4721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news for Nigerian crypto enthusiast on: March 21, 2021, 12:44:06 PM
By interpretation from there earlier statement, I know it was banking activities with cryptocurrency that was restricted but Nigerians generalized it to be a ban affecting all class of crypto dealings but enthusiasts have since being successfully dealing in P2P.

Central bank itself can't ban cryptocurrency in Nigeria but it has to go through legislation to outlaw it through presenting it as a bill to be deliberated. Well , is a good thing that they (the central bank) has cleared the dust now. I know that further positive clarification will be made on this.

Nigeria is a big bitcoin and crypto place and a major reason for this growth is unemployment. Where there is high unemployment and poverty, the people strive to survive and the government is coming to reality with the poverty rate, they can only open up the economy through digital trading that allows everybody to be a part of for surviving on their own decision.
4722  Economy / Speculation / Re: By 4/20, the price of bitcoin had rising to $69,000? on: March 20, 2021, 11:14:20 AM
With the next wave of stimulus money on the way and the price fluctuating in the mid-to-high 50s for nearly a month, I just wanted to hear people's thoughts on the possibility of bitcoin touching $69K by 4/20.

$69,000 at 4/20 is not that huge or big deal to hit. The price trading at $58,973 at this time , that means the difference of $10,000 within a month. Yes , it is possible to happen. All is needed is stability around $60,000 area and the deed is done. The American stimulus has been a big factor to the initial increase last year and I'm sure more lose money are coming into bitcoin investment this time.
4723  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like India is perhaps serious about banning cryptocurrency on: March 20, 2021, 09:11:50 AM
This banning of a thing is just a threat. How is it possible to ban an anonymous? The earlier Government at all cadres realize that this is the future currency, the better for them to strategize.

Art the threats from countries that are seeking to ban bitcoin is with excuse that people use it for illegal dealings but this is not a reason good for talking negative about a digital asset , fiat has been used for all that too. The whole of them will eventually look at regulation in their country home, banning of cryptocurrency will only take the countries out from global businesses and that will bring them backwards.
4724  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is now "too important to ignore", says Deutsche Bank [Today!] on: March 19, 2021, 10:57:10 PM
There is just one reason for all the positive accolade for bitcoin

All you hear now about adoption, big institutions buying, social media platforms opening arms for bitcoin ads and discussions everywhere about bitcoin is that it didn't collapse during the covid-19 year, 2020.

The year known as 2020, was the litmus test for bitcoin but instead of falling, it measured huge strength and taking over the negative effect of fiat contact and turned it to its positive strength. It showed advantage on this over fiat and in fact served as measures to protect further contacts.

All the fund couldn't pull the coin down including the hard times of covid-19 year. This made the plus for bitcoin, it kept raising from strength to strength and haters don't have choice anymore.
4725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum - Bitcoin's Tail on: March 19, 2021, 05:06:53 PM
About the use, etheruem had the opportunity during the ICO days because if ICO succeeded, it would have won large number in the cryptocurrency community as etheruem will be used as gas for all the erc20 platforms but ICO is largely a scam and projects were abandoned, so that brought the growing community down. This affected etheruem IMO. And another major challenge apart from etheruem network, the fees too increase when that of bitcoin too is high. But if etheruem fees can get low when bitcoin is high, it will push more community to etheruem. This is a major factor to the height that bnb is because when bitcoin and etheruem fees increased, bnb fee was cheaper and the use increase which pumped price of bnb.
4726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency still being discussed in Nigerian Television on: March 19, 2021, 02:09:46 PM

Definitely, if it caused some minor price to decline that's for sure many hungry investors would tend to buy bitcoin quickly if they find it a good price to purchase with.

Contrarily it did not cause any price decline in bitcoin if that is what you trying to say, price didn't drop but kept moving. During the announcement, the price was in 40's and now price is in 50's.

It didn't stop anything because there is room for P2P including exchanges like binance.
4727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency still being discussed in Nigerian Television on: March 19, 2021, 01:20:56 PM
It is really nice to see that in some countries people make a detailed analysis of Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies. It is an exemplary thing for all other countries and I hope too see the same thing in as many countries as possible. I also agree that it looks like Nigerians really care about cryptos and invest in them. I'm really tired of seeing people who prefer only going against cryptos rather than trying to have a better knowledge.

I think you have a good grasp of the thread (DISCUSSING BITCOIN / CRYPTOCURRENCY) and giving detail analysis on a television is the focus and not ban because we know that larger related regulatory sectors are against it and it is not disturbing crypto family. The fact that it is becoming a daily discussed issue like forex, stocks, derivatives or crude is bringing the birds to roost.
4728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency still being discussed in Nigerian Television on: March 19, 2021, 11:20:13 AM
Not withstanding that the Central Bank of Nigerian (CBN) announced directives to banks to bring down accounts connected to cryptocurrency transaction and banning the operation , cryptocurrency is still a huge discuss. I said it that such decision was in relation to attacking those that financed the #Endsars protest because monies from cryptocurrency were used as source that helped the protest succeed to the level that it did.

But ever since the pronouncement, bitcoin has gained more awareness and before then , the wave of news about bitcoin was minimal even in Televisions

I felt really surprised and good to hear an extensive analysis of bitcoin in a high profile Nigerian television (Channels Television). The station is known to be detailed in analysis. And on there business news, they are known to be thorough in all business ramifications including stocks, bond, derivatives and commodities , forex etc.
And lately I heard them analysing bitcoin, altcoins and in fact discussing ripple law suit with SEC; which was the highest point for me as I stood up gravitating towards the television, to be sure I was hearing ripple law suit by a Nigerian and Nigerian station.. There experts really broke down almost every coin in discuss with a lot of depth. I was really wowed and felt we don't really see what these guys have seen in cryptocurrency. With that analysis, it made me see the need for huge investment as I concluded we are still in early stages of cryptocurrency.

If such analysis can go on in Nigeria, I concluded Nigerians are really investing more than those of us on the forum.

Now, to discuss bitcoin on Nigerian television should be an abomination if the government is serious about it. This is to tell you that announcement is just political. No body talk about it as a banned project but an investment opportunity  Grin

4731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long do you think this altcoin bubble will last? on: March 16, 2021, 11:12:31 PM
I think this bull run is only in its early stages and it will last until 2022. The reason I think it's just getting started is because the Bitcoin market, the cryptocurrency is being noticed by major investors.  They will buy the cryptocurrency until the best returns are obtained before taking profits.  The economic recovery cycle has just started, so this price increase can last longer than previous times.

I think that too, it may get to next year because this year's altcoin bull is still shaking and not defined unlike 2017. Using etheruem as an example, after hitting $2,000 it dropped around $1,600 and fluctuations are leading the coin. Etheruem is the altcoin's king and bull run will follow from that track.
4732  Economy / Economics / Re: No Joke - Elon is now "Technoking" & CFO is "Master of Coin" on: March 16, 2021, 10:38:30 PM
looks like we've discussed it here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5324134.0...
it looks like the news about this will last for the next few days 'lol'. I personally don't think the title 'master of coin' deserves to be pinned on Zach Kirkhorn.

You are right I dropped that after reading the story but by the way. I don't think Elon musk will allow that to go away within few days if he has such title. I believe he is going to ride on that a create more hype for himself and either doge or bitcoin. He might make a related tweet that will push the price.
4733  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Automatic pattern recognition on: March 16, 2021, 09:44:47 PM
How realistic can it be to follow a pattern that may not be certain to repeat it self? Dont confuse yourself if you dont understand it, not to lose your money, you can stay away. Trading is not for everybody.
4734  Economy / Economics / Re: Your economic competitor is at the other side of the globe on: March 16, 2021, 08:34:34 PM
Did you mean China and India is making progress in technologies  by leading the educational reforms and US and EU is slower in these aspects? I think it is good to take names of these countries to clear out any confusion.

This is obviously not the point. At least India is referred to a third world country while US or EU is referred to a developed country, so they may not be in class of comparison. But for a third world countries, India is definitely doing well in technology in that class. Therefore if there should be comparison it should be in the class of third world countries while they look up to advanced nations.
4735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ADA Scam sites are unstopable? on: March 16, 2021, 03:21:01 PM
Another newbie scam. Unfortunate that we keep getting this scam because they are all around trying to catch unsuspecting person. Most especially when a coin gets large community, it opens up room for scam. The YouTube videos we watch sometimes seem to be leading people to believe everything. Remember is only a video, take your time while investing.
4736  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn to be known with New titles on: March 16, 2021, 02:01:11 PM

I'm aware that Elon Musk has a big influence but he may be a new player in the crypto world. Sometimes the media likes to exaggerate things that are trending and that aim to increase the rating of their writing.

He has brought a kind of publicity to himself with the hype of doge and huge buy of some coins. Of course every whale has the capacity to beam light on there self especially with the media being alive to draw up attention. Musk is relatively new but it is his time with the kind of hype around him.
4737  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling the top on: March 16, 2021, 12:39:48 PM
adaseb has a great one!  I've thought about that a lot too and it should probably be on the list.
Upon recreating what he said for calling the top, it's a great way to execute if you believe that "that" is the top.

For Visual representation of what adaseb has discussed

I think everyone should know that everyone that is trading and making predictions is a speculator.

Are you saying price is going to drop this way after the top was predicted by Op about a month to come? Maybe you need to come up with better clarification or if you know what level price will drop. I remember is prediction and speculation anyway.
4738  Economy / Economics / Your economic competitor is at the other side of the globe on: March 16, 2021, 10:44:03 AM
Your economic competitor is no longer your next door neighbour but the guy in the next side of the globe. A country that wants to know how far they have grown or measure there progress level should have a check on other countries of the world. Take children in school for example with others in other countries especially in lower classes (using the catch them young slogan), you can rate the level of their learning capacity and what they are taught in their curriculum. If children in one country is still learning the basics and rudiment of mathematics and children in same class in another country is already far ahead in technology, manufacturing and building technological equipment, you should know what economic impact the future will become. What you have is what you will give. People are a function of their environment and will impact the environment in the best way they know. So is wise to give the young ones the necessary and basic knowledge required because the society and economy will be the benefactor at the long run.
4739  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin get back to 60K this week? on: March 16, 2021, 07:34:42 AM

Anyway if it falls back to $50 I hope to have spare FIAT to buy this dip/sale

You may not have the chance to get in at $50k in a near time. Bitcoin may hit another ATH faster than you think because institutional investors are not giving up. Bitcoin is becoming a global asset and many investors are throwing in money to hodl the coin.
4740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn to be known with New titles on: March 15, 2021, 06:34:37 PM
I visited coin telegraph and was reading this new title of sort about the guy getting very popular for his followership and publicity, Elon Musk. And now, he is going to be known with a new title.

Would this bring a new kind of hype to his person and push bitcoin higher because I also know that he bought huge number of btc some time ago that fired price up.

Quote
Effective as of March 15, 2021, the titles of Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn have changed to Technoking of Tesla and Master of Coin, respectively.
