4741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum : Its not too late on: January 06, 2021, 04:26:23 AM
It's too late in my opinion. It has already been changed over 30% within the week if I'm correct and having an entry is way more risky as at any point it may get dumped. BTC on rise too and if BTC falls, alts will follow too. I think we should wait more for an entry to ETH.
I guess you would've taken back your utterance if you had your way, seeing how mightily a bull run ETH is having ATM hitting over $1k now. Even though there are a lot of uncertainties around cryptos I have come to realize that the best investment decisions to be made here is never to relay on emotions or sentiments. Concentrate on project utility and roadmap, and then back it up with programme development and news. ETH is likely to continue its bull run into $2k before the last quarters of 2021 from what I am seeing.
4742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: want to invest .. on: January 06, 2021, 03:32:49 AM

After seeing the growth in the price of the coin in the past few weeks, it leaves us confused as to which investment to make. I want to invest in all of the coins. but only a little capital owned. what action am i taking right now?
Because you complained of paucity of funds, Bitcoin may be out of your league to purchase at the moment. You can seek out credible altcoins with use-case (not necessarily coins in the first 50 on the CMC list) and buy. There are coins less than $0.1 with potential to give a great ROI a few months from now once the alts bull run begins.

Bitcoin's volume is very high and therefore the price increase is limited.
No no no, this is a wrong assumption. There's still much room for movement for Bitcoin. Remember that 2021 is the year to watch out for in the crypto space.
4743  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in another Bubble? when will it Burst on: January 05, 2021, 06:29:16 PM
Technical analysis is 99% hinged on the fact that history will repeat itself
History has never favored Bitcoin in January 👌
Will  January of 2021 be an exception or obey the tradition of History .
If you want to follow that history repeating itself, then you should remember how Bitcoin got to ATH in Dec of 2017, a post halving year. We can witness correction in January but it won't be anything near a dump. 2021 is another post halving year. History repeating itself will mean we should be looking at Dec for a great ATH.

Shorters get ready..
Too early to start thinking of shorting Bitcoin now. You will miss the train once you sell off, except you're really talented at trading.

NO, It’s Not a financial advice 😋
But of course, it shouldn't even cross anyone's mind to take it as a financial advice seeing that your account is newbie.
4744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I miss the good old days on: January 05, 2021, 02:10:51 PM
Ouch! Your story in the OP is quite touching. I know how it feels to lose something because you want to keep afloat. Well, just remember that health is more important than anything else. Once we have life, we can have hope of regaining whatever lost. Have this as a consolation. Welcome back, veteran member of this community.

Thanks I'm a PHP developer and work with Cloudflare, AWS, etc. often but working daily isn't something I can do physically or mentally. My PHP experience makes me really good at finding bugs and security holes.
You've great skills that can always land you freelancing gigs. And there are several of these gigs on the Internet. Just surf the net.
4745  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin; Then and Now on: January 05, 2021, 11:20:09 AM
You could be wrong and all of us will do the same. Nobody thought also that $33,000 has to reach, the same as I think that we hardly touch $25,000 from scratch to a very expensive crypto coin in the market but it was given the chance and here we are now.
Truth be told, I was only trying to be modest with my comment that I could be "wrong", actually I believe "I am far from thinking that the market will experience a crash now." The reason I stand by that is my 2017 experience. If anyone cared to check the historical data of 2017 you would notice how Bitcoin rose steadily all through that year until Dec 17 (4th quarters) before Bitcoin began its descent. We are just in the first quarters of 2021 (which is another post halving year). It's not as if we wouldn't have corrections here and there in 2021 but it isn't going to be a crash anytime in this first quarters.

Is it just me or having gone through the ICO craze and 2017 ATH makes you mellower as you get older in the BTC ecosystem?
It's the result of your years of experience that has got your emotions under control now.

So true... You better take a snapshot and archive it for a souvenir. Who knows, the forum may one day reward such uncommon observations 😏

Happy and Prosperous 2021 to the Roobet team and all the participants.

Well, be grateful for little mercies. But it would've been nice if you related to us what actually happened if you felt someone was out to get you banned. Again, I hope whatever reason you were reported wasn't for plagiarism or spamming because the forum frowns at those. Enjoy your stay and keep out of trouble.
4750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Electroneum posted this on Facebook... Superbowl Ad is PUMP OF ALL PUMPS on: January 03, 2021, 05:48:01 AM
Pump and get ready for the dump.
Don't be skeptical on this. Just look on the bright side that once it's pumped, it could spring to a bull run. BTW, what makes you even think it's a pump and dump apart from mere speculation? Don't be too quick to forget that 2021 will see the alts rise in price. Alts' pump normally follow Bitcoin pump. I like the rumour of a pump for Electroneum as a hodler too. I have held ETN right from its ICO days.
4751  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin; Then and Now on: January 02, 2021, 04:05:01 PM
Before the great crash of 2018, the total market cap on the Coinmarketcap site was slightly above $800billion. Specifically, according to that data, it stood at $815,596,371,956 from snapshot taken on December 17, 2017 with Bitcoin at $19,140 and an overwhelming dominance of 71.5%

Today, being January 2, 2021 Bitcoin zoomed passed $31,000 pushing the total market cap to $824,684,567,217 with a 70.5% dominance. Yet, it doesn't still look like the market is going to be slowing down any time soon. The year got started on a great pedestal. 2021 is certainly going to be that year when people will constantly be checking their apps for market prices.

THEN...

NOW...

I am far from thinking that the market will experience a crash now. But then, that's my thought. I could be wrong. What do you guys think?
4752  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is ETH overpriced? on: January 02, 2021, 02:53:50 PM
ETH has real big usage:
- coins created there working as smart-contracrts, it is now 85% of all coin on coinmarketcap
- this year ETH also began the main platform for DeFi market

And you must remember that ETH still have not hit their biggest historicaly price - more than 1000$.

But real issue in speculations, because ETH old holders and users know all this this already.
You just took the word out of my mouth. I wondered why the OP missed all that you pointed out in the first place. ETH is yet to get across half of what it did at ATH in comparison at the time Bitcoin hit ATH in 2017. Bitcoin is >$31,000 at the moment while ETH still lags behind abysmally with less than 50%. Definitely, I am still trusting that it's yet to begin its bull run. But of course, what gives ETH the impetus of demand is its smart contract. Without that, ETH would've long collapsed.
4753  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can you really 'Sell High and Buy Low' in this 2020 BITCOIN Bull Run? on: January 02, 2021, 11:19:04 AM

BITCOIN is just going ATH after ATH.
That was the prayer of those who literally went to church on their knees since 2018, asking for such a time like we have now with Bitcoin mooning continually without a crash. Whatever happens with Bitcoin in 2021 (as its post halving year) will further decide how we judge or preempt Bitcoin in 2015 (another post halving year).

This bull run is setting a completely different trend compared to previous bull runs and no one can precisely predict looking at the current scenario. This might be because of the overall acceptance of bitcoin by certain institutes.
The force of the current bull run is powered by a force greater than gravity, literally speaking (well, writing actually). It isn't showing any sign of fatigue and the dominance of Bitcoin is currently at 69% of the entire marketcap. It's a good sign for Bitcoin but a bad one for alts. This is because ALTs won't moon if Bitcoin continues to dominate the entire market space.

On hindsight, we now know how 2020 went and how it nearly shouldn't count as a year in the calendars 🤡. Well, we can only wish for a better 2021 in terms of more improved fight and bite against the pandemic. Yah, I know 2020 wasn't that bad for everyone. Some people smiled through, especially "Bitcoiners." May 2021 bring us all good fortune in good health. Happy and Prosperous New Year to all.
4756  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are people buying BTC at $27000+ idiots? on: January 02, 2021, 05:45:16 AM
As somebody who’s been constantly buying & HODLING (selling nothing) since 2014,
Not selling at all during a bull run and rebuying back at crash isn't likely a good strategy. Except you're scared of losing your coin. Are you a non trader? You mean you won't take any profit during this bull run; is that what you're insinuating? Well, truth remains that if people don't engage in buying and selling AT ALL, Bitcoin won't have any value. If all everyone does is hodl it, the price will remain stagnant because of low liquidity. Those who sell from time to time are the real dudes making Bitcoin have bull runs from time to time. They also keep the network active too.

Therefore no, people buying now are not idiots. The idiots are the NOCOINERS with no BTC.
This is hasty generalization. People may not be buying because they're indigent and not necessarily because they don't want to.
4757  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't buy what you can't hodl. on: January 01, 2021, 09:13:01 PM
A simple way out is to plan your funds
This isn't that easy or perhaps it's easier said than done. If it were that easy knowing how to solve financial matters I am not sure people will still be going to college to study Economics, Banking & Finance, Accounting or other related courses.

dont fomo
Buying on the rumour of news is the best way to get into any trade. FOMO messes everything up as the rush to not miss out won't let one take a rational decision. But the surprising thing is that most investors like chasing price and would always wait until price begins to move before they get in.

buy at more dip, take profit at intervals.
My first comment up there in the first quoted post applies here too. Knowing how to buy the dip or taking profit at intervals can't be known except one has put in the works for a while and has acquired the set skills for trading. It's a learning process.
4758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: History is repeating itself or not? on: January 01, 2021, 05:36:34 PM
Ps, non-english user here, will improve my grammar.
Your English writing skills isn't that bad, judging from what I have read here. However, what is bad are the hypothesis you've conjured up about Bitcoin rise in price. They're simply irrelevant. Bitcoin price isn't in any way connected to the US election or any particular individual. Bitcoin is decentralized. No single person can influence it. The surge in price is occasioned by the halving that took place earlier in 2020. You just wait for the real effect this year. Every post Bitcoin halving year has always favoured Bitcoin. I expect price to continue to spiral up.
4759  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown due to covid19 is painful on: January 01, 2021, 07:06:24 AM
Yes, it is. The second lockdown will be necessary to prevent many people gets infected from the new variant of Covid-19 which already spreads to some countries. While the vaccine is not yet distributed to many hospitals and not many people get cured by the vaccine, a new virus is already attacked England, and some country prohibits for people who come from England to enter to their country. I guess the attack of the Covid-19 will continue in the next year, and with the new virus comes out, we really need to extra careful in the public area.
So, who do we blame here for the vaccine not getting distributed after it was confirmed it has a 90% cure rate? Pfizer has made the vaccine, yet countries aren't getting it. Sometimes, happenings like this make one think that there's more to this than meets the eye. Honestly, you can't help but draw that conclusion. Is the virus story a way for these leaders to drastically reduce the world population without looking murderous? And at the same time make wealth for a selected few. I am beginning to think in that direction, frankly.
4760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FOMO has started for Bitcoin on: December 31, 2020, 07:15:00 PM
I call this 'chasing a bull run'. Some people would wait through the bear market, but attempt to buy in when the price is already picking up momentum and we are looking to get into a bull run.
This is the mistake of many a newbie. Those who do this think that when the market is flat that those crashed coins/tokens won't rise again. It's fear that makes investors do this. Their inexperience makes them wait for a rush to buy in order not to miss out. But the true position of things should be to become weary when everyone is rushing in to buy. The tight time to buy Bitcoin or any crypto is when that particular crypto is getting nice reviews before price starts moving. The rumour of war should get people prepared and not the war itself. But crypto veterans know this game that Bitcoin can never disappear and so they wait to stock their hodlings at each major corrections; not after that.
