4721  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: July 05, 2022, 04:35:15 PM
<Snip>
You should have checked the table in OP or the latest updates I made in the thread. Crashino and FoggyStar are already included in the first post. The other recommendations aren't.

So you can't get the deposit address if the account is not verified?
No, I can't. A popup asks me to go through KYC verification and if I close it, the Bitcoin deposit button can't be clicked on.
4722  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Coinplate Steel Seed Phrase Saver on: July 05, 2022, 10:51:09 AM
Wow; first thought: that's a lot of money for steel backup plates!
He might have ordered a 3-Pack or a 5-Pack, hence the price. The company sells 3 different type of products priced between €62 and €76. A 5-Pack costs €263 for the most expensive plate. But the website also says that if offers free shipping at that price. Agbe is from Nigeria I think. Not sure why he was asked to pay another $50 for shipping. Standard shipping to Nigeria is €19 for one metal steel plate.

Seed and passphrase should not be on the same backup anyway, because in my opinion the goal of protection with an additional word is to make seed completely useless in case someone finds it. In my opinion, this field is completely unnecessary and may even lead people in the wrong step.
Good point. I didn't even consider that when I wrote that post you quoted. You are absolutely right, it shouldn't be there at all!
4723  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit SCAMMED MY 6500 USD on: July 05, 2022, 10:13:34 AM
1xBit is a terrible site with an awful gambling reputation that you can easily find by doing some research on this forum. Since you are brand-new, you are probably not aware of it. I wish you found this forum before you decided to deposit to their casino. Btw, how did you find it just now and not before?

On 3rd of June, 11:00pm UTC i created an account and got my id (several numbers as usual) and created my passport.
This part of your post is a bit confusing to me. What do you mean you got an ID made up of several numbers as usual? What does "as usual" mean? Have you ever registered an account with 1xBit in the past?
4724  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Dabs #54791 is a habituated PM-beggar, doing public “charity” and escrow. on: July 05, 2022, 10:01:01 AM
Ok, so all this began two years ago, right? During that time, Dabs has continued to provide escrow services and collecting money for charities. Has there been one case or accusation in these 2 years where he has stolen money or misused the community's trust and ran away with money that doesn't belong to him? If the answer to these questions is no, I wouldn't worry about Dabs being an untrustworthy individual if his reputation has remained spotless since that begging took place.

I drink my coffee without sugar and with just a little bit of milk, thanks. Grin
I might as well advertise your services since no one else is interested. I like the avatar n0nce is wearing. Can you send me a link to it if you have it somewhere? If not, I will take one of the two from the top.
4726  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: July 05, 2022, 09:37:31 AM
Although BCH.games support Bitcoin deposits, but they don't support the withdrawal in BTC. The situation is similar to the BK8 casino. I remember, I had suggested about the BK8 casino here, but OP hasn't added them in the list as they don't allow to make withdrawal in BTC. This table only contains the withdrawal information of Bitcoin. Perhaps, BCH.games won't be added in the list unless they implement Bitcoin withdrawal system.
That's correct. According to what I can see on the withdrawal page, BCH.games still only allow withdrawals to be made in Bitcoin Cash and not in Bitcoin. I remember I asked them about when they were planning to introduce BTC withdrawal as well, and they said it would be added sometimes in the future. Since that time hasn't come yet, I will not mention them in this thread.

BK8, similarly to their re-brand Maverick Games requires KYC before you can use the site normally. BK8 asked for personal information during the registration process. Maverick Games allows you to skip the steps of verifying your identity, but as soon as you want to deposit, you will be told you have to do KYC. I don't remember the specifics why I turned BK8 down, but it had a lot to do with the fact that I couldn't get in without undergoing KYC.
4727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin address re-usage can lead to theft of private keys on: July 04, 2022, 06:46:03 PM
Addresses can be reused in different ways.
For example, I can send the same address to Person A, B, and C if they need to send me Bitcoin. The address has been re-used. At most, that's a privacy concern. But even if the address was used 3 times, the public key is never revealed if I don't spend the coins. You wouldn't be able to crack my private key with my public key (even if you could) because there is no record of it yet. Only if I spend the coins from my receiving address by signing a transaction, my public key will be recorded on the blockchain and then you can attempt to crack it. According to experts, we are decades away from such a scenario.
4728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best time of the day to buy Bitcoin on: July 04, 2022, 06:26:34 PM
Bitcoin is such a volatile asset that it doesn't matter if you buy it for $19.200 or $19.600. In one month from now, Bitcoin can easily be at $30.000 or $40.000 or it can drop to $10.000. If that happens, does it matter much if you bought at $19.200 or $19.600? Investing in Bitcoin pays off long-term. It's purchasing power will go up in contrast to fiat.
4729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is -not- "still in its infancy" on: July 04, 2022, 05:17:26 PM
I agree with DooMAD that the technology shouldn't be considered to be in its infancy. The system works, it's not perfect, but it does what it's supposed to do and works as advertised. When it comes to adoption, Bitcoin still has a big mountain to climb. It's advancing nicely, but I would consider it fully matured when I find myself in a situation where I can offer any merchant in any country Bitcoin and he would be happy to accept it the same way they do with cash today.
4730  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Hacking a Samsung S3 to recover a Bitcoin wallet on: July 04, 2022, 04:59:16 PM
This was interesting video to watch but spoiler alert, ending was very disappointing and title was again just a clickbait commercial self-advertisement campaign from Kingpin.
I guess he earns a living like this so I can understand him, but why saying fake $6 million number in the title  Tongue
The ending was disappointing because of the recovered amount, but the steps that led to the coin recovery would be the same no matter the balance of the wallet. The $6 million number is partially a clickbait since he wants people to watch the video. No one would watch a hacking video titled how I hacked a Samsung phone and recovered $80 in Bitcoin. But the other reason for the title might have to do with the information he was given by the owner who believed that he had enough coins to be considered a millionaire. We saw how that worked out.
4731  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be safe from Hackers on: July 04, 2022, 09:30:59 AM
I can't help but laugh at this. The British Army minting their own NFT collection and giving away free Bitcoin through Bitcoin doublers. They should have posted a fake "join the army" campaign and promised 1 BTC for all new recruits. I wonder how many would have signed up. Data harvesting at its best.

No matter who promises to give your free money, they are lying. If you think like that, you can't fall for any kind of online scams.
4732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most of us have lived a world of USD dominance, but history changes on: July 04, 2022, 09:18:13 AM
People are too optimistic about Bitcoin becoming the world's leading currency one day. I don't see it. "They" won't let it happen. They can be anything you want. The world's leading nations, the elites, the bankers, the financial giants... It's not in their interest for you to be self-dependent and free. You should only think you are by voluntarily giving away your freedoms bit by bit. If you think who cares what they say, you are wrong.

We can't even win the battle against whether or not you want to get the COVID shot or not. Rights guaranteed by the constitution are a joke as the last two years have proven. You have the right to listen to what you are being told and do as we say or be limited and oppressed in the ways we want.
4733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POS VS POW effect on valuation of bitcoin on: July 04, 2022, 09:00:59 AM
You can cheat the system with no punishment. See "Nothing-at-stake problem"
I am sure that's true for some POS coins, but not all of them. I know that some have different slashing mechanisms where stakers and validators will lose part of their stake if they act maliciously. Since it's not in their interest to lose money, the slashing feature forces them to do the right thing.

It's incredibly easy for, say an exchange's hacker, to steal the system's units and stake them for their benefit.
Are you talking about a validator (exchange or private entity) stealing the tokens from the pool and staking them in their own name? That's always a possibility when the coins are not under your control, sure.
4734  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Hacking a Samsung S3 to recover a Bitcoin wallet on: July 04, 2022, 08:45:01 AM
<Snip>
I am not sure how accurate this information is, but judging by the source, Samsung S3s aren't using data encryption by default. But they do have encryption software built in that allows users to encrypt user data and the content on SD cards. The owner of the S3 in the video surely didn't use these security features, which allowed Joe to copy all the data in unencrypted form.
4735  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: July 04, 2022, 08:37:21 AM
Not sure about that because  admin made an official statement in the thread, as we know they are quite honest and transparent based on their history
Indeed KYC can be applied in some cases, the same is true for other casinos , If in fact you get different treatment it's beyond my expectation.
I can't comment on their honesty and transparency, but that post they made is either outdated and things have changed in the meantime, or it's complete rubbish. As soon as you log in from a newly created account, the casino prompts you to verify your identity. You don't have to do it and you can close the window, but you can't deposit to your account without going through KYC first. The Bitcoin button on the screenshot is unclickable because my account isn't verified.

I was about to correct you on this because the figures were different from their TOS but it turns out you were correct.
I don't look for the correct information from TOS or FAQ pages. I open the payments tab and check the withdrawal data myself. Most casinos mention the amounts during the withdrawal process. TOS can be wrong and outdated as you noticed yourself.
4736  Other / Meta / Re: What Would Be Your Reason to Leave Bitcointalk? on: July 04, 2022, 08:25:38 AM
I don't remember closing the poll. Is it not possible to vote any longer? I can see a "Lock Voting" button on my end. To me, that suggests that voting is still possible, otherwise that button wouldn't be there. I have not created many polls so I am not really sure how they work and my thinking could be wrong.
4737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POS VS POW effect on valuation of bitcoin on: July 03, 2022, 07:22:02 PM
Proof of Stake is in my opinion an unfair mechanism where the Rich are in advantage over the poor, which is precisely one of the reasons I am currently in progress of removing Fiat out of my life.
Putting the security of the network and the centralization aside when it comes to POS, how are the rich not in a favorable position over the poor in Bitcoin as well? In mining, for example. Do I have a chance to mine a block with my poor man's computer when I am competing against mining farms that have tens and hundreds of thousands of ASICS? Unlikely. So what do I need to improve my chances? Expensive hardware that costs money. Me being the poor bastard I am from a third world country can't afford it. That's how those with more resources will always dominate the ones that have not much to spend.
4738  Economy / Gambling / Re: List Of Crypto Casinos with The Best Faucets on: July 03, 2022, 06:46:32 PM
My understanding is, he is referring to the post link that is hyperlinked to the text '20 -50 times in a 12-hour period', because it states there that only 25 times/day can be claimed by those at iron1 and iron2 levels.
That's not what it says. It says that you can claim a minimum of 25 coins for the lowest rank and that is still accurate. I am looking at the information on Bitsler as I am writing this post. I can claim 25 coins up to 20 times in the next 12 hours. Maybe if I registered a new account using his referral link, that number would be 50 claims per day. Since I am not going to break the rules by posting referral links, nothing changes.

I just visited Bitsler again today and it has already changed, 50 claims per day are also now for the mentioned levels and at the starting or no level remains 20 claims/day.
Nothing has changed on my end. It's still 20 claims.
4739  Other / Meta / Re: Enforce “grammarly ” like score minimum to post.. on: July 03, 2022, 09:29:49 AM
Doesn't unhandled means that mods have not seen it yet and it will be handled shortly. But yeah i have these 5 unhandled for a long time now  Huh
It does at the moment when you make the report. As soon as you report a post to the mods, it's status is unhandled. But if the post remains as unhandled for days, weeks, and several months, the admins have seen it but don't agree with your report to delete the post. Consider your long standing unhandled reports as being partially bad. If they were good, the mods would have acted on them.
4740  Other / Meta / Re: Enforce “grammarly ” like score minimum to post.. on: July 03, 2022, 08:48:37 AM
Some kind of spell check like tool with a score..
No.

If your writing doesn’t score a 70% or whatever, it won’t let you post..
No

Could also help users LEARN English better/faster by forcing them to put effort into correcting their writing.
I don't think the approach should be to force people to do something the way I or we like it. I put a lot of effort into my posting. I am concerned about the grammar and spell-check everything. But if the person next to me doesn't want to do that or even wants to sound like an illiterate idiot, that's their call.

Would put a good dent in rapid posting shitposters too.. Almost even like a bot filter..
It would stop the average shitposter, but then again, the admins can stop them as well and not give them 100 attempts to better themselves. However, the forum doesn't want to be that restrictive.

Imagine if all the spam on this forum suddenly had to meet a grammar score standard, lmao..
It could possibly be revolutionary in posting quality improvement..
It might also prevent legit users who are terrible in English from posting and I wouldn't want that. I don't think we should measure someone's knowledge and interest in Bitcoin with how well they can write in English.
