4781  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: PSA: New electrum.org phishing attempt on: July 11, 2019, 03:27:52 AM
How did you find that electrum site?  Was it through google or electrum?  Because if you type in manually yourself
www.electrum.org
You should be fine right?
Yes.

FYI, the "eļectrum.org" is the ASCII version of punycode: "xn--eectrum-9hb.org" <--- Warning: phishing site.
It will be displayed as the latter if you're using Firefox with show_punycode enabled.

Try to type the original url on the right box here: https://www.punycoder.com/ then press "<<Convert to text" and it will be displayed as eļectrum.org.
4782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Fee estimation failed. Fallbackfee is disabled. Wait a few blocks or enable on: July 10, 2019, 02:45:29 AM
Method not found (code -32601)
From the same thread linked in BitMaxz' post: Re: Fee estimation failed. Fallbackfee is disabled....
You need to open bitcoin-qt or bitcoind, not bitcoin core gui's console.
T/N: If you set it to 0.0002, it will set the tx fee to 20sat/byte if the fee estimation still failed.

Or as the error said, "wait a few blocks" as your node must be a few blocks away.
4783  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lightning Support. on: July 09, 2019, 02:58:55 AM
I know there's a video of the developers explaining their LN implementation on Youtube...
AFAIK, there's indeed an optional 3rd-party server to handle LN transactions and to enable you to receive through your channel(s) even though your client is offline.

I will try to find it, I'll just edit this later.
Ehm, I can't tell which one is it, just pick one from google search: Google Search: electrum "lightning network" youtube  Tongue

I think vr_redist, is the problem somehow, i even uninstall this, but somehow i cant repair nor uninstall it.
You mean "vcredist"?
It should be named as "Microsoft Visual C++ (year) Redistributable" in the "Add or Remove Program" and not as the downloaded file's name.
But this file wasn't mentioned in the pre-requisites and somehow not related to the miner, just Microsoft .Net Framework  Undecided

BTW, the last commit was 29 June 2018, this was pretty much abandoned.
4785  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why few cryptocurrencies requires more no. of confirmations on the Blockchain? on: July 05, 2019, 02:41:35 AM
Just remember that "that" example 600 required confirmations for VET is only limited/required to the exchange, merchant or any 3rd-party services.
In their (Digital Currencies) Blockchains' protocol, one confirmation is as good as "sent".

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. I didn't understand what is a 51% attack and how it will affect the exchanges?
As for 51% attack, you might need to read more about "mining" to understand the written articles about it on the internet.

Basically, a malicious Pool/Miner who controls more than half (51%+) of the total hashrate (mining power) of the network could alter the newest block(s) in a variety of ways, the deeper the block, the harder it is to make an alteration (but even the latest block isn't an easy feat).
That's why merchants/exchanges want their transaction(s) buried in the blockchain as deep as possible.
4786  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How will Minors survive when all BitCoins are Mined? on: July 03, 2019, 03:51:54 AM
To give you a quick look at the average reward after "that" happened, you can just look at the current blocks' coinbase transaction's output and deduct the "Block Reward" from it.

For example:
Block #583560 has this coinbase transaction: a1a57bb8a361bf6c59275eef61d02185c1769ba99e936679105e022f0c9fa11e with an output amount of 13.21486332 BTC.
Deduct the current block reward from it which is 12.5BTC.
The miner's "Transaction fee earning" is 0.71486332BTC.

By that time, we hope that the value of BTC become phenomenal or else.... the total network hashrate might plummet, thus the Blockchain's security against 51% attack.
4787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Miner or pool adds a 0 to my wallet address on: July 02, 2019, 03:47:53 AM
Are you seriously considering that 0.5% less dev fee version of Claymore miner in exchange for a possible security risk?
That's not open-source and the developer had never shared the code (he just explained it here | & here) but still, it's already compiled.

Anyways, check what's set in the bat file.
My two cents is your address might be missing 1 character (42 characters including the 0x), that's why claymore is adding 0 after the "0x".
You have to stop the miner before changing the address though.
4788  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 01, 2019, 02:32:17 AM
I don't know the display type used in all of those headsets, but I believe many of them use OLED and I'm 99% sure all OLED use PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) which is insanely bad for your eyes.  Displays with PWM cause my eyes to hurt looking at them for just 5-10 minutes.
-snip-
Earlier models, yes.
But I'm sure that the latest (Oculus Rift S) uses LCD display not because of the radiation issues (or they didn't want to disclose it) but for the reduced screen-door effect.
4789  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is there any way to add a change address to Electrum Offline Android wallet? on: June 29, 2019, 06:34:19 AM
Would be a solution IF Electrum Android allowed me to create a transaction using an specific address, which it doesn't. The ANDROID watch-only wallet has no option to spend from that specific address, or does it?
So, it's for verification then? Android version can't do that.

You can just create a "watch-only single address wallet" in your PC and create the unsigned raw transaction,
then import it to your cold storage Android Phone for signing.
If you don't have a PC, you can ask someone to create the raw Tx for you as they will only need that change address and the recipient's address.

Or is this an implicit feature request for Android version?
4790  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin transaction on: June 28, 2019, 03:50:31 AM
For example.
After those many transactions from multiple receiving addresses, I decided to send all my bitcoin from my x wallet to another wallet.
So, my total input in a transaction are all the addresses that still have unspent bitcoins.

A small correction to your example scenario: It will be based on the number of unspent outputs (UTXO) from your "inbound transactions" not from the number of addresses alone (as they said: there's no addresses in the protocol level).
If you've used an address to receive BTC multiple times, it will have multiple UTXO and that address will display multiple times in the "send-all transaction" as inputs.

Quote from: GreatArkansas
My questions are:
1.) What are the pros/cons of changing my receiving address for every time I receive a bitcoin to my Hierarchical Deterministic wallet?
2.) I also noticed that if you have much input in one transaction, the transaction size gets bigger, then it requires some huge fee to confirm my transaction.(Let's say my example transaction above is executed).

4791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need PSU 1800w++ on: June 26, 2019, 12:02:39 PM
In terms of longevity, use a server PSU as much as possible because it was built to run 24/7.

Using multiple ATX PSUs will work but most of those have less efficiency than server PSU even with 80+ Gold standard rating.
But in terms of efficiency, the percentage is always the same whether you're using one or more PSUs and in the end, it will be based on the total efficiency rating.

Example: a 1000W ATX PSU with 80% efficiency could waste 20% (200W) of the energy into heat and to reach 2000W by using two, they could waste double (400W).
In comparison, a 2000W server PSU with 80% efficiency could also waste the same 400W of power.
4792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: i have lost 0.03 btc in BitPay Please help me on: June 25, 2019, 03:01:58 AM
BitPay send me this: 9c0f064ed686539c48dfd20d7f80b9d9d1f8519e0ce14d9b5e3a9ee4e5ac06f3

They send me 0.02941 btc to my wallet but the problem is the same the BTC don't appear i don't know why they send to an non-existent wallet as you can everyone check the recipient wallet adresse where they send the BTC is not valid: bc1qlxcs73gaq4dsqaynvdv2awj8luuqnfgg8ru086 one agent of Bitpay say he can't send to another wallet what i want why ?
I'm blocked until 19 may and i can't answer to their mail i need always reopen ticket talk with an angent who really answer fast and never heard me im very disapointed of BitPay it's look like they don't want understand my problem.
There is one big problem with this: Bitpay's agent or Bitpay's server doesn't have an access to your private keys for them to send your funds to another wallet for you.
Plus, your screenshot's recent transaction's timestap is kinda weird (the upper-most received transaction's date is June19).

This is a big red flag IMO.
Where did you downloaded the wallet or what email/customer service have you contacted?
4793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: i have lost 0.03 btc in BitPay Please help me on: June 24, 2019, 01:54:12 PM
nc50lc

How can i recover the wallet like you said ? And are you sure it can resolve my problem ?
The last sentence of my post comes with a link to Bitpay's support page with step-by-step guide on how to get the xprv key to be able to import the private keys to another wallet with import master private key option (ex. Electrum), just choose from option 1 or 2.

If Bitpay's "12-word passphrase backup" is BIP39 SEED, you can directly import it to any wallet that supports BIP39 SEED to be able to spend that address' missing balance.

Use it as the last resort; for now, focus on restoring the balance of your Bitpay wallet natively.

Clearing the cache didn't worked, have you tried to let it open for a couple of minutes? (in case of internet connection issues)
-Update-
The output was now spent, I guess clearing the cache had solved the issue?
4794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: i have lost 0.03 btc in BitPay Please help me on: June 24, 2019, 03:05:15 AM
Hello thanks for the help !

I put here the screenshot of my wallet wher we can see clearly all transactions

Now the two transactions txid :
0.00266 btc
9514e705e2d70627eed05436867d70d877fe577196163b6d84d409fe73117092

0.0363btc
e9eaafce46b6ab63a532f9aa1cfe7efbf2af36746dbd1e0942563853fbdced05
From the looks of it, these set of transactions weren't the issue.
Tx1 was spent from the change of Tx2 which completely spend your 0.0363btc deposit.

The issue is the other "recus" in history with a value of 0.0296BTC that was missing in the total balance.

You can check the transaction ID yourself by pasting it in the search box in the links on your quoted post above.
If the balance is still there "unspent" (green), the issue must be on the wallet's cache like BitMaxz said.
If it was "spent" (red), it must be something else.

Looks like this is the 0.0296BTC deposit's transaction ID: 0c3ead295d2a69fceeca756735b5ee0721482bdef8f5c438e78d5f7d56b94c60.
If it is, it's Bitpay wallet's issue because it is still unspent.
Don't worry, you can always recover the private key(s) including the funded address if things gone wrong.

4796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Verifying Invalid Transactions on: June 21, 2019, 11:30:28 AM
But what happens next after this?
Where/How does the network verify?
The "network" consists of all the nodes, each have a copy of the full (or partial) "blockchain" which is a chain of blocks where the UTXO (unspent outputs) are "recorded".

So, having a copy of the blockchain, every transaction that they will (usually automatically) save to their own mempool and relay to other nodes should have a valid UTXO, signature, specific preferences, etc. or else, it will be rejected and wont reach other/mining nodes.

Hope you get this.
4797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Any idea how long will it take for this transaction to confirm? on: June 21, 2019, 06:42:55 AM
I always add my BTC transaction to a Bitcoin accelerator for free and very often the transaction is processed very quickly. For instance https://bitaccelerate.com/  http://confirmtx.com/

Meh, the only working free/paid accelerator online that I know is viaBTC, others are fakes or rebroadcaster marketed as accelerator.

Your examples:
bitaccelerate isn't an accelerator, they unintentionally self-confessed that they are using the term "accelerate" incorrectly through this message on their page:
Quote from: bitaccelerate.com
Our service will rebroadcast the transaction via 10 Bitcoin nodes.
confirmtx is probably a scam and their thread has been receiving a lot of warnings and bad experiences from users.

type: dumpprivkey "change address" to get the change's address privatekey.
You probably want to tell him the do's and don'ts on the private key, also what to do after retrieving it  Wink

Newbies have a tendency to mishandle sensitive data if not instructed well.
4799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cgminer issue on: June 19, 2019, 03:16:20 AM
Can you share what you've typed in the "user URL" (excluding the username/password)?
Make sure to read your selected pool's proper command for cgminer, it may be different depending on the pool.

Something like this:
Code:
cgminer -o http://POOL-URL:PORT -u usern*** -p passw***

Also, this should be moved to Mining (Altcoin).

I have taken the screenshot, but struggling to attach it to this post can anyone assist me hiw to do that?
You need to at least become a Jr Member to be able to attach screenshots/images to posts.

Just try to enclose them inside [img][/img] tag now and it will be posted as links.
The images will be displayed after ranking up (30 activity & 1 merit); or buy a copper membership to lift your newbie restrictions.

On topic FYI, correction are always expected after a price surge, care to be more specific and detailed?
