4701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fully vaccinated individuals now spared of masks in the casinos in Vegas on: May 18, 2021, 06:23:51 AM
As far as I know, even if you are vaccinated, there is still a chance you will get the virus, but it won't be life-threatening anymore even if you are 60+ years old or a person with comorbidity. Vaccines only prevent the virus to be more dangerous. I don't agree with what they did on that casino on Vegas, many people goes on those type of places and that is definitely a hotspot for the virus. It would only take 1 superspreader just to infect many people again. Plus, we all know that there are different variants of covid now, I hope people there still do safety precautions even if things start to get back to normal.
4702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk on Twitter: "Chihuahua." The Sheep: "We Love You Elon, BTC is Dying!" on: May 17, 2021, 09:05:31 AM
Elon Musk is the new McAfee now. He thought of a way how to accumulate more bitcoin for his own benefit, he hypes the dogecoin while keeps saying bad things about bitcoin. If bitcoin dumps, his company buys more at a lower price. Only new people in crypto are blinded by him, those who have been here since bitcoin is not that yet popular won't fall for what he is doing. I hope some authorities should do something about this soon or his manipulating the crypto will continue as long as he wants.
4703  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin do the same scenario in 2018 ? on: May 17, 2021, 07:55:36 AM
Only time could tell if history will repeat itself. But for me, that is not likely to happen again because many institutions now invested in bitcoin and started to acknowledge the use of blockchain technology in their businesses unlike in 2017-2018 where it was just hype resulting in bitcoin to reach $20k and drop more than 75% of that price. Mass adoption is slowly happening and not just bitcoin but also different cryptocurrencies are gaining traction to the public. Many popular personalities now see bitcoin as a store of value and a good investment for long term.
4704  Economy / Speculation / Re: i think we will see bitcoin 44k sooner on: May 17, 2021, 06:55:31 AM
This is a big chance for those who haven't bought bitcoin yet. With this current price, I'm sure big institutions are also loading their bags of it. If you bought at a higher price, don't panic and just have strong hands to hodl your bitcoin. Correction is normal for crypto and this is not even a big dump compared to what happened way back 2018. Market can't go down forever and vice versa. To avoid anxiety, don't look at your portfolio for few days and avoid watching video or reading an article that is related to crypto. It is likely possible that you will panic sold your holdings if your emotions can't keep up.
4705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: May 17, 2021, 05:50:38 AM
This guy is not good in the crypto community imo. He manipulates the crypto market to earn more money for his SpaceX project. He distracts the public by shilling doge and saying bad things about bitcoin to buy at a lower price. If bitcoin moves up, he can decide to sell his holdings to fund his SpaceX project then manipulate the market again to cause a panic again. If one or two of those top 10 holders of doge will sell their holdings that can cause dogecoin to go less than $0.1 then I think his dogecoin believers will stop following him and his madness will stop.
4706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling becomes popular on: May 17, 2021, 05:01:06 AM
With the covid pandemic and most people are only at home they are finding ways to release their boredom. And some gambling games that are done outdoors like cockfighting also found a way to still continue their business despite this pandemic. Here in our country, online cockfighting is very popular now. It is done through a website and gamblers who are into this game should look for an agent that will allow them to bet on these websites. Cashouts are also processed by those agents and some commission goes to them which gave them to earn some money also during these hard times.
4707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's nice to be back again on Bitcoin @50,000$ on: May 16, 2021, 06:06:44 AM
Really happy to choose holding rather than convert it fiat by the time I decided to leave crypto.

As long as we don't need it for personal use like emergencies then hodling is really the best choice when you have bitcoin. Since december 2020 breaking its 2017's ATH, we already soared more than 200% of that price or $65k per bitcoin as the current ATH. I think this is because many big institutions already started to adopt bitcoin and blockchain technology to their businesses. People who panic sold during bear season are definitely in regret now. For those who sold their bitcoin because of unpredictable things that happened, it is not too late to buy now. Bitcoin has still a lot more to grow now that mass adoption is slowly happening.
4708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto-Casinos and KYC on: May 16, 2021, 04:32:56 AM
From all the comments in this thread, almost everyone does not agree that crypto casino enforces KYC. But fortunately almost all crypto casinos
that I actively use now don't enforce KYC, because it is not comfortable to use a gambling platform that enforces KYC. I was also going to register
on the new gambling platforms and was required to submit some personal information, I immediately changed my mind and decided not to join
that gambling platforms.

It is obvious that these new gambling websites have bad motives to their users. If they really want to compete with the popular gambling platforms, they won't require KYC. I just wonder now if people still comply with the KYC of those new platforms because they often give bonuses to their new users as a way to attract them. For me as long as there are trusted gambling platforms that doesn't require KYC then I would definitely avoid these new platforms that are asking for personal information.
4709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto-Casinos and KYC on: May 15, 2021, 11:35:30 AM
1- Would you gamble at a crypto-casino knowing it would ask you for KYC documents before withdrawal?

No, there are plenty of crypto-casino that don't require KYC as long as you are not withdrawing it directly in fiat. If that casino requires KYC and they are a new platform then think twice before submitting your info to them. Usually these websites offers some bonuses and once you won some decent amount and try to withdraw it they will ask for your personal information

2-  Do you feel safe giving out your KYC to online crypto-casinos?

Who would feel safe giving out their info online. You don't know if they are planning bad something about it and you just found out you did something illegal.
4710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Want Tesla To Accept Doge? on: May 13, 2021, 05:29:40 PM
I highly disagree that Tesla should accept doge to purchase their product. Dogecoin has no active developers and it has an unlimited amount of supply. This is an insult to other projects who are working hard to improve their coin's utility. Only Elon's doge army would approve this and I hope they know the complete backround of dogecoin. Doge was always just less than 1 cent before if not because of him. No one bothers to buy it because people in the crypto community know it has no use-case.
4711  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Traders Don't easily lend out money. on: May 13, 2021, 04:32:49 PM
You have to understand as a friend to traders that even in times when big wins are celebrated, it is not still a time to ask them to help you with money for your needs with the thought that they are in profit, because if you do you will get yourself disappointed nine times in ten chances.

Work for your own money, nobody owes you anything.

Successful traders went into struggle too before they reach that point so we should not feel bad if they could not help us when we ask them. They did not earn that money for us. Like in my experience, I don't set high expectation when I ask someone for help. I don't expect them to just say yes just because we are close or a family relative. I just think that it is their money and they worked hard for it so there is no reason to forced them to lend it to me just because they are already successful.
4712  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW IMPORTANT IS STOP LOSS on: May 13, 2021, 03:43:00 PM

he's an investor, expect him that he's in the long term strategy.

True. As the investor, he or she must put a strategy for the long term. They won't plan to sell their coins in a short time. So, she or she doesn't need a stop-loss feature.

Putting stop loss even if it is for long term is also good if you are able to set it properly. If the market dumps hard like in a bear market, you can buy a coin lower than the price you've bought during this bull season. Prices of cryptocurrencies during those seasons are really low that it is easy for an altcoin to increase 10x when it's bull season again. Stop-loss is very important because it decreases the chance of your portfolio of having massive loss for a long time and enabling us to buy more quantity at a cheaper orice.

4714  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Bigas PH are now accepting cryptocurrency? on: May 13, 2021, 02:31:05 PM

4715  Economy / Economics / Re: A Sudden Price Drop in The Crypto Markets on: May 13, 2021, 12:06:00 PM
I don't know what could have caused it, it could have been Elon Musk's tweets and all because of his influence but I'm sure he doesn't control the market.

He doesn't control it but he can influence it just like what happened today and how he made dogecoin popular. I just don't understand what type of people sold their bitcoin just because of his tweet. I sleep last night with the price at $57k and when I woke up I was shocked that it dumped all the way to $46k. It is just hard to believe that retailers can bring that price that low. I'm sure that there are many buyers who are waiting to buy at a lower price especially $50k but still able to bring the price lower than that.
4716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to seek help if you need; concerned with gambling addiction. on: May 13, 2021, 09:51:25 AM
There are a lot of groups in this day and age that offer help regarding gambling addiction, I am pretty sure that a simple Internet search is going to yield you millions of results, just make the parameters specific to your country since the search engine might be confused and give results about groups in the international level.
I believe the best solution to gambling addiction is to get rehab, there should be interaction from gamblers to professionals who would help them, not by seeking online advice only since even though they have the information on what to do, if they are not interested in doing it, it will still not help them.

Some gamblers are afraid to go to rehab because they are afraid to be discriminated by the society. Plus, it would also need the family's support of that addicted gambler for him to go on those institutions or specialists. Most often an addicted gambler just goes broke and ruins his life because his family is not willing to help him. That is why I admire people who are willing to help these types of people, they are also good at giving advice that they will even help you to go to those rehabs.
4717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man lost £20,000 in one night after becoming addicted to online gambling! on: May 12, 2021, 11:53:04 AM
Yeah, I read the article and I see that this kind of gambling addiction is very very damgerous, for in this kind of game, these people will hope that by gambling they would be able to change their lives by winning very big, not thinking of the consequences if in case they have used up all the money and they end up in huge debt. If the person is not mentally stable in such times of crisis it will end up being depressed and might have suicidal thoughts. Remember, only gamble money you are willing to lose and that's it. If you lose it all then go home and don't gamble again.

I pity the man who lose that 20k euro in one night, I saw the article and all those happen because of the pandemic. He is struggling with his mental health and he found gambling to relieve his stress on it. His addiction consumed him that it almost ruined his life. Good thing he found a group that helps with addiction and started a new life. I hope some members here don't release their frustration on gambling because of the pandemic, find someone you can talk to, or have a hobby that is not related to gambling.

Quote
I had never really struggled with my mental health before, but then I felt unstable and everything got completely out of control.

4718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: in between the decision to hold or sell on: May 11, 2021, 11:09:36 PM
having a conversation with a friend today , he was asking me if he should sell or hold a coin. i didnt give a straight answer, i just told him the project is a good one that can do well but if you are willing to wait then you can hold but if you need some money then you can sell off. he then replied that he will wait for an additional 25% increase before he would sell off. i think i tried my best to let him make his final decision himself. is there any better way to do this? if it were you, how would you respond to this. ??

Sell half then leave the other half for long term. Time will come that the coin you are holding has a possobility to go lower than the price you bought it when bear market happens. Selling half means you will be able to have buying power at a cheaper price or any other coins on sale on that moment. Waiting for more gains will just leave you at a disappoinment if that coin is aleady at its peak and it dumped after few days.
4719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If Musk doesn't tweet Dogecoin, can it still soar? on: May 11, 2021, 11:20:05 AM
Dogecoin has only become a trend because of Elon, it won't soar that much this year if it wasn't for him. Dogecoin has no real project and has unlimited amount of supply so one got really interested buying it until he starts tweeting about it. I don't know if it will continue to soar and achieve their speculated price of 1$ but one thing is certain, it is very risky to jump on the hype on the hype now. It is very volatile that its price can pump or dump quickly depending on what Elon do or tweets.
4720  Economy / Economics / Re: If we have crypto Why people still buy stocks? on: May 11, 2021, 10:16:30 AM
Crypto is very volatile so there are still some people that prefer buying stocks. We experienced an 80% correction way back in 2018 and we just recovered last year. And I'm sure we are speculating if that would happen again. If I have plenty of money I would not just put it on crypto. Stocks have less gain but it won't matter if you have huge capital in them plus they are backed up by big companies. In crypto, they are just speculation. You invest in that particular coin because you put your trust in them and believe that it has the potential to increase massively in the future.
