4721  Economy / Services / BTCTalkers Posters' Guild on: September 17, 2014, 02:20:17 AM
I'm looking to build a team of reliable content posters that can maintain 150-200+ legit posts per month. This is totally new around here and am looking to see if there's any interest in building a team of knowledgeable and fairly ubiquitous posters that can take signature contracts (as a guild) from advertising upstarts or current campaigners interested in constant prestigious and reputable posters promoting their brand. As we build a top shelf team of posters, up to 25 of the best to start, we'll make ourselves available to contract on a weekly/ bi-weekly or monthly basis to those said advertisers looking for the most active and unique sellers of meaningful content. No personal violations on one's record to join and the contracts can be decided by majority vote here before one is taken.

To maintain membership in this guild, one has to fulfill their collective terms of whatever contract we roll with during its inception until its conclusion. This guild will accept Full Members on up to start and our contract pricing will be in tune w/ what the market will bear except that this squad will feature heretofore quality names of fairly renowned posting history in recent times to nail down as big of a contract as we can. Considering some quality posters are currently indisposed w/ their own campaigns right now I'm thinking of making a window of signup opportunity so they can handle their own current commitments and free flow into guild membership. There will be no membership fee to start and their may never be one unless the demand to join becomes overwhelming down the line as things get fired up.

Interested parties can chime in on other guidelines that may be deemed helpful for such an entity. We can also discuss timelines for entry and brainstorm other related ideas to make the biggest impact. We'll probably need a logo at some point. The vetting process shall be determined by the first handful of Founding Fathers (PM me w/ interest for this, must be Senior or above). Once our brand is ironclad (after first contract or two's feedback) I envision getting paid contracts up front which will be meaningless to advertisers considering all guild participants will have to keep up their performance to maintain membership. As time moves forward on this forum dedicated to Bitcoin, lots of upstarts in the related peripheral world of Bitcoin will be seeking our promotion services and we'll be able to create a tier level of guild membership into different groups that can fetch different prices and determine which BTC related advertising business here gains traction faster.

Thoughts, feedback, brainstorming can commence. Trolling isn't welcome.

4722  Economy / Services / Re: https://www.polminers.com Signature Campaign - High Payments on: September 17, 2014, 01:25:09 AM
What's the deal here? If you're serious about offering .25 a month you'll get plenty of seniors and above to post good content to promo your link, me included. I'm available as of tomorrow evening so I'll be checking back here and hope to see you meeting us halfway on a payment plan since you're new. For instance, pay up front for the first week .08 and create some trust week by week if you're not going to escrow. I'd make up your mind fast because many serial content posters (ie: those that will more than get your name out there) are looking for new campaigns and have worthy enough names and post histories here that could write their own tickets to a certain extent.

I minored in private investigation in college and am interested in what this could offer as a refresher course. Does this .15 get one a login on a website that has this info or do you send us a pdf of the content or what?

Likely, a major contributing factor to the downtrend in price I'm sure. The only thing I think of when I hear of Bangladesh is Tigers. Ironically, I'm watching the Tigers play baseball right now.

Yeah, we've come a long way in the last year and a half so the newer folks around here have been spared the darker days preceding that period. Of course, I was spared the days of being able to buy at low single digits so it all works out. Tongue
4726  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Scottish Independence May Be Coming Soon on: September 16, 2014, 07:32:43 PM
On a matter as time sensitive as this, the old folks should not vote at all. Let the younger generations have their say in what kind of world they will live in for the rest of their lives. The older generation is directly responsible for what ails much of society today. Yes, I'm playing generation politics here which is unfair and discriminatory but I don't care.

Rand Paul Praises the Free State Project

Quote
Rand Paul recently spent a couple days in New Hampshire, attending and speaking at various events. He was the headliner at the New Hampshire Republican Party Unity Breakfast, a rally at the largest university in the state, and a Generation Opportunity event in Manchester. At the GenOpp event, Rand was asked about the Free State Project. Needless to say, Rand’s answer was friendly. He associated the Free State Project with freedom and liberty, saying that was a good thing. The room cheered his answer. Then he made a joke about maybe some free staters being in the room. Rand’s father, Ron Paul, endorsed the Free State Project and event spoke at events put on by the Free State Project.

Rand Paul speaks about the Free State Project as Evan Feinberg, the Generation Opportunity President, scans the excited crowd.

A couple days after Rand left New Hampshire, a new CNN poll about the 2016 New Hampshire Republican Primary came out. The poll shows Rand leading his nearest Republican competitor by 50%. He leads the Republican field with Independents by over 100%. Rand also leads the field with conservatives and people that attended college.

Rand Paul attacked by mainstream media: liberals are running scared
Quote
By Eric Bolling

Liberals are worried…. (and they should be). You can smell it in the air, the conservative wave is around the corner.

The liberal media and the Democratic National Committee are up in arms against several of the GOP's top candidates.

Monday, a Washington Post hatchet piece attacked the leading Liberty Conservative in politics: Kentucky Senator Rand Paul.

To my conservative friends, who believe every bad story written, even about their own allies, please think twice and proceed with caution.

Most of us know that the appearance of conservative hit pieces escalates as the left perceives the threat level. It appears, the threat level is flashing big and red.

Conservatives like Rand Paul are serious. They are getting the message across, that conservative and libertarian ideas are a threat to the Big Government left.

CNN has been losing ground in the news world for years now so my guess is this is a desperate attempt to snag viewers out of bitcoinland and not much else. However, if doing so forces them to roll the BTC ticker in the faces of what's left of their audience then so be it. Grin
4730  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA Ranks #32 in World Taxing Policy Index on: September 16, 2014, 06:48:43 PM
Here is the comparison between Russia and the United States:

Income tax: 13% in Russia & 39.6% in the United States
Corporate tax: 15.5% to 20% in Russia & 38% in the United States
Dividend tax: 9% in Russia & 28.6% in the US (State + Federal)
Short term capital gains tax: 13% in Russia & 39.6% in the United States
Long term capital gains tax: 0% in Russia & 20% in the United States

The socialist left has been trying to do everything they can to depress the United States into some stagnant and declining 2nd rate country for years now. NAFTA started the bon voyage of middle class jobs elsewhere and these tax rates are finishing off the rest of the productivity. Will Americans start to see/get the big picture here and make a move or just let the titanic go down?
4731  Other / Politics & Society / Re: North Korea Jails US Citizen to 6 Yrs Hard Labor on: September 16, 2014, 06:43:11 PM
I've long said that the radical progressives here in the US should have to spend 6 months in the DPRK and really see how life is like before they're allowed to flip the tables and continue to advocate for bringing more of that insanity back here. Certain elements of Occupy Wall street and many of the dirtball commies that had a blast hanging out and protesting in the streets here for their ideal version of socialist life would get thrown in the gulags over in DPRK and get minimal food while working 16 hour days in hell.
4732  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Get off the stage on: September 16, 2014, 04:34:07 AM
That's a nice and thoughtful narrative you've given and I've heard it many times before. Voting to some is a means of self defense but i terms of finances I like the idea of getting off the stage if one has the means. However, being one of the many that vote on election is relatively meaningless but if you're an elected republican party delegate as I am you have a lot more persuasion power w/ your elected officials and the candidates running that need your support. Furthermore, at state conventions you have more say in the direction the party is taking than merely being one of the voting public. People should look into becoming delegates in their party (major) of choosing.

Good one!! And very bullish too. Grin
4735  Other / Politics & Society / Study: Humans Naturally Follow Crowd Behavior on: September 15, 2014, 08:10:09 PM
Our sensitivity to crowds operates in a remarkably swift and automatic way

Quote
It happened last Sunday at football stadiums around the country. Suddenly, 50,000 individuals became a single unit, almost a single mind, focused intently on what was happening on the field—that particular touchdown grab or dive into the end zone. Somehow, virtually simultaneously, each of those 50,000 people tuned into what the other 49,999 were looking at.

Becoming part of a crowd can be exhilarating or terrifying: The same mechanisms that make people fans can just as easily make them fanatics. And throughout human history we have constructed institutions that provide that dangerous, enthralling thrill. The Coliseum that hosts my local Oakland Raiders is, after all, just a modern knockoff of the massive theater that housed Roman crowds cheering their favorite gladiators 2,000 years ago.

(For Oakland fans, like my family, it's particularly clear that participating in the Raider Nation is responsible for much of the games' appeal—it certainly isn't the generally pathetic football.)

In fact, recent studies suggest that our sensitivity to crowds is built into our perceptual system and operates in a remarkably swift and automatic way. In a 2012 paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, A.C. Gallup, then at Princeton University, and colleagues looked at the crowds that gather in shopping centers and train stations.

In one study, a few ringers simply joined the crowd and stared up at a spot in the sky for 60 seconds. Then the researchers recorded and analyzed the movements of the people around them. The scientists found that within seconds hundreds of people coordinated their attention in a highly systematic way. People consistently stopped to look toward exactly the same spot as the ringers.

The number of ringers ranged from one to 15. People turn out to be very sensitive to how many other people are looking at something, as well as to where they look. Individuals were much more likely to follow the gaze of several people than just a few, so there was a cascade of looking as more people joined in.

In a new study in Psychological Science, Timothy Sweeny at the University of Denver and David Whitney at the University of California, Berkeley, looked at the mechanisms that let us follow a crowd in this way. They showed people a set of four faces, each looking in a slightly different direction. Then the researchers asked people to indicate where the whole group was looking (the observers had to swivel the eyes on a face on a computer screen to match the direction of the group).

4736  Other / Politics & Society / USA Ranks #32 in World Taxing Policy Index on: September 15, 2014, 08:05:55 PM
Probably a not totally accurate title but the article says a lot considering most people think of the USA as the freest of the free on most things.

Any day now the White House and Sen. Charles Schumer (D., N.Y.) will attempt to raise taxes on business, while making the U.S. tax code even more complex. The Obama and Schumer plans to punish businesses for moving their legal domicile overseas will arrive even as a new international ranking shows that the U.S. tax burden on business is close to the worst in the industrialized world. Way to go, Washington.

On Monday the Tax Foundation, which manages the widely followed State Business Tax Climate Index, will launch a new global benchmark, the International Tax Competitiveness Index. According to the foundation, the new index measures "the extent to which a country's tax system adheres to two important principles of tax policy: competitiveness and neutrality."

A competitive tax code is one that limits the taxation of businesses and investment. Since capital is mobile and businesses can choose where to invest, tax rates that are too high "drive investment elsewhere, leading to slower economic growth," as the Tax Foundation puts it.

By neutrality the foundation means "a tax code that seeks to raise the most revenue with the fewest economic distortions. This means that it doesn't favor consumption over saving, as happens with capital gains and dividends taxes, estate taxes, and high progressive income taxes. This also means no targeted tax breaks for businesses for specific business activities." Crony capitalism that rewards the likes of green energy with lower tax bills while imposing higher bills on other firms is political arbitrage that misallocates capital and reduces economic growth.

The index takes into account more than 40 tax policy variables. And the inaugural ranking puts the U.S. at 32nd out of 34 industrialized countries in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

With the developed world's highest corporate tax rate at over 39% including state levies, plus a rare demand that money earned overseas should be taxed as if it were earned domestically, the U.S. is almost in a class by itself. It ranks just behind Spain and Italy, of all economic humiliations. America did beat Portugal and France, which is currently run by an avowed socialist.

This kinda goes hand in hand w/ my thread on Americans getting poorer.

46,496,145: Food Stamp Recipients Can Fill Yankee Stadium 925 Times

Quote
In June 2014, there were 46,496,145 recipients of the food stamp program, which is enough to fill the Yankee Stadium 925 times, according to data from the Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The Yankee Stadium is equipped to hold 50,291 persons, meaning that the 46,496,145 Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients in June 2014 could fill the stadium 925 times.  The number of recipients was up 270,999 since the previous month in May 2014 when there were 46,225,146 individuals participating in the program.

Similarly, the number of households participating in the SNAP program has increased as well from the 22,590,393 participating in May 2014 to the 22,713,934 participating in June 2014, an increase of 123,541 households.

And, that^ jump happened in just a month.

British PM heads to Scotland hoping to boost 'No' vote

Quote
Edinburgh (AFP) - British Prime Minister David Cameron on Monday makes his last visit to Scotland ahead of this week's independence referendum, hoping to boost the "No" vote, with polls predicting a very tight race.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II reportedly made her first comment on the referendum.

British media said the 88-year-old monarch told an onlooker after attending church near her Balmoral estate in the Scottish Highlands on Sunday: "Well, I hope people will think very carefully about the future."

4739  Other / Politics & Society / CDC issues Ebola checklist: 'Now is the time to prepare' on: September 15, 2014, 07:51:13 PM
Aka: Center for Disease Spreading has a new PSA available.

Quote
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, warning hospitals and doctors that “now is the time to prepare,” has issued a six-page Ebola “checklist” to help healthcare workers quickly determine if patients are infected.

While the CDC does not believe that there are new cases of Ebola in the United States, the assumption in the checklist is that it is only a matter of time before the virus hits home.

For example, one part reads: “Encourage healthcare personnel to use a ‘buddy system’ when caring for patients.” Another recommends a process to report cases to top officials:

Plan for regular situational briefs for decision-makers, including:

-- Suspected and confirmed EVD patients who have been identified and reported to public health authorities.

-- Isolation, quarantine and exposure reports.

-- Supplies and logistical challenges.

-- Personnel status, and policy decisions on contingency plans and staffing.

The checklist has been distributed to major hospitals and even little ones, including an urgent center in Leesburg, Va.

“Every hospital should ensure that it can detect a patient with Ebola, protect healthcare workers so they can safely care for the patient, and respond in a coordinated fashion,” warns the CDC.

“While we are not aware of any domestic Ebola Virus Disease cases (other than two American citizens who were medically evacuated to the United States), now is the time to prepare, as it is possible that individuals with EVD in West Africa may travel to the United States, exhibit signs and symptoms of EVD, and present to facilities,” it adds.

The legalization movement will keep trending and we'll see medical mj everywhere w/i 5-7 years. You'll still have your hardline republicans that will keep their heels dug in but I see the party shaping more into what Rand Paul is looking for, at least on this particular issue. I bet the marijuana industry keeps rising exponentially as Bitcoin has and will continue to do. Cannabis does for the mind and soul what Bitcoin does for your finances. That said, I have no personal use for cannibas other than to potentially invest in future operations as it will be the cash crop.
