4741  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲EOSBet.io - Licensed Casino Platform 🎲Provably Fair 🎲NOW ACCEPTING BTC ₿ on: October 09, 2019, 10:15:12 AM
I would not say that it is easier. It requires to install a desktop wallet. Maybe I didn’t notice an easier way?
You can use any EOS wallet mentioned on the login screen. There's little or no difference between Binance DEX and Newdex on this matter.
However, depending on your taste, I think Newdex has a slightly better interface.

Yeah, I should say "streamlined" instead of "easy" since I don't have to go through BNB conversion.

Let's say I receive 1 EOS dividend. I have to go to Binance.com to convert it into BNB, then transfer the BNB to Binance DEX, then trade there.
Meanwhile, with Newdex, I can directly exchange my 1 EOS for BET token.

Aside from that, there are fewer trading/withdrawal fees involved.
4742  Economy / Gambling / Re: MintDice – Bitcoin Casino With Online Slots, Bitcoin Crash & Bitcoin Investment on: October 09, 2019, 08:04:30 AM
In skill-based games gamblers plays against other gamblers instead against casino. Thus taking away bankroll is not possible. Am i right or i'm confusing something?
Yes, you are making an assumption that mentioned skill-based games == PvP without enough information, it's different.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQtltNZ_pjs << a lot of skill games but not PvP

With that in mind, if Pyramid etc. is PvP, then taking away bankroll isn't possible, just like you said.

4743  Economy / Gambling / Re: MintDice – Bitcoin Casino With Online Slots, Bitcoin Crash & Bitcoin Investment on: October 09, 2019, 04:43:20 AM
I'm curious about these skill-based games, does it implies that users can earn profits by mastering these games?

I'm concerned about some skilled guy able to take away the house bankroll. Furthermore, unlike real casinos that can ban certain individuals, in online casinos, TOR/VPN can bypass the blacklist.
4744  Economy / Economics / Re: Stock To Flow Model: Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity on: October 08, 2019, 07:54:09 PM
It is a different model from the full model that took in account I believe 111 monthly data points between 2009 and 2019 (r2 is also different).
Okay, then you have a good case about this model's ability to forecast.
However, careful about "overfitting" and let's see about it in the next few years Smiley
4745  Economy / Economics / Re: Stock To Flow Model: Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity on: October 08, 2019, 07:34:24 PM
@fillippone thanks for the serious response.

In the time series analysis, you can divide the period into (1) in-sample period and (2) post-sample or out-of-sample period. I have no problem with the (1) in-sample period if the model is statistically significant. In this case, the Stock To Flow Model can be presented and discussed to underline the scarcity, halvings, as you said, but only for 2009 - present (up to the model generated).

This post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5191012.msg52693516#msg52693516 also about the in-sample period or in-sample forecast.

For forecasting (let's say 2020 or 2025), we deal with (2) the post-sample period. This is when "uncertainties" come to play. If every relationship stays the same, we can expect that this model can accurately predict future BTC prices. However, in economics, that's not possible since the world is continuously changing.

4746  Economy / Economics / Re: World Global Economy 2019 and future. on: October 08, 2019, 05:32:31 PM
Thnx for reports but i have mentioned here what is the situation with Global world Economy, im waiting for critics now!
Let's compare:

Yours:
USA :  market is good stock market is good.
USA dollar  remain not strong not weak Medium.

IMF:
Quote
In the United States, 2019 growth is expected to be 2.6 percent (0.3 percentage point higher than in the April WEO), moderating to 1.9 percent in 2020 as the fiscal stimulus unwinds. The revision to 2019 growth reflects stronger-than-anticipated first quarter performance. While the headline number was strong on the back of robust exports and inventory accumulation, domestic demand was somewhat softer than expected and imports weaker as well, in part reflecting the effect of tariffs. These developments point to slowing momentum over the rest of the year.
https://www.imf.org/en/Publications/WEO/Issues/2019/07/18/WEOupdateJuly2019

World Bank:
Quote
U.S. growth is expected to slow to 2.5 percent in 2019 and further decelerate to 1.7 percent in 2020 and 1.6 percent in 2021, as the effects of recent fiscal stimulus wane. These projections are unchanged from the previous forecast due to offsetting factors. On the one hand, recent tariff increases and associated retaliatory actions are expected to weigh on activity. On the other, growth is being supported by more accommodative monetary policy than previously assumed and by sustained increases in productivity growth and labor force participation (Figure 1.4.D).
http://pubdocs.worldbank.org/en/308981560187921635/211398-Ch01.pdf

OECD:
Quote
GDP growth in the United States is projected to moderate to around 2% in 2020 as the support from fiscal easing slowly fades. Solid labour market outcomes and supportive financial conditions continue to underpin household spending, but higher tariffs
https://issuu.com/oecd.publishing/docs/ieo106_handout_final/4

So basically what I'm saying is you need some rather serious literature research before able to produce something worth to discuss.

OP, if you like to read this kind of topic, you can download proper reports here:

4748  Economy / Economics / Re: Stock To Flow Model: Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity on: October 08, 2019, 03:34:32 PM
Finally something new and worth to read. I'm not familiar with this "stock to flow" in Finance. Let's see what this is about:

Oh, it's basically a measure of scarcity, by looking at the "world inventory" and the amount produced annually.
https://monetary-metals.com/gold-economics/lexicon/?mmdesc=stock-to-flow-ratio#stock-to-flow-ratio

This model should suffice for an academics paper (at least in my country). However, it might not get an accurate result for forecasting. It still utilizes historical data, right?
For forecasting purposes, however, this model can be used as one out of many models and assumptions.

The good news is, as Satoshi said, if you can get enough people to believe this model, it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
4749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any Altcoins out there backed by real assets? on: October 08, 2019, 12:32:19 PM
It would appear thus far that the answer to my question is "not yet".

For example, the recommendations are not backed by real income-producing assets, i.e.
diamonds, gold, U.S. Dollar, as none of these produce income streams. Real assets, by definition,
must produce a yield. Without the yield, price is a pure speculation. The better bet would be owning
the underlying commodities directly, which for the vast majority of us is simply not feasible. This means
that the native token must be built on a foundation of income from operations.
The term "asset"  only means something that has value and can be used to pay debts.
https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/asset

While the term "yield" is more closely related to business. An asset cannot yielding profits if it's not used in productive activities by a person or an organization.

My problem with the token built on top of income operations is that it will no longer function as a currency, but a security, or a non-dividend paying stock.
4750  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲EOSBet.io - Licensed Casino Platform 🎲Provably Fair 🎲NOW ACCEPTING BTC ₿ on: October 08, 2019, 11:49:10 AM
Binance DEX is objectively more convenient and well-known. Maybe there are fake volumes on Newdex.
Fake volumes are everywhere, including on the Binance DEX. As for popularity, I think Binance DEX has the early advantage of being well-known. However, Newdex is a straightforward better trading platform for EOS holders. IMO compared to Binance DEX, Newdex is simply better, faster, and easier to use. BET holders also don't have to get through the EOS - Binance chain (token) conversion.

@CryptoCheckk is that alliance will do any good for EOSBet? I mean, what's the purpose?
4751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 07, 2019, 08:24:50 AM
Oh, Manchester United.
- The club replaced the best manager in the world with an inexperienced manager.
- The club sold the only established proven EPL center forward.
- The team doesn't have a "physical presence." It's worse than 2017/2018.

They will struggle to get in the top-6, more likely to finish mid-table.
4752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 07, 2019, 08:04:26 AM
Juventus clearly have more quality and experience than Inter. Excellent match, but Juve could have scored more.

I think head to head Juve is the strongest in the Serie A at the moment, but the strongest team not necessarily always be the champion. Inter is only one point behind.
4753  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [EDUKASI] Salah Paham Tentang Crypto currency Yang Terjadi Di Indonesia on: October 06, 2019, 02:19:52 PM
Blockchain bukanlah bitcoin, blockchain bukan pula mata uang kripto

I could not find any casino license on the web page, it seems like an unlicensed casino? Summon @game-protect
So after Roger steps down from CEO, I think bitcoin.com now adopts a more "friendly" strategy towards BTC. But still, I don't like their strategy that involves misleading people to buy BCH when they actually want to buy BTC.
4755  Economy / Economics / Re: Ethereum managed to pass bitcoin in transaction fees last week on: October 06, 2019, 01:08:54 PM
@darewaller @alyssa85 people seem to forget what Ethereum is.

Quote
Ethereum is a global, open-source platform for decentralized applications.
Source: https://www.ethereum.org/

In BTC, people could argue that high fees are good because BTC is digital gold, etc.

Meanwhile, high fees in ETH means that the platform doesn't scale. How is this platform will be able to serve thousands/millions of dApps if it cannot handle a mere CryptoKitties?
4756  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [EDUKASI] Salah Paham Tentang Crypto currency Yang Terjadi Di Indonesia on: October 05, 2019, 05:53:16 PM
Macam-macam uang:
- Uang Komoditas (commodity money): emas, perak, tembakau, dll.
- Uang Representatif (representative money): sertifikat emas, USD (pada sebelum Nixon), dll.
- Uang Fiat (fiat money): legal tender negara-negara seperti IDR, USD (sekarang), SGD, dll.

1. Pseudonim vs anonim
2. Halving pasti harga naik
3. Bitcoin uang buat kejahatan
4. "Blockchain Technology"
4757  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: October 05, 2019, 01:41:04 PM
I quoted from Dictionary https://imgur.com/a/KWHM0kb and not from Lexico! Roll Eyes
Even Google snippet put the lexico page as its reference:

Click that link, and you will be redirected to https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/cryptocurrency

In a real-world situation, copy-paste verbatim should follow citation rules, such as IEEE/APA/MLA/Chicago, etc. Hence, what you did is undoubtedly plagiarism in academics institutions.

For non-academics, you might get away with a simple mention. In this case, mention the "Oxford Dictionary" or "Lexico."

You didn't do any of that.

If you want
I want you to earn more merits Grin

Ok seriously, my opinion != my needs/wants.

It depends very much on the alt doesn't it? At some point someone is going to make an alt that has features retail investors and users find attractive and useful. At which point that alt will do what Facebook did to MySpace.
Bitcoin is not all about features mate, security/hashrate matters. Unless we see some radical change in the mining landscape, I don't think we will see a new champion anytime soon.
4759  Economy / Economics / Re: Ethereum managed to pass bitcoin in transaction fees last week on: October 04, 2019, 01:07:59 PM
So is this good news or bad news for Bitcoin? So which is better, low fees or high fees?
Ethereum will migrate to POS, so why do we even talk about this mining stuff?
4760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your gambling system? on: October 04, 2019, 09:06:51 AM
Some was able to present system that guarantee loss:
Thanks for the compliment, however
Guaranteed loss is an overstatement I think. It depends on how many rolls and your target return.

No one was able to double portfolio while entering casino with 1 000 000 initial bet - with original martingale 27% gamblers beat casino.
This result was not telling the whole picture, such as how many of it would get busted (0 balance).

Perhaps 73% of "original" martingale users would get home with an empty pocket, while only a few of Fibonacci progression users got busted.

Fibonacci progression lowers the risk and obviously lowers the return as well.

By the way, congratulations on your newborn baby! Less gambling, more buying milk! Grin
