4721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let`s say bitcoin replaces fiat. What happens? on: January 24, 2021, 11:05:54 PM
I can't imagine how the world would be if bitcoin will replace fiat.
What happen to the government then, they will print money which they can control, if bitcoin will replace fiat, then there will be no control, only the big holders can control the market by moving it and I doubt the government would allow that as they always want stability, hence fiat will stay.

Move it against what?
Have you forgotten that in your scenarios there is no more fiat, no more USD no more Euros?
So, against what will the whales move BTC up and down?

Imagine a world with only one currency, how could you manipulate the currency against something that exists no more, exactly what you're talking about happened to Greece when they couldn't devaluate their currency anymore and weren't able to print money to get out of it.

Moving it for the purpose of making profit, that's what I see and when that happen, the price dump, and when there's a hype, the price pump and that is not a good definition of stability. I believe in the potential of bitcoin but if we always see this kind of market movement, I doubt ordinary people would use bitcoin as a currency.

What I'm talking is currency is for payment system, it's suppose to be stable, bitcoin is not stable, hence I believe it's only good for investment now like protecting your money against inflation.

ADVANCE PICK>

Portland TrailBlazers vs New York Knicks.

Portland is now struggling due to injury, the previous game loss against the Spurs by 21 points makes me think that they will continue to struggle as they lose their 2 starters (McCollum and Nurkic), Knicks will probably win this game but if the opposite will happen, I think it will be a close game.

Pick : NYK +3.5 Good luck everyone!

I'm in on this one, Knicks have been playing really well recently, I watched them against Warriors and Celtics and they were pretty impressive.

Elsewhere, I'm going with Milwaukee Bucks -7.5 against Atalanta Hawks.

This is a good bet, Bucks have loss twice already but Hawks is not as good as the Nets and the LA Lakers so they might again get back on winning track with a dominant win. In their last meeting, Bucks won by 26 points so -7.5 is a good spread for Bucks.

We always want bitcoin to succeed, but not to the point that we will be unrealistic, bitcoin is good only as a substitute or alternative but not as a main currency.
4725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Paquiao VS Connor McGreggor? on: January 24, 2021, 11:54:46 AM
We don't know if Manny Pacquiao and his team are still interested on Conor as he lost to Justin Poirier via knock-out.

What do you guys think? Will it still create the needed hype even though Conor seems to be really out of shape, his power no longer there. And with this lost are fans still going to buy tickets or PPV because we all know that Conor will not win against a version of Manny?

Conor might think that his UFC journey is over and he will now focus on boxing.

Damn, that's what he get when he is too complacent, he focus on being superstar than improving himself as a fighter, now his popularity is slowly diminishing and I don't think he can still come back. This Paquiao vs McGreggor if it will happen will be a good way for him to earn millions but in UFC, i guess he will not be the favorites again after this lose.

I like to hear what Manny has to say about the result.
4726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Naoya Inoue vs Michael Dasmarinas (No date yet) on: January 24, 2021, 11:34:00 AM

Filipino fighters are dangerous, they'd repeatedly pulled an upset against boxing superstars. Fighters such as Pacquiao and Donaire, although Donaire got beaten by Inoue it was still an impressive fight despite his been out of his prime for a long time. Still Inoue is currently reigning in this weight class and incredibly skilled he'll probably quickly figure out Dasmariñas after 4 rounds.

Filipino fighters are known for their fighting heart but I don't think Dasmarinas fighting heart can get him to beat Inoue, the skill and power discrepancies are very relevant, Inoue is getting better in every fight that he is in, and this one is no different, I predict a knock out for Inoue because he is a very relentless fighter inside and outside.
Yep, I don't feel the confidence that Dasmarinas will win this fight, it's a 50/50. No, it probably, Inoue will have a higher chance to win this (if it will push through) as we saw his fighting experience as well. In fact, the defeat of Donarie means that Inoue really has the capability to fight hard puncher and best boxer in the ring.
This will be exciting to see, though and Pinoy fans will choose Dasma but for me, I will still choose Inoue.

The betting odds is not out yet but I believe Inoue will still be the heavy favorites in this fight.

Inoue was heavily favored to win when he fought Donaire and even in his last fight, even during the time when there was a rumor that he would fight casimero, there were betting lines in different article and Inoue was still heavily favored. We can understand and it's expected since Inoue is undefeated and he has a very high KO power.
4727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another insane win!! $ 1B mega million jackpot on: January 23, 2021, 11:46:33 PM
In the last few weeks Americans have been very lucky in the lottery, this time there is a man who won $ 1 billion dollars from the mega million lotteries.  The player also may select a one-time cash payment of about $739 million. If a player selects the cash option, they will receive about $530 million after tax withholdings."

the tax cut was huge but I sure it certainly wouldn't piss him off.  has anyone ever tried to play this and do you lucky?

The tax was really huge, in our country, lottery winning is free of tax, but who would complain if you win this amount, even half of $1 billion could already change the life of a person especially if he is struggling financially. What a lucky person, I never heard this kind of big winning before, probably the biggest win in lottery history.
4728  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦢 GooseBet.io 🦢 The Newest iGaming Dividend Casino With BTC, on: January 23, 2021, 11:33:06 PM

BTC price is quite high now and its no surprising that they can possible close anytime without telling anybody.

This is also the possibility I think of.  I know a site that goes scam already like https://livecoin.net/.. this is an exchange but it's no different since it's an online business. Maybe to those who are really concern of what is happening and have their funds stuck on the site, then make a scam accusation for the community to be aware.
4729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: January 22, 2021, 10:39:18 PM
the chance of predicting correctly the results of 2024 right now, imo is pure gambling.
a lot changes in 4 years in politics, and some of the candidates we can bet on right now may not even be on the elections when the time comes...
odds may seem attractive but I don't think it's worth it

would love to be proven wrong here.

That's correct, it's gambling because we never know what will come, and actually 4 years is too long, if Trump's satisfaction record has decline in less than a year before of the pandemic, it could also happen to anyone who are in the office now. Politics is also a big game, opposite parties will find a way to take destroy the reputation of their opponent and for a long period of time, that means they have a lot of time to find a way to do that.
4730  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: January 22, 2021, 10:22:22 PM
Bet for tomorrow Clippers -12.5 @1.86 vs Thunder, LA teams has been good to me lately so hindi ko sila bibitawan.

Good luck sa bet mo boss.

vs SAC   W 115 - 96
vs IND   W 129 - 96
@ SAC   W 138 - 100
4731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: January 21, 2021, 08:26:42 AM
Regarding the Nets big 3, they really played so well offensively like they usually do, but they lack depth, bench involvement to the game, and most specially the defense. They only got 10 bench points throughout this game.
I think that bench players couldn't take an active involvement in the game because Durant and Irving made half of the total amount of shots. Sure, Kyrie had a good performance with 53 percent, but he doesn't like to share the ball with teammates at all.

I have to agree with you, he has the most attempt with 28 attempts while the rest only has few. Compared to the Cleveland Cavaliers, they have 7 players who are in double digit, while only 5 for the nets, and they are all starters.  Maybe they'll learn from this huge mistake, they should get the bench to be involved more so they'll get the confidence necessary to contribute to the team.
4732  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: January 21, 2021, 08:02:03 AM
Pick for tomorrow:
Clippers -9.5 @1.91 vs Kings

Good mindset of him, we know that Pogoy is not a type of player that loves to shine only in the team, he is very humble and wants to help his team to win, and that's the reason why I believe Pogoy will soon be a champion. TNT should give him a max contract, I don't know his current salary now but if he will get signed again, I wish TNT will value his contribution like Castro.
4734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attention: Biden has officially won, make sure your sportsbook pay you. on: January 18, 2021, 03:30:04 PM
That really took a long time for the elections to come to an end. That Trump was also very stubborn. But on the other hand, it is also logical that he did not just want to resign from his presidency.
He doesn't want to be called a loser, maybe he has not expected that he will lose, so he is finding ways to delayed the proclamation but here we are, Biden was already proclaimed by the winner and that's the purpose of this thread, to inform us about the "official announcement".

I wonder if people bet a lot that Biden would win.

Biden was the favorite to win, that says that most bettors are rooting for Biden to win.

It seems Trump haven't moved on from what the election result has been posted on that's why he still protest on the result that have been announced. But he also should look back from the things he has done while he was the president of the US. And these might be the reason why the citizens of US wanted to have a new leader that would serve people and will listen to people. However, result have been made and proclamation of newly elected president Joe Biden were already scheduled then i bet the issue of the unclaimed prizes of winning bettors might be awarded to the winners.

According to some article I read, the trust rating of Trump only dropped when the pandemic happened, he was not able to make the right measures to minimize the spread of infection, and people does not like the way he handles it, so he lost in the election. There maybe other reasons but the pandemic should have a big impact on the outcome of the election.

Guys, I was thinking, with James Harden going to the Brooklyn Nets, do you think the team will be more competitive? They can beat the Lakers for example?

Until now, it seems to me that everything is going well, let's see how the team will fit in some time.
Yes.

They are upgraded with that roster but that doesn't mean that they can be assured of beating strong teams like the Lakers.

There chances has just increase in winning the championship, and we can verify that based on the odds for championship which they are currently at the number 2 now, lakers still at the number 1. Which means, Lakers are favorites in the West and Nets are in the East and if these two will meet, Nets will be the underdog,.. I'm sure some bettors would like that.
I see them on Eastern conference at the top 5 but they're not that much different from the top 1-4 standings.
You misunderstood me, what I'm talking is about the betting odds for the NBA Futures, not the current standing.

Here's the update betting odds _ https://www.vegasinsider.com/nba/odds/futures/

Some good news, which speaks of the seriousness of the project - by the end of the month there will be a listing on the mxc and bittrex exchanges. If I can't say anything about mxc (I don't use it), then bittrex, in my opinion, is a fairly good "indicator" for a project, confirming its seriousness.
But people don't like using Bittrex because of their KYC verifications I believe, even a top exchange like binance exchange make sure that non verified users can still trade and withdraw but with 24hrs limit on withdrawals, anyways MXC is great too, I just hope the price will be better then trading starts on these two exchanges

Bittrex was one of my favorite exchange in the past, but now they are so strict due to the regulatory requirement and I think that's the reason why they are losing clients. Bittrex has over $120 million trading volume _https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/bittrex/_.. but most of the coins that earn at least 1 million daily trading volume are top coins, therefore I don't expect Amepay to get a decent trading volume in this site.

Bitcoin made a new all-time high, So people moving their profit bitcoin to the altcoin. so why at altcoin I am very bullish. especially on the Defi project, People are very interested now in the Defi project. also at altcoin, people can easily gain 10x or more profit. So right now, Investment altcoin is very suitable to make some easy money. but don't forget to HOLD bitcoin a minimum of 50% of your total investment. because an altcoin is also very risky
I'm very much interested on De-Fi projects, but since you said about "people can easily gain 10x or more profit".. can you site an example of a De-Fi projects that has already made investors profitable that high?

Stanley Pringle deserves the BPC award.

He's the most consistent player in Ginebra in the bubble up to the Finals. We all see that. Others even consider him as the Finals MVP.

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/ginebra-s-stanley-pringle-named-pba-best-player-of-the-conference-a795-20210117

I agree on this one mate. We all saw who put water whenever the TNT is on fire in the finals.

The only thing i wonder is why Ray Parks who is the leader in SP didn't even make into the "Elite 5".
I guess it's based on the impact of the team? Instead of him, they get Poy Erram.. I'm really not sure of this one too.
Do they give the criteria of judging on this award?

I'm hoping Calvin will win here?

He did not won the BPC award but at least he is on the Elite 5, his only award aside from ROY if i'm not mistaken.

Calvin will eventually get an MVP award, I'm betting on him next season.. Hard because Fajardo will be coming back, but if Calvin will continue to play the kind of basketball he showed in the bubble, he has a big shot.
