4761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 Chinese charged with laundering money from exchange hack on: March 05, 2020, 02:08:50 PM
I still find it amazing how NoKor keeps on pulling the strings to make their moves outside their country and not get caught sooner. Their relationship with large banks and other organizations/institutions is unbelievable too, so much that they managed to amass hundreds of millions of dollars through illegal activity without hitting any red flags. That's why I always look up to the North Koreans as extremely cunning and dangerous even though their country is deprived of anything to the outside world. Good thing their moves are snooped by the authorities even though they initially used bitcoin to cover tracks first. I just wonder what certain cryptocurrency ezchange are they talking about anyway?

North Korean hackers (which are most likely connected to the North Korean regime) can't go anything without the help coming from China.Anyway,I don't care about Kim Jong Un and his minions. It's good to know that there is justice and any crypto exchange hackers that manage to steal cryptocurrencies worth millions of dollars, will eventually get caught and punished by the law. There is a big black market of crypto/gift card buying and selling.I wonder why big companies like Amazon and Apple(owns iTunes) won't just stop selling their gift card codes.
4762  Economy / Economics / Re: Blockchain enterprise adoption will grow in 2020 on: March 05, 2020, 06:55:59 AM
Well, blockchain adoption doesn't always mean Bitcoin adoption. Most of the forum members and Bitcoin Core supporters want Bitcoin adoption.I don't care about blockchain adoption if it doesn't include Bitcoin.
Most of these news will remain just news. The actual implementation of blockchain technology will take years and the benefits of such implementation are yet to be discovered. And yeah,Coca Cola really sucks. Grin
4763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would You Rent A Car With Bitcoin? on: March 05, 2020, 06:37:18 AM
Hi guys, I'm working in the travel industry and recently found some global online travel agencies such as EasyRentCars start getting into crypto payments. I wonder how many crypto owners would be more interesting to purchase the service if the company accepts cryptocurrency? Would that be an effective feature?

No,in my country the car rental business is not popular at all.
It's just too expensive and not convenient.I would rather buy a used car than rent one.
I don't know about using BTC and crypto payments. There's the never ending anticipation that the Bitcoin price might skyrocket,so I would really regret if I spend 0.01 BTC on something like a car rental, but after a few days the BTC price goes up and I lose potential profits.I would rather use cash,if I had to rent something
4764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Could Be The Key To World Peace on: March 05, 2020, 06:20:00 AM
According to this post by Adrian Barkley, it says crypto can elevate the individual over the dominance of corporations and government due to the fact it is a decentralized asset. It further reiterated that people should focus on taking the power back for themselves, decentralizing power. And it starts with bitcoin instead of protesting on the streets, where the risk of getting injured or killed is a lot greater.

I am in 100% align with his belief or what did you think?

I think that the power and advantages of decentralization are a bit exaggerated.
I mean, yeah you have your own coins and you own your private keys, but so what? You still need to join a cryptocurrency exchange platform and deposit your coins there,in order to sell them.Crypto exchange platforms are corporations as well. They take a little part of your financial freedom, when you agree with their Terms of Services.
I really don't know how crypto can help for achieving world peace.Do you think that ISIS members and talibans from Afghanistan will become peaceful after they adopt BTC.This sounds absurd to me.
4765  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin Is Not a Viable Currency Option.q on: March 03, 2020, 12:43:17 PM
Bitcoin has a long way to go before it can become
viable, efficient, independent, and widely accepted. It
has major technological hurdles, and its acceptance in
society is currently limited at best. In its present state,
the bitcoin system is controlled by a few major mining
companies (it is too costly for individuals), traded through
a few major platforms (finding other bitcoin users without
a meeting place is difficult), and held in wallets provided
by various companies (holding your own key and ledger

Kinda ignorant opinion, with lots of BS.
What do you mean by efficient and independent? How do you define those 2 terms when it comes to BTC?
Bitcoin is secure, which is a priority over efficiency and nobody can have control over your BTC,if you have the private keys.
Miners and trading platforms don't reduce our freedom as bitcoin users. They might manipulate the prices, but they don't own the blockchain.

4766  Economy / Speculation / Re: How does price action really works? Traders are predicts? on: March 03, 2020, 12:25:52 PM
The Fibonacci numbers are not a magic answer for all the questions and some magic solution that will make you a market "oracle" and trading genius.
I agree with your thoughts about knowing yourself first, before you start analyzing other people's behavior and the cryptocurrency price movements.Everything is logic, but logic only is not enough to predict a market.
I think that your thread is a bit pointless and all over the place.
4767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Blockchain in Hollywood Movies on: March 03, 2020, 12:12:57 PM
I appreciate the fact that you did some research about BTC being mentioned in movies, but why should we care about this?
I'm not interested into watching movies and Hollywood produces lots of shitty and mediocre movies nowadays.
Why not turning to another big part of the pop culture-like  rap music. Grin
Bitcoin is mentioned by a few rappers in their songs.I remember that Royce Da 5'9 mentioned it in one song.

4768  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Drops $1,600 Amidst Global Uncertainty. What's next for BTC? on: March 03, 2020, 07:00:08 AM
Bitcoin is at an important juncture, sitting on weekly support and the 20 week moving average and yet the global markets seem poised for more downside. Will Bitcoin drop further or recover from here?

Full market thoughts here: https://www.cryptoadvocate.net/post/bitcoin-crypto-market-update-01-04-2020

Three days ago, some analysts were talking about a V-shaped price crash, which means big and fast crash, followed by fast price recovery.I don't agree with that. The price movements will be more like W-shaped.After the initial price crash there will be a small recovery followed by another price correction.Anyway, this is just a hypothesis and I'm not a guru, expert or market "oracle" analyst.
Based on what I hear in the news, the coronavirus panic is  slowly decreasing and the global stock markets will recover, crypto markets will follow this trend as well.
4769  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Sad News]: Nigerian shot dead after resisting robbers access to crypto phone on: March 03, 2020, 06:42:08 AM
It's definitely sad news to see a fellow Bitcoin supporter shot dead just because of owning it. You can never turn back time, it's important to take actions and precautions as early as now to prevent this kind of event happening. I did read the article and it's scary to think that this could happen to anyone. Be vigilant.

It's sad that this man died, but telling other people that you have bitcoins in a wallet in your phone is the most stupid thing to do.I would never tell anyone that I have bitcoins,I would never store them in a wallet in my Android device. How the hell they knew that he had 10K USD?Was he lying and bragging about having lots of BTC?You shouldn't tell other people how much money you have.Especially in a third world country.
4770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency intelligence program targetting P2P, darknet marketd and forums on: March 02, 2020, 12:41:44 PM
Quote
The proposal states that the CIP seeks to identify unlicensed capital flows taking place across peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplaces, online forums, and darknet markets

What the hell is an "unlicensed capital flow"?Investors are free to move their capitals in any jurisdiction they want.Capital owners shouldn't ask for any permission or license  issued by any government.
"Unlicensed money services" sounds like a BS term too.If I want to start a currency trading business, from where should I get a license? From the USA?I'm not a US citizen and I will never leave my country.
The US bureaucracy keeps expanding outside the borders of USA.If this isn't imperial behavior I don't know what is it.
4771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Protect your cryptocurrency, only means, protect your account. on: March 02, 2020, 12:12:00 PM
Well, there are so many ways for you to protect your money or account from hackers. I will list down all of the ways I know to prevent hackers from your account.
1. It would help if you created a strong password - do not create a simple password, try to put capital letters and characters or symbol on your password.
2. Add 2FA on your account - it is very recommended for everyone, once the hacker knows your account information, it will still be hard for them to access it because of 2FA.
3. Protect your computer - The main reason why we get hacked is because of an unsecured network, do not click untrusted advertisements or links to prevent viruses on your computer.
4. Keep your account on your self - only means do not share it with anyone.

Those 4 are my ways to secure my account; if you know more ideas on how to secure your account from hackers, feel free to comment is so we will all be benefited from it.

1.Strong passwords are a must,if the hackers use brute force software or some sort of social engineering.
However, having a strong password is not enough.
2.Two factor authentication is getting more and more compromised these days.Nevertheless,it's still a must.
3.Using Anti-virus and not clicking on suspicious links or banners-This is common sense, and it's about overall internet hygiene and security, not just crypto security.
4.Don't share your account-WTF dude?Sharing your account with someone else is the dumbest thing to do.
I think that even most wallets and crypto exchange platforms forbid the usage of one account by many people in their Terms of Service.
4772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and scaling on: March 02, 2020, 06:57:50 AM
Because, well, Bitcoin wouldn't "collapse" based on scaling and fees. It's pretty much just propaganda for shitcoin pump and dumpers. Bitcoin can and will scale through 2nd and 3rd layer solutions like Lightning[1]; it's just that it's not THAT ready currently, though there's definitely progress.

If you personally think that Lightning is still super complicated to use, you might want to check out the Phoenix[2] wallet.

[1] https://lightning.network/
[2] https://phoenix.acinq.co/

Yeah, but many true Bitcoin Core supporters will stay away from the Lightning Network and other 2nd and 3rd layer solution because they are centralized. In the eyes of Bitcoin Core Fanatics and crypto enthusiasts, centralization is viewed as "evil".Yes,centralization comes with it's own risks, but such view is pretty oversimplified.
Please don't fall into the BS that is promoted around the BCH and BSV altcoins. They are projects of Roger Ver  and supported by Faketoshi Wright. Those two just want to make some money and destroy Bitcoin Core. They don't care about scaling and lowering transaction fees.
Scaling is not an issue for Bitcoin Core.
4773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can porn sites make bitcoin more popular or will it brings negative effects? on: March 02, 2020, 06:16:49 AM
AFAIK a big platform like Chaturbate accepts bitcoin payments via Coinpayments.
I don't know about any other big porn platforms that accept cryptocurrency payments.
If you ask me,BTC adoption in the online porn industry doesn't have any positive or negative impact over bitcoin.BTC is accepted in the online gambling business for years and gambling addiction can be more damaging than porn addiction. Both industries have a bad image, but who cares, millions of people watch porn and play gambling games online everyday.
4774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT IF THE SOLUTION TO BTC MICRO PAYMENTS INCLUDED A TOKEN? on: March 01, 2020, 12:16:41 PM
Quote
The network consumes the token as a fee to power this whole process
and prevent spamming or Sybil attacks.

What token are you talking about? You say that this is not fork and not a new bitcoin client. What token?
Can you explain the process in a simple way,so that the people without technical blockchain knowledge understand what you are saying? If the escrow is with "no custody taken by any single party" then will the funds be released without the permission of the buyer?I'm kinda confused with your project,OP.
4775  Economy / Economics / Re: Can corona virus or any other epidemic disease can collapse Banking? on: March 01, 2020, 06:43:33 AM
Can coronavirus cause the collapse of banking? No,I don't think so.This is just a virus with 2-3% death ratio and people can get cured.
Can a serious pandemic disease cause the collapse of the banking system?Yes,if it has a really high death ratio and people can't get cured,of course it can,but we haven't witnessed such global plague that would destroy the global economy and finances.Coronavirus is definitely NOT such a dangerous pandemic virus.
4776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to protect bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from hackers. on: March 01, 2020, 06:29:17 AM
Smartphone apps are the most vulnerable, when it comes to security.
I have an Android device and I don't use cryptocurrency related apps(wallets, trading platforms, etc.) and I never will.Just use a PC with a good anti-virus +really strong passwords and you will be fine.
I never browse websites that have suspicious domain names(ending with weird domain extensions).
You should consider doing this as well.
Remember that,if a hacker targets you and wants to hack you,he will do it,in one way or another.
In most cases hackers don't care about you. They care about the big targets- crypto trading platforms, online wallet services, etc.
4777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Courts Will Seize BTC With Miners' Help: Self-Proclaimed Satoshi Craig Wright on: March 01, 2020, 06:08:22 AM
This is what he apparently said, though I'm not positive where it was taken from. It looks like a Slack chat room.
Quote
“The first BTC seizure by courts will occur this year. Not with keys. By miners (nodes) acting to fulfill a court order. Without keys, BTC will be confiscated. Code is law, and courts can mandate patching code. Bitcoin is not encrypted. It is economic.”

Not exactly in line with the whitepaper, is it?

Not at all possible, either. Good luck with some UK court forcing half of the miners in the world to validate an invalid transaction and also getting all the nodes in the world to go along with it.

If this was really possible, the trust that users have over Bitcoin will disappear really fast, thus the Bitcoin price will go down to 1USD,therefore the court will confiscate something worthless, which doesn't make any sense.
Anyway, the hypothesis of faketoshi is technically impossible to happen. He is just FUDing against Bitcoin Core again.Noting usual. He does this every day,for about 3 years,AFAIK.Can't we just ignore him for a while?
4778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ways in which you can promote bitcoin. on: February 29, 2020, 11:47:28 AM
There are many ways to promote bitcoin. You can watch this video (https://youtu.be/qzwf1AQxqM0) of mine to learn more on several ways in which you can contribute to the promotion of bitcoin. I hope the video is helpful because making it was like building Rome (Rome was not built in a day).😁😁
I'll be very grateful if you can list more ways so we all can have something we can do to support the growth of bitcoin. Thanks a lot for promoting bitcoin. Yea, that reminds me; you can make bitcoin arts too and publicise them.

What kind of 3D animation software did you use to create this video?
A video with 11 views and zero engagement isn't enough.Learn more about Youtube search engine optimization and use browser extensions like VidIQ or Tubebuddy.Improve your title, description and tags by adding more relevant keywords.
I think that most people with a computer have heard at least once in their life about Bitcoin(for the last 10 years). They just don't know how it works,so we should focus on education, rather that just saying "Hey,check out Bitcoin!"
4779  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Charts Are Garbage on: February 29, 2020, 11:29:30 AM
Anyone sick and tired of articles citing charts? I’ve been in stocks for 10 years and I know how to read them. Bitcoin/crypto isn’t candle based.

Perhaps the article authors are going a bad job interpreting those charts. That doesn't mean that the charts are shit, just the article authors(who in most cases aren't experts in technical analysis) usually suck.
You are right that the crypto charts have little to do with the stock charts, but that doesn't make them a useless instrument for market analysis. Can you refer to some low quality chart analysis articles that you don't agree with?
4780  Economy / Economics / Re: Amazon to accept bitcoin payments directly... the real breakthrough!? on: February 29, 2020, 07:19:12 AM
The question "When will Amazon accept bitcoin?" has been asked 1000 times on the forum and this topic keeps getting attention. Can't you people realize that Amazon will never accept bitcoin payments, because the authorities won't let them? They are a giant corporation that's tied to the current fiat credit/debit card system and they have no plans about creating their cryptocurrency or accepting any existing cryptocurrency.
We will continue using services like purse.io,when it comes to buying stuff on Amazon using BTC.
