will mine independently.

Not to mention, RTX2060 doesn't support SLI, it's only available for RTX2080/ti Lips sealed
4703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cuda Error - Cannot allocate big buffer for DAG on: September 08, 2019, 04:03:20 AM
I am new to the mining sector and as nicehash is a minor beginner, I wanted to go on Claymore, but it does not work. This is a console screen and the contents of the bat file. Thank you for all the help you would give me

AFAIK, the 3GB version of GTX1060 can't mine Ethereum anymore, you should have bought the 6GB version.
I don't know how others managed to mine using that card, perhaps, Ethereum forks.

Or read this reddit post: Are 3GB cards officially dead?

which nvidia gpu are you using?
if the vram is 3gb then it is not sufficient to mine eth in windows
The console log says "GEFORCE GTX1060 3GB"  Wink

To reduce space you can run it in prune mode
https://bitcoin.org/en/full-node#reduce-storage
He still needs to download and verify the entire blockchain before it can be pruned. So he first needs to move the Bitcoin Core directory to a partition with enough space.
Yes but No.
Yes, he need to download and verify the entire blockchain;
No, because if the selected size was reached, core will start to delete the older blocks even during the sync process.

I'm not just a noobie, but a real beginner.
Newbie (noobie) and beginner means the same Tongue

PS. You can go higher than 550 (MiB), say 1024 or more.
4705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin 'successfully' transferred to an invalid bitcoin address on: September 08, 2019, 03:16:00 AM
I meant after the hack is done, how do we track where the stolen coins go? Is there a standard way to know "this address has funds that were stolen on mm/yyyy?
Just knowing where the particular UTXO was spent or if the address was publicly posted as "his", nothing else.

I would be a game of cat and mouse.
For the hacker, he can just send the coins to a mixer or ConJoin to reduce the chance of being traced.
For the authorities (not Bitcoin developers), they use specialized software and tools to check if addresses belong to the same wallet or other techniques like Dust attack to accomplish it.

If you ask me, the hacker has the advantage on this game, but that depends on his wit.
4706  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Complete stranger/NOOB to BTC gambling... on: September 07, 2019, 09:08:23 AM
That "earning through capcha" sounds like a faucet to me.

As far as I remember, Stake does have a built-in faucet with 100satoshi/claim if your account have 0 balance.
I don't know if you can claim more if you deposited to the site like other gambling sites did...
But the whole feature of the site is not that faucet.

Otherwise, stake is a legit gambling site; just make sure that you've visited the real URL (fake URLs through PM is a common scam).
Here's the official thread: link.
4707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin 'successfully' transferred to an invalid bitcoin address on: September 07, 2019, 07:01:36 AM
P.S
The wallet prompted me to install an update before sending the transaction and I'm pretty sure it was official electrum-btc website.
Check your browsing history if it's actually electrum.org or https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/.
That's to know the reason why you've been hacked, but with this:

the transaction is already confirmed
Transaction id 1cdc45c6f92430d021f387af6564353cb90281da4ee8e1e9721387ad05874c45
You won't be able to reverse the transaction.

For the validity of the address, read this: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Address
(the 1st paragraph is enough).
4708  Economy / Reputation / Re: Abuser gave me a negative feedback. on: September 07, 2019, 04:57:57 AM
Secondly, AbBitNut isn't even in the DT2/DT1 list so there's no way that "that" old trust rating will show by default.
So from my point of view, if you get a false feedbacks that doesn't affect your account, you let it go and continue your activity on he forum.

He is in DT2, due to some inclusions from a DT1. I see it under trusted feedback on OP, I am using default trust list FYI.
Weird, one of my trust list must have distrusted ~ABitNut thus removed him in the DT2 list on my trust page.
I'm not seeing the negative rating.

But it's displayed if I set my trust list to default.
@StonerStanley It's not a major trust issue anyways, people usually refer to Trust flag for possible scammer profiles.
4709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Need help figuring out fees of a dice/crash game. on: September 07, 2019, 04:25:00 AM
Hey, I have some questions about how Dice/crash games operate that I want to clarify.
Do they take .25% of their commission on every bet?
No.
Quote from: MakaveliTA
So let's say user wins 2x he's winning 2(x*99.75) ?
And No.
You'll get what is stated in the "profit"; you bet 0.0001 for x2, you'll get +0.0001.

As everybody mentioned, it's all about the "House Edge", 1% maybe low at glance but in the long run (multiple consecutive bets),
you'll have a lower chance of winning (I even know one with 5% house edge).
Like 49.5% for a supposed to be 50% chance.
TL;DR: They earn through your loses.

Additionally, nobody have mentioned this: they gain additional income through withdrawal fees and other discreetly marketed promos that were designed to make you bet than hoard (who uses gambling sites as wallet anyways).
Notice that casinos usually have high minimum withdrawal amount but lower than the withdrawal fee minimum deposit amount? it's for ca-ching~.
4710  Economy / Gambling / Re: MintDice – Bitcoin Casino With Online Slots, Bitcoin Crash & Bitcoin Investment on: September 07, 2019, 03:42:30 AM
-snip-
Your bet result doesn't depend on your past bet. So, changing high to low or low to high does not increase your chance. The output is determined 100% randomly.
It's your choice. You can bet however you want. But that doesn't affect your chance.
That's why I said "feel" it's about "feeling lucky", it's maybe random but having a feature that I (or others) have accustomed to is a must-have for casinos with dice.

The 404 error is a problem indeed. We're also working on that.
I have a feeling that it has something to do with the server's response to the gambler's internet connection speed.

I'm alternating between two ISPs depending on the website, whenever I try the slower one (my default for this type of sites),
I always encounter that 404 error during loading of either of the three casino games, or even loading the homepage.
But when I tried to use the faster ISP, I rarely get that error.
Both aren't connected to a VPN.

Hope this helps.
4711  Economy / Reputation / Re: Abuser gave me a negative feedback. on: September 07, 2019, 03:15:49 AM
First, Technical Support isn't the right board for this kind of issues (this belongs to meta).

Secondly, AbBitNut isn't even in the DT2/DT1 list so there's no way that "that" old trust rating will show by default.
Next, Trust isn't moderated: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ means that moderators will not meddle with trust issues (with some exceptions).
Lastly, check your Trust Settings if you've manually included him in your trust list or you might have selected Trust depth 3-4 and he's on that list.
If you did, set it back to default = 2.
4712  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I can not send Bitcoin with Electrum on: September 06, 2019, 02:55:29 PM
This is an example! There are 10 Bitcoins on the wallet. Anything more than 10,000 satoshi does not allow sending due to bytes
The input's balance isn't relative to the size.
Whether a UTXO is 1BTC or 10,000sat, the size is almost the same (the difference will be too minimal to notice).
The number of inputs/outputs dictate the size.

Using the instruction above,
I suggest you to sort them by amount and make another transaction using the smaller inputs using a very small fee like 1sat/byte (consolidate).
If you're in a hurry and need to use high fee, spend from the high balanced ones and as much as possible, select fewer than 5 inputs for high fee transactions.

Check the total fee in your 2nd image  Wink
4713  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: I can not send Bitcoin with Electrum on: September 06, 2019, 02:41:06 PM
Version 3.3.8
loading..
That particular transaction is 10.9kB larger than the default maximum allowed transaction size which is 100,000 bytes.
There must be a lot of inputs included and the server you've connected to had rejected your transaction.

I guess you're sending all of your wallet's balance....?
But anyhow, try to remove some of the low-value inputs by displaying the Coins tab (View->Show Coins),
then freeze (right_click->freeze) the one's with very low amount to exclude them to your transaction.

Alternatively, you can select which inputs to spend from using CTRL+Left click to select (highlight) your preferred inputs then Right click->Spend.
Then the send tab will be displayed with those inputs already included.
4714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unsure what to do with .wallet file on: September 06, 2019, 08:22:31 AM
The file name format resembles this description: (so there's a high chance that it is a Multibit classic wallet)
Wallet backups. These are two more directories where backups are made of your wallets. One stores backups for encrypted wallets, the other for unencrypted wallets. These files are in the format 'saving-YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.wallet' and 'saving-YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.info'.

With your reply, I guess you've downloaded the "classic" not the HD version and successfully selected the file, right?
then that "word" must be your passphrase.

If not, download the Multibit Classic instead of Multibit HD and use "File / Open wallet" and browse t the location of your wallet file(s).
4715  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cheapest store to buy online cigarettes in UK on: September 06, 2019, 04:26:12 AM
Hillary Jerry works for SmokersUnit.com; I have a lot of emails from them.  Tried to make a purchase of two cartons and kept getting excuses when it never arrived.  They claim it was seized/or returned to them; however, when I asked for proof, they provided none.  Their response to correct this was for me to send them $450 for 10 more cartons (they'll send 12).  Their reasoning was that a larger package will get through Customs.  DON'T BUY FROM THEM!
You should at least provide some evidence like a quote from those email and purchase screenshot/vouchers, etc.
Then make an official scam accusation (as much as possible) in complete detail on this board: Scam Accusations.

This will likely get nowhere like the ones I've seen in other Marketplace threads.
4716  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Draft page - Pros & Cons on: September 05, 2019, 03:11:01 AM
I don't check about PMs, but for posts, I checked it myself. I created the thread, just to checked it will be saved in draft page without clicking on Preview button or not. Result is without Preview button click, Draft page saved it. You can check it with your next post.
Honestly, I read other people said that clicking on Preview button is mandatory thing to have saved posts in draft page, but it is incorrect, from what theymos wrote and from my experience.
It's a backup thinggy.
If you still haven't clicked "Post" or "Preview", and the browser crashed/PC shut down unexpectedly, there will be no draft for that particular post.
Drafts will be saved after you've clicked either of the two buttons.

If you click "preview" once, there will be an immediate backup of the current version of your post (good as backup).
And another backup of the final version after clicking "post".
4717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: sendtoaddress sending 0 amount every time PHP on: September 05, 2019, 02:48:17 AM
In electrum you can send transactions to other addresses in your wallet and it transfers it all to the new address, how come its not doing this behavior in regtest CLI? The coins are not stored in that address, when I use generatetoaddress I use a different address than the one I'm sending it to.

I'll try using createwallet
You need to specify the address when you call "sendtoaddress" like: bitcoin-cli sendtoaddress "other bitcoin address" 2.1 (including the quotation marks)
"getnewaddress" doesn't automatically select the one generated as the next receiving address.

Next, I just tested Electrum, it also indicates any self-send transaction with "0 amount sent" like BitcoinCore does.
Even sending to a different address from the same wallet.
4718  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I earn $1 worth of bitcoin everyday? Please help! on: September 04, 2019, 03:25:24 AM
If you want to earn Bitcoin on a daily basis for free (daily $1-$3 Bitcoin). I would say try out Honeyminer.
-snip-
I was gonna say "mine altcoins" then I saw this Lips sealed

@WLtoys V912
Mining is a good choice for that "$1 a day" earnings (literally) as long as you have free electricity (or paid by your parents); have a decent GPU and CPU. That "free electricity" alone will obviously grant you more than $1 a day.

I'll just leave you an advice to research the basics very well for you to not fall for "gimmicks" that will cut your profit under the hood like minergate and "others" that offer the same gimmicky service.

I think you mistook "Ethereum" for "Electrum" :)

This isn't the right board for technical discussion about ETH.
