https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/4681667

4722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does 1MH/s more actually matter? on: February 08, 2021, 01:15:06 PM
Actually, it depends on your current electricity rate if the rate is cheap then you can push them more and it also depends on the temp of your GPUs.

Look at your cards temp 52C and 45C just confused about 82C. Is that the temp of 5700XT?

Below 70C temp is fine but more than that it can hurt your miner in the short-term.

About calculation how much you earn I suggest you use this https://whattomine.com/ to calculate the profit minus the Electricity rate.

82C is the temp of the memory on the 5700XT.  The card temp is 45C.  I'm far more concerned about the long-term health of the 3070.

I use that WhattoMine site all the time, but never thought to use it for the 1MH/s difference, thanks.

I guess my question is more of will that extra 1 or 2 MH/s make it easier to 'solve' blocks (or whatever) and lead to exponentially bigger profits, or is it just a linear thing where you get X amount of Eth for every extra 1MH/s?  So, is it worth bumping up the memory so much, or is 60MH/s good enough?
What hashrate to use depends only on the cost of electricity. You must answer this question yourself.
To do this, measure the electricity consumption from the wall with a wattmeter.
Sometimes increasing the hash rate by 2-3 megahash increases the power consumption by 10-15 watts.
I do not think that increasing the memory frequency will lead to a quick breakdown of the video card. My GTX 10x0 video cards have been working with a memory frequency of + 600 + 1000 for 4 years already and RTX 20x0 video cards have been mining with a similar memory overclocking.
4723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Choosing the right riser boards for RTX series on: February 08, 2021, 12:58:43 PM
Hello team,

I am getting a bit confused here.

3 years ago when I built my RX580 rig, I was researching what type of risers should i go with and I remember , that molex risers were considered as really bad risers and therefore I went with the 6pin ones.

Last December I decided to expand the operation and managed to get 4 x 3080s MSI videos cards and bought such riser boards :

https://ibb.co/wwXZgks

Now , as I am reading here and there, it seems that these are NOW considered hazardous, but yet again I found the following old thread

https://forum.zcashcommunity.com/t/risers-molex-vs-6-pin-pcie/16763

which states that molex risers are dangerous Cheesy

Could you, guys please advise what type of risers should I get for my RTX 3080s? The ones Im currently using are ver. 006c.

Also, links would be really appreciated!

THank you for you help in advance !

EDIT: I can get my hands on these MOLEX ones : https://ibb.co/2cD82b1
My GTX1080 video cards work with molex raisers. I do not use adapters included with the riser, but I connect the riser with a cable from the power supply. Consumption of the GTX1080 video card 150-160 watts. If your video card has a higher consumption, then you need to use 6 pin raises and connect them from the power supply. If you do everything correctly, then it is better to buy server power supplies that are made to order for mining and have the required number of connectors.
4724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gpu mining temperatures on: February 08, 2021, 12:48:16 PM
My vram on 3080's reach critical 110 then the speed drops down on all of them about 7-8mh/s, i keep my rig in a balcony with windows, its pretty warm in there, i open both windows and then it drops to 106-108 ish and the speed is back to normal, thing is outside its - 10 to - 18 during nights, can my gear get fucked up from that kind of cold? Cards indicate from 35 to 40 degrees at all times, fan speed is 100%, the balcony itself is pretty warm even with both windows open. Do i go with the balcony windows open or invest in another external fan directed straight at the backplate to cool down vram. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

If you had problems with the temperature of the GPU, then you can use an additional fan, and if the memory overheats, then you need to modify the cooling system.
Watch a video about replacing thermal pads with your video card model.
Gigabyte  videocards can mine well after replacing thermal pads.

But it's better to buy Palit 3080 GamingPro

I had a similar case. Ideally, ceramic rosettes are best.
But such problems arise from poor quality plugs, electrical outlets, or poor contact.
Miners advise you to assemble all devices yourself and tighten the contact attachments.
If you have a large consumption, then it is better to make such connections through circuit breakers of 10 amperes

4727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 4 x 3060ti build on: February 07, 2021, 12:58:21 PM
Hi all,

Have been mining way recently on my 1070 which I have owned for the last four years and usually sits most dormant in my PC (other than playing dota Wink)  Have recently taken to mining ETH with this again and have been enjoying doing so.  I've never gone hard on this previously, but decided to build a "small" mining rig (4 x 3060TIs).  I wondered if anyone could suggest what I might need?

Struggling most with the motherboard currently, any time I go to any of the online stores, they seem to have hundreds to choose from.  When I google a suitable motherboard for mining, I always seem to get motherboardds for 6 - 20 cards.  And often can't find these anyway.

Possible parts:
PSU - Corsair 1000W - https://www.umart.com.au/Corsair-RM1000x-1000W-Power-Supply-Fully-Modular-80-Plus-Gold_33434G.html
Seems to have enough 8 pin for the 3060 and 6 pin for the risers (that i'll also need).

Mobo - ?
CPU - any cheap one compatable with Mobo I assume
Ram - 4gb of cheap stuff
ssd - 64gb just to power windows?

Could anyone make a suggestion please of what parts to pair with the four 3060TIs? Am I missing anything? And is anyone replying happy to receive a DM with further questions?

Thanks guys
dryath
If you are planning to build a rig with more than 6 GPUs on board it will be better to buy motherboards with enough pcie slots like the Asrock H110 Pro BTC which supports up to 13 GPUs at once, also RYX3060Ti only consume 120 watts per gpu, why buy a 1000watts power for the GPUs ? That's like 480 watts for the 4 cards, a 750 watt power supply would do
The 750-watt power supply does not have enough 8-pin connectors to connect 4 video cards and less wires to connect the raisers. But it will turn out to connect each raiser with a separate wire.
A beginner should not build the first farm of 13 video cards, it is a huge pain when one or several video cards start to mine incorrectly

4729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 4 x 3060ti build on: February 07, 2021, 09:29:57 AM
you will need atleast 8gb of ram
Why use 8GB of RAM when 4GB is enough? 4 GB of memory is enough for Windows and Linux systems.

OP.
If you buy ssd, it is better to buy 128 GB.
But it's better to buy a flash drive for 8 or 16 GB and install linux mining os.

If you need a motherboard for 4 video cards and you want to buy the cheapest and easiest option, then buy a motherboard on the AM3 socket on the 970 chipset from a gigabyte (5 GPU), Asus and ASroсk (4 GPU)

ASRock 970 Extreme4
ASUS 970 PRO
GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P
4730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New build 3070's - need some assistance on: February 07, 2021, 09:19:15 AM
low virtual memory, i guess.
At first I also thought that the problem was the small size of virtual memory. But I often forgot to increase the size of the virtual memory before starting the miner in Windows.
As a result, I only had 1 or 2 video cards starting to mine cryptocurrencies. Other video cards showed a result of 0 MH.
I think the operating system should be changed.

UPD.

4732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Motherboard won't boot with two GPUs installed on: February 05, 2021, 02:24:15 PM
PCIe x1 slots are usually limited to 25 Watts, GPUs require 75W from the slot, always use powered risers.

Yup...usually with dells if you look at the mobo between the slots it will have printed what watt limit is for that slot.
What is this watt on MOBO looks like? All I can see here on the Dell motherboard is 1.5A/6V, I'm not sure if that is what you are talking about, anyways I've ordered for powered risers but it's going to take three weeks to get delivered to my door step, such a long time, now I have no choice but to keep mining with one card 😔
In your city, raisers are not sold in online stores or online markets of used goods?
All beginners are recommended to use time-tested motherboards, I wrote about inexpensive configurations here
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5313613.msg56250132#msg56250132
If you want to mine, then do your farm right.
I also started mining and farms of their unnecessary components, but then everything had to be redone

4733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asic LINZHI 2600 Mh/s on: February 04, 2021, 12:45:06 PM
One month pass, something new?
Did you calculate the profit from these ASICs? $ 345 per day without electricity bills.
I wouldn't sell such equipment now.
When the price of Ethereum falls, there will be a lot of mining equipment on the market.
4734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RAM and Mining Hashrates on: February 04, 2021, 12:40:12 PM
I have seen articles on the internet about mining monero.
When using a processor for mining, the best result was where the memory frequency is higher.
I don't think that on coins like Ethereum, memory frequency affects mining. I have DDR 3 with a frequency of 1333 and 1666, but I did not notice the difference in performance.
For 1 farm, 4 GU memory is enough for Ethereum.
4735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible that watts draw follows Temp? on: February 03, 2021, 03:42:28 PM

Try finding a bad riser on a 13 card rig that crashes the rig intermittently. 1 usb cable out of the 13 is bad and it does it on and off.

you lost the hash of 13 cards on and off till you find the problem.
I do not use more than 6 graphics cards in 1 farm.
The farm is much easier to maintain and all components are easy to sell as computer parts in the secondary market.
A large warehouse with good cooling will solve the problem of overheating of video cards, but if the miner does not have such a warehouse, then you have to use raisers
4736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any recommended guide to build a 6-rig GPU for a 1st time beginner? on: February 03, 2021, 02:37:51 PM
I don't know which country you are from but I build my own rig for nothing less than 2000 dollars, here is what I have in my mining rig, I buy 4x pieces of RX580 8gb 1800$ and spend the rest on complete desktop with five pcie slots, I already have power supply of 850 watts laying around before and I already have a monitor in my basement, you can get more cards if you go for used gpus but I prefer new cards for longer life span
RX580 8gb= 450$ Cry  it is a pain
I never would have thought that these video cards would cost so much

4737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gaming Laptops for Ethereum mining on: February 03, 2021, 02:31:22 PM
In fact, as shown in the picture, I'm just using the 3060 laptop to mining ETH. it can give about 45Mh/s within 62° and 85w.

It looks like pretty well.

BTW, this model is Hasee Z8-CA5NS. It only cost ¥6400(about $990) few days ago. So with the enough low temperature and watt, i think perhaps it's a good and safe choice to minine the ETH.

Nice buy. I think a 3060 graphics card in retail stores will be $ 800-900.
But I'm wondering what will happen to your laptop 1 year after mining.
How many months is your laptop warranty?
Have you measured your electricity consumption from the wall?
4738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible that watts draw follows Temp? on: February 03, 2021, 02:23:56 PM
And why don't you use raisers and mining farm cases to install video cards at a distance of 15 centimeters from each other?
With this arrangement, it is better to use reference video cards, and you have non-reference video cards on the video.
For such an arrangement of video cards, you will have to use an increased fan speed

"Taken together, 49,680 RTX 3000 GPUs were sold on both sites, raking in $61.5 million in sales. Driscoll estimates $15.2 million was made in profit for the scalpers while another $6.8 million went to eBay and StockX. “In the case of all four RTX 30 series, there was a sudden surge in sales between Christmas and shortly after the new year,” he said.

The pricing has also remained high despite the arrival of the RTX 3060 Ti, which normally retails for $399. “The 3060 went from 160 percent launch price 1/1/21 to now 210 percent launch price and has recently fallen down to 190 percent of launch price. The 3080 is a similar story, from 170 percent at Christmas to now 200 percent,” he added. "

You need to understand which price is adequate and which is not. If there are no good options, then sometimes it makes sense to wait
