4701  Economy / Exchanges / Re: A new virus is attacking Google 2FA app on: February 28, 2020, 05:10:00 PM
I was actually doubting the OP since I thought the news is fake but then I thought of searching it on google.
What an irony, searching about google on google, lol  Grin
Anyway, the top 3 results were

Android malware can steal Google Authenticator 2FA codes
Google Authenticator Is Vulnerable To Android Malware, Can Steal 2FA Codes
2FA apps like Google Authenticator reportedly vulnerable to malware snooping

Just enter in google search " google authenticator vulnerability " and look for yourself
I guess the news is actually true.
4702  Local / India / Re: Play Quiz and Win BTC - Take the quiz now on: February 28, 2020, 04:40:27 PM
I am planning on to close the quiz by Sunday 12:00:00 forum time.
Anybody who are planning on to take the quiz can do it before the specified time.
I will disclose the answer sheet on Sunday 12:00:00 forum time and then discuss over it if anybody finds any conflicts over it.
Only after everything is sorted I will announce the winners for the quiz upon which the users shall post their BTC addresses.
I won't disclose the score publicly but anybody who wants to know the score can PM me.
4703  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Copy trade - New trend of cryptocurrency exchanges? on: February 27, 2020, 03:53:21 PM
According to me, one should only take the risk of investing in something new if he is planning out the strategy well by himself and has calculated the risk of loss of investment.
In this case, copy trading fails to achieve our goals. So the simple answer would be not to take the risk of trading via copy trading and instead plan your strategy well by yourself and then execute the trade.
4704  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Random coin picks experiment on: February 27, 2020, 03:18:57 PM
I will just say that you are gonna be wasting your time and money by doing this experiment.
If it's just a one time thing then may be you can proceed with the experiment but if your goal is to carry this on for a long term then may be you should stop this right now.
If the goal is to earn money which I think it is since your ROI is 100% then you should stop wasting your money.
There is no definite trading strategy here and you are just investing randomly and hoping to get good returns.
This might work 1 or 2 times but it's guaranteed to lose the next time. So consider rethinking about this right now.
4705  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My top 7 exchanges for trading on: February 27, 2020, 02:44:29 PM
Binance has become the obvious choice of most crypto traders these days. It has become so much convenient that no other exchange is required as a secondary option to trade.
Most of the early traders would have used most of the exchanges you listed.
I remember using Bittrex and Poloniex back in those days. In fact Poloniex was the first exchange I used and then later stopped when things went in the wrong direction.
Anyway, it has become easier now to redirect new traders to the best exchanges these days since Binance, Kucoin and Huobi are the most reputable exchanges left.
4706  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So are we in bullish times or Not?? on: February 26, 2020, 05:21:39 PM
We can't actually predict anything accurately since nobody can predict the future but yeah, there are pretty good chances to see a bullish trend this year.
We have seen a long bearish trend in the past 2 years and only lately has the bitcoin's price increased little by little.
The upcoming halving has many stakes upon it since many are keeping hopes on it to increase bitcoin's price.
So even though we cannot assure anything, there are good chances for bitcoin to see a bullish trend this year.
4707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stock market CRASHING. How will this reflect on Bitcoin on: February 26, 2020, 05:06:20 PM
We can already see the results since bitcoin's price has already dropped to $8800 from $10200.
We can't call it a recession but the crash in stock market has made the crypto market panic and people are selling their cryptocurrencies.
Altcoins are taking the biggest hit since they are decreasing in price in terms of BTC which is further more decreasing their USD price.
4708  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Doubt on double spending on: February 26, 2020, 04:38:55 PM
I started learning more technical aspects of bitcoin lately and so I started reading it's whitepaper. I have a doubt in the 'reclaiming the disk space' section from the bitcoin whitepaper.

Quote
Once the latest transaction in a coin is buried under enough blocks, the spent transactions before
it can be discarded to save disk space. To facilitate this without breaking the block's hash,
transactions are hashed in a Merkle Tree [7][2][5], with only the root included in the block's hash.
Old blocks can then be compacted by stubbing off branches of the tree. The interior hashes do
not need to be stored.

As per the above, it is enough to store the block header and discard all the transactions inside the block by just keeping the root hash.

Now assume I am trying to double spend a transaction which was previously mined and buried under many lateral blocks.
How will the miner validate that the transaction is not being double spent since the miner will only be validating the block header and not all the transactions inside it?

Could someone clear my understanding ?
4709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT BITCOIN on: February 25, 2020, 05:41:34 PM
I am really happy you took time to educate that guy. You did a good job bud. He being a teacher has the will to get educated himself from someone else.
Just imagine this, you educated him so much that he himself started learning more and more about crypto and became a successful investor.
He then being a teacher, educated more people like himself and all of them started investing in crypto.
And the chain continued. This is how we must encourage others to learn more and more about crypto.
4710  Local / India / Re: Play Quiz and Win BTC - Take the quiz now on: February 25, 2020, 05:04:20 PM
Really it is quite fun when I am answering the questions in google forum because it will gives great knowledge about crypto and related news. and I want to know  the time line for this  Quiz.
I was kinda thinking the same. I wanted to post a deadline for the quiz so that I can announce the winners and do the needful.
But I haven't received enough responses yet and so am not clear whether to post a deadline or not.
I have hardly received 7 responses. I was expecting quite more than this. May be the senior members are not involving so that they can give chances to the new comers (atleast take the quiz and then may be pass on the reward to somebody else or to our group).
I would request all the new comers and the senior members to take the quiz.
4711  Local / India / Re: Cyptocurrency not banned in India on: February 25, 2020, 03:01:27 PM
Ohh, yes in India Police can trace the victim, but most of them were having accounts with overseas and Crypto is not yet legal in India. Did they solved any problem until today?
Presently people here using a different username how could they solve, does the forum owner offer our IP's to the police? also at this time we have dynamic Ip's.

I am getting some sms daily for investing into them, do they can solve this problem?
This is private forum, anyone can create new account and start post anything if they want even scams are not moderated here so if ou got scammed by someone from this forum then no one can help you.

what kind of sms you are getting, can you tell us more detail to know whether its a scam or legit kind of investment.
Ok, This is very crap forum with more double accounts here.
I am getting some SMS like Your loan was approved click the link to get the money.
You got some money and please click the link to get them in banks.

These type of sms "I am getting and I want to stop them.
How are the SMS related to this forum bud ?
Almost everybody receive those spam SMS. All you got to do is report it as spam and block the sender  Grin

Also, theymos will never give up forum data including IPs to any government including the FBI.
This is the reason why most people including myself trust theymos.

Double accounts as you say it, known as alt accounts here, are not restricted until you don't break the forum rules.
It's definitely not a crappy forum bud since it has changed the lives of many people including myself.
This forum has immense knowledge and job opportunities to many people, again including myself.

You just gotta know how to use the forum for your own benefits. Find below the rules thread and other threads which might help you use the forum in a better way if you opt to.
Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ
Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?)
FAQ: Everything you need to know about forum 'activity, account ranks and merit

P.S: I am not criticizing you for anything. I just want to help you in changing your opinion about the forum since it is way beyond what you think about it.
4712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why we have slow steps about convincing governments to accept bitcoin? on: February 24, 2020, 03:37:49 PM
Big things take time.
It has been a decade already since the launch of bitcoin yet many countries have still not accepted bitcoin.
But did that stop bitcoin from growing more ?
Whether or not Binance is operating from Malta or not is a different thing but the governments will have to deal with the crypto situation some day.
Crypto is here to say and the governments will just have to adjust with it by regulating it.
It will take time but it will happen.
4713  Economy / Speculation / Re: Interesting fact: When Bitcoin reaches $100 000... on: February 24, 2020, 03:25:12 PM
I am a bitcoin fanboy and I love it. I am sure bitcoin has great potential and will boom the crypto industry some day.
Though bitcoin has great potential, I think it will struggle to be a globally accepted currency since online payment methods such as credit cards provide more number of transactions in a second.
Obviously there are many other factors to consider as well but what I am saying is that in future there will be other cryptocurrencies which will be more decentralized and better than bitcoin.
For now, bitcoin is inspiring many others and hence its price is increasing steadily over the years.
Bitcoin has full capability of reaching $100,000 but will have to face many hurdles before it achieves the target.
4714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help with building a guide(unique for every country)on buying/selling practices on: February 24, 2020, 02:45:11 PM
About 6 months ago I decided to create an easy-to-use learning resource to help point people in the right direction to understand different topics on Bitcoin. This ranges from mining, wallets, BTMs, and different exchanges. The website is called www.bitrawr.com

Some of the feedback I've gotten back is that many of the countries don't actually have the most popular or recommended exchanges' for buying and selling Bitcoin.

I've tried my best to research some of the best Bitcoin starting points in countries like South Korea, India, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina (from reviews, bitcointalk threads, forums, etc) and would like to know if someone could help, mostly in listing the most popular, safe, and reputable exchanges for countries.

There is a lot of differing information out there and I think it'd be beneficial for a lot of new people just getting started or interested in Bitcoin.
You have forgot the two most important exchanges in India.
WazirX and Zebpay are the most important exchanges in India. Although Zebpay left India and is no more making any trades, it has announced to make a come back in India.
Though it has mentioned to start the exchange in India soon, it has not made any announcements on fiat trading.
Anyway, I believe you should add WazirX in your list since most of the Indians use WazirX to deal with fiat trading.
4715  Local / India / Re: Play Quiz and Win BTC - Take the quiz now on: February 24, 2020, 01:50:18 PM
allahabadi, webtricks and akhjob responded before me and it was fun answering those and i hope everyone try this fun quiz and i hope my mail ID will be safe with you @OP as i do not want any advertisement in my mail.
If i am the lucky winner the winning funds should be deposited to the GREAT INDIAN LOTTERY conducted by Heisenberg_Hunter.

^ Email? I didn't see any field requesting email address. I believe only BTT username was asked apart from the Blockchain related questions.
You need to log in with your Mail ID to fill up the quiz.

I don't think OP can see that mail list, only Google can see it... That's what I think it is...

P.s. Earlier OP was explicitly adding for email id, which he then changed to Bitcointalk ID
Yeah, I am unable to see the email addresses. I guess only Google is able to see those addresses.
Thanks @allahabadi for the suggestion to remove email addresses.
4716  Local / India / Re: Play Quiz and Win BTC - Take the quiz now on: February 23, 2020, 12:34:01 PM
Please collect BTCtalk ID only, not email addresses.
U can mail them on the platform itself

Edit: Done with the quiz Grin
Updated the form.
No more email addresses. Fill in your bitcointalk account name in the form.
Please take the quiz again and leave your feedback here.

Really enlightened after the quiz, also eagerly waiting for the answers. A small criticism that I wud make is that the quiz tended to be on the nerdy side. Wish we cud add some fun trivia too, like a question on Slaying of the BTC whale art.

Also slangs such as HODL and der origin  Grin

Just a few suggestions from my side.
Yeah I was kinda worried for the quiz not to be too easy. I just tried my best on selecting the questions for the quiz.
Thanks for the feedback though. I will keep it in mind and try to add some fun questions the next time.
4717  Local / India / Re: Play Quiz and Win BTC - Take the quiz now on: February 23, 2020, 12:04:54 PM

4718  Local / India / Play Quiz and Win BTC - Take the quiz now on: February 23, 2020, 12:00:36 PM
Hi guyz,

As discussed earlier I have made a short quiz with 10 questions and the one who answers all the questions or most of the questions correctly will receive 0.0005 BTC as a reward.
It's a fun activity to increase the board activity and test your knowledge on blockchain and cryptocurrencies. I will request everybody to take the quiz not only for the reward but for the Indian Sub.

Take the quiz here:
https://forms.gle/vTJWAY7y39xeK4LG7

Note:
  • Do not use google as this is just a normal quiz to encourage new users join the forum. Don't spoil the fun using google.
  • The top two people to answer all or most of the questions correctly will be selected as winners.
  • Enter your bitcointalk account name or profile link in the quiz form correctly to receive the reward.
  • Winners will have to post their BTC addresses when asked for to receive the reward.

This is my first time organizing such a thing. Kindly bare with me for any mistakes.
Feedback and suggestions on the quiz are welcome.
4719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reason behind ALTCOINS not bouncing Back on: February 23, 2020, 06:47:06 AM
According to me the most obvious reason why altcoins don't steadily increase in price is because most of the investors in altcoin are speculators and not genuine investors who actually believe in the coin.
If a person genuinely believes in a coin then he will hold that coin for a long term no matter how much it decreases in price. I love bitcoin and ether and that's why I am holding them from a long time no matter how much times it has decreased in price.
Speculators on the other hand, dump the coin as soon as their profits are obtained or their stop loss is met.
I think this is the reason why most altcoins get dumped in the market.
4720  Local / India / Re: Play Quiz and Win BTC on: February 23, 2020, 06:26:00 AM
I LOVEEEEE quizzes, when do we start ??

Also can we have real time quiz on some site or TG channel ??
I was gonna post the link to the quiz this morning but there is a powercut since this morning and hence I am not able to operate my PC. I will do it this evening assuming the powercut is over by that time.

Real time quiz is a good idea but would good number of active people in the forum/telegram group.
We can have a discussion on this topic some time later and lets see where he conclusion leads us.
