4745  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining when it costs more in power than payout. on: March 26, 2014, 04:26:25 PM
I will continue to mine when this happeneds to my miners, why?

Well if/when BTC jumps in price again.. all that "unprofitable" mining becomes widly profitable.

You are an idiot.

Take that money you would have spent on electricity to power your miners and buy bitcoins with it instead.

You'll get more bitcoins that way.

If difficulty drops or the price of bitcoins goes up and you would turn a profit again, turn your miners back on.

Meh I can't wear my bitcoin miner shirt if I'm not mining, lmao.
4746  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin is "NOT" Legal Tender According to the IRS on: March 26, 2014, 02:38:39 PM
It's time for a french revolution it seems, but are the people tired enough of being debt slaves to actually do anything? Probably not.

Quote
Bitcoin miners would have to report their earnings as taxable income with a value equal to the worth on the day it was mined. If they mine as part of a business, they would have to pay payroll taxes as well.

It seems like the latest tax advice from the IRS will put American miners in a less competitive position in relation to other companies that will likely never pay any meaningful tax.

Basically you have to deduct the amount earned in fiat in real-time as you mine your coins. People who mined during the peak and did not convert into fiat are now liable to sell double the bitcoin just to pay their taxes.

Your question shows a complete lack of understanding tax laws.
the burden has always been there. .
All miners in all taxing  countries were obliged to pay taxes.

This changes nothing and if you understood a litlle of USA tax law you would be happy the IRS-US government finally gave guidelines.

Denmark announced no taxes on BTC.. if you have a mining operatoin creating +10k a month why stay in america?
4750  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will miners in USA be able to remain competitive due to huge tax burden? on: March 26, 2014, 02:13:14 PM
The new tax code is a logistical nightmare. I can't see bitcoin surviving this. So am I supposed to keep track of my daily mining payout AND how much bitcoin was worth at said payout.? Then at the end of the year you would have to figure out how much the payout from each individual day fluctuated by years end to come up with your net gain or loss? Is that right, or am I missing something...because that seems insane.

BTC will survivie, it's only the land of the slaves errrr free that this applies to.

Also.. any large mining operation will move no questions asked.

4753  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Is Property Not Currency on: March 25, 2014, 08:24:05 PM

I'd debate that.. IMO some whales were waiting for this, we'll see though I suppose.
4754  Economy / Speculation / Re: April 8th on: March 25, 2014, 04:46:41 PM
To summarize the article:

April 8, 2014 is when Micro$oft stops supporting Windows XP Operating System for good. Problem is many ATM machines and credit card processors run on Windows XP. Thus, on or after April 8, 2014, these machines will fall out of PCI rules and regulations and will be illegal or out-of-conformance with the rules and regulations of the banking and credit industry. The writer of this article seems to think that because of this, bitcoin will go up in value.

I just don't see the connection.

Oh... people will just upgrade their stuff before then IMO..  disapointing article.
4755  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many of you work and are 100% paid in Bitcoin? on: March 25, 2014, 04:44:27 PM

You overdosed a lot today... I like this forum you can read posts from all kinds of people, people with strong sense of panic, paranoid people, dreamers, drug addicts you name it... It's like american pie, how high and pineapple express all of these movies combined in one place.

I must say I also enjoy this forum a lot, I've met one mean person on here everyone else has been quite pleasent, even when disagreeing.
4757  Economy / Speculation / Re: April 8th on: March 25, 2014, 04:40:01 PM

4758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the start of the Apocalype. on: March 25, 2014, 04:22:50 PM
I think Bitcoin my be th start of the Apocalypse. From Bitcoin, will rise a man who will have much power, that power will then birth more power, that then has the power to contrl the whole world. That man is none other than Satoshi Nakamoto.

He has refused to give us his identity, that can only mean he has plans of world wide conquering.

He said he has to work on other "projects" aka his plan for world domination.

He created a decentralized currency, only a future dictator would do something like that.

Results? Satoshi Nakamoto's creation of Bitcoin is his first step in his conquest of the world.

Probably better than the Rothschilds.. I'll follow satoshi.
