4721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH GETTING DUMPED HARD!!!! on: March 15, 2016, 11:55:21 AM
You guys do realise that ETH is going through EXACTLY the same process BTC went through before it became #1? It went up, it went down, it had its supporters and its detractors then, BOOM, suddenly it's $1000.

evidence in support of this?
Erm look at the BTC graph and dig through the old BTC forum threads? Seriously, you can't even think to do this as basic research???

so you are also saying that ETH will need to drop down to sub $2 if it is to follow EXACTLY the same pathway as BTC?

If you are saying this then you can wrap up your campaign for now.

Straw man. I said it's going through exactly the same PROCESS. I didn't say it was plotting the EXACT same graph. As you well know.

Too late to bag some REP?

not if your EXACTLY (or is that ETHACTLY?) thesis on ETH is correct. at sub $2 REP prices will also drop.
You must have me confused with another poster as I've never published a thesis on ETH. But nice thread hijacking. I'm sure the OP appreciates your efforts.
4723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Uncharted Territory ....... ? on: March 15, 2016, 11:34:59 AM
BTC bag hodlers suffer from tunnel vision. They can see no other than BTC and its failed payment system. The community and dev quarrels and indecisiveness killed it.

Simple question : What if augur.net goes down or it's shut down ? If it's a decentralized app i should be able to use it right away somewhere else.

That's the idea. Unstoppable dapps without boarders or any controlling  authority beyond the Turing complete smart contract.

4728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never did I believe in a alt coin - but Ethereum on: March 15, 2016, 08:25:17 AM
OP a lot of others apparently feel the same way for exactly the same reasons.  Not sure I agree with you about bitcoin though.  Eth can coexist just fine with btc.
this is my belief too. ETH and BTC are not direct competitors but compliment each other. Shite like LTC were just cheap copies of BTC and brought nothing new to the table. I salute the OP for joining us on the Ethereum train. Next stop is the Moonship docking station.

4730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: March 14, 2016, 09:38:14 PM

HAHA egg on your face, no harm but the ethereum GUI looks better than Bitcoin core, which no harm looks like something from the 90's

Those of us who know something about computers use command line tools.
CLI Not good for widespread adoption though now is it, and that has to be Ethereums next target.

4735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth pump is just part of the ongoing coordinated attack on bitcoin.... on: March 14, 2016, 04:35:22 PM
I disagree about the genuine push for better. This is a money grab. This was born from the greed following the mastercoin ipo. The nxt ipo. The bitshares ipo. The counterparty ipo and the supernet ipo.

People like fucking money. Like to speculate and gamble.

But above all people like shiny objects. Vitalik made etherium seem really shiny, plus daddy is rich.

Crazy all these eth topics.   Don't agree here:  I think ether is a genuine push for something new and better but it can easily coexist with bitcoin, much like all the other coins do.  People will have their favorites but neither btc nor eth is going anywhere.
What the fucks his dad got to do with anything? Honestly some people are seriously screwed with jealously.

4737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik AMA on 8btc(14th Mar), why he learn Chinese? on: March 14, 2016, 04:20:16 PM
Vitalik is holding 550k ETH at the moment.
That's good to know that he has a stake in it being a success.
4738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik AMA on 8btc(14th Mar), why he learn Chinese? on: March 14, 2016, 04:16:43 PM
Vitalik is holding 550k ETH at the moment.

that is going to cause a serious issue in the future, if ethereum get big, basically we have a guy controlling it

so much for decentralization platform
550k of an ever-inflating currency is nothing. Right now there are about 5 times more ETH than there are BTC, and every year 20 more million are and will be created, ad vitam aeternam. Right now, 550k is 1/141 of the total ETH supply. Next year it will be 1/178, and so on and so forth.

Satoshi is rumored to hold more bitcoins, btw (about 1/21 of the total supply), and while there is a limited BTC supply, the ETH supply is unlimited.
Vitalik holds nothing. Right now his stack is worth $8,250,000 which is nothing. Even if ETH was worth $50 it would still be only $27,500,000. His dad has more than that in his bank account. That's nothing, especially for the man.
More FUD. It's capped at 90m as you well know sir.
4739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH GETTING DUMPED HARD!!!! on: March 14, 2016, 03:59:25 PM
The price just dropped 20% and is recovering now. So I am not concerned about the price action at all.
the price action is good and healthy like a normal functioning market the price goes up and down. It's naive to expect the price only to perpetually rise. ETH is an amazing technology and it's still cheap enough for the Ltc bag hodlers to jump in.
4740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin - getting stealth features this year? on: March 14, 2016, 03:41:17 PM
Whatever keeps the little Litecoin bag hodlers happy with their Noddy crypto.
