4762  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: difficulty finally dropping like expected- dramatically. on: July 26, 2016, 12:32:24 AM
Even though KNC miner has declared bankruptcy, it will still bounce back. You will see, they have gone too far to turn back now.

What does that even mean? Do you understand what bankruptcy is? No they won't bounce back lol. They're bankrupt. Maybe the owners will open a new company but only time will tell.

Well right after the halving it seemed fairly flat (ip 3% down 2%, etc) so this could just be 'back to normal' because there used to be higher swings before the halving. +/- 8% was normal in any weekly period.
Only time will tell. This could just level out or keep dropping, although I think the difficulty will stay where it is for now. Still pretty surprising, as we haven't had substantial drops in quite a while (difficulty-wise). Before the halving, the general consensus was to put in as much old hardware as possible, and mine till the halving. Now that the old mentality has died, looks like some of that extra old hashrate has fallen off. Just like every halving, but it could keep dropping as more old hardware falls out.

Edit 2
Yep, looks like it's old hardware going kaput. Could be as much as 10% down with these trends. Rechecked btcwisdom, and the drop is pretty damn substantial... last time we had drops like these were near last halving, and that was quite a while ago. Nice to see the hashrate finally bank downwards just a little bit after all this difficulty exploding.

As to the drops, I mean halving-wise, not the huge petahash-ish spike we had just now. This is a good downwards sign, and it makes a bit more sense than the other drops. Maybe someone selling off some old miners? Could be.

So I was standing over it, screwdriver in hand and I just could not kill it.
Make me a offer. With or without the RPi or just about anything else.
Just want 1 of the 4 blades, I can do that.
It works, it's quiet it's just not efficient by today's standards.

I will send you a PM for the miner with all parts except the pi. I'm moving in about a week, though, so it may be too late.
4764  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will many miners have to stop mining at the end of the month? on: July 25, 2016, 06:57:23 PM
Most of those on old miners who run at electricity rates of 0.1$/kwh will probably keep mining at a very small profit a day. I expect them to turn off pretty soon, though probably not at the end of this month, but near the end of the next. With the difficulty continuing to drop, they may last even longer, although it seems the S5s have started to drop out.
4765  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: first bitmain antminer S10 speculation thread (probably) on: July 25, 2016, 06:38:41 PM
Bitmain's already skipped two rackmount miners - the S6 and S8; I really don't think we'll ever see a return of the monster racks that the S2 and S4 were ever again. They were never in very high demand, and the S3 and S5 were simply better options than the racks for the most part. -LN miners have probably been the replacement for the racks.

Im may need some articles for a blog. Can you tell me which niches or topics you are most experienced with writing for?
Sorry for the delay!
Bitcoin mining, games, reviews, those are my big points. I really like doing blog articles regardless, pm me the details Smiley
4767  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / difficulty finally dropping like expected- dramatically. on: July 24, 2016, 05:43:56 PM

Dropping significantly, probably a large farm turning off right now. No blocks have been mined for 50 minutes now, pretty dramatic drop. I expected this, though.
Sorry for the tiny picture, click on the image itself and it should be a lot bigger. :/
The next difficulty could be as much as 10% lower than now or even up to 20% if this trend continues, although I think 20 is pretty... out there.

Seriously, though, this has a huge impact on the mempool in the short, since the fees you need to get a transaction in for the next block are at nearly 100. To give you an idea, I deposited 20$ onto a website about an hour and 20 minutes ago, with the recommended fee of around 55 at the time, and 1 hour and 20 minutes later, it's still not confirmed and the recommended fee has blown up for at least these few blocks. Annoying, but I can deal with it for now. 10,000 unconfirmed may be happening soon with the block generation time this damn high.

4769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think about using AWS for Mining? on: July 23, 2016, 04:57:51 PM
AWS was barely profitable years ago. AWS is very unreliable as you're using a CPU to mine, and that means barely any profit can be found there. Even with free AWS costs, you'll get hashrates of barely 1MH/S in most cases. You probably won't even be able to withdraw your earnings with that little hashpower, much less see the profit you've earned. I even doubt you'll find shares with that low hashrate. No, unless it's free you won't gain anything, and it's just a general waste of time. Just buy a physical miner if you want to mine at all, there's really no way around it in most cases.
4770  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S5 still worth the purchase? on: July 23, 2016, 04:55:34 PM
Free electricity is the real question, S5s are pretty reliable miners; loud and efficient for their age. Although not as great as the S3 imo(Better build quality and customization), if you have free electricity, go for a cheap S3. They're much more quiet than an S5 and run cool and most importantly are extremely strong miners with a metal shroud! Unless you have free electricity, no, it's not worth it for you.

Note that their fans can be changed to more quiet fans; I've changed my S5 fans to a much more quiet PWM fan, and the temps are nearly the same with much less sound.
4771  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I want to invest in antminer s7 on: July 23, 2016, 04:51:22 PM
Thank you all for your comments!!!  Cheesy
And, i am noob. So Can you help me answer this question?
Can be used the antminer S7 for mining litecoin? i don't have much money for buy S9, and i thing don't easy to buy S9 in at this time. So i think antmỉner S7 is good for me. Can I use it for earn litecoin to earn less money?
No, Bitcoin is a SHA256-based coin, and Litecoin is based off of Scrypt, two different algorithms. Scrypt ASICs are about to be destroyed as well; there's almost no miners that will profit for you at your electrical rate that can mine scrypt- the closest is the Innosilicon A4 Dominator, and that costs nearly the same amount. All other Scrypt miner manufacturers have since stopped development or have gone bankrupt, like Zeusminer, which made some pretty reliable Scrypt miners. I don't recommend mining at all with your electrical rate and budget; there's just no profit to be found whatsoever. Unless you'd like to move to china and get 0.01$/kwh electricity, no, you won't make much of anything without the S9, and even that has doubtful ROI with your electrical costs.

4772  Economy / Services / Re: Promoting your CS:GO Bet/Roulette/Refferal/etc. website on facebook on: July 22, 2016, 05:08:32 PM
Sad to say but almost all famous CSGO betting has been banned by Valve.

Yes I was about to say I thought they stopped it. Heard about it awhile ago here on bitcointalk. I guess it got too big and steam didn't want to be affiliated with gambling.
That's not the end of CS:GO gambling though; there will always be some kind of illegal activity that will happen with the community. I'm a semi-professional CS:GO player, so I know lots of these things as I keep up with the community a lot. What happened was there was a lot of drama surrounding TmarTn, and all the Twitch broadcasters and how they had owned a gambling site(TmarTn) or rigged sites and asked for percentages ahead of time so they could win insane amounts of skins without much of a chance, and with almost 100% certainty.(Phantoml0rd and co). Phantoml0rd even made one of his Twitch moderators go in the pot, saying that they'd go in together, but somehow Phantoml0rd didn't go in, and the moderator lost a few thousands of dollars of skins. Phantoml0rd only repaid him a 300$ knife. Valve probably didn't want to get into all of this, so they just issued a notice for them to stop. Although it has been confirmed by people like Thorin(CS:GO caster for several major events and minor events) that it's indeed legit, many people (including me) have been confused by the wording and how it's pretty odd. Kinda weird for a legal document, yes? You can search more of this online if you want, but i'm just outlining this since I always post about CS:GO here.

Also note that sites like CSGOLounge are big parts of the CS:GO scene viewership; the viewership of the game is expected to decline as they are shutting down. CSGOLounge provides match betting with skins, and it's where all the famous matchfixing scandals happened(iBuyPower vs Netcodeguides). CSGOCrash and co. are still up, and they all insist that they will not cease operations and will conform with Valve's new rules, though I think they will still be shut down. I recently lost around 300$ on the site, I can confirm it is still up, even as of today.

Wow, that was a lot of typing and ninja editing! Quite an interesting read if you know where to look. Smiley
4773  Other / Off-topic / Re: How kids can "earn" Bitcoin ? on: July 21, 2016, 11:24:35 PM
Faucets are a great way to start, but it won't earn them much and it'll become pretty boring. Provided they don't spam and actually post meaningfully, they can earn quite a bit for their posts after the Member rank, and they'll earn a bit each month for whatever they want. Mining is also fun to teach them, maybe gift them a S3 or S5 and teach them how to use it; they're pretty interesting.
Services section here is also a good place to start provided they're got decent banner design or something similar, not too hard, and it can help them earn some money and learn basic coding. Two for one.
4774  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Buying from BitMain Tech on: July 21, 2016, 10:33:25 PM
Buying from them is relatively reliable, and their is shipping as well- it's pretty fast and just generally works. Not much to say there. Being the company with the most miners sold in the world, yeah, buying from them is safe. Do they guarantee ROI? No. Do they sell miners that won't get you anything? Yes. Buy at your own risk and do research before buying.
4775  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: YesMiner: Real or Fake !? on: July 21, 2016, 10:29:21 PM
Clearly fake and meant to scam people. People who preordered got very high queue numbers, and they just got higher and the production slower so yesminer could rake the profits without anybody saying that it was fake.
Want more info? Have fun scanning the thread for information. Not exactly the most positive results. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1152767.msg13656688#msg13656688
There were no real confirmed Yesminers anyways, and afaik they were just pieces of paper promising an ultra-efficient miner. There are plenty of people that will tell you horror stories of miners that didn't exist and preordering them and losing lots of bitcoin, yesminer will probably become one of them.
4776  Economy / Services / Re: Leo's Writing Service - The cheapest!+editing/proofreading! Now with blog posts! on: July 20, 2016, 10:59:42 PM
Bump.
Prices have been raised for articles under 500, and I have added blog posts. I will post for you, 7 days, 1 article per day for 25$. Each post will be ~500 words, although it a topic is larger, I will not charge extra.

All prices are negotiable; my weak point is definitely medicine, but I mainly like topics like tech, BTC and gaming, specifically CS:GO and 1.6.

I put all price changes at the bottom so you can monitor prices. My work is always high quality; message me for examples! I am always available for work.

4778  Other / Archival / Re: Diff thread July 18 to Aug 1st? picks are yet to start! prize = $50 usd on: July 20, 2016, 07:50:21 PM
Besides, if you want to replace the 20PH with S9 hardware, you'll need to purchase at least 1700 of them. Even with a discount, that will be significant money to send off to Bitmain. I wonder what kind of terms you get if you offer to buy 1700 S9 units from Bitmain?
Probably nearly no discount at all. They'll just yawn like it happens every day and offer you 3.1% discount. A substantial amount of the network is used gear, and not all of it will turn off; Most people with S7s and Avalon 6s must have pretty cheap electricity, since difficulty hasn't really moved much at all. Difficulty will almost certainly drop, but we don't know how much at this point. It could go from 1% to 10%, as this is a pretty uncertain point. Even the network hashrate shows this as hashpower has been in flux for a few days now.
4779  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is it worth it?... on: July 20, 2016, 07:45:28 PM
At your electricity rate, you're going to need lots of current generation hashpower; I recommend the S9, as the S7 will probably rip you. With electricity at your rate, it's not going to bring you profit anyways. Mining is a competitive thing, and you need the cheapest possible electricity to even get in. Chinese miners often get nearly free electricity. Most people will say that it's near impossible to get ROI even on S9s, but it can be possible with a low enough electricity rate and good cooling; at your rate, it's going to be near impossible to get even anything. I suggest either moving and getting cheaper electricity, or trading for BTC; mining is out of the question.
4780  Economy / Services / Re: Pokemon Go Getters forum looking to hire a BLOGGER on: July 19, 2016, 06:53:29 PM
Pay seems very low for a writer. It'd probably be better if you paid per post, because they'd earn barely anything; they'd be better off writing reviews for gambling sites. You may want to revise the payment, but good luck trying to find people at this low of a price. I know people asking for 5 dollars for 650 word articles;  that's way more appealing than this. Some even charge 15$+ for 1200+ words. If you were to raise the rates to around 10, I bet some people would take this, but around this price all you'll find are people with bad work. Nobody's going to write for this much, especially for 1200 words.
