481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: $2300 for ethereum mining. on: October 20, 2017, 02:53:02 PM
Hello Zarados,

I've been down that road a couple of months ago and I ended up building a 10 GTX 1060 rig for a little bit more than your budget.

Why GTX 1060 ? Simply because it gives the best ROI, it can produce 23MH/s (with Samsung memory) for 200$ or less. It's very power efficient, I have limited mines to 75W each and the whole rig takes 850W from the wall (all included: motherboard, ssd, gpu, ...)

GPU:
eVGA GTX 1060 (199$)

Motherboard:
Asrock Mining motherboard 13PCIe (141.95$)

SSD:
120Gb SSD (59.99$)
If you do not intend to sync the blockchain, you can take a smaller one.

Memory:
8 Gb memory (59$)
You can take a cheap one here, it's not so important unless you want to run many applications at the same time

CPU:
Low end Celeron cpu (39$)
Unless you want to do something else than mining, you don't need a powerful cpu

PSU:
I decided to take a server PSU to provide power and reliability. I took one from parallel miners:
2400W psu (119$)
2400W is overkill for that price it's unbeatable

PSU:
I took a small and cheap PSU for the motherboard
EVGA 450W PSU (37.89$)
It's a bronze one, you can take a better one if your budget affords it

PCIe risers:
I took some cheap ones from aliexpress:
PCIe risers (30$ for 6, 60$ for 12)
I bought extra cables to connect those risers directly to the server PSU

Total for a 10 GPU Rig:
2447.83$
You can probably go a little bit below by chosing a cheaper motherboard, memory and SSD but I would keep the amount of GPU because that's how you're going to make the money.

Important remarks:
- I did not have to buy a keyboard, mouse or screen, I already had spares
- I'm using Ubuntu, it's free
- you need to have Samsung memory but you can probably use Amazon's return policy (I did it with Amazon France)
- how you put everything together is up to you. I use aluminium bars but I've seen rigs made of wine racks, shoe racks, ...
- you need to include power costs in your ROI calculation. I have solar power.

And the result is the following:

I currently make between 12 and 13$ / day but it will go down as soon as the difficulty rises.

Enjoy!

Interesting, but I have some questions about your mining rig. Why you use 2 PSU while I thought one PSU is enough, Is it because you use 10 GPUs? or you have any other reasons. And how much your electricity cost/month. And how much time to get ROI with this mining rig. Because with this GPUs price ( GTX 1060 3 gb) I also could get it more than 6 with my capital.

I would like to do a GPU mining and I have a capital of about $ 2300. But I need a recommendations from experienced people to choose a better device for mining ethereum. My choice is in Shapire RX 480 for GPU, what do you think, please tell me your opinion.

The best advice is to go with the GPUs that you can get for a good price.
RX 470/480 , RX 570/580 , GTX 1060, 1070 are the best VGAs for ETH mining.
Radeons can easily do 29-31 MH/s whereas 1060 will perform around 24 MH/s and 1070 = 29-31 MH/s.
Radeons will require some tweaking and such to get the best results while 1060, 1070 is just an overclocking away to achieve the above results.

well, After I calculate the cost of your GPUs recomendation, I've found that I could get 5-6 Rx 480, while I could get 2-3 GTX 1070. And the hashrate was not so different. Can you give me an explanation which better, mining with 5 Gpu or 3 Gpu with the same hashrate. I thougt that minig with 5 gpu will cost more electricity power than 3 gpus, while you could minimize damage to the gpu which is divided into 5 parts. What are you guys thought?

484  Economy / Economics / Re: A wise strategy for your bitcoin on: October 19, 2017, 06:33:02 AM
.375BTC does not have much of a difference in what you have now which is .384BTC a .009BTC difference. Not to mention that you don't profit in the short term of what you are doing, selling half on profit hoping to see a dump is a bad idea because you really don't know when it will rise back up or if it will ever rise back up. This strategy is good if you are looking to accumulate more Bitcoin in the long run but this strategy will be better if you are selling all of your Bitcoin in order to have more profit in the next price increase.

I have realized this before. therefore, I have tried to sell all my assets rather than just securing my capital. and yes, I got more profit for that. but I also think about the value plus of my strategy. When I have sold my bitcoin by securing the amount of my capital, and then the price turns up, I can sell the rest. It makes the accumulation of sales price increases.

Short term trading is kinda like grabbing pips on charts. This type activity mainly called as scalping.Scalping is not worth your time if you can earn same amount with long term investing.Your eyes will stuck on screen of notebook and you will get tired frequently.Short term trading is not suitable for everyone.

i think scalping can work and can give a good earning if we have some skill to follow the price up and down because once you get stuck in the price while the price is moving down, then you only can waiting the price is up again and sometimes you need to wait for more longer. sometimes i am doing scalping but i don't doing more than 10x and i think or my feeling says its better to stop then i will leave the coins without having any coins in my wallet because its empty for my last selling and so far, i am make good profit.

There's always be a risk for this investment. Even other strategy could be more risky than this. I can't say that a long term investment could be more profitable than any other strategy. Because there's no one knows when this crypto currency will crash and dead, Probably 5 years or more? And a short time trading like this, was also a risky strategy. So, As long as you're still investing on crypto currency, you're  already decide to doing a risky investment.
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining software for Android on: October 19, 2017, 03:11:42 AM
I don't really understand why people are making Mining software for android, while smart phone functions are only for communicating, though now they can also enjoy high quality games. But still, I think the smartphone is not a land or container for mining crypto currency.with the specifications and the current price of smartphone, I do not think it will be worth the income gained from mining using smartphone.
486  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price fall below $5,500. on: October 18, 2017, 11:52:06 AM
I thought it is just a small correction, I believe It wouldn't be fall below $5k. Probably the next fork on november would be a determinant that the price are continue to fall or jumpt again and hit a new All Time High. Other speculation says that the next fork would be a next crash of bitcoin price. But I couln't assure that since it's just a speculation.
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC is dead. The plan is a shift to Bitcoin Cash. on: October 17, 2017, 05:50:29 AM
BTC may not recover, but instead money will flow back to the superior, original bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash. Buy bitcoins now for under $400 again! Watch for the BCC related conference coming up this week. Huge things ahead! Don't be in the dark on these developments!

When you post this thread on 14th september, It was the day when bitcoin hit its bottom on september, And the next day, was a beginning of its recover. Meanwhile, in the middle of this october, Bitcoin come back to hit new all time high. Its Close to $6k. It means that your speculation about the plan to shift to bitcoin cash was totally wrong. I know that bitcoin cash still traded in most exchange. But Don't you realize that it's diving slowly to the deep?.
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: myetherwallet on: October 17, 2017, 02:19:29 AM
let's just say, gas as the cost of shipping ethereum you got to another ethereum address. the more gas you give, the faster your coin will sent.
myetherwallet is often used to buy ICOs, because in it you can add new custom tokens that support ERC20 as well as ethereum.
You can also access your wallet by saving the private key or UTC file provided when you first create a new wallet. hope this helps.
489  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When do YOU sell? on: October 17, 2017, 02:09:06 AM
While you're doing a long term investment, I believe that you have a specific target time to cash out some of your asset or even all of your asset. Just Like I did, I will decide to cash out some of my crypto currency asset in around 5 years forward, and left the rest for my old age. Even So, I would like to sell it when it's on a peak price in that time. That's why, the long term investment are better than other strategies. The other side, I also doing active trade with my 20% of wealth.

491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will that be? on: October 16, 2017, 12:02:42 PM
You gotta be kidding me, Even 50% of your wealth are very risky to used for investing in bitcoin or other cryptocurrency. I will assume that was a gambling not an investation. There's nothing could guarantee when the price will crash and never recover like its common habits. If the price of the bitcoin was skyrocketing, it will be a huge profit. But if it's not, It will be a huge loss, Wasn't it a gamble? All in, and wait for the result.
492  Economy / Speculation / Re: Investor Predicts Bitcoin Price to Hit $27k in Four Months on: October 16, 2017, 01:33:52 AM
Price of the bitcoin has jump from around $650 to around $5.7k this year and there a couple month left. So I thought $27k are make sense for next year. But I dont think bitcoin will reach that price with just four month. Well, we dont know what would happen next, but I know that bitcoin always prove its power, and we always underestimate bitcoin. Of course everyone are glad to see thats truly happening. But don't forget, It is just a speculation.
493  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC speculation before fork on: October 16, 2017, 01:08:45 AM
before hardfork ?
Bitcoin price should in the middle between our peak and our bottom,
for now we're not yet see this, because we're steadily increasing at the moment.
but if we're guessing it,i bet we should see it around $4800~5200 no more than that.
just look at our pump right now,
it's a bit too hard and forced in my opinion, usually if the price is pumped that hard,,
we should see a 'big' retrace later on

the same as my opinion, this is already the fourth week of bitcoin rising trend, and I think there will be no increase again.
Next there will be a correction, as you say, the price will stabilize at the midpoint between the peak and bottom prices. I thouht This will continue until november.
494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft accepting BITCOIN ??!! on: October 16, 2017, 12:43:45 AM
this is exciting news. microsoft is one of the largest companies in the world, and with the adoption of bitcoin by them, this is certainly a trigger for other large companies to come to use it. And that means the popularity of bitcoin will skyrocket. and of course this is very influential on the increase in price.
495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taking Courses to learn about Bitcoin on: October 15, 2017, 12:43:20 PM
I thougt we don't need a course about bitcoin to become success investor in it. All we need is start to invest immediatly, and along with the time, you will slowly understand about it, And which strategy are good to used for it. Learning by experience was better than other learning, because you do it by yourself, and you will remember how it works forever.
496  Economy / Economics / Re: A wise strategy for your bitcoin on: October 15, 2017, 09:48:02 AM
Just take a look for date 15 every month , you can see the value increase and decrease !
As for now before bitcoin reach 15 Oct, the value already increase so for next 15 Nov, bitcoin value will decrease !!
So if you have profit at the moment, sell some of them !

You're a next level trader, I just realized it.in the middle of every month was the time when bitcoin to touch its peak, or its bottom. I should add this reference to my own strategy. I believe you use the same strategy like mine. And I wonder how much profit you have earn by realize this important thing.  Grin
497  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: why bitcoin illegal in asia? on: October 15, 2017, 03:32:46 AM
Not in whole Asia. There are few countries that have a negative view toward BTC and crypto market. Bitcoin is illegal and banned in Bangladesh and Thailand. Where as in China, there are some negative news about ICO's but still they haven't banned it. Other countries like India,Pakistan have a status 'Not Illegal hence legal'.
So thus statement is totally false.

that I know, Its not every countries in asia. Probably after china have banned crypto currency, its like the whole asia was also banning it. Anyway, even 50% countries in asia was banning crypto currency, especially bitcoin, it will keep rising its price without them. ANd if that truly happening, Asia will be more fall behind from other continent technology.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: profit ico on: October 15, 2017, 03:04:48 AM
dear all .. i very intresting to invest in ico,
1. but i do not know how to choose good ico
2. which one is more lucky whether buy ico at the time of pre sale or when ico is running ,,
3. how to keep it from being trapped by ico scam
4. whether investing in ico can be very profitable

thanks very much your sharing

1. Make a research on it ifrst, and learn about the project.
2. Of course at the first pre sale, You could get max $0.5 per token
3. Check the project community, the quality of it advertising ( I thought the project that give a value plus to its advertising can be trusted)
4. Depends with the succes of its Ico. It could be multiply you asset 10x or more.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Survey! Investing in ICO on: October 15, 2017, 02:00:38 AM
Actually, Investing on ICO's was not too different with investing on bitcoin and other altcoin. its a risky investment . But most of people are seeing ICO's as a scams, and yes, Some of them was. Thats why, before you investiong to an ICO, you need to read about the project, knowing the project, make a research on it . Ico are not for those who are new in cryptocurrency. Even other's say so. Investing in Ico needs a lot of patience, cause its need time to give you profit. So just Assume that you give them a loan with a spesific interest, and when the time comes, they will pay full + interest in one time.
500  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Patience and Holding on: October 14, 2017, 02:14:39 PM
Holding Bitcoin has always proven to be best thing to do, unless you are in trading business or in need of your money. So far price was always going up ward, there was some downs but Bitcoin price has always menage to go up at the end. Controlling our emotions, that is something that is necessary in Bitcoin world, and something we should all learn. Because emotions can lead us to panic, and panic lead to panic sell. We all know what is panic sale, and nobody like that. Be patient and hold your Bitcoins, to the point when you need that money.

Agree, that was a crypto currency world. Probably you understand about what it is, but you will never understand when the price are going up and when its going down. So far, doing a long term with bitcoin was the best thing to do. Thats why you should invest your money that will not be used in the near future. So lets assume that you're doing a savings plan that you could just cash out it with in a specific time.
