How many are betting in favor of Portugal for today's match? I believe that the odds for Portugal are looking very attractive. Most of the sportsbooks have Portugal at +200 to +220. I agree that Portugal is more like a one man army led by Cristiano Ronaldo, but during the previous matches Belgium has shown some vulnerabilities. Italy deserved to win but Austria wasn't bad either, feel sorry for Alaba in particular. Facing Italy so early was a very bad luck. Austria is like a mid class Bundesliga team, their performance was good considering they were underdogs here. We watched a good clash and felt this is a second round game in a major tournament as it supposed to be, not an ordinary group stage game. Win and go on or lose and go home. Haha. You didn't even give me a chance. I admit I didn't watch all of Denmark's group stage fixtures ~ I was only opportune to watch their first match with Finland. And yes, I watched today's game. My point was that Denmark played well but it was against a team like Wales that didn't put them to the test. Imagine when they play one of the top teams in the tournament. Not being hostile but if Denmark plays Netherlands, we know who the favorite would be. I guess after Eriksen's condition almost whole world root for Denmark, they become one of the surprise favorites here. And believe me they play good, four goals against Russia and Wales back to back wasn't by chance. We will see what happens in quarter final but Netherlands first need to beat Czechia. Italy is winning as expected but not in regular time, it took them minutes in the extra time to realize a goal. So far they've been the lucky one, with the VAR disallowing a goal due to offside.
You can imagine, Italy is actually winning Austra by Italy 2-0 Austra in just 1st half of extra time and by the 2nd half, its Italy 2-1 Austra, after playing a whole 90 minutes in regular time without a single goal. It makes me wonder what was at play in the regular time, seriously. I i guess it was just ill luck and now in the extra time, we could say the team that is less weared out gets to win the day. Ronaldo with 5 goals, but I kind of dislike the fact that he scores so many penalties all the time. It feels like it distorts the true top scorer list. He has always been scoring a good chunk of his goals per season with penalties. I am not sure but I think there was a time when penalties didn't count to the overall total, am I wrong?
It is indeed a fact that some goals are scored on penalties but it can't be denied it's still a goal every country can do the same so there's nothing strange there it's normal unless only Portugal can get a goal from a penalty that might be weird. |
