Hi,

I want to ask;
For margin trading, is "open+close" a position consider 1 single transaction or 2 transactions? for example, I open margin buy then close the position.

I know that for exchange, buy is 1 transaction, sell is 1 transaction, so commission is charge on 2 transactions.

Thanks for answering, I apologize if this has been asked 1000000x before.

I am pretty sure it is:

Exchange = 2
Margin = 1

We should probably add 10 fingerprints per person and insert them into the blockchain, so fraud is not possible.

How about a hybrid system?

Merging both systems and giving them 50% power.

Number of "Yes" Votes/ Total Number of Votes = % Yes Votes
Number of NXT Voting "Yes" / Total Number of NXT Voting = % Yes NXT Votes
[% Yes Votes + % Yes NXT Votes] / 2 = Final % Yes Votes

Hey we are back on the voting thing again I see.

My proposal (again): 1 Account = 1 Vote. I don't think it can be done based on account balance. No way can that be fair.

Someone wants to create multiple accounts.....so what....let them. It will cost them and spread money to others.

Voting requirements: Account must have existed in the blockchain for 'n' of blocks before vote was initiated. Account must be a non-zero balance. (Will help cut down on multiple accounts).

Simple and quick. Could be implemented now, a website could even do it using the blockchain info until we get the VS inside NXT.

I'm honestly fine with this. One account = one vote. It's not going to prevent people from making 8,000 accounts, but that will be a lot of time invested for them if each account has to be funded.

As long as this system can be reversed i think it is ok. Because someone WILL abuse it...

Well just let me be direct here. If you guys want to keep the rich-based voting and makes NXT rich guys club. I am going to make a fork as soon as I can.  It is open source

community after all. I already have a thread  going here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422129.0 and I have several million NXT in funding. Someone is going to do it

anyway so I will do it first when my millions of  NXT still have  some values.

Err... U shouldn't do it, there r a few traps left for guys who want to start a fork with another genesis block. At least make sure that noone puts real money into ur coin if u don't want to be accused as a scammer.

I am not going to do anything until all open sources are out.

WHAT A GREAT AMBASSADOR YOU ARE!!!!!

Besides, from a logical point of view a person who owns a lot of NXT deserves to have "more of a say" in any voting mechanism.

Can you logically elaborate on that ?? It sounds completely irrational and feudal to me. so 10th Century..

Why does a whale have more saying than a tuna? Are they not swimming in the same waters?

Yes my explanation is in the part of my sentence you cut off:

Besides, from a logical point of view a person who owns a lot of NXT deserves to have "more of a say" in any voting mechanism since the outcome will affect his holding more than someone who owns 100NXT.

That is not an explanation, that is your point of view.

please explain why does a bigger wallet has to have more saying than  a small wallet.

because it does NOT make sence to make it otherwise. There will always be an incentive to just split your holdings to the optimal size to increase your voting power then....

Do you guys also think that a company that has 100.000 Stakeholders, but 50 of them make up 51%, has no good decision finding system?
The big stakeholders WILL care IF they vote. They have the most to lose.

WE NEED AN ACCOUNT FREEZE CODE CAPABILITY A USER CAN LOAD INTO THE BLOCKCHAIN AS A PAID MESSAGE THAT ALL NODES WILL RECOGNIZE AND REJECT ALL TRANSACTIONS OUT OF THIS ACCOUNT UNTIL A USER REVERSES IT AND TURNS IT OFF WITH A SECOND PASSWORD.

No need to shout, but yes. +1

Either voting will be truly revolutionizing or it will be a serious threat to Nxt.

Would it be a good to reward the coinage regarding to the voting weight?

voting weight = stake * coinage

Sounds right to me.

and coinage should not be weighted that hard. because we DON'T want to discurage someone from changing passwords once in a time, also for spending and trading!
4778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 20, 2014, 07:58:58 PM
Working on the math behind the voting system.

What variables do you think should be included to determine voting power?

So far I have

(This isn't in any known language, just organized in a way that people should be able to understand)
Code:
variables that are added to vote weight

account size
account age

Hypothetically let
lastblock ==1400
account creation[0]== 1400
account creation[1]== 700
account creation[2]== 100

accountSize[0]== 1,00,000
accountSize[1]== 500,000
accountSize[2]== 250,000

Let relativeAge = (lastBlock) / (accountCreation) '

therefore : relativeAge[0]= 1
relativeAge[1]= 2
relativeAge[2]=14

Let fairWeight = (accountSize)^(1/3)

therefore : fairWeight[0]= 63
fairWeight[1]= 51
fairWeight[2]=41

votingPower = (relativeAge)*(fairWeight)

votingPower[0] = 63
votingPower[1] =  102
votingPower[2] = 574

I know you guys just want to make Voting not so "top-heavy". But that is no solution.

Let's look at this szenario:

This voting math is implemented and 2 people just bought 10.000.000 NXT each.
One of them is keeping all NXT in his one account.  Voting power:  100
The other on makes 100 accounts with 100.000 NXT each.  Voting Power: 4641

Basically he payed 100 NXT fees, to increase his voting power by 4741%
Does that really sound fair? I think not.

Would have saved me 500k NXT. Sad

As a lawyer says to a jury, I rest my case.

Utopianfuture, you could wake up tomorrow to this nightmare.  So could I.  Dear reader, so could you.

There is a reason for this, both have something in common.  I still have some Nxt in an 8 character password (all letters) account and it's still there no problem.

Nope, TwinWinNerD and I discussed it.

Yes.

And the strange thing is, IF they had access to my Keepass database, why did they only target my NXT accounts and not exchange accounts with funds on them? I had a good bunch of money on bitfinex for example. Or use my reputation in various forums to scam people?

I am still not 100% convinced it was a keylogger with access to all my datas. Maybe someone found a way to read the chache of my browser? I never use "Safe mode" for NXT. Maybe i should do that from now on?

I always use the secure 7875 connection, do either of you?  Either way, sorry for your loss.

I had problems with early versions, so i always used this bookmark: http://localhost:7874/

Could that be a serious problem?
