 = fail!

As for the content of that doc, it actually seems kind-of bearish for Bitcoin. I tried really hard, but couldn't find any errors for them to fix. Smiley

I'm sorry, MNW, this damning report seems pretty legit to me.

I find it funny how he even confused reports that the FBI publishes to the general public with Unclassified/For Official Use Only reports...

... What a fail community. ...

Too bad the community didn't fail you when you came here 5 months ago asking for money in exchange for a magazine that still doesn't exist.

Hey, can any of you take one doubt I have, please?

Why do we need to use that patched bitcoind?
Doesn't the bitcoind at the ubuntu repos work? It's 0.3.24 the same as this one.

What are the differences?

Holy smokes!  Very interesting, what do you guys think?

rofl. It's on the internet so it must be true.

This is one of the ugliest/laziest trolls I've seen in a long time.

I wouldn't be so sure it's a troll... Seems pretty realistic to me.
I'm more sure of you being a troll than that PDF being one.

Look at the horrible quality (not the image quality, the horrible design). Since when does the FBI release private information like this, much less in such a horrible design? This is a 12 year old's copypasta in Word.

I'll take the FBI's published horrible design any time over an unpublished excelently designed Bitcoin Magazine Roll Eyes

It's a Word copypasta? It sure is... What do you think the FBI uses? Adobe InDesign? lol
Your reply is full of fail. Liked CBH's reply more Smiley

FFS Matthew, keep your non-trolling promise. You already broke it at least 2 times today.

I assess with a medium confidence level - that this is a genuine leak.
The overall tone, scope and language used are suggestive to me that it's the real deal.

Trolls are seldom so understated, nor do they have such attention to detail.

Exactly. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Wow, that's some customized address you have there! How long did it take you to make it in VanityGen?  Shocked It would take me like 100 years!

The address is not even valid...
4727  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Inquiring] Selling PHPCO.IN on: May 08, 2012, 04:44:40 AM
I have to retract my bid of One million daollrs. It was made almost a minute ago, no longer want the domain + there have been changes in the US economy since then.
Well Blazr did have the ability to withdraw his/her bid because I wasn't selling it at the time.

That's okay. I didn't tell you what kind of dollars I'll pay in. I think I'll use sand dollars.
Now I see why people ignore you.

I think he wants his scammer tag back Tongue
4728  Economy / Auctions / Re: [Inquiring] Selling PHPCO.IN on: May 08, 2012, 04:30:57 AM
One million dollars.

Witnessed.

And I hope he makes you pay them...
4729  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has anybody heard about that Silk Road scam? on: May 08, 2012, 04:18:42 AM
The question is, just how difficult will it be for him to cash out?

The word is he already cashed out, at least a big part... straight to MtGox lol

Can you quote a source please? I'm trying to follow this story, but all I'm getting are vague claims based on nothing. Thank you very much Smiley

If you really wanted to follow this story you would go to the place where it happened and read about it there instead of staying here asking questions.

That was what I did when I wanted to know more. Not going to quote or link anything here, that's for sure, but I know what I read in a thread where someone is following some of the scammer bitcoin addresses, and that was that he sent some thousands of coins to MtGox.
4730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help in retrieving btc on: May 07, 2012, 06:21:02 PM
-rescan is actually only necessary if the old client was older than 0.3.21.

Good to know. Thanks.

I am not the individual you're looking for.

Exactly what Atlas would've said... Roll Eyes
4733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would you like in a Payment Processor, What's your favourite Bitcoin Wallet on: May 07, 2012, 11:18:06 AM
Well, I would like that Walletbit payment gateway accepted payments straight from a bitcoin client into an account holders address Wink
4734  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SR $100k+ bitcoin scam on: May 07, 2012, 11:10:53 AM
Is it 100k BTC or $100k  ? If its $100k then its nowhere near the biggest BTC theft so far.

What's the biggest BTC theft in $ then?

-fankih-

43k BTC ~ $250k stolen in the Linode heist

People can argue that allinvain 25K BTC were robbed when they were valued at $500k, but that's yet to be proven.

I'm pretty sure that any of Pirate's depositors is well aware of the risks(and accepts them) and doesn't need you fear mongers to tout it around relentlessly...
If that's true, that's coming from secret information that hasn't been shared with others. So far as I know, nobody but Pirate has any idea what the risks are.

The only risk is getting away empty handed, like all of you say.
You really think any of the depositors is not aware of that and doesn't accept it?
It's not like he's taking money right and left from any sucker on this forum, because he isn't...
4736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help in retrieving btc on: May 07, 2012, 10:35:56 AM
Replace the wallet.dat and run your client with the -rescan flag so it retrieves all of your wallet's transactions from the blockchain. That's all you need.
4737  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust is probably a Ponzi Scheme: A Petition on: May 07, 2012, 10:26:24 AM
What are these other things that can explain the situation? Because I don't know of any. Other than a Ponzi scheme or demented charity, I know of no way to explain the rate of the return and the claimed lack of risk.

Who claimed lack of risk, Joel? You?
Don't go around putting words on other peoples mouths.
I'm pretty sure that any of Pirate's depositors is well aware of the risks(and accepts them) and doesn't need you fear mongers to tout it around relentlessly...
The fact is: Most people with a vested interest in whatever scheme Pirate runs don't feel the need to ask or spread FUD about it, so why should any of you feel that need? Butthurt?
4738  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust is probably a Ponzi Scheme: A Petition on: May 07, 2012, 07:21:56 AM
Yes. I'm a fund manager professional scammer who will lose all my clients funds and throw the burden on the government. It's my job to know this stuff.

Fixed that shit for you...

Didn't you knew that Mark offered himself and his company to be DEA snitches?
Or is it bitches instead of snitches? I always get confused... Roll Eyes

http://uk.reuters.com/article/2011/06/15/financial-bitcoin-idUKN1510930920110615

All financial institutes are snitches whether in the US or not as if they don't comply with US financial disclosures then they will be cut out of the US financial industry.  It may also be illegal under US law to tell a customer they are calling the police or submitting a SAR.

Hopefully the Bitcoinica/Intersango thing will eventually turn into a new full-fledge spot exchange.

Don't hold your hopes for Intersango... Haven't you seen the thread where they locked the bitcoins of a dude who told them he wanted to withdraw the BTC to a silk road address?
Yeah, that was stupid of him Grin

you're joking right lol and the award to the worlds dumbest criminal goes too....

No, I'm not joking. That shit really happened lol award well deserved Grin

At least Paypal returns frozen funds back after 180 days...
