This thread should be locked down because the OP is simply trying to spread FUD so he can fill his bag with cheap ETH. Why do people think he has an interest in cheap coinage.

TPBP why do you think he's a pumper?its clear ether has the highest chances at reaching mainstream success,even though it has its problems.Me,i just have a very small bag and i really hope these "pumpers" really dump so i can get more.And,fortunately for those like me,a dump wouldnt kill it because,unlike 99% of the cryptos out there,like LTC,thats nothing but pure wannabe bitcoin speculation,people cannot be fooled twice with a really big pump like LTC had (ive read it was around ~50$) and then left for dead,and maybe,maybe,wait a while so people can forget and attempt a smaller pump to milk it again and again.And before you say,but if they dump eth they ll be out of funds,well,dont be naive and think they ll only think about funding themselves by selling ether only when it would have reached its bottom.
Ignore him. He is simply trying to shout down anyone who knows and understands the power of the Ethereum technology simply so he can buy in on the cheap and fill his own bag. He came late to the party and now he understands that Ethereum has a brighter future than BTC. |

You can use geth and create an account and start experimenting that way.
Thanks for your advice. As for geth, I need to wait for it to get fully synced to be able to use it right? (like Mist wallet) Because, I have made an account but each time I open geth with "geth console" command, it quickly displays a message that says: Block Synchronization Started.  close the window that's syncing then open another and use geth for the account. I wasn't fully synced to use a geth account. |

I can't say I understand ETH either, nor any of the other cryptocurrencies but I'm not a big investor either and I don't need a PhD in cryptography to use bitcoin. As I said in the other thread I will watch TPTB's predictions closely even without understanding fully his arguments. I am not that smart.
Do not be a fool thinking he doesnt have his own reasons.Yes ethereum has its own problems but thats the reason its still developing and most problems will be sorted out.As i said,hes either looking for a job at eth,or maybe trying to release his own crypto.And most likely stashing some ether for rainy days. And its obvious for everyone no matter how new we are into cryptos that ethereum is the most likely project out of every other project out there to really become succesful and reach mainstream succes.The only threat to it are the devs themselves or maybe some other revolutionary crypto that would dwarf eth's potential. I think that once great dapps like slick.it and Augur are released later this year then everyone will see the potential. Unfortunately by then for most on here the price will have skyrocketed out their reach. |

Sorry I cannot help you as I use the geth CLI. That too takes time to sync.
I have tried Geth as well but I am facing the same issues as you mate. If there were something similar like a bootstrap.dat (like in Bitcoin) where you could download and place on the appdata directory, then it would really speed things up. Is there any way to download blockchain files? (chaindata directory) Not that I am aware of, unless you had a friend offer one up. It took me about 2-3 hours from scratch to download everything and get up and running. I recently had to reinstall a Bitcoin wallet and the download took close to two days, so to me this was a breeze (A bit paranoid with security so I don't trust bootstrap files). Of course a lot of it will depend on your connection speed, but now that the Ethereum blockchain data files are close to 10 GB, it will take a while. Thanks for your reply. I am just going to leave the Mist wallet running on my PC for several hours until ti finishes sync. I hope that in the future, as the Ethereum blockchain grows, we will get the ability to sync faster (or maybe blockchain could be compressed for less space and faster sync rates.) As soon as I am synced, I will transfer some ETH into it and experiment with the wallet itself. You can use geth and create an account and start experimenting that way. |

That is 50% more than the current price. It seems there are many optimism in the Ethereum community. In 2013 and 2014 people thought bitcoin will go to 10 000 by end of the 2014. ETH is not BTC. It has greater potential and better more supportive community. |

Maybe your correct TS, as ETH dips more and more are watching or monitoring closely this move. But I am optimistic that ETH has a great potential to gain more but maybe its a speculation and personal ideas.
I would buy as much ETH as possible right now as the bottom has been reached of this great tech. |

Firstly don't blame other people for your own inadequacies. Secondly if you read the website and still don't understand nor appreciate the vast potential in Ethereum then I suggest you stay away from it until a Dummies Guide is published. When the Internet and email first came out the dumb people questioned why they'd need it. Today these very same individuals post dumb selfies on Instagram and mind numbing liked on Facebook. Sometimes you need the vision and intelligence to look behind the organ grinders curtain.

So this article is telling me that "two Bitcoin giants" who were on the same side along took a 'swing' at the Core developers? Very helpful indeed. People really need to reduce the amount of the unneeded drama. The network is still working as intended.

At this moment, there's an epic BUY wall on Poloniex just waiting to eat the sell side alive.  Yup I've been watching this wall of money build up over the evening. The weak hands have been shaken out the tree. Yes, I think people new to trading do not realize that price does not always go straight up. One thing to keep in mind is that if someone (a whale) wanted to accumulate a lot of coins, you can't just go and buy them up at once and be done with it. As we seen 2 days ago, the sell orders were getting thin and the price kept rising, not a good thing if you want to buy loads of Eth cheaply. Best thing is to let the price settle back down, and hope that people become spooked and start putting up asks at lower and lower prices, which is what is happening now. The amount of Eth for sale on the order-books has increased and the ask prices have fallen. If this was a true dump or someone cashing out as many imply, you would know it. Just look at other coins history's, or even BTC and the end of the 1200 pump, and when you see a vertical plunge down to 50% or more in value in one go you will know it is for real and someone or someones are cashing out. Indeed. What we are really seeing is just a market functioning as correctly with both up and downward movements. The news and tech behind Ethereum is too strong for this not to be the beginning of some amazing dapps. |
