4741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mmorpg, Bitcoin, and Gambling on: May 28, 2020, 07:12:24 PM

It's impossible to see that some game developers will consider bitcoin as the game's main currency in an MMORPG game with the same level as some of the known MMORPG games today. It's like saying, implementing fiat as main currency on the game. In-game currency should always be control by the game devs since they are controlling the economy there to prevent further increase or decrease of some items or materials. And aside from that, that's where the game gets their profit or revenue to support maintenance and other spendings as mostly, in-game currencies can be bought by real money.

For other cryptos, I see lots of projects already attempt to implement crypto on the game but unfortunately, most of them failed. Rather than implementing crypto in a game itself, these games should accept bitcoin and other cryptos for top-up purchases. In that way, gamers have lots of options to buy game credits. This was actually already implemented on some crypto local exchanges like here e.g Razer PIN, using bitcoin to top-up load and used it on Codashop, etc.
4742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think shops should accept bitcoin? on: May 28, 2020, 06:46:04 PM
Yes, that is a major issue but the chance of $10 becoming $20 is also high. Considering the price of Bitcoin from 2010 till date it has always gone up.

2010: $0.0041
2011: $6.47
2012: $5.07
2013: $120.96
2014: $508.41
2015: $238.17
2016: $445.23
2017: $2,136.02
2018: $8,465.99
2019: $7,623.51
2020: $9,205.40

So, if a vendor accepts Bitcoin he/she will benefit and not incurr any loss.

You can't just apply this price history thing why should a merchant or store accepts bitcoin as a mode of payment.

They are doing business and not to hold bitcoin for a long period. Since bitcoin price is volatile, how can they maintain their capital?

They can accept bitcoin but all payments will be instantly converted to fiat. After all, they add it to make convenience for those who owned bitcoin but no fiat available on-hand.
4743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: May 26, 2020, 09:46:40 PM
Just today Damian Lillard has made a statement about how he will stay at the bench and not play if they do not have a path to playoffs. So I do not think every player wants to come back. plus you are thinking about the stars and yes majority of the stars wants to come back and play, you are also thinking teams that has something to play for that wants to come back and play as well.

I didn't mention "every player", I said "majority". I believed not just the stars.

I got the point of Damian Lillard but that won't represent the other players' desire in general.

However how about the players who never gets minutes anyway? The 10th man on the roster? The bench warmers, the second units? They probably do not want to risk going out of home just to sit at the bench for others to play. Also what about teams who are tanking? Basically at the bottom of the league? What about them? You think they want to come back and play just so they could lose more games?

Give me a source link that these players who are bench warmers don't want to play so we can have a healthy exchange of conversations. My answer will be speculation if I will forced to respond on that.

I agree that regular season should be cancelled, would make life easier for majority of the players. Only about 100 would stay and play and that already saves so many lives and removes a lot of risk.

That's why we need to wait for the formal announcement about the changes instead of being more intelligent about how the NBA should handle the situation. If we saw some sh*t guidelines or changes there, I'm with you on your rally that NBA season should be cancelled.
4744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you do think you can start betting in sportsbook again? on: May 26, 2020, 09:19:46 PM
1) PBA (our local basketball organization)
2) NBA
3) Boxing especially on popular boxers.

Those on your list are the usual sports I've always betting on.

1. NBA is now in preparation for their comeback. There is a high chance that the league will resume in a few months. Guidelines is expected to announce a few days from now.
2. PBA is also observing the situation and will announce their decision in August if they will resume the season.
3. As for boxing, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum announced that they will begin fights next month.

And as far as other sports league, some are also in preparations for their comeback. Sportsbetting sites will surely be back again on their usual activity this year. But I hope that while they are slowly coming back, the spread of the virus will now be slow too. I want to see our usual normal soon, not the new normal.
4745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mobile Legends Gambling [Part II] on: May 26, 2020, 08:47:34 PM
Is it possible to invite my friends to participate in this ML Tournament without involving myself in the actual game? More likely, I will become the manager of my 5 friends considering that I will be in charge of collecting and distributing the bet whether if they win or whether they loses.

As much as possible, at least one from bitcointalk (although we can't tell as we don't know the user behind the account) because this is more likely for fun and not as competitive like the usual tournament.

But if you want, I can invite your team to our weekly tournament here. Php 250/team entry. PM me if interested. You can also challenge team asu for now so that we can add more finished games here. Smiley

Anyways, I will not take any challenge for now as I'm only using prepaid data. Our ISP, Sky Broadband do have a technical problem for around 7 days now here in our area. Half of their subscribers here don't have the internet including us. They know lots of people are in work from home and yet this situation came.

Frequencies are not improving since May 22. I will not lock the thread as others might want a challenge to anyone.
4746  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it time for us to get back to trading? on: May 26, 2020, 07:42:57 PM
Some days I have seen price movements in the market some altcoins have moved again to raise their prices higher, whether the market price movements especially for altcoin have started to improve, because some traders of course still have a lot of trauma to return to trade, because there may be a lot of losses from a number of traders who have experienced a very deep decline, and for example we did not return to start trading, when else can our losses recover soon, I ask for advice and opinions with the big traders here?

Ups and down, red and green, bull or bear - all these are part of our trading experience and shouldn't be served as a reference if we will do trade or not.

That's the challenge in doing trades, play with the market, play with the volatility, play with the hype, etc. There's no easy path to success and obviously, you can't just change the direction of the wind of the way you want.

My advice to you is to remove all your doubts as it might affect your future trading strategies. Take note of your mistakes in the past and focus on your goal.
4747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: May 26, 2020, 07:21:36 PM

This is my own view. Self-analysis.

I'm also eyeing at the good future of our Gilas lineup. But I don't want to expect early much from the names mentioned here "for now". I want to see how they progress in the next 2 to 3 years before I can see if they can really boost the power of the Gilas team and not just a hype.

The real battle is on PBA. Yes, these youngsters will face a challenge in the international league but without a doubt, without experiencing the PBA environment, I see it's incomplete.

There are lots of strong players in the PH that plays for UAAP, NCAA, PBL, and when they face the PBA environment, only a few stay on their shape. Look at Kobe Paras for another example, trained hard and play for years overseas,  super athletic, high flyer, and do have a decent basketball IQ but I'm sure once he gets hopped on PBA, he won't be one of the dominant players for at least 3-4 seasons. Same with these PH youngsters on the hype. That's how difficult to compete in PBA.

We don't have a choice though. Some members of the current Gilas pool will bid farewell for a few years from now. I hope these youngsters will boom someday.

4748  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does pure price action strategy (NO INDICATOR) work for cryptocurrency trading? on: May 26, 2020, 06:57:09 PM
Hey traders, i really want to know your thoughts on this based on your experiences so far.

I am also a trader and my trading strategy is pure price action, no indicator whatsoever.

Do you think trading pure price action without indicator works on the crypto market?

I think you already encounter this subject in your online trading courses. And the fact in 2 years, like you said you quite become progressive, it means your strategy is effective for you in the long-run.

Trading 101: the answer is YES.

The references that will act as indicators are hype, speculation, news, and upcoming events.

Crypto is volatile that even how strong the hype is, it can change for a matter of seconds such as speech from a high profile person, whether a President, businessman, celebrity, etc. sudden exchange hack, whale movement and some statement from that popular crypto-personality.

Of course, it's still good that while relying on pure price action, a basic knowledge about trading indicators should also be apply.
4749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: May 26, 2020, 06:36:30 PM
The lack of information about what is going on is killing me. There must be some sort of ways that Adam Silver works on this constantly, why don't we hear anything about it. At least tell us if they are really working on getting it back or they are considering cancelling it.

Just relax there. NBA is working hard for it. If you were just able to follow some of the proposed plans since the league halts all the remaining games, somehow you can draw a picture of what will happen. An announcement about the guidelines will surely be made formally. If I'm not mistaken on June 1.

One thing is quite sure now, they will resume the season this year.

I do not think cancelling the regular season would be weird, I have said before even some players could be happy because they rather not play and stay home during this pandemic, ..

Majority of the players wants to come back and play. Check the news.

Plus if they ever want to come back and play, they need to start talking about it, or give a date already just because players needs to start practicing again, if they do not give a date and just suddenly say "we are starting next week" it won't be enough time to train for players.

Of course, there's already talks about it. Some teams resume their practice. Other players doing their daily workout while at home. That's not a big deal if there's no official announcement made yet. NBA players didn't rest for a year. They will surely in shape once the league comes back.
4750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Best Crypto Idea to Explore. on: May 26, 2020, 05:57:27 PM
If you're an entrepreneur in the house, which crypto idea do you feel we could explore, develop and innovate on that'll surpass  the businesses already existing in the industry?

Why thinking about surpassing them. Why not just used those businesses as reference.

Try to think outside the box, the industry that doesn't adopt the crypto touch yet.

From there, do some test if putting crypto as part of that industry will be effective. Sometimes, we really need a trial and error method to see the result.

Businessmen, entrepreneurs, investors, etc. are not lurking here so you won't get much that "idea". But even if does, I doubt they will give you a hint.
4751  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How many Courses did you take to become profitable? on: May 26, 2020, 05:23:33 PM
My trading journey is a rough one and it has taken me close to 2 years to get to where i am now. I'm proud to say i am a profitable trader.  Cheesy

It took me a number of courses and personal effort to get to where i am today.

If that so, congrats on your achievement. Just continue learning.

It does mean that you are serious about learning how to trade to the point that you invested not just your time but your money as well.

As in my case, paid online courses are great but everything we like to know is available free on the internet so what I did is self-study. Actually, no need for me to study hard day and night as while we progress, it will automatically feed our minds. Experience is the key.

Moreover, i see buying courses as a mean of investing in yourself. I also learnt through youtube and every other platforms i could get free stuffs from; afterall, there is no one that doesn't love something free!

Correct. Paid or not, what better is you are learning out of it.

Also, copy trading services IMO is not healthy for a newbie trader. I believe a newbie trader should be focused on the knowledge and chart-time rather than depending on a service for trades.

And not just that, copy-trading is expensive. Not recommended for newbies.

For example in Etoro, as of my last check, it was around $5,000 + risk-factor.

Hodling also has its downsides. I invested heavily in so many projects back in 2017/2018. I was hoping one of them will be the next bitcoin.

Hodling shouldn't be the thing to blame here but your mindset and thinking. There is no project from 2017/2018 that can be considered as the next bitcoin. It looks like you just got dragged by overhype.

I hope it served a lesson for you and I think you are doing great now. Wink

Anyways, I think it's better to move the thread here: Trading Discussion
4753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: May 25, 2020, 09:08:57 PM
Do you guys think Brownlee would be a good fit for Gilas Pilipinas?
Former Charlotte Bobcats coach Mike Dunlap has some positive words about JB.

Justin Brownlee was really my idol as import in the PBA so I would love him to be a naturalized player since we don't have someone who can really produce consistent scoring in the team and with that, we need him, I know we already have Andray Blatche but I think he is not aggressive in defense inside so maybe we can find someone from our local to replace that position, we have our fil am players that would certainly like to contribute on that position.

It depends on what league Gilas will play internationally.

If I'm not mistaken, FIBA only allows 1 naturalized player for each country (not sure for qualifiers) so between Brownlee and Blatche, I will pick the latter because of his height and that's what we need. Blatche is also used to play at the center position so that makes him a special asset in Gilas lineup.

But for SEAG, Jones CUP, ASEAN, I think they can play together but surely one local will be replaced. Brownlee plays as PG/SG/SF and we have plenty of locals playing at that position.

Well, hoping that Brownlee will now be given a naturalized Filipino citizenship. I see him retiring playing here/for the country.
4754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: May 25, 2020, 08:32:39 PM
I care more about the 9th to 11th seed if there will be an adjusted number of games.
Like in this case, 70.
Blazers, Pelicans and Kings are on that position where they are still aiming for a spot in the playoffs.

This will be a big decision for the NBA management.
Consider everything as much as possible.
Fairness is a must, ask the teams if they agree with the new plan.

Correct as I also point out before.

It's not that easy, like other sayings that once NBA resumed the season, they should go straight into playoffs. They just literally wasted those team efforts at the bottom fighting for the playoffs spot. We are talking about the remaining 20 or fewer games here and that is really crucial. Every game matters.

I'd rather see a no post-season 2019-20 activity or delay the 2020-21 season rather than end the current season now and head to playoffs.

.. also I don't see Kai here maybe it will be change since the list still not final and the team owners will decide on which player they will choose.

It's impossible "for now" to see Kai there. He needs to play in G-League first but still no assurance.

The list is for the next season draft. Players that are now ready and fit to play in the NBA environment.
4755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why there are no Stable coin gambling sites? on: May 25, 2020, 08:07:41 PM

I just want to add for OP's reference that Cloudbet added USDT on their deposit option. Not promoting the site but since OP's concern is about stable coin deposits, just giving out some information.

https://www.cloudbet.com/en/player/account

(Note: The USDT deposit option is not present on their legacy website)
4756  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet | Bitcoin Casino & Sportsbook | The No.1 Bitcoin Gambling Site on: May 25, 2020, 07:07:44 PM
Hi,
Just a doubt. Received an e-mail form Cloudbet saying I could deposit Tether through credit card. I followed the link, logged in my Cloudbet account, but can not find this option.
Does anybody have any idea?
Thanks

If you are using the legacy page, you won't see the USDT deposit option.

You need to switch on their new layout website: https://www.cloudbet.com/en/player/account

Deposits are all under the "My Account" tab.
4757  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Earn by Storing Your Cryptos in IBANwallets - FREE $10 for Signup on: May 25, 2020, 06:45:53 PM
can a $ 10 registration bonus be withdrawn Grin

Obviously, you can't even on a trusted platform. If my understanding is correct, the $10 will activate the basic plan for 1% interest daily for free-users who don't want to deposit. Then from there, users can now claim their 1% bonus per day like a faucet. If my calculation is correct, for a basic account to reach $5 minimum withdrawal, it needs around 50 days depending on the current exchange rate.

Don't want to judge the book by its cover but when I saw these...

-Advanced plan
-Premium plan
-Exclusive Plan
-VIP plan

... we should already know, at least, what we will think about the site. For the VIP plan which costs a total deposit of BTC0.7, the interest daily is 5.2%.

Too good to be true.

And OP doesn't seem to be affiliated with the site. It looks like OP just wants to gather referrals here.
4758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gold Medalist Bought Bitcoin on: May 23, 2020, 08:32:10 PM
It looks like a lot of celebrities are getting interested in investing or buying some bitcoin.

With a huge number of followers, that was good publicity on bitcoin and for the exchange, Binance America, although not really surprising for me as I saw it as normal for a famous personality to get involved in cryptocurrency.

Who knows, she can attract more personality with her action of involving crypto in her financial plans.

I like their hashtag; #EducateDontIntimidate  Cool

4760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots are better than Dice. on: May 23, 2020, 07:44:21 PM
I think that slots are way better than dice because of their payout structure. Lets say you are hunting 99x in dice, in this hunt you will not get paid if you hit 98x. But in slots things are different and you will get paid for every hit though you are aiming for jackpot.
I know that most of the slots pay like 80-92% of what goes into slots but still if you compare it with dice (specially hit and run method) it is more profitable in long run (although in long run you will eventually loose in both games because of house edge)
I want you to ponder upon this and please tell me how much I am right in this line of reasoning.

Dice and slots have different structures so comparing their payout are not appropriate. You basically choose slots because while aiming for the jackpot per round, you also have a chance to win big via multipliers, as per your own view.

Without going too much technical, as I think that's not necessary, if you think that slots are better than dice, then so be it. If you think that slots will give you more profit in the long-run, then so be it. Simple as that.

I don't see any further discussion needed for this. You can consider locking this thread or if there's something that confused you, tell us directly.
