4781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A new survey shows that UKs gambling addiction is getting worst day by day. on: May 19, 2020, 11:21:58 PM
How did they know that all 1.4 M people under survey are all gamblers "with a problem".

Are these gamblers already in the facility? It wasn't mentioned in the article.

What if some of those are responsible gamblers. I couldn't it as worst as long as these gamblers know what they are doing.
4782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FOX prepared to add virtual fans and crowd noise to NFL broadcasts on: May 19, 2020, 11:00:15 PM

The plan is honestly good and actually no harm at all if it will be implemented. Well, really expect that kind of new changes at some sports leagues as we are now entering a new normal until the virus is here and freely roaming around the globe. If they can do it, then good.

“It would be different for sure if we had to play the game with no fans,” Cox said. “I think at the same time, we have to understand that health is a priority. And we have to look at our health. If we have to have to play games without fans, it’ll be something to get used to.”

The statement actually makes sense.

Lutz was a good defender as well, if I am not mistaken, he was part of the first 5 of the SMB line up? and he was just on and off because of injury, IIRC, I've seen him played with Marcio Lassiter in a line up, and this guy is quick as well. I checked on google and he is already 35 years old now, this means his life with the PBA is very short in case he will come back, but it would give a boost of the current line up and they need that since Fajardo is out, they will be a faster team now.

First of all, he is not an SMB player anymore so if he will come back, he will play for the Meralco Bolts, the team that signed him after SMB.

But for let's say the subject here is playing with SMB, that will be a bad move for SMB. 2 years of break, coming from injury, not ready to play yet, almost in the retirement season, why should they sign him. They even put Lutz as an unrestricted free agent.

I see that his desire for a comeback is not 100% but just a consideration. He likes to play but injuries keeping him off.

After all, he has a nice run as a PBA player with 3 championships.
4785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker games that are providing free plays to earn real money on: May 18, 2020, 10:56:01 PM
this one is actually worth playing:

they have been running a 0.04 BTC weekly password-protected freeroll for bitcointalk members, with an added bounty on steve's head. it happens on wednesdays at 7pm GMT. it's a nice little bankroll booster if you can make it to the final table.

keep an eye on their thread for the tourney announcement. if you snooze, you lose---no late registrations.

I'm not aware of this.

Thanks for sharing. I will look into details.

I like to target that weekly.

The main clarification: will there be any problems with the withdrawal of real money from these sites? Has anyone encountered this already?

Actually you can have a test run and see for yourself.

After all, the only thing that will be waste here is time.
4786  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does Gambling really mean to you? on: May 18, 2020, 10:35:41 PM
1. I wanna ask you guys are there any other definitions for you about what gambling is?

What do you mean by "other definitions"? You mean to say, self-definition?

This will vary per person. As to my own purpose is to always get winnings if possible. I'm not into gambling for entertainment purely.

2. What are/is the accurate definition of gambling on you based on the definition above?

You already stated the general definition of what gambling is. That's enough.

From personal experience of mine
* Gambling for me is something you have the chance of winning the prize or any value, if there is no chance then you're not gambling. Gambling requires that there is a chance you might win something for your bet.

This statement confused me, are there any forms of gambling without a chance to win? Or can you give me an example of what are these things?

Obviously, when you gamble, you always have a chance to win either between 0.00001 to 99999+% success rate.

If I will buy the story that LeBron is afraid of making clutch shots, then it's better not to take those. It's a good idea if he passes the ball instead. That's a great decision. What matters here is his overall performance on that game.

Overall performance matters but what matters is the team to win especially if you are the star player.
Fans would just like to see a star player taking the last shot as they normally see it in other teams as well, like Kobe and Jordan, they take the ball and made the last shot if possible.

I am not against Lebron, I like him but as a fan, we are bias to look only what we like to see and that makes us like Kobe or Jordan over Lebron.
but of course it could change, maybe now that he is with the Lakers, and he can give success to this team, then he will be a Hero and people will forget that his Cavaliers loss easily against the Warriors in his last previous finals appearance.

Of course and obviously, while giving the best performance, a team needs to win. But it doesn't mean that a star player will always take the last shot. When this becomes a necessary thing to do? It's a 5v5.

It's just become highlighted because it's about MJ, Kobe, and Lebron. We all know that MJ and Kobe is a much more clutch compare to LeBron. No doubt about that. He is not even good at the rainbow area back then compare to MJ and Kobe. But again, not a big deal.

James is almost out of his prime and we already see how good he is throughout his playing career "even without that clutch ability" as others believed. He carries team, he is an all-around and that's it. MJ, Kobe, and LeBron do have their own way of playing.
4791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: May 15, 2020, 11:52:23 PM
We might be disappointed because however beautiful his system is but he don't have the kind of player suitable for this, then it's useless.

You have a valid point here. But exposing Gilas players to a system that they aren't used to might change the phase of the game compare sticking to their usual. Tab knows the majority of all Gilas players so he already has that idea where he will assign a player on a specific role.

But if in 2023 he could get the likes of Kai Sotto, Jalen Green, Jordan Ckarkson, Remy Martin and AJ Edu this could be huge to Philippine basketball.

That was a tough job and I doubt Tab have that big influence for that to happen. But who knows and I hope too that will happen. A big boost to our National team.

Jordan Clarkson as an NBA player, under contract, will surely again go in a tough process before he will be allowed to play for the country.

As for Jalen Green, I don't know if he will meet the FIBA eligibility requirements to be considered a Filipino citizen. But for other international cups, maybe he will be considered.

For Remy Martin, he is somehow eligible as he has dual citizenship. But our Nationals already have lots of guards although we need young ones.

AJ Edu is a big thing. At his height, he is athletic and defensive. The National should get this kid in the future.

Kai Sotto, no comment for now. Still watching his progress.
4792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: May 15, 2020, 11:34:03 PM

Clutch shot average and attempts as a basis of who's the greatest is not making sense.

MJ, Kobe, and LeBron do have their own way of thinking in crucial situations. LeBron is surely on the bottom in terms of taking clutch shots as even on my observations, he has done that less compare to those 2 greats but I don't think that's a big deal.

If I will buy the story that LeBron is afraid of making clutch shots, then it's better not to take those. It's a good idea if he passes the ball instead. That's a great decision. What matters here is his overall performance on that game.

I will keep posting 2 odds on match day... Not everyday...
I will do bet myself or I will not but always keep posting the tip with imgur apps you can see my screenshot

Much better if you will compile it all for at least a month to see your average.

And what sports will you cover? As we all know, the majority of all sports are suspended.

Yes, there are local sports in some of the countries but still, it's good to include major events to your portfolio so it might take time before you can build good stats.

Anyways, goodluck. Continous winning at @1.8 to @2 is really tough.
4794  Economy / Economics / Re: The unfortunate event that is Quarantine. on: May 15, 2020, 10:41:40 PM
Quarantine was not done properly , it is not the solution. People will soon starve and won't be able to pay of bills . With the loans from colleges and schools , kids will be deprived of a good future.

Wrong. Quarantine and lockdown were done properly. Definitely not a solution but at least it's working.

People will soon starve, who are these? Those who got unemployed? We are not talking about they are jobless for a year so at least they can keep up with the situation for at least half a year, I hope but there is no choice. Look at those beggars, they are jobless for many years prior to the pandemic virus but still can think of a way how to survive a day. I have known some people who are struggling financially right now and it's just 2 months since we put up on quarantine so how can they survive for the next months? Depending on the situation, still, the government is helping us plus and it's not totally zero business here so somehow people can think of a plan on how to make some financial source even how small it is.

Just trust the process and I know all countries in the world are doing the best to ease the spread of the virus.
4795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto PaiGaw gambling on: May 15, 2020, 10:12:38 PM
I searched the forum and some info on pai gow poker but I decided to post because it didnt answer my question. I am in search for an online casino that accepts crypto deposit and withdrawal (preferably bitcoin) and play pai gaw. From what I read ppl recommend betcoin.tm but i am interested in finding something similar to this Pai Gow Poker Online "guide" and get some extra bonus with my deposit. Or if you know any casino that gives a great welcome bonus, thats ok too.

Referring to the review site you have mentioned, there are casinos there on the list which have a Pai Gow Poker and accept bitcoin as one of their payment methods e.g Fastpay Casino, Winz Casino, etc.

I didn't check the other sites on the list that accepts bitcoin so you do the checking and find some reviews. This is a must thing to do before depositing your money.

As for the great welcome bonus, I don't know what bonus you will consider as of great based on your preferences so better check each of the sites.

4797  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New to trading on: May 15, 2020, 09:10:03 PM
Hello All,

I was hoping to get some advice as I am brand new to crypto and trading. So if I have bought an Altcoin or bitcoin at a higher price than it is now should I sell and buy the dip or does crypto not work like that? I am trying to find the best way to start making small profits.

Any help is appreciated.

Buy low Sell high - a simple term but difficult to execute. Basically, this will be your purpose if you are aiming for profits either for the long or short term.

This will be your task so you really need to make up your own strategy. For reference, you can watch trading tutorials as a start. You need to feed your mind first with some basics. As you proceed, you will now finally think up of your own way then test it by applying in actual trade.

I can't tell you exactly what approach you need to do as we have different ways to deal with the market. That's why as I mentioned, watch trading basics first to somehow get a preview of what will you encounter along the way.
4798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling issues? Read this! on: May 15, 2020, 08:49:29 PM

Nothing against the thread but this will surely be ignored by those who are totally addicted.

They need a serious approach and that will only be done if someone will help them personally and that will start from their family, friend, and close ones.

Becoming a responsible gambler is really difficult to achieve but experiencing sh*t many times while doing gambling is the best experience and foundation for that to happen.
4799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: May 14, 2020, 08:18:04 PM
So is "skill-based" really a thing? Anything gambling-related has an element of luck in it, it's not like cooking where you master it the more you cook - you may get better at it, but with gambling there's still some luck you also have to depend on.

That's why skills should be applied to have that luck comes to you. I can't call it "there should be luck we also have to depend on" on skill-based games.

For example in poker, I have a bad set of cards, definitely unlucky. But with the skills I have, I can turn the table based on my decision and good strategy. Another good example is Chinese poker, even the dealer does have, for let's say a flush at the bottom and a straight at the middle, I can still beat that. Luck really matters but not a thing you have to depend on in terms of skill-based gambling.

Another good example in MOBA games, teams are lucky if they were able to control the game for at least 60% to 70% in early phase. But not just they literally rely on luck but they are just good in their execution and plays.
4800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: May 14, 2020, 07:43:54 PM
They are still not mentioning anything if there is a plan or changes in the format.
There is no time frame into when they could resume the league so there must be something there.
Like in case they go back July, how can they squeeze the remaining games in it?
What if August or September?

Yes, that was a big task. 15-20 games left to play this season are important especially at those teams battling in the bottom spot of the playoffs. And it's not that easy to decide if those teams from 12th to 15th, or let's say 13th to 15th will automatically be eliminated when NBA resumes.

But reading the topic about salary deduction that will take effect on May 15th....
Quote
If the league cancels the remainder of the regular season and jumps right into the playoffs, players likely will see the 25% paycheck reduction increase as high as 40%. If the league cancels the entire season, including the postseason, players are projected to lose more than $1 billion in total salary.

... it looks like the possibility of pushing through the playoffs without playing the remaining game this season is possible as they already fixed the terms for the pay cut just in case. I don't know how teams at the bottom will react to this if ever that plan of heading straight to Playoffs will be push.

It's really hard to decide when there is no timeline or at least good progress about the status of the pandemic virus.
